The new Netflix film "Blonde" starring Ana de Armas contains a graphic scene that depicts Marilyn Monroe being sexually assaulted by President John F Kennedy. "Blonde" is based on a well-regarded novel written by acclaimed author Joyce Carol Oates. It's fiction and does not claim to be an accurate fact-filled biography. However, numerous critics are concerned that viewers of the movie will think JFK really did assault Monroe, tarnishing his reputation.

Does the new movie about Marilyn Monroe cross the line the new Netflix film blonde starring, The Sensational anode armas contains a graphic scene that depicts her being sexually assaulted by the character modeled on President John F Kennedy, you don't have to worry about me in the movie. The Screen Idol wakes up, dazed and bewildered after the rape in a New York City, hotel, room, she's dragged by Secret Service agents to the bathroom and winces in pain in real life Maryland, and President Kennedy apparently did have an affair culminating in her iconic rendition of Happy birthday at Madison Square Garden in 1962., Happy Birthday! Mr President, Charles casillo is a Marilyn Monroe historian. They had a fling and it was consensual on both parts. What happened was is that Marilyn came to take it more seriously than a fling. She was at a very vulnerable point in her life and she started to look towards him as a possible salvation. He kept thinking of it as a flame, so it did ultimately come to feel by her as a betrayal blonde is based on a well-regarded novel written by acclaimed, author Joyce Carol, Oates it's fiction and does not claim to be an accurate, fact-filled biography. But critics are concerned that viewers of the Netflix movie will think that JFK really did assault Maryland and turn his reputation. There'S going to be younger people that don't know anything about her and they're, going to think that JFK, assaulted, Marilyn Monroe, it's not fair to either one of them, because there's no proof that it ever happened. The hotel room scene is one reason it was given an NC-17 rating due to some sexual content, which led anode armas to say I can tell you a number of shows or movies that are way more explicit, with a lot more sexual content than blonde day.

Anonymous Human: What is wrong with Hollywood? First they disrespect her when she’s alive. Now they tarnish her image when she’s dead.

Haileyosaurus: I don’t understand why they needed to make up an assault storyline. It feels Discrediting to real victims. Marilyn’s life was filled with trauma and triumphs. Her life is already a fascinating story. It feels kind of disgusting to put this idea in something that’s supposed to be a biopic.

Sophia Miller: I don’t think any actress can ever convey her Beauty nor any author or director convey her Life. It takes women numerous surgeries and multiple filters and they still can’t reach her Level. We all know that. Her inner mystery was her best kept secret. And Marilyn knew how to keep a secret. Just let it be.

elisa: why would they base their movie on a fictional interpretation of a real person’s life in the first place if it didn’t seem fair to them that people thought the r*pe actually happened. it seems very disrespectful to me to completely reinvent the life of someone like marilyn to their own terms and expect people to be ok with that cause ‘it’s just fiction’.

Deborah: I watched this movie last night. The actress captured Marilyn Monroe on film very well, but I thought the storyline was awful. Granted, her life was short and tragic, but I don't know how much depicted was true. There could have been more sordid events, but I prefer to remember the characters she played on film. She is not around to tell her own story. I would give the movie a C.

E Fonto: Facts about Marilyn: 1)She started her own production company, which was rare for a woman during her era. 2) She loved to read, especially science based literature. 3) She was close friends with exiled communist intellectuals, whom she would regularly meet with in Mexico. This is further verified via declassified CIA documents. 4) She had strong left leaning political views - once again, as documented by CIA declassified information, and those that knew her. Merilyn was a woman with poise, intellect, bold opinions and a strong sense of who she was. This movie portrayed her as an emotional and intellectual invalid. How grotesque.

Moike Catungal: I have just finished watching this. It is disturbing but there is no other way to describe Marilyn's experience. I think the saddest part is, nobody was able to save her. Rest easy, Queen.

Mera Mera: This film was horrible. I barely got to 2hrs of the film I couldn’t even watch the full 3hrs. However, the young lady that plays Marilyn M did a fantastic job. I don’t know much about Marilyn but from the few interviews I’ve seen of Marilyn and the one movie I saw with her in it from back in the day I have to say that this actress really encompass Marilyn’s voice and mannerisms.

MissCoco: I saw the movie and it is really awful and traumatic to watch. Marilyn had a hard history but she also had light and brilliance. Ana de Armas has made a genuine effort to approach the role and has put in a lot of emotion but to me, the movie and her performance did not capture Marilyn at all. Nor does it mean that a performance is "Oscar Worthy" just because it was challenging for the actor

Bala Krishna: Disgusting aspect about it is they continue to exploit and sexualize a dead person with made up things, as if she wasn't exploited and sexualized enough. The 'artsy' tone couldn't coverup the exploitation it did and such tone usually tells the user its a biography, not fiction which is so misleading. Ana is great but the way she talks about this film and quotes like "I did it for her (Marilyn), I did it for Andrew (Director)" makes mee think she is as much exploited in to believing she was honering and doing the right thing by accepting to do a sexual assault scene that never happened but presented to us like it did happen.

rosie: The film in my opinion was not good. Please don’t come at me, all I am saying is there were 34 scenes of Marilyn crying. Although the filmography was beautiful, the film falls short on portraying Marilyn as an actual human being, that was resilient, smart, and had a range of emotions ,not just a crying abused woman. The sex scenes were also very random, very exploitive and felt out of touch. As a huge Marilyn fan, they never touched on her opening up her productions and her fighting for herself against 20th century fox which showed how strong she was, also she helped her black counterparts to more opportunities in a time of racism and this was skipped over. Those two events in her life show her kindness and strength and should have replaced those sex scenes which did nothing to show what kind of person Marilyn was, it just added to her abuse and victimization. Her accent was also not like Marilyn. Marilyn had a almost Snow White accent that was soft and delicate, instead Anna’s accent was a bit Cuban? Is that just me lol, she is extremely talented but the film did not allow her to show her emotional range!! Marilyn has long passed, and as a long time Marilyn fan, I just want to say please respect her legacy, she wasn’t just a sex symbol, but a talented actress, smart business women and overall wonderful human being, I don’t agree on some aspects of her life but she has had a very hard life, and is still being sexualized when she most wants to be remembered by her acting.

peperoncino: A fictional movie about a real person? I have no intention of watching that garbage.

Svnny: A fictional attack on her is an actual attack on him...

J. M.: Marilyn Monroe's life story didn't need any more tragedy to make it drama-worthy. That poor woman was born suffering.

SkyClouds: Yup this is definitely crossing the line. How would the director or the writer would feel of somebody made a movie about them where they sexually assaulted someone when they didn’t.

Bridget Sims: Why don't they let this women rest in peace

Elisheva W.: JFK did not assault Marilyn to our knowledge - like the gentleman said, their alleged relationship was consensual with both parties. Kind of disrespectful to real victims of assault and JFK’s legacy to make up something like that and portray it onscreen

WÆRM HØLE: A fictional movie about a real person, especially one that slanders them with DISGUSTING and HEINOUS accusations with no CONTEXT nor PROOF whatsoever, should be taken out and netflix should be sued for defemation.

Alos: Marilyn actually favored Bobby Kennedy more, but he refused to leave his wife. That broke her heart. Everyone thinks she fancied JFK so much, they forget she had something with Bobby.

CySa: This was a dumb idea. If one did not know the film is based on a fictional book about a real person, then one would assume this was real. What were they thinking?

Erika: Shame on Netflix because the dead can’t defend themselves.

Ivan Chavez: You could've put this movie in the horror category and I wouldn't be surprised. The movie was very dark and uncomfortable my girlfriend said she felt sad to be a women after watching it. That's a very ballsy scene and allegation to present in a movie about a dead president considering a lot of people in that era said he was a good president. I myself kept asking myself what exactly is the movie based on journals, interviews, diary? Also the guy explaining the end what type of person she was sounds a lot like the creepy guys that used to drug her up and tell her what to do in the movie.

🌺 Flower: People don't really know what kind of life Marylin really had so we don't know if every movie or documentary that comes out is true or not. This is more for entertainment purposes because in really, we don't know her. Only God knows the truth. May she rest in peace.

777gift: such a tragic life for such a beautiful person

Chloe: I agree with everyone else. The actress was amazing. The script was horrible, the scenes were random and I was left confused half the time. A big disappointment.

Kasper: ''All that’s missing from this portrait is, well, everything else, including Monroe’s personality and inner life, her intelligence, her wit and savvy and tenacity; her interest in — and knowledge of — politics; the work that she put in as an actress and the true depth of her professional ambitions. (As Anthony Summers points out in his book “Goddess: The Secret Lives of Marilyn Monroe,” she formed her own corporation: Marilyn Monroe Productions, Inc.) Mostly, what’s missing is any sense of what made Monroe more than just another beautiful woman in Hollywood: her genius. Watching “Blonde,” I wondered if Dominik had ever actually watched a Marilyn Monroe film, had seen the transcendent talent, the brilliant comic timing, the phrasing, gestures and grace? ''

Erica Stones: I get it! It is a terrible thing to happen to anyone but it was part of her life. It is part of what made Marilyn Monroe, her. It made of stronger as woman and as a person. It never stopped her dream of being a star as she pushed forward. Many women who gone through this knows these things make you feel scared and weak but from pushing forward you become stronger for it and become something greater than your attacker. You become the fighter. This scene proves it was hard even for her come a star. She grew up in a poor home with a single mother. A so-called father never even bothered and that is relatable to a lot of people who absent parents in their life. But the sexual assault scene relates to actresses that have gone for it themselves knowing that even she went through hell still became stronger for it as they did. They stand up to their attacker and got justice that helped her get justice even though she’s no longer with us. Gotta show the bad times before you to show the good times. Marilyn was one strong woman.

Love Dove: What is up with the disrespect Marilyn been getting lately?!?! No one in Hollywood seems to know how to honor the dead. Kim K and now this? Hollywood will forever victimize and profit of this beautiful woman. Our society is so sick

Charles Burnett: If it didn’t happen they need to advertise that way more. Until the moment he said “It’s fiction”, I thought this movie was supposed to be an accurate biography as that’s how Netflix is making it seem.

Jorge Rojas: First of all, let me say that I'm glad I live in a country where such creative liberties can be taken without being thrown in prison of having your head taken off. Having said that, just because you can do somehing it doesn't mean that you should. Have some respect for our slain President, is all I'm saying. Being an adulterer is a far cry from being a rapist.

Crafts and More: I saw this movie as No.1 in Netflix, so sat to watch it. I couldn’t get past 2 hours though I tried very hard from the beginning to give it a chance. Marilyn is portrayed as traumatized, confused, insecure character and overly sexualized. She was so much more than that. Though I didn’t get to this particular scene but it makes not in the mood to watch even more the rest of the movie

Jada: Honestly, I’m not the biggest Marylin Monroe fan, but I felt like the movie was very disrespectful. Like they made movie forgetting that she was a real human being? Ana is great actress but it’s a no for me.

Emily West: If the director had kept his mouth shut then the film might not be so perceived as exploitative. But that man is a walking caricature of misplaced hubris and it comes out in this film as much as in his interviews.

perfect stranger: Marilyn had a rough life. But to fictionalize it and sexualize her.. even after her death is just unacceptable. Plus to slander someone's character who has also tragically died young is just as unacceptable.. he may be a womanizer.. but still....

Lito the Man Lapid: It should be criticized but not JUST that scene.

Ezeani Chidera: Marliyn monroe historian? imagine basing your whole life studying somebody that died decades ago.

Kim Avila: Just saw this movie on Netflix and as a Marilyn Monroe fan , wow the movie is definitely trash and a dumpster fire. "Fictional Story'" using REAL people that actually existed one time ?? Yea sure what a great idea that sounds....... Most importantly this is such a major disrespect to Marilyn Monore but also whether you like him or not JFK as well. Can Hollywood just for the love of god leave this poor woman whos been dead for 60 yrs now in peace ??! Rest in Peace Marilyn , Norma Jean ~

cynthiastephie: I was not fan of the film and I was really looking forward to its showing. However kudos to Ms. Ana for her portrayal and acting. She was crying, emotional, abused and naked 90% of the time in the movie. It takes more than talent for her to do all of those things on this film.

NorkDorf Entertainment: Whoever's reading this, I pray that whatever you're going through gets better and whatever you're struggling with or worrying about is going to be fine and that everyone has a fantastic day!

Em: This is such a disappointing and inaccurate rendition of Marilyn Monroe's life. This puts her in the spotlight as an abused, helpless sex symbol who was used by the industry. Even though she was actually taken advantage of in many contexts during her lifetime, it is harmful to make up additional storylines that didn't actually happen and portray them in a way that is violent and disturbing. It Is horrible that they didn't take into consideration so many other aspects of her career when making this film. I can't wait for there to be an actual biopic based on Marilyn Monroe, one that tells a real story and that doesn't have made up sequences just to spark more conversation.

Coquetacheese: I lost it when the fetus started talking to her

Pete Fredrickson: I agree with the criticism stories based on real world events and people should be historically accurate.

Leon The wise: PORTRAYING FICTION AS FACT SHAME ON YOU NETFLIX!!

Mané Incondicional: Ana de Armas is beautiful and very histrionic. Her performance was magnificent but the film is demeaning showing the sexualization of Marilyn throughout the film sexualizing Ana de Armas is paradoxical and unnecessary. So many nude scenes weren't necessary, much less Kennedy's, showing him like that was grotesque. The movie could have been incredible but the director ruined it by hurting the iconic image of the great Marilyn Monroe, the movie is so dense and dark. I did not like.

Em D: The extremely graphic fictional abortion scene is what really got me angry like really mad , she never had an abortion there’s no proof ,she said that she desperately wanted children but she had multiple miscarriages because of infertility , we have to take into account that this was a real person that died and she’s not here to defend herself from these claims and this kind of portrayal. It’s one thing to write a bad book but it’s completely different to make a fictional movie like this about a real person and then try to twist their life story to the entire world to make money it’s not okay fictional or not

Joven Agustin: It's revolting how much she was exploited in her lifetime... I can't imagine

Taylor Jackson: When I tell y’all I have never been more disappointed in a movie in my life…… I felt like I wasted 3 hours of my life watching it

CG Rogers: We just watched the film last night. Ana did absolutely incredible portraying Marilyn. The storyline however was absolutely terrible. I was really excited for it to come out but It’s definitely NOT a movie I would watch again

Marta Hevia: Haven't seen the movie yet, but got to say I can't hardly tell them apart Ana and Marilyn..they look so much a like.. why would anyone make a fictional movie and add that horrific scene, her being raped by one of the Kennedy's, which is not true! Really silly if you ask me..

Precious: This movie is straight up awful. They betrayed Marilyn as a loony, morose victim with no personality and a Cuban accent. A waste of 3hrs

Tia Tokkesdal: We didn’t need to see her like this. It’s almost disrespectful.

purplecurves: I didnt like it at all. Ana was great, however, they had her crying all the time. Sheesh...I found myself eye rolling after a while. I didnt like that JFK sex scene and I'm no prude but did they REALLY have to show her giving h**d like that for so long? I don't think Marilyn would have liked to see herself portrayed this way. I think she might've even felt embarrassed. I stayed with it and while I loved the imagery, I found it long, boring and somewhat disrespectful. Also, the movie could've used more of a score. Some of those scene were soooooo quiet, it was bothersome. EDIT: Also, the timeline was all over the place AND for a 3 hrs long movie, they sure left out a lot of major key components in her life.

Vance Hardman: Watched it last night the actress who plays her should get an Oscar for her performance. It’s a dark story ,was every man in her life really a monster. She never stood a chance.

seek truth: Let her rest, I don’t like that they keep making it like she wasn’t human, she was a person who faced a lot of trials, stop mystifying it.

Rahman: Nothing is sicker than a movie about a dead person who can’t defend themselves

highlander723: That movie needs to be taken off of Netflix and that scene needs to be removed. slandering a good man's name through the mud just to prop up your movie is not right It's slanderous. Yes JFK was a womanizer and yes he cheated on Jackie left and right. But JFK was never a rapist.

Noelia Jaime: I agree. Watched it yesterday. It was practically smut. I feel bad for Ana,she was the only good thing of that movie. Just awful.

Gw: I finally cancelled my Netflix subscription over the disgusting scene in which JFK sexually, verbally and physically abuses the Marilyn Monroe character. Whether or not they had an affair is one thing, but there's no excuse for fictionalizing abuse by a former president for the sake of prurient sensationalism. If only someone could sue.

HRT TT: Ana did a great job!!! Her accent, her voice I was shock

Amethyst Savage: I feel like if Inside Edition can find a Marilyn Monroe historian to separate fact from fiction, the author of that book and Netflix could’ve done the same

Anya: I watched it yesterday. I had high hopes for the movie and I was disappointed. It was terrible, And did a good job, but whoever directed this movie did a bad job.

The harder they fall: Loved it but was confused about several scenes like who her real father really was

Arlene Burns: Tarnished through " flings, not films!" As if a married man (whatever position in life) is untarnished having flings, while the wife waits.

Nataylee Givens: Personally I felt sick watching the movie. The actress was wonderful, but the storyline horrible and distasteful. I would have rather watch the lifetime version than to watch this again.

Giovanna Aguilar: Yes it crosses the line for exploitation of Monroe and De Armas. Disgusting

Sabrina Y: I don't understand this obsession with this woman. Let her rest in peace. It's boring by now.

Matthew GAMING: I LOVE ana de armas. I LOVE marilyn Monroe. I absolutely HATED THIS MOVIE!!!! OMG it was awful!!!!!!! What producer at Netflix thought, "omg this is an amazing movie!!!!" ?!??! Cuz i barely made it thru about 20 minutes before i thought, this is bad. I watched a few minutes. Fast forwarded thru a lot of it and .... just.... wow. Its bad.

Stephania Romano Carretta: Well I just watched this and I thought that the acting was ok. I give this movie an 8 for adding more to her storyline. Other than everything else that was in the movie I feel like it Discrediting to real life victims, that we're Abused & Victimization. Every one is a Human Being. Anyway I'm a huge fan of Marilyn Monroe and I don't think she did none of that crazy stuff. My husband watched it with me and gave it a 7, and said the same thing about assaulting women. It isn't right adding that kind of stuff into it. Anyway I have books about her and I don't think she was the type who would do all that, she had a messed up childhood, she was an orphan, her mother was crazy, she gotten married at the age of 16 to her first husband, after that a Divorce then after that she met Joe Di Magio, and a Divorce, then after that she met Arthur Miller and Divorce. Then u guys added after her first husband after she divorced him for her to get involved with these 2 guys one was the son of Charlie Chaplin Jr and some other guy. Too much Edited. Anyway coming from a fan make sure you definitely have Love and Respect towards her Legacy. May she R.I.P

A A: It's mostly fictional and disrespectful towards Marilyn. Can people just let her rest?

Kevin Hunt: A historian who was a child knows best lol

Estella Coggins: Anna de Armas is an excellent actress. She just needs to chose her parts more carefully.

North American Intercontinental GP: Dude it happened and still happens every day in Hollywood

Kate Jagger: People always have a problem hearing the truth.

Zoey Ro: Let Norma rest!

Cristy Voiss: The film is equivalent as Kim K wearing her dress. Let the beautiful lady rest in peace.

Troubled.Goddess: I watched it last night. It hurt my heart

守lower: Well that's just stupid, inventing a rape scene that never happened just for added sensation. This is a No for me

Keqing: Damn shes keep getting disrespected even after she died They should made that movie out of biographic book of marlyn monroe

Megan Agetro: This movie was disgusting. It would have been such a great move with armas portraying MM.

Carolyne: I hope estate of Marilyn Monroe sues this production company. What a mishmash of gross fabrication and visceral nauseation.

Kasper: ''Given all the indignities and horrors that Marilyn Monroe endured during her 36 years — her family tragedies, paternal absence, maternal abuse, time in an orphanage, time in foster homes, spells of poverty, unworthy film roles, insults about her intelligence, struggles with mental illness, problems with substance abuse, sexual assault, the slavering attention of insatiable fans — it is a relief that she didn’t have to suffer through the vulgarities of “Blonde,” the latest necrophiliac entertainment to exploit her.''

Zahie: "Apparently had an affair"! Americans ! They did. And he was killed by the secret services. Get it!

Gacha Pawn: Blonde film being controversial just like Ms Monroe was, felt fitting

charshine: A good example of why writing fanfiction about real people is bad

Lxi G: remember: Fiction affects reality

Elek L.: The film was tough to watch but Ana de Armas was fantastic!

Jo-Ann: Triumphs in life come with great pain, literally everyone has hardships in life why is everyone surprised? Did you expect Marilyn life to be an exception or free from tragedy or hardships? … get real

xplay fan: If an actor does a great job in a horrible film can they win an Oscar

Seti Michael Maxwell: The country was in love with JFK and this movie is a complete liar! He would never do that and he would never cheat on his wife!

Mer Bish: There’s no dancing around this film. It was a fictional exploitation of a dead woman’s life. There is nothing to defend here. It is disgusting.

Sour Apple: Who would even wanna watch a fictional version of Marilyn Monroe

ET Torticill: Netflix is tripping on so many levels. Who thinks this was a good idea to add???!!!! Like, you’re already turning up the heat on prices, don’t make content that is too much for people

Gunjan's Divine Space: I had not idea that it's a fictional movie . I thought it's a biopic . This movie was unwatchable . Every single scene was painful to watch . If she lived a life like that death rescued her ..

Grace Lodzinski: seems like a pretty easy fix, put a disclaimer that this is a fictional story.

NinaLovesU: Rip Marilyn Monroe ❤

Evelyn Verdejo: Regarding Marilyn not being alive to defend herself, at least we will have to hear a statement from JFK’s daughter Caroline about her father’s portrayal in the movie

Din Djarin: Ugh Marilyn must be rolling in her grave, first Kim’s dress incident, now this

Lagoonagoon: The actress looks nothing like Marily this came across as more of a parody!

mymidgetbae: Quit it with the Marilyn Monroe movies already. Y'all just milking money out of exploiting Norma Jeane's life. Then y'all act sympathetic of her.

Louise: Remember this is from a fictional novel. This is not Marilyn Monroe. Netflix should push this as fiction.
