Hey sunflowers welcome back so today, I'm just going to show you how I altered my blue dome cap use hartwig. So if you have watched my previous video, the bobby boss, reverend new king, keep em here is the one that is on the? U part wig. So I'm just showing you the cap construction right now. Basically, this video is going to show you how to make the dome cap smaller. So if, for some reason you have a smaller like a smaller head, I guess you can say like I do. Basically, what I ended up having to do was so the dome cap so that it would be a little bit smaller because it stretched too much, and it was just way too big for my head and then I'm just showing you how it looks underneath alright. So when I put on the dome cap - and this is where you're going to see the major difference here - I put it on - you know temporarily secure it and just wait for wait for it there. Okay, so you might not be able to see the actual hump, but that is how much of the dome cap that is not secured to my head. So, as you can see, the dome cap stretches way too much, and I am not about that life. So I try to go with a few different methods of how to you know perfectly sized exactly. You know how much of the dome cap I need to take off, so I tried safety pins. As you saw, I even try catch at pins um. I even tried to put the jab pin, while you know, try to secure it while it was on my head. Basically, none of that stuff worked and then I decided you know I'm just gon na wing it and I'm just going to sew it together. So this is first method that you're seeing it's actually the wrong way, but I want to show you guys, because I made the mistake of doing it so basically, instead of well, I guess I'll. Let you guys watch what I did so the main issue there was that I pulled the extra piece of the dome cap to the outer portion of the dome cap. Hopefully that makes sense. So, that's why you see those tracks sticking up, because I didn't pull them in. I pull them out, so I have to go back and fix that. So basically I cut all the string back out or weaving thread. Sorry so I cut all the weaving thread out and that's the wrong one, and that is the right way there we go. So, basically, you want to pull the extra cap to the inside of the cap if that makes sense so that way on the outside, you have a smooth surface and on the inside, you feel that extra piece - yes, but you don't honestly, really don't feel it that Much against your scalp, so it's not that bad at all. So once again, this is actually a guesstimate. So basically I just went about sewing. It sewing how much I thought I need to sew together and then you know it was basically a trial and everything. So I did it twice, so this is the first time that I did it and then you're gon na see me go off camera real, quick and put the cap on my head, and then I come back and basically so more so once again, this is the First time - and it was not enough - so I actually had to come back and so more of the cap together. As you can see, I'm smoothing the hair down. I always do that to see how the tracks will actually lay and it's pretty flat, but I just need to take care of that portion so that front portion that front inch, I'm not going to touch, but the three inches are so behind that going to secure Together - and this is pretty much a trial and error guys, but I made this wig so well like it was so well constructed that I did not want to like go back in and try and cut stuff. So this was actually what I came up with as and I'll turning it for that. So, as you can see, the sole part is on the inside and the kind of flips and flaps flips and flops over. I would actually maybe even suggest you guys sewing the flappy part down it's up to you guys I didn't so, but I'm just showing you the hair and how it flows now and just still secures to my head. Then I take down my leave out and bam switch little switcheroo there. So that's my leave out unblended, honestly, it's already combed or brush together or anything like that. But that is the final look and it's way smoother. You know smooth down to my head, so I'm so happy with it. Thank you guys so much for watching. K. Ann Kessler: THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!! I bought a wig a couple years ago that I paid WAY too much money for and didn't know any better. The movement of the wig was so annoying. Now I can fix it!! Thank you for not making me waste over 1K. hahaha cute song at the end!

Kristie P: I preferred a upart wig. It came with an average cap and was huge on me! This helped me a lot!

Andrea: This was really helpful! A lot of people say that you can't alter a wig with a monofilament top. But I guess you could with this method? I have alopeica and would like to buy my first wig. Unfortunately I have a really tiny head. Even petite caps are way too big . Custom is too expensive so I am thinking of buying a mono top wig and then trying this method but I am afraid I will ruin the wig. I need a low density wig. Would that make the alterations visible? Has anyone tried this method with a mono silk/top? Think it'll work? Thanks for any help

Keisha Lewis: Thank you for this video. Very helpful.

sheabuttahtv: I believe I bought the same Bobbi Boss u part wig and yes it too big! This going to help a lot. Thanks for showing your mistake, now I don't have to.

Khloe's Challenge: That's exactly what I was thinking about doing to my wig. Now that I now I am a medium head lol!

jewelleryaddict: Same problem got discount beautiful wig like yours but had bump on back from being too large. Have spent 2 days trying to find best way to fix the bump in back cause wig with real hair is just so thick and beautiful I want to wear it now!

Celeste Branch-O'Neill: I thank you so much for this video. Now my wig is actually a remake/do over using the same dome cap. (I'm on a budget). Because of the way that I cut the cap, it caused the wig upon completion to be way to big. I looked on here for an answer and found your video. I did try it your way but because I used a 4 x 4 lace closure it did not work for me but I was not discouraged because you gave me a wonderful idea. I decided to "tuck" in the side in the bottom back with safety pins to hold, then tried the wig back on. It WORKED! I then sewed it just like I was taking in or tucking in the side of pants at the waistline (had to do that once upon a time when I was thinner, lol) to make sure it was secure, tried it on again, added water and hair oil product, and the wig looks fantastic. Thank you again for the video and for giving me the idea to try it your way in a different area.

bgreenshoes: U just saved my ass! I did not wanna return this U-Part i ordered and thanks to u, i dont have to! Thank u thank u THANK U!!!

somethingnew13: Cool..I had this same issue, it's better and smoother if you sew the cap before making the wig

OhThatsTi: Bitch YOU ARE A GENIUS!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you for this!!!

Rochelle Johnson: Cap is too big on the top right side, do I still use this same procedure, gather it in the middle or is it on the side that doesn't lay flat?

iamshalewis: Thank you so much!!!

Anna Murray: would this work on a regular wig cap? I've bought a lace front and it's that kind of cap not the dome cap i asked for regular but I swear it's large it's about as much space as yours. I'm scared to ruin the wig by touching it though
