How To Customize A Wig! Jolie By Noriko Straight From The Box Including Steaming And Cutting!

Today we want to show you how we customize this Jolie from Noriko from start to finish! Thanks for joining us and for being a part of our YouTube World!

Hi guys it's machine Kim from an Uzbek boutique and we are going to show you today what misty does to my Jolie that I wear all the time Julie's by Noriko. I wear the color, not the highlight and we're gon na show you what she does. My Jolie to make it look like my Jolie yeah extra out of the box. It just doesn't look like him, so she likes a bang. You'Ll, see the differences as we go along and we're gon na. Do it step-by-step on camera, we're not gon na cut out anything. We might fast-forward a little bit through some of the parts, but that way you'll be able to see everything and know that what we're showing you is the only thing we do. We don't do anything behind the scenes. This is exciting because I love getting some new hair this when I think a cam in a wig. This is she's had it lots of other wigs. But this is her look, but it's not her. Look straight from the box right so, as you can see it's really flat here, I turned this. I just little you can. There is no height up here at all and that's just not who Kim is Kim wears a little bit of a bank ranger background and she likes what we call hump. Well, the technical with the term. The other thing is this way comes with an extremely straight part. I don't like that so yeah, it's more just kind of an off-center see where it's kind of hitting around the left side of her nose. We'Re gon na move it over to line up with the arch of her eyebrow. So to do that, that's the first thing we're gon na. Do I kind of look in the mirror and seeing yeah? That'S why I like I've extra part, put a clip in it, and the first thing I do is I'm gon na stain that in we're gon na leave her just like that in that cute, my mom. That'S we're not the Ritz we're not gon na steam. It on my head, not on her head. Okay, that's kind of it hazard, but we're gon na sing that part in to keep it over so well we're cutting it that it's not going anywhere. Now this the whole steaming thing is one of the things that you don't want to try at home. Christy is a master stylist, it's been doing synthetic wigs for over 10 years. She knows what she's doing and you can. People have seemed your wig in the wrong way and used the wrong technique. They'Ll just ruin it so I'll show you what she does and at the same time, I'm just pulling down. What'S gon na be later on a little wispy. Bang and again you don't want anything straight. So I just kind of zigzag it a little bit really irregular. I mean you want it as natural as you can be. That means no straight zigzag you never like that was in style, uh-huh, decade or so ago. We don't want that look, but we don't want it also to be just a straight line. So I've got this pinned into a wig lock. Can I just start seaming? This is very hot, so I'm not burning my fingers, I'm just kinda. I just start steaming and directing this the way I'm gon na want it to go while she's doing that. I'Ll just remind everybody about the mallanna wig grips, they are the originators at the wig grip and you need to wear a wig grip if you're going to keep the wig on your head. So if you wear the white label on the right side of your head, you velcro to the back. It actually protects your hairline. So if you're worried about your hair, thinning and worrying about some of the friction build-up that can come with wearing a wig at that hairline, your wig Kurt, that's actually getting protected. So, there's just a number of reasons why you would want to wear a wig represented combs or bobby pins, or you know the little and posed caps that we use that we have to put on you for hygienic purposes before you can try out a wig. None of those things are going to perform for you, like the weight grip. Will. Okay next thing, I'm gon na use is this styling brush it's a hot air brush, but it's plastic. We'Ve featured this on some of our like win top Wednesday's and we talked about the products we use, and this does not get hot enough to ruin your wig. So if you're watching this, you can do this at home. They'Re not ruin your wig, but make sure it's a plastic right now. It'S made by Helen of Troy and the manufacturer just told us they're, changing it. Hello, Troy and hot tools are the same company, but it's gon na be called hot tools, and I think it's gon na be black and pink. Something like that. So, if you're out looking for it in the near future, it won't be this color. So when you're doing that, what's that doing it's, if you can hear me, it's just kind of drying, this and kind of directing it and keep getting it to where I needed to go. We don't like to wet, but we're gon na do a lot more of this, but you can use this to kind of pull out any frizz or kind of redirect the bangs if they start sticking out anything like that. But this is the great tool to have. This is the one and a half inch I use this more than any other size. We have them all the way down to 3/4 inch, but this is the most versatile size. So, if you're ordering one of the package - okay, this is nowhere near done, but I just have kind of things going the direction I want them to go. Now. I'M gon na work on trimming. The bangs tend to fit her and we're gon na stay right below the eyebrow. You never want to cut anything above. The eyebrow and you'll have what we call baby days and those might be fashionable in some magazines. But it's not real life. Well, we've all had them. Oh I've had more than my fair share. You know because when you're young, you don't think uh-oh wet hairs, you know good and shrink when it's dry and so you, you think I have this nice bangin into being up here. So you know what science this is already looking at junior in high school picture. I had I mean they and I mean baby things. It'S like three, but the sad thing is: I'm do it myself. Anyway, you can see just from what I've done so far. I'Ve already got her part moved over. It'S I'm still gon na work on it. We'Re gon na separate this a little bit get her a little bit more of a hump, but I'm gon na start trimming these bangs right now. I use a combination of a razor sheers and thinning shears the thing about cutting synthetic wigs again like she said. If you don't have any haircutting experience, you can ruin them really quick. So you want to make sure you, if you're trying this on your own, try it on an old wig, don't write on something brand new, especially this way. You know retails for a few hundred dollars, so we're gon na start by razoring. I get that just to get a soft line, then I'll clean it up a little bit with shears. It'S also important to make sure you have it where you're gon na wear it. So, are you all lined up always double check? Isn'T one time I had a client who didn't line it up and I trusted her. The racer just gives us soft feathery and again we're not gon na cut too much. These are still pretty long, but I don't want to go to extremes because I'm going to shape them a little bit more. I'M just getting the bulk of it out of clay, and then I'm going to come through on edges here and just hit them with a thinning, shears and other pieces. We want it nice and soft, no heavy transitions. You always want to feel like you're over texturizing you're, going to texturize on a wig a lot more than you're going to texturize on a human head, hair. Okay, so I'm gon na check it off her head again and put it back on the walk. See me a little bit more always align it up, always make sure to that, because if I'm, you know see me something in place, I don't want to seem in the wrong direction. Unless you have a crooked head, it's more than brain, though I think tonight I think you're right all right, yeah, I'm gon na work on getting those bangs cut it out Kim, doesn't like him flat against your forehead, so we're gon na curve him out. Do that. I'M gon na do a combination of this and the seam reckoning time. Don'T ever leave that heat on the air food long? You can see what I'm doing, but I'm gon na turn this around a little bit and she likes kind of what we call the hump. I'M just getting this to go straight back. It'S gon na look weird as I'm doing it, but I promise it'll fall enticing. It'S almost like I'm over dredging at the opposite direction, because when I pull it back over its gon na give that nice performance right there. You see so kind of over direct it and then same thing with your own hair. If you're drying your hair and your parting direction, I'm parting, I will dry it going the opposite way. That way, when you probably the good recap, simple answer and I'm gon na work on lifting this part a little bit more to do that, I just use this small little community unity 3-row brush. I just pick it up at the root and then seen the root and lift. I could probably do this wig in my sleep yeah, because inevitably every time Kim ware says somebody wants it and they don't want it from the boss. They want it. Just like him. Everybody wants to be like him like, I said it looks like a crazy mess right now, but it's gon na fall in place really nice. What we do is just kind of lift it and then let that root kind of cool down, so it holds the shape. Just like your own hair, when you curl it a whole set, is always best because it'll hold it for a longer lift, then just kind of let it hang out a few minutes kind of. Like I always say you know, it always gets worse before it gets better. That'S kind of the way this week looks and you're probably like, and I think - and that looks horrible, but I promise see the collage products, I'm just gon na like hit it with this, and this definitely get hot enough. You can that literally put your hand on it, engage the two you now on the side over here she likes asleep. So will you say what I come in here and do is just to wrap this around and kind of direct it away from the face? Okay, what I always do in between is just have her put it back on, so I can see where we're at and then I can whine about little bit in here and a little bit here. That'S okay! That'S part of customizing wig is making it yours. What I may wear may not be what she would wear and vice versa. So it's okay! If you want something specific done, looking like you and she always tucks this side. So what we do is once she tucks it. We kind of come through with a razor and just kind of, and go that down where it has a nice soft blend like that, it's a much looser it looks up here. Just I mean for just a little bit of veteran things are a little bit long. She says are in her and this side looks a little heavy. So what I'm gon na do is come through and just kind of texture eyes right over here: there's no science and cutting a wig. It'S not like cutting a head of human hair. You wouldn't section it out and you know making sure everything's right. You just go with the way the wig hangs. So if a piece doesn't look right, trim on it, if it looks great leave it alone, so nobody's going to come through and check this haircut. You know and make sure that it's all where it needs to be for right now what I'm gon na do. Is you cute? It gives this fullness here and it matches the foams in the back from our profile before it is so flat, always point cut if you're cutting up into the wig never straight across, because we don't want you to harsh line and the teeniest tiniest amount of time. It always take more, but how many times I say they don't grow. Good, okay, hasn't link feeling it. What are you thinking your eyeballs yeah and yeah? I'M gon na go through with just the good old-fashioned, texture, shears and the razor is great, but to really get into those bangs. What I do is not what everyone do. I don't pick up a situation. I'M I kind of just go about eyeball. Okay! Well, you know what this piece looks a little heavy, so I grab it texture out the end. Grab it texture out the end. I'M such an obedient client look at a turn hit. All you have to tell her I ever trained and what I'm feeling when she's asking about my bangs, I'm feeling that they're gon na hit right in between my eyelashes and my eyebrows. So that's the link that I like. I think that's the link that probably that's what most people request of you did you I mean if someone says they want it shorter than that I just almost will tell them. No because I don't have a very big forehead so on me, this way cutting it as short as whatever needed to, but I look a little thick and heavy and not direct the way I wanted to so I usually tell people with people issues like me, um. If they won that short of a vein just instead of cutting the bank, some short push the wig back up on your head a little bit and give yourself a deeper forehead. That way, you don't have to cut as close to the cap as what you would need to, and it saves your wig from looking fake. So I think this is looking pretty good, just texturizing that side over there all right. I think this is that's. Looking good Kim one of the things and just to bear in mind when she does this one of things that I, like I heard directing, that is why I've been my head down. The hair doesn't hang out in my face. The other thing is - and I get asked this all the time - because I always tuck this side - it makes this cute little tuck under it. Trains like that, it's same with this she's she's got it going that direction, but I'm always gon na pull this back and so over time. It just it has this really nice wave, but it takes some settling and it takes some patience and training, but and don't be afraid at first to put a little hairspray on it. You don't want to over coat it, but if you have a piece or two that's kind of going the direction you don't like it just put the hairspray on it a little bit. You don't have to spray it every time you put it on. So you know spray, it wear it. You know where a couple of times and then spray it again. If you need to cuz you don't wan na over coat it because then it gets into some. You know issue of getting all the hairspray out, but it is trainable. I mean the most common misunderstanding. Is people thinking? Oh, you know what I'm gon na put this wig on and I'm never gon na have to touch it. It'S gon na be perfect. You have to make it yours, I mean 9 times out of 10. When you get a wig, it has to be made. Yours, it's you know sometimes yeah. It works especially pixie cuts that are short. People have to do anything to it, but when you're wanting this to look like you just put your hands in it, you know make it you anyway, that's it. We just had promised you before we're gon na show you what we did, and so you would know um if you have any questions, just shoot them in the comments below make sure you, like our facebook page and follow us on facebook and turn on your notifications. On youtube, so we'll be back with more information soon, thanks for watching bye, you

Saucy Secret Stylin’ Sauceda: Ok, Noriko needs to create a “Jolie Kim” wig so we can just have it ready to wear

Investigator77: Thank you SO much for doing this video! I have purchased 4 new wigs (Voltage, Sky, Reese, and Editor's Pick!) and would love to be able to redirect some of the bulk, and have some wispy bangs on one of them. I purchased a set of scissors, thinning shears, and a razor, so I have the equipment I need. I just need to get one of the cork heads,, to work on it more easily. I've always been good cutting hair, so I don't think I will have any problems after watching your excellent tutorial. Thank you again, for all of the information you share. One day I'll talk my husband into going to Dallas to meet you, and buy some more hair! We're in Toronto, Canada, so it may take some convincing, but I'll get there eventually :D Love you ladies, and your video's. What a great service you do for us!

msjaebea: Thank you so much for this video! Jolie doesn't come in my color anymore (iced mocha R) so I bought a Tori and did the same thing you did. Tori comes with a middle part so I changed it to a right-side part and did the hump. It came out beautiful!! Awesome tutorial!

Brenda Ay: Wow, what a great video! I just wish your shop was here in Northern California! Love the steaming demonstration. That wig went from a very nice wig to a masterpiece on Kim. Kim, you look beautiful!

A Sou: This is such a helpful video. I wish I had a wig salon like yours that I could go to.

Marina Yagudayeva: You guys are so professional. I feel so confident to do my wigs. Please do more videos like this with long hair too. Thanks.

NorthGeorgia Gal: I can't thank you enough for this video. You two are great and just wished I lived closer to Dallas. Have just customized a very old jon renau with the 'kim hump' and it came out great.

Karen Moore: Awesome video, what a difference it made!! Thanks for showing it.

Elissa Coatney: I love you guys! I am a retired hairdresser that has begun to wear wigs. You give the best demos on what to do to style and make them yours! This is the same problem I had with Jolie and now I believe I can fix her! Thank you so much for the information and please keep it up! Lisa

Deb S: Thank you, this is the exact video I needed to watch. I have the Carrie by Envy which comes with bangs. The long piece of hair that is beside the bang is falling forward. I haven’t worn it yet since that one piece is falling over the bang and into my face. I know I’m not making sense. When you are using the thinning shears on the bang and on that piece of hair I’m referring to. Which way are you holding the shears with the teeth facing out or in. I just love all your videos, I haven’t missed watching one. Thanks so much for your help!!!

Kate G: You got me again. At the beginning of the video I thought "Oh Kim looks great not wearing a wig yet!" Off it comes while I go "GAHHHH oh phew, it's a wig!" Honestly, that Jolie is the prettiest color and style I've ever seen on Kim. She looks GORGEOUS! Props to Misty too for making it look chic. It's okay out of the box but she makes it look like a million dollars. Misty, you are amazing, girl.

Kari Stone: Thank you, thank you, thank you! I live in Australia and there are very few wig shops around (let alone people I would trust to customise a wig.) I have to buy online and am learning some very basic ways to 'modify' my wigs. I have some older wigs I'll practise these techniques on.

Patti Rinehart: Hi girls ! I love you two... I live in Dallas and already bought my wig ( I started chemo last week ) do you only customize the wigs purchased from your store? I wish I had discovered you sooner- I still may come in so I can meet you both ( and maybe buy one from y’all) ....I think you both are fantastic!

Suzanne Young: I love you ladies. You are both wearing such pretty outfits. Amazing alterations on that wig. It's what I'd wear.

Dan C: Wow, this was a great video! I want to cut bangs into a JR Julianne. This was so helpful! Thank you.

BoMiSo Satori: you are so good Misty, I have a weirdo wig I got by accident, I got wrong color and wrong type of wig and I kinda wanna play now with this one to see how it could maybe work :D Im excited <3

Cathy Woodill: You two are wonderful thank you so much

S MS: I love Kim’s wig the way you cut it. That’s the exact style that I’ve been looking for. Is it possible that I could buy the exact wig and send it to you and you cut it the same way?

MeadowsZ: This is such a great video! Do you all take clients that bring in their own wigs for styling?

Gale Taylor: Thanks girls!! So helpful. I’m going to have to go by yalls shop when I visit my brother in Celina.

Cheryl McBride: What a great video! Thank you!!

Janis Huey: You are a magician!!! The end result is soooo beautiful!

BoniW: OMGosh. That don’t even look like the same wig. Amazing. Love you ladies❤️

Art Girl: That wig with wispy bangs is exactly what I’m looking for!!! Oh I wish I lived near you!! I love watching your fun videos!!

ImSPOTon: This woman has some real skills.....And i NEED her services lol. I have had a wig for a few months that needs some tweaking but im too timid ( petrified actually) to take it to anyone .....but this woman is someone i know i could trust because ive just watched what she has done and how shes transformed this wig tu suit her friend......WOW ....so impressive. Where are these ladies located ? If not far , i would definately travel TO her!

Vivien Mcnaul: So interesting. You ladies are so talented.

Irene Wilson: I think she suited it just out of the box x

Melanie Simpson: Super cute!!!

Beverly Marta: I just started to watch your videos when I found them, I absolutely love you guys you both are so helpful with information. I have lupus and at the point my hair loss can't be hidden anymore, I really need help to find what will work for me. I live in Delaware and would like to schedule a trip to Dallas and come to your salon, how far in advance would I need to schedule an appointment? Could you give me some information on what to expect and would the appointment be with one of you ? Thank you so very much have a wonderful day,.

Lois Edge: Love watching this!!!

Frankie Lee: I am pimping your ride (sharing this video) because I've been following you lovely ladies for quite some time and want to save this wisdom for future practice. Well done!

Anita Rushlow: Great video!! Wish I lived near Dallas so I could bring in my wig to make it my own!

Tyrandy B: Will the hump stay even after its washed. Or do you have to redo it each time the wig is washed?

tkraus46: I would love to come to your establishment and try on a bunch of wigs!

BoMiSo Satori: How long does a wig normally last? if you use it 2-3 times pr week just in the ballpark ?

A Li: This video was great. Thank you!

Nikki Page: I really liked that. I would like to see more of this kind of video, but with the camera placed so I can see better how you texture and point cut the bangs. We dont have anyone like you in our area, I would like more tutorials so i can try this.

Maryshell Smith: Do you have to style after every wash?

Judith Fields: I want Kim's wig too after it's styled!! Is that possible?

Shawkins Myself: Was this a non-heat friendly wig? Just curious. I took over my MILs wig salon of 60 years and I'm still learning. Just wanna make sure the heat brush is safe on non-heat friendly before I try it. She has told me not to use anything but steam on non-heat friendly. Of course, fibers have changed a lot since when she first started. So she may just be stuck in her ways. She can style ANYTHING with just steam and teasing!

ImSPOTon: I have really enjoyed you ladies. But it seems that most ALL the styles and colors look great on you......i am so envious. Youre both gorgeous and display these wigs so nicely. My face is super long and thin......and everything looks too full and like too much hair dangit

Renee Galloway: Could you elaborate on the canvas blockhead and why it is wrapped? Also, when you tuck behind your ear, what about your bio sideburns/hair showing?

Janet Ridgeway: Looks adorable

Darlene Corbett: Could I order from you a Jolie that is the same custom cut as Kim? What measurement would you need?

Cyndi Caldwell: what happens after you have steamed and cut this wig when you wash it??

katfish423: Just found your channel. y'all are the best! I'm in NC but wondering if I can make an appt to come to Tx to have you customize a couple of wigs for me??

Elizabeth Sprinz: Gorgeous

mattiesful: I love that bun. It’s not a wig is it? I have a steamer air brush, because t never thought to use them together. Great video. TU

Kelly Zarek: Hi ladies! Love your videos! Misty can you demo how you use "product" to get your looks. I have Audrey and Cameron by ROP but they seem so flat to me. I'd like a little oomph by the part and Kim's "Jolie hump". Is this possible with these wigs? I have a temp control curling brush. Thank you.

Dresden219: Have you ever tried a "wig oven" for curling?

Laura Lane: Will the style stay when she washes it?

Judith Cervizzi: Will steaming my wig take away some of the puff?

Darlene Corbett: Also Misty, fo you only customize wigs purchased from your location?

Pam Hamilton: Thank GOD‼️ I live in Irving Tx & needed a great wig & hands on help to make it mine . Do I need to make an appt or can I just come see y’all ? I have health issues so that is why I am asking. Thank You♥️

Piper56: So wish I watched your video before I trimmed my brand new Alva by Noriko that I ruined!

PJ Mundy: I have to have that hump too!!

vivecaStJohn: I just ruined my new RoP Cameron by attempting to steam her myself. All I wanted to do was settle down the fringe and have it sit a certain way but the whole thing frizzed up like an old doll's hair. She's in the bin and I'm heartbroken.

Colleen Ingham: I didn't know you could do all the things you did to a wig. When you sell a wig to a customer do you always have to cut and/or steam it or can most wear it straight out of the box/

Sherry Gaillard: Where can we get the products?

Maryann Towndsend: Magic scissors in magic hands❤️❤️

Amyrosebud: You do good work! Wish you were out in Michigan !,

Gail Mattingly: I have been wearing wigs fir a while but I would never cut, steam, or thin a wig. I don’t know how to do these things and would be afraid too. And I don’t know who could go these things for me. Most Beauticians don’t either that are around me. Ones I know like doing human hair only. I surely don’t trust myself.

Tina Lauderman: What kind of scissors are you using to do the texturising those are not thinning shears are they?

Teri LoBosco: How do you was a wig and how often, especially when using hairspray. Where can I get the steamer you used and does it ruin the wig, too hot. Please advise. I wish you would do more instructive videos, this one was a big help.

Sandi Newton: So this is a wig where it can be restyled? I guess there’s a name for the type of “hair” that the wigs made from. I’ve had wigs that couldn’t take any heat at all.

cherylwiglover: I am enjoying you channel but the audio is always so low I cannot hear you. Even though I turn the volume to 100%, I cannot understand what you are saying and sometimes there are no closed captions available. Your channel is the only one I have so much trouble hearing.

Maranda McAllister Joiner: So everybody wants you now...have you ever thought about doing wig shows, traveling to different states in maybe a central location and advertising and offering custom styling for women who need you. I live in a very busy vacation city on the beach, yet there’s absolutely nothing like your shop anywhere near here. I just think you could not only benefit yourselves, but so many others with your experienced hand at this beautiful art. ❤️

Tracey Damico: So steamed is ok for HD synthetic?

PJ MS: I would like to get a styling brush like that but can’t find one. Can you recommend something like what you are using on the internet I can buy?

Debera Crabb: I have question I like to buy your hair grip but I live in Arizona an as you know the summers are hot an I’m afraid that the grip would be too hot ...what are your thoughts?

Gail Mattingly: Can be you do the same they to this wig if I bought one from you ? Then send it to me? Will it stay that way after washing and conditioning it?

Tammy Sais: Are you using heat? Or is that a steamer?

Linda Vorce: Wow what a difference

Stephen Carter: I get a old wig I like to turn into a guy wig for me it a Elizabeth by Paula Young its short and mom know longer like the style I wonder if thinning shears would do the trick.

kelly trisor: Why are there not custom “unwiggy” wigs for whites the same as black ladies have?

Joy: the sound isn't good on the video. can't hear you.

Suzanne Dawson: Is Jolie heat defiant?

Linda p.p.: Great video. Wish you were nearer to me (Roanoke Va.). I have been unable to find a nice wig shop within 100 miles. The best i have found is in Myrtle Beach SC. Ridiculous!

Sharlene Tull: I wish u were in Oklahoma City area. I would buy that wig and have it customized by you! Great job and this wig on Kim is beautiful

Kim Cat: Misty reminds me of Phoebe from FRIENDS.

Lois Hendyy: Was that a razor you were using for a short time on the wig?

CJ cj: Misty was that your own hair in the video? Or if it is a wig...which one? Lovelovelove that hairstyle on you!

Elizabeth Shank: Let me ask you a question. Can I purchase a wig from you, and you cut to fit my face? Every wig I purchase needs your help...

Jeanette Lysak: Clever girl Misty

Janet Emerson: Wish I lived near you. Essex is a long way from Texas.
