Fixing The Dreaded Back Part

Fixing The Dreaded Back Part

You know the one I'm talking about, I can't be the only one! Basically, I absolutely hate wearing my hair down because my hair splits at the crown and I don't mean just slightly.. It looks like I have a full on bald spot! I've had hairdressers tell me that I have a "cowlick" in my crown area but I don't think it's ever been as bad as it is now (If anyone has any advice on how to get thicker hair LET ME KNOW!!!) Instead of wearing my hair in a ponytail or messy bun every.single.day. I decided to find a solution for this problem and you know what...I found it! It's super easy and all you need is a hair straightener, a comb and some hairspray.. thats it! such an annoying problem with such an easy fix. I hope you guys enjoy this video and don't forget to subscribe to my channel!

Lets hang out!

I have the most annoying hair problem in the world and I feel like I'm, not the only one. So I wanted to share this with you guys, the back of my head all the time, no matter, if I do my hair straight curly, whatever the park just splits - and I know like the part whatever it goes all the way back here, but no, my splits, All the way down to the crown, I absolutely hate how it looks. I always end up with my hair in a ponytail or a messy bun, because I have that split there and I'm so self-conscious about it. And I was like you know what I want to enjoy. Having my hair down, my hair is longer now I want to enjoy having it down, and I don't want to worry about that split. So I decided to figure out how to get rid of this annoying. Annoying problem once and for all - and I figured it out and honestly it's so easy that I feel a little ridiculous for not knowing this up until now, but really I've never had this. Until I became an adult like when I was younger. I never had that problem, but anyways, I'm going to show you guys today how I think's best foot, that's how you can there is hope, so what you want to do is actually grab the hair at the crown of the head, where it's splitting so usually it's Like just about over here, this is where my hair is splitting, and this is where the problem is. So it's usually just about this much once I have my hair, I'm gon na go in with a little bit of hairspray. Today, I'm using the joy Co joy mist just that what it's called joy mist, firm, hairspray, I'm just gon na spray, a little bit on either side of that piece, just gon na. Let it sit for a minute. Let it dry keep it up there. I'M gon na go in with my flat iron next, but you don't want to put your Flatiron right on here that you just sprayed because that's just gon na completely fry it once the hairspray is dry. I'M gon na go in with a flat iron. So my hair is curly, so I don't want to fly down the whole thing, but I'm just gon na grab it from the side. Like this I mean it go an inch or two up and do that one more time. So I'm just gon na leave my hair like this until it cools. So you know when you curl your hair and you have to hold the curl until it's cool so that it actually stays in your hair yeah same thing, so I'm just gon na hold this until it cools just so. I know it's really setting properly and then I'm gon na go in with a comb and just slightly back home that I don't want to back comb it too much. We don't want to look like. We have a bump it in our hair, just backcomb it a little bit and then just smooth it out with my fingers. Then you can add a little more hairspray if you just want to make sure it's gon na hold in that position, and once you're done that split in the back of your head, it should be a completely covered. I love how I said I had curly hair in the beginning of this video and it completely fell flat by the end. At least the front is still a little bit curly, but the back is pretty flat. That'S okay, though, as long as you guys got the tip of how to do this, I'm so excited that I found this because, honestly now I can wear my hair down confidently and that's all I really wanted, but I still do have trouble curling. The back of my head, so if you guys have any tips of how to successfully curl the back of your head, I don't know why. I just can't do it. Maybe it's my t-rex arms. I can't get back there. I don't know, but I can never curl the back of my head, so any hairdressers out there anybody that's really good at hair. Please give me some tips of how to make sure my hair is curly all around. I just want that nice beachy wavy look, but the back always falls flat. Anyways, that's it for me today. This is a pretty short and sweet video, but if there's anything else you want to see, let me know down below and while you're down there don't forget to give this video a thumbs up and don't forget to subscribe to my channel. I try to upload as often as possible it usually it's like once a week but anyways until next time. I'Ll see you guys later

Madison Ford: THANK GOD THIS IS NORMAL CUS I THOUGHT I WAS GOING BALD AT 18

Deenah Ab: I thought I was the only one with this split. ive been obessing over it. I'll definitely give this a try! xx PS: guys I left this comment two years ago and just realized 701 people came here and are the same. sending good vibes to all of you

Claudia Hernandez: I thought I was the only one with this problem. I was obsessing over it. I knew I’ve had it for a while but lately I’ve been noticing it a lot more and it was kind of depressing me. It looks like a bald spot. I will definitely try this out. Thanks for posting this

ks2303: I'm watching this video at 3am my time, because I was yet again obsessing over my hair split. Had no clue it was this common, was freaking out I'm going bald. It occurred out of the blue last year, and I'm sure I lost more hair stressing about this. Glad to find this video, not so much for the styling solution, but to find that I'm not alone. Thank you!

Emily: Everyone kept making fun of me saying I have a bald spot and it’s made me so insecure, this videos just helped me realise I’m not the only one

Hannah F: I’ve been doing some reading up on this and I’m pretty sure it is called a double crown. The hair grows in two different patterns and causes the gaps. I discovered mine about a year ago and I have been so self conscious of it ever since. I’m constantly touching where the split is to make sure it’s covered. I never wear it down anymore but even when I tie it up it still splits!! I think it looks even worse when it splits tied up so now I’m out of options. I thought it was something new that had started happening but I’ve since figured out that I always had it, just my hair was a lot thicker up until now so I never noticed. It is so thin these days it gets me down and I don’t know how to fix it.

desidoesdeals: Thank you so much for sharing this tip. I have the dreaded back part as well and I’m so self-conscious about it that I’ve literally worn my hair in a ponytail for over a year.

Olivia Graham Make-up Services: I've had this my whole life and only just discovered it. Why did NO ONE EVER TELL ME?

bri talbot: anyone else bummed the solution is hairspray, flat ironing and teasing or is it just me?

Angelica Reyes: I noticed this a year ago and I thought I was just going bald I'm glad I'm not the only one with this problem. Definitely going to try this.

el mariajin: I just recently started having my hair split like this, but mine is more to the side of my head, ive been stressing about it because I thought I was going bald. My hair is one of the few thing I was really confident about and now I'm becoming insecure about it because of it

kimberly pawlak: I thought I was losing my hair!!! My hair just started changing (almost 30 now) and I was freaking out because I have thick hair but I noticed this spot today and was hysterical, Thank you for this!!!

Kryssa NYC 🌙: I can't stress it enough how grateful I am for this video! I've become so self conscious about this that I've worn my hair up everyday for about 2 years! Could be more honestly So excited to try this

Nexo RBLX: to everyone reading this: It’s gonna be okay

Alexandria Chand: Oh my goodness I'm so happy I found this video. My part splits in two and it looks like a huge bald spot! I hate it. Sometimes my hair would look sooo nice and then when I look at the back there it is... all scalp showing thanks for the tip! Will try.

KB Collisionヅ: I never knew I had this until I saw my head on camera while sitting as an audience member and I was horrified. I’m going to try this

Jean Baer: Thank you so much for this. I am 66 years old and the swirl on the back of my head has gotten so bad that I was wearing hats. I would have never thought to put the iron in that direction. And I'm an ex hair dresser. LOL It also gives me great lift in the crown. Genius!

Hannah Lucia: I have this problem too! It drives me crazy! So thank you for this tip!

S H: Nice to see a young person with this problem. My hair seems healthy and thick, but I have that little split in back now. GRRRRRRRR.

Anne Mc: Omg I’ve been dealing with this forever! Thank you, it works perfectly!

Calhoun2: I loved this video. Thank you, girl! I have the same problem and I believe it's because I've switched to sleeping on my back to avoid wrinkles.☺️ I'm about to try your trick now!!

Sarah Kerns: LITERALLY SAME. I had it when I was little because my hair is wavy but after I started damaging my hair with heat and dye, it got so much worse and now that I’m an adult I notice it literally every time my hair is down and it’s so annoying!!! Thank you for this!!

Adriane: I developed a hard part in the back since growing out my hair, and what worked for me was thinning out the bulk below the part, since the hair now has more freedom to move around. I don't know if this is a solution for long hair, but for my short bob, it worked for me! I thought I was going bald.

joan baczek: It’s even worse when you have fine thin hair I cant use heat or hair spray

Heather Otto: My 8 year old daughter has this cowlick and it is so hard to do her hair so thank you for this video we are gonna try this today for picture day

Joan Hicks: I just tried this. OMG I can’t believe it. My hair looks great!! Part/cowlick whatever GONE! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

Teejay: Oh goodness! Thank you so much! I am 54 and my hair has thinned a bit at the front and I suddenly noticed something similar to yours on my crown. I was so scared I was going bald, but I think it has probably always been there but my hair just got a bit thinner and I could see it more. Plus, who looks at the back of their head, so it's probably been there for ages!

Critsey Rowe: I have struggled with this forever! I tried this today and it works so well!

SnarkVictory: THANK YOU. Me, my mom and my grandmom ALL have this. It's hereditary I think; I tried this and it worked You are a life saver I thought having my hair in pony tails was making me go bald!

Katie Huntsinger: When I was 12, I still remember 18 years later when I first got paranoid about this same exact thing! A boy was standing behind me in the lunch line and said “hey everybody look! Katie is bald!” A few years later, I went to a hair salon and asked her if she had any solutions. She said “honey I’m a beautician, not a magician.” I was mortified! A couple years ago though I finally started doing the same thing you’re doing and I’m not self conscious about it anymore!

RockGoddess: OMG I love you for this! Mine is in exactly the same spot! Thank you, a million times!

Jean Stewart: Hi thanks for your video. I have the split. To curl the back, use a round curling iron. Hold it vertically. Take each section, wind it around the iron tucking the ends into the curling iron. Release as you pull the iron away from your had. Pull the very back up and put it in the curling iron holding it horizontal. Small pieces get better curl. Some people spray their hair before curling it. I don't.

Sussan Martinez: Oh My Goodness!! Same here!! I never had this until I reached my 30s.. I have been sooo self conscious.. so uncomfortable.. I hate it. Will definitely try this whole combing backwards. I had tried blow drying it but that only works the very same day I wash it.. afterwards, with the natural hair oils, it starts parting again!!!!! uuuuuggggghhhhhhhh anyways, will try this. Thanks for this video ♥

Lucy in the sky: I'm 43 and it just started happening to me. I would use a ton of mini bobby pins to hold it in place but then the split would separate the hair on the right side of my head. Most people think I'm in my early 30s but the bald spot started to make me feel so bad I'd have panic attacks getting ready to go out. I know it sound superficial but I take care of myself (diet and exercise) and my hair made me feel inadequate. I also have very long hair that's actually thick and really curly except that one part. I can't wait to try this.

Eskimo in Alaska: Woman, I totally have that same exact issue! lol ❤ thanks!!!

Areli: I’m starting to have the same problem..I hate it! Thank you for filming this!

Janelle Loader: I've struggled my whole life with the back part, I tried this method a few years ago without much success. I found it would only hold together for a short time before it split open again.

Jennifer H.: Thank you so much!!! I have been so self conscious about mine, and your trick worked great!

Kate McComb: Mind blown! I know this is old but I just found it!! Ps. My tip for getting the back really curled nice is I start from the back and work my way forward when curling my hair! I also do two layers, splitting around the circumference (?) Of my head

Min Yoongi: I really wish my hair wasn’t like this. I’m so tired of someone in my family constantly insulting my hair because of it, it’s lowering my self esteem

KMBeauty: Omg thank you for this!!!!! I have this and I constantly feel like it’s showing great video

Stephanie S.: I've always had this, ever since I was a toddler! Having short hair hid it but whenever my hair gets past shoulder length it becomes very prominent. I've always just thought that even though I have thick hair I must be doing something to cause a bald spot there (despite there obviously being hair there).

Steph Bate: Wow! This is amazing. Thank you for sharing this girl ☺️

Pretty Lippy: Just incase anyone is interested in why it happens, it's usually because you have a double crown. Both myself and my husband have it.

sarah: Same exact issue here. I have thick, dark curly hair. My hair is also layered. Idk if I had this forever but just noticed it last week and I’ve been so depressed thinking of it and legit thought I was going bald. Was going to even set an appt with a dermatologist . But my mom and friends said they think it’s a cowlick because i don’t even lose hair! Glad I’m not the only one

Lacy Ngo: I will definitely be doing this! Such a great tip!

Mac: Thought I was the only one, so glad I’m not. I am so insecure about it because one of my friends pointed it out calling it a bald spot. I CANT STOP THINKING ABOUT IT.

Theresa Shay: You have NO idea how much I appreciate this video!!!! I have the SAME problem!! THANK YOU!!!

Marie Molloy: I thought I was the only one with this issue! Thanks for the tip!

michelle e: omgggg this only recently happened to me a few months ago!!! it’s so annoying and makes me so self conscious bc i’ve never seen anyone else with it especially around my campus and i don’t wear my hair up so it’s such a struggle. it also hurts sometimes like it feels sore when i try to mess with it

love fun: I have exactly same problem and always ended having pony as u said... and i thought i am the only one blessed with this lol.. thanks for sharing this tip. And it made me more comfortable to know there are more ppl with this dreaded back part.

E Bkkr: Curling tip for you, have a large wide or full length mirror behind you at an angle so you can see the back of your head when you are curling the back, makes a huge difference for me anyway. Plus helps while you hide the cowlick. I have always worn my hair long and not that it is cut to an above the shoulder shag POP goes the cowlick... Super annoying so thanks for your trick. Appreciate it!

Tee Tee: I also never had this problem when I was a kid . I am glad I came across this video . I have thin fine hair , so I don't really do much with it . I will have to give this a try .

April Robinson: Thank you! I also have this problem since I have gotten older. I tried everything and nothing worked so I'm going to try what you did just now today I think it's going to work! I'm so glad to know that I am not the only one with this problem. That's why I always wear my hair up in a bun but no not today. I'm going to try this! Thank you for posting this!

Wyatt Wolfe: Girl I have the same problem with mine. I'm def gonna try this!

rachel piss: i discovered i had this about a month ago. apparently i’ve had it for a while but it’s just recently got more noticeable. i personally dry my hair over the spot so it cover it but that only works because of where my part is. personally i also am gonna try and train my hair as it goes to the side not the middle. but yeah always dry your hair after washing instead of leaving it wet as personally it makes it MUCH less noticeable

canbee crafts: You have no idea!! I just discovered this on my hair, and I never had it as a child either !! I thought I was losing hair ? Thank you so much

itsumani33: I have fine wavy/curly hair and I noticed the same thing happening at the right side of the back of my head. It would be very visible whenever I leaned over to pick up stuff Q_Q It made me very self conscious at work but it's nice to know that it's a normal thing and I'm not balding haha (I'm only a 24 yr old woman this would be shattering to me)

Lady: My hair is so beautiful, healthy & shiny and i have that annoying split in the back of the head also and i am always trying to fix it,feels like i rarely leave it out because of this problem..thanks for this video.☺

Angelica Subil - Travel, Beauty & Vlogs: Thanks for d tips! I have two lines behind my head and its annoying and it makes me so insecure

nikkismustanggt: Thank you for posting this! I have the exact same problem!

EC: My coworker’s hair always looks amazing and she said she puts two ponytails on either side of her head, and curl it like that

Trang in Canada: Oh my fluff, I do have that part too. I thought I was bald the whole time!!! Thanks so much

Shamelex: Ever since my hair grew out, it looked fuller and thicker than ever except for this ONE spot. I thought it was balding ugh thank you

AlyssaLGervais: I thought I was the only one with this issue!! Thank you!

Ashley H: OMG Thank you!! This is so helpful!

Shelby Love: Yes! I thought I was just going bald glad to know other have this issue!

camie uwu: I noticed it when I got trichotillomania but now that I’ve stopped pulling that spot for almost a year, it’s still there I thought it was a bald spot that never grew back but now I’m relieved that it’s not just me I was depressed

Fallon: Thank you I wear clip in extensions and the track always shows at the top because of my cowlick. This helps so much.

Sue Goff: I realize that I am a few years after this video, but I have been plagued with this horrible part on the right side of my crown for about three years now. I have asked two beauticians if it could be fixed and both said no. I even thought about getting some extensions put in and trimmed to my hairstyle!!

gabrielle nichole: Omg me too!! I have long hair and I feel like it looks like a bald spot even though it’s not!!! Thank u for the video!

Loanne: I have the same problem but worse because there's two and my hair is a bit thinner than yours. But thanks for the tip, I'll have to try this

Mississippi Mud: Thank you ,I learned something useful today

Courtney Spivak: I hate that! Happens to me all the time - I also sometimes put one hair extension in back to cover that bit and blend it - my hair refuses to be retrained. Maybe I’ll try this!

Spare me the Dramatics: You can also do a Reverse Perm on that spot. With the perm solution in hair keep combing it straight so that it stays in that position

The town I live in: I'm a little surprised at how many people didn't realize they had a cowlick in the back. I'm in the habit of checking my hair from all angles when I'm styling it. I guess I thought everybody did that?

Vita Secundus: Thanks for this. I'm deffinitely trying this on my weird af split.

BG Smith: Exactly! No matter how I do it hair I’ll think I look good then feel the air on that part and reach back…agh. Such a simple non-threatening thing but causes so much angst. Thx for sharing

J P: This is a pretty good tip. But also time consuming if you're in a hurry. So I wanted to ask how you can solve this problem permanently without using any sprays. Like for most people the hair just doesn't split like that.

jiminz_gurl: I finally found a person who has the same problem as me! It started when i became 17 and its been 5 years and no sign to grow back. So i do the same thing everyday. And its really annoying!

Donna Phillips: I have the same issue and thought I was alone !!!!!! Thanks for your video !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! God bless you

Debbie Spinks: Same here, I guess we all have that dreaded part on the crown. Drives me crazy! I'll do what you said!!

Grizz_YT: this is my first time growing my hair out ive been thinking i was going bald for the past 8 hrs XD

Trin Murray: I have been experimenting and using a round brush to dry it the direction I want my hair to go also helps. Just do thin sections. It's probably harder to do on yourself than her method. But her method doesn't always work for me. Also brushes with the rubber tips seem to help...

Trina Montano: Thank you for not having a 3 minute long intro talking about what you’re going to be talking about lol

VR G: It’s definitely not a bald spot. Braiding that back hair at night has helped me with this problem, but I’ll also use your method in addition!

S S: I never had it. It appeared couple of days ago and I am completely depressed about it. Definitely going to try this. It’s good to have hope

Connie Cumming: I have this problem too.. especially noticeable that I am letting my hair grow gray. My solution is a product by schwarzkoft called “dust it.” I sprinkle it in that area at the root then back comb a bit and it form a little reverse nest and then smooth it over with my hand, you can also use it for volume in other areas, always at the root and a you can continue to activate it with your finger tips through out the day..hope this helps.

itgirl: yeah we can hide it and all but i just want to find out how to permanently remove it :(

mylittlespot: thanks for the tip! I was afraid I was losing my hair!

Patricia Evangilisti: I have the same thing. Its frustrating.. I use root cover spray and it works great.

Mysteries With Pippa: Literally thought it was just me I’m gonna try this! Xx

Donna Johnson: Thanks so much not even my hair dresser could solve the problem After she does my hair she shows me in the mirror with the bald patch.I leave feeling depressed. Thanks for your time.

Lisa Romo: I have 3 of those on the back of my head (technical term is hair whorls, swirls or crowns). My grandma would call them remolinos (I probably spelled it wrong so don't judge me) and I usually fix it by spraying water on my hair and using a hair dryer to manipulate the pattern as I dry it again and that normally fixes it for me. Then I use hairspray to hold it in place.

waj9876: 26 year old male with fine long hair here. I've got this kind of thing though it isn't as noticeable until I sleep on it. I can see it before I shower in the morning, but even with clean and dried hair it's still noticeable if I shine bright light on it. Worried it might be a sign of balding, but it might not be. Everyone I've asked says it's just my part and it's normal, that I've just got fine hair and that's making the scalp under my parting more noticeable, and I've got the feeling it might have become more visible since I went a few years letting my hair get really really oily and sleeping on it a day or two before washing it multiple times a week. So it's possible I've just damaged my hair somehow and I need to take better care of it. Really hoping it's not a sign of balding, not sure what my chances are since the men on my mom's side of the family didn't go bald, but the men on my dad's side all went bald except for my dad which is interesting. I could be wrong and I could be starting to show signs of balding, which is why when the whole social distancing thing is over and I can go out again I'm booking an appointment with a dermatologist to look into this. If it is something like that I'm going to do my best to stop it and make it look as good as possible if I can't.

Joanna M: Great tips and lovely long hair!!

pieceofparadox: I grew my hair out pretty long for the first time in my life and now I have this. I freaked out because I thought I was going bald in that spot but I guess it's just the way my hair splits.

kelly: This is such helpful tips! I don't have this problem but my friend does. I'll send her this video :)

monica be.: I have this split too. i hate it . I use Lóreal magic retouch( MAGIC ROOT COVER UP) after I washed my hair and is dry. iI use my natural shade( medium brown ) and works pretty well at least to camouflage the spot

Trin Murray: Have you tried a dry shampoo or a texturizing spray to help hold the curls?
