*The reasons why I don't recommend using a braided cornrow cap*

The braided cap is very hard to crochet into.

It has thread running through the middle and it tangles the locs when you pull it through.

It doesn't sit close to cap.

It ends up being bulky and HEAVY.

It is almost impossible to hide the cornrows

It is too bulky on the sides and at the top.

Hey y'all, it's jazz, Nicole and today I'm going to show you all my highly requested DIY faux locs wigs. So this is what it looks like. I went a little light this time. Of course you can use whatever locs you prefer and the capital gon na be using is a mesh cap and I was not able to get my hands on a closed top cap, so I have this open top. We will fix that later. I'Ll show you how to fix it, and these are the locks I'm going to be using for the back, and they are the urban Beauty, goddess: toe locks, they're 18 inches long and they're in the color 1b / 13. So I have two packs of these and I'm going to use in the back. So, of course, you just want to push your wig cap 1, your mannequin head, and I'm going to try to hide the band as much as possible by going around the band underneath it and crocheting it on that way, I'm not going through the band because you Want this wig to be fully adjustable and completely stretchy, as you can see when you crochet it on it, hides the band, I'm just going to continue to do that around the back of the wig cap, as I continue to crochet on these Falak. As you can see, it has not lost any of its stretch when you crocheted on that way and I'm just going to crochet the locks onto the mesh. So when I put my crochet latch hook into the mesh, I'm skipping about three or four holes, now I'm going to fix the open top. I have completed my two packs of the latest locks and I'm just going to kind of pull up the mesh. I'M going to start starting with the curved needle and thread, even if you have a closed top cap, you still don't want to do this, because when you pull it up a little bit, it kind of stretches out the back area, because after the first two packs Have been crocheted on to the nape area, it kind of ways down the mesh and to make sure that you're not making your wig too heavy or too full pulling it up, will stretch out the mesh and kind of stretch out all those locks that you did In the back, so this is what it looks like with two packs on and then expo box, and I'm going to be using our by model model. They are the 2x soft faux lock and they are wavy as well. These are 18 inches now in the color 30, so I'm going to crochet them on the same way that I've been doing the other ones. You want to make sure that you're, leaving about an inch of space in between the faux locs you, the last falak wig that I made was actually on a braided cornrow cap, and I really would advise against using a braided cornrow cap. If you guys want to know why I prefer this mesh, then just go ahead and read the description bar below and I'll. Tell you guys exactly why so it's a high the bulky mesh that has been sewn down at the top. This is how I'm going to crochet it on, and the next locks that I'm using are the exact same brand exact same type, except these are in the color number 27. Once you get to the top you're going to start mapping out where you want. Your V part to be so with the blonde locks, I'm just continuing to go around the band, I'm just shaping out my V part, I'm putting my foot really close together as I get closer to the top, because this is the part that's really going to show. So, as you can see, I have some really large gaps and I'm going to just fill in with the color number 27, and this is going to act as accent pieces, so they're really really large spaced out gaps, I'm going to just fill in with one or Two of these blonde locks - and this is what it looks like when you have crocheted all of your faux locks onto the wig. I ended up using eight packs and the wig is not super heavy at all, because the mesh is so lightweight and so are the faux locs. So now we're going to move on to the clip-on part. So I have this fabric. It'S just a big piece of fabric: you can use a thick piece of fabric or you can use ribbon. I don't recommend using anything stretchy because you want it to be sturdy and with a curved needle and thread, I'm just going to place the fabric along the part, I'm just going to start sewing that onto the mesh. So when we add on the wig clips we're not going to be sewing onto the mesh, will they be sewing onto this fabric, so I stitch all the way up and then I reverse it and stitch all the way back down. This is just to make sure that it is completely secure on the mesh and after doing the other side. This is what it looks like and now you're going to attach the wig clip. So these wig clips are just basic weight. Clip I'm just going to sew. It onto the fabric - I put my wig clips a little bit too far when you are doing this, you want to put the back of the wig clip like where the fabric part is right along the V part line. I don't know why I gave it some room, but you really want to put it along the line of the V part and that's going to make it sit nicely when you install it. So this is what it looks like, and that is it you guys. So, as you can see, it's completely stretchy right in this demonstration right here is just showing you exactly how strong those weight clips are on that fabric and how strong the fabric is onto the mesh. When you shake it up and down it doesn't move, it doesn't budge and doesn't break, and that is the final look you guys if you enjoyed this video, please make sure you give it a thumbs up and please subscribe to my channel if you haven't already and I'Ll see you all on my next video bye,
