#MyFirstWig #Juliahair #Vpartwig

Hi guys, my name is Natasha and welcome to my hair channel in today's video I'll be trying on my very first wig. I feel like this was a bit of a risky move, because I'm a natural curly, hair content, creator and wigs are kind of well they're. The opposite of that, but I love experimenting with my hair. Trying new looks and I believe most things are fine in moderation. Also, wigs are technically a great protective style if done properly, because most of your hair is braided up so in a way using a wig when you want straight or colored hair is way healthier than putting heat or bleach on your real hair. So that being said today, I have this gorgeous 24 inch V, part wig from Julia hair and I'm going to show two ways that I apply it one just straight out the bag, with some curls added, since I ordered the body wave and the second a silky Straight bust down middle part, which is just how I wore it on my birthday I'll, also be showing some mistakes I made the first time around and how I learned to apply it so that it looks flat, neat and pretty darn convincing. So first things first is prepping your natural hair for the wig. This was kind of insane for me to do, but the first time I tried this wig a few few weeks ago I had goddess braids in, and I was just too lazy to take them all down and re-braid my hair. So instead I just took the top down washed it and tied up the braids at the bottom. Now anytime, I straighten my hair. I use a bond treatment like olaplex number, three or curlsmith Bond Salve and I never experienced heat damage. My Curls always bounce right back. No issues so highly recommend - and I got kind of sleepy at this point, so I just let that sit overnight and I'll finish the rest later. All right, it is now later, and the first thing I need to do is wash my hair. Obviously so I'm using the olaplex, shampoo and conditioner 10 out of 10 and their bonding oil is a heat protectant as well. This sounds like a olaplex commercial, but I swear. I just love their whole product line. It does wonders for curls and the braids were a lot easier than I thought to secure, probably because I didn't add any fake hair. I just did a flat twist on each side, braided the bottom, so it didn't come loose and then Bobby pinned it crisscross applesauce. In the back, then, I blow dried with this Revlon brush to speed up the straightening process and finished off with my cheese, ceramic flat iron on medium heat and finally time for the inches. Now this little cap came in the box with the hair, but I don't know if I'm just putting it on wrong or if it's supposed to be like hanging off the back like that, but yeah I'm gon na just skip that step. I have a feeling it's supposed to be for Lace: Wigs, not leave outs. So again, I'm using a V part wig today, which means the top of the wig, is open in this v-shape. Hence the name and lined with Clips to cover most of your hair. While you leave the top out so that you can blend it in and make it look natural, I decided to go this route for my first wig, because it's just the easiest to apply compared to lace. Wigs with like that, fake scalp, they're also much cheaper and quicker to put on so yeah I'm sold after you secure the clips up top. You take these little Combs on the side and tuck them in to really keep it in place and cover everything you can leave some hair out if you want, but I don't like straightening my edges, so I just sort of slit them back and reposition the clips. I move them up a little bit to cover more of the sides. Okay, now for the top, it already looks so good. I just comb it in all directions to cover the clips and my real hair looks kind of puffy still, so I use some more oil with my flat iron to add some curls. This took me like five minutes and yeah. This is the finished look of the hair right out of the bag. I really like it because it's kind of this messy beach wave look they're, definitely not perfect curls, but I didn't want to spend hours styling it. So this is the easiest and fastest beginner friendly way to put it on. I also like to wear in a side part and it looks pretty convincing and flat considering I have box braids underneath. I can't believe I got away with that, but next up, I'm going to show how I styled it for my birthday dinner, which is simply straight and on top of my curls, not braids, okay, so these are my natural curls. This is a lot of hair that I have to fit up under a wig and I just feel like two braids is not going to cut it, so I want to try actually cornrowing to see if I can get it really really flat. Honestly, if I was wearing the wig curly, I probably would just do two braids, but I feel like when you straighten a wig. It'S extra noticeable. How big the top is, because the rest of it is sitting really really flat. So I'm just going to invest a little bit more time into putting it on this time, because again one my hair is really thick. I have a lot of hair, so I really need to like make sure it's all tucked away and then two since the wig is straightened. It'S just gon na be a little bit more noticeable like what's going on up here and I feel like if it's like, really big and then really flat. That'S just a clear sign of the way to me. The point of a wig is to just not give clear signs its wig. This is just my oil treatment that I like to do. The night before I shampoo, I use leave-in conditioner, preferably a detangling One, coconut oil and Jamaican black, castor oil. Then I let it sit and twist overnight, okay, so it's now morning I slept with the leave-in conditioner and some oils in my hair just to like moisturize it before I shampoo. I was going to do my makeup, but I have a massage to go to in an hour also I'm about to get in the shower and wash my hair. So I just feel like it does make sense. I'M not trying to be face down in a chair with all my filming makeup on, so you guys will just have to take the all-natural by the way. Last night, I just slept with a scarf on top of this little shower cap, so I didn't get grease all over my pillow and our guest for today hi. Mr Kitty, Hello. I think I told you guys his name was Lenny. Last time, there's been a couple. Changes it just wasn't really fitting him. I was calling Lenny, I was like Lenny Lenny and he just would not respond. So I feel like he didn't like the name right. So his name is Panda now duh because he's black and white, but I feel like he just has the the personality of the Little Panda he just eats and sleeps and Cuddles. He does really like his stretches, though come on Kitty. Let'S show him my new stretch. I'M not gon na go crazy with product; normally I would put like leave-in conditioner or something, but I don't want to put leave-in conditioner on my hair, then straighten it. So the only one I'm using is this: it's a 10 Miracle product. Sorry, I couldn't get the label off. I like this, because it's great for curls, but also it's really good for hair, that you're about to straighten it. Just really helps it fight humidity. So I'm just gon na put this all over, throw my hair in a bun and go get my massage all right, I'm back for my massage. That was just what I needed. I'Ve got my fake face on now, so it's time for the fake hair. Okay, dress-up is so fun all right, so I've worn this wig like four to five times now, but all the times I've done it. I'Ve kind of been like in a rush. So I put it on lazy, so I've learned from some mistakes. I'Ve made in the past one thing: I've learned is to make my leave out a lot smaller. I had it way too big last time which made it difficult to blend the color. Difference was kind of noticeable and it exposes more of my natural hair to heat, which is lame. So this time I'm gon na make my leave out smaller and I'm also going to braid my hair down. I'M gon na take my time putting this wig on, because I want to see if I can get it like as flat as possible. Okay. So this time this is the piece that I'm going to straighten, which is like half the size of what I did. Last time, I'm just gon na keep this out the way and then braid the rest down. This is about the size of them. I'M gon na do four cornrows total um and the only products I'm using is this braided scalp spray by Camille Rose. I haven't tried this before, but I saw it and honestly anything that has Canal Rose. I'M gon na try and I'm also using some castor oil just to protect my hair while it's in the braids and they do not have to be perfect, but the two braids that I'm doing up front. I did make the skinniest so that the wig looks really flat. You could blow dry it first. I guess maybe it'll get it a little flatter, but I just try to avoid putting heat on my hair. If I don't have to - and I feel like, if you wet the hair, you can braid it pretty flat. So while I'm here another thing, I'm doing differently this time is I'm prepping, my curly hair. First, I'm going to save the top for the very end. So it's not like last time when I straightened it put the wig on and then had to restrain it again to make it blend. I'M just gon na do all that in one step and then, since I did dampen it, I'm gon na make sure it's fully fully fully dry. Before I put the wig on never put a wig on wet hair. That just sounds like a mildew Petri dish nightmare. So I'm good yeah, I'm just gon na give it like 30 minutes, go for a walk or something and then put it on when my hair is drying. Okay, I'm back and my hair is dry. I went ahead and pinned it up. I know I said I was gon na go on a walk, but I went to Arby's instead and got some jalapeno bites. You know how everyone is always saying like how is Arby's still a restaurant like who keeps buying this stuff. It'S me. It'S me. The profit margins that Arby's has been making off my jalapeno by purchases, I believe, is single-handedly keeping the establishment alive they're just so good. I should do a collab with them Arby's. If you're watching hit me up now to apply the wig, I'm putting it on the exact same way as before the top first and then the sides and it fit on my head a lot better with the smaller leave out, you want to make sure that the Clips are as close as possible to your part, so that's like the best I can do and, of course, the last step is just putting these little combs in again just kind of tuck it in and okay. I feel like this is something kind of flat and to finish everything off I'm using the last few drops of my Liquid Gold, olaplex heat, protectant and straightening one small piece. At a time. I used high heat because I didn't feel like doing the blow dryer first, that little square inch of hair comb it all together and looky there. It already looks way better way, sleeker than the first time, and I haven't even strained the wig. Yet speaking of to straighten, instead of my flat iron, I'm going to use one of my favorite heat tools, it's by tymo and it's this straightening comb that works so fast and easy. It picks up bigger chunks of hair. So I can move faster than just a flat iron and I got the whole thing done in like 10 minutes. I love how it came out. I think I prefer it straight. It just looks more professional and Polished, and it was easy to blend, definitely recommend doing four braids over two. It looks way better this way. I might try like six next time and be careful about the size of your leave out. I thought having more hair would make it look more natural, but I really just like the hot mess, because the whole top was like puffy all right now, it's time for my review. Overall, I love it. I would highly recommend, especially if you've never done a wig before. Like me, I don't even know how to give it a review, because I don't wear wigs or weaves or sew-ins or anything, so I don't really know like what to compare it to. But for starters, it was very, very easy to put on it was very quick to put on, I feel like, especially if you do it the lazy way like I did at the beginning. That only took me, like I don't know 25 minutes to put on today. It did take a little bit longer, of course, because I cornrowed and I straightened it, but I'm pleased with the results. So I don't mind so yeah. This hairstyle definitely took me less time than even doing my natural hair. Definitely less than straightening all of it and I feel like it was quicker to put on than putting on like a full frontal wig where it like totally covers everything. I didn't want to do one of those because I don't know how to do it in the YouTube videos really complicated, like with the net and the spray and the makeup I just can't and the plucking I can't so. This wig was nice because you just clip it on your hair. I mean right out of the bag, you just put it on and then bless you kitty. I will say I was kind of not liking the wig at first, because I thought I had to straighten like the whole top of my head and I don't believe in putting heat, especially at the top of your hair, because that's the most damaged part of your Hair you're always like exposing it to Styles and heat so yeah. I didn't. I didn't really love the wig at first, because it wasn't blending with my hair and I had to straighten too much my natural hair. But that was because I was putting it on wrong, but when I looked up other videos and just did trial and error, I saw much better results when I had a much smaller leave out up here - and I just took more time like laying my hair underneath, I would be honest: I'm not ready for those full wigs. I have just never ever met somebody in person with a convincing wig. Like I every time I meet a girl with a wig, I can't help but just stare at her lace and I feel bad about it and I like try to avoid eye contact. But while I'm looking at her I'm just like wow wow, you know not hating, but it's just wow so yeah. Personally, I am definitely into hair. I love doing hairstyles, but I I feel, like it's always kind of been my belief. It'S just better to wear your natural hair than a bad wig like it's, it's better to have a terrible hair day. It'S better to have a Rat's Nest, messy bun than to have a bad wig. I just feel like you're trying to be something else, and it's not even working, so it's like a double fail, but but yeah I like this one, because it doesn't feel too much like a wig. Okay, one major downside to this wig is: I definitely could not wear it outside for very long. If I did, it would have to be a very dry day, no humidity, no rain, nothing because I'm natural and my hair reverts back to curls very very quickly. I did use some good hair products that kind of help with that, but yeah. If, if I were to get caught in the raid right now, it would just be a nightmare because I would have curly hair up top and straight hair on the bottom, like at least with a full wig. The whole thing will always be straight, but I don't know so. This wig is sort of like a sew-in like a leave out weave where they sew tracks in your hair and leave the top out. I just really really really do not like sew-ins, because it kind of um. What'S the word, it incentivizes you to constantly restrain the top like every single day, or else your hair won't look good, because it'll be two different textures with this wig. You only wear it like one two, maybe three days at a time, and then you take it off. So I like how temporary it is because, although I have worn this wig a lot, I've definitely not worn it like for a month straight like you would have sew in so yeah. I feel like this. Wig is better than a leave out because you're not going to be straining it every single day, you're only going to straighten it when you actually put the wig on this wig gets major points for me, because you can actually see my scalp. You can come as close as you want, and it's gon na look real. I feel like with lace wigs the closer you get yeah. As always, I tried to be as thorough as possible for you beginners out there, like me, show you guys my trial and error. So you know which mistake not to make and get some styling tips to make doing your hair at home, easy, timely and, most importantly, the healthy way. So you can protect your curls, because these stylists these days, I don't care what anyone says: they're not going to care about your curls more than you they might care just not more than you. So I'm an advocate of learning to do your own hair thanks for watching y'all are so sweet and uh. Let me know if you want to see another style, yeah feel the stretch. Oh my kitty. Aren'T you this way this week, I feel, like he's like a little puppy, he's a little puppy personality. Okay,
