So you've been growing your hair out for a while now and are looking to experiment with different styles that involve tying your hair. However, you're unsure on where to start, you might not know what accessories or products you need the technique itself or even if your hair is long enough to even begin considering these sorts of styles in this video we'll be covering all of the above and more. But before we do a quick message from today's sponsor surf shark subshark offers an affordable and easy to use virtual private network, which is commonly referred to as a vpn. Possibly my favorite feature of surf shop. Vpn is being able to access content which wouldn't originally be available from your physical address. By simply connecting to a remote location, say from the uk to the us, you now have access to content which wasn't previously accessible. One subscription to surfshot covers all of your devices. No other vpn provider offers this. This means you're able to have search vpn on your mobile. Your laptop, your desktop and so on. Vpns are quickly becoming an essential tool for online browsing. We'Ve locked down easing here in the uk i'll personally be making the most of public wi-fi in coffee shops and local shopping centers. It'S where i feel most productive and creative as cliche as it may be, but by connecting to these public wi-fi's without a vpn you're, putting all your personal information at risk, we're talking, bank information, your photos, videos, personal data and so much more find out how you Can get 83 off your first subscription, plus three months free by following the link in the top of the description? Okay, let's tackle the most pressing requirement when learning to tie your hair hair length learning to tie your hair begins with at least six months of hair growth for a full bun you're, looking closer to 12 to 24 months, but by six to nine months, depending on Where you initially started growing out your hair, you could begin experimenting with a half up half down bun, which personally, i am a fan of. I don't think it's the most wearable in everyday situations, but it's a nice way to get motivated to continue growing your hair by having a play around with it. Roughly this time last year, i posted a tutorial on a full bun, which was just about when i could tie all of my hair together. It worked and again was fun to experiment with, but because of insufficient hair length, i was limited to a low tight bun. Two years into growing my hair, i now have a lot more flexibility, and so that's roughly the time scale you can expect to weigh when and if growing out your hair, so you've established that you have a sufficient amount of hair length to begin tying. Your hair, but what accessories do you need to keep things simple and replicable? I'M only going to be recommending two: a hair brush and a hair band. Try not to over complicate things here. Hair ties vary greatly, so use whatever you have or whatever is available locally to you. Okay, if you already know how to tie your hair, this section of the video may seem overkill, but you'd be surprised at how many requests i get to show and explain. The actual process of creating a bun first you're, going to want to brush your hair, having not free hair, will give you the best results, as well as understanding on how to effectively tie your hair. In regards to the process itself, your goal is to bunch all of the hair on your head in a position that either your hair length allows or wherever you'd prefer, the shorter. Your hair, the smaller and lower your bun will be, as your hair gets longer. You'Ll have more flexibility to move it around by preference start by getting comfortable with the hair band that you're using. I use my dominant wrist and hand when tying my hair, but this could be different for you. Try practicing this switching hands technique. It'S super simple and will be the method you use at a faster pace when tying your hair simply grab some hair and switch hands to grab more and repeat until you have all of your hair into an untied grass. The wrist with the hairband on will be the hand that holds the hair throughout the duration of the tie. Your other hand is responsible for wrapping the band around the hair. I do two loops, which involves a little bit of wrist action. This most likely won't be something you have to learn as it feels pretty instinctive. This might take some practice, especially to get it to look consistently how you'd like, but with a little bit of perseverance, you'll, be able to tie your hair exactly as you'd like in only a matter of a few seconds. Lastly, it's important to realize that we've only covered the most basic of buns in this video different buns serve different purposes from a function. Point of view tight, low, buns suit activities, which involve a lot of movement such as running, there's, also an endless amount of styling options when it comes to tying your hair it'd be impossible to cover in this short video. The best way of learning more about your hair and feeling confident in your choice of style, is by trying it for yourself. As always, if you enjoyed or found this video helpful, a thumbs up is greatly appreciated subscribe. But until then i will see you all in the next one. Take care guys bye,

Jacob Collins: I've been growing my hair out during covid at basically the same rate as you. Each of your videos have been perfectly timed for when I needed them lol

Zach: You’ve been guiding me through my hair growth. Thanks man. You introduced me to the hair world and now I know just how much hair says about someone. I am happier with my hair then I have ever been now.

Todd Elmsworth: As someone who’s had their hair grow out for over 3.5 years, I can say you’ve gotta think outside the box for tying back the hair into a bun. Once you’ve put your hair in a loop, with the hand that the hair tie has transferred into, twist it and extend your hand so the loop is being held by the hair tie while your dominant hand is still holding the loop you made with your hair. Then weave some your hair through the tie until a suitable length of hair is now a part of the loop. With the remaining hair, use your dominant hand to wrap it around the base of the loop above the hair tie, then with whatever is left of the hair tie, try to slip the end of it in, so the wrapped hair stays bundled. This was my best way of describing my experience, my hair is long, so for anyone that has basically 80s metal rock hair that resembles a member of Metallica, then try this tutorial. This could work for people with shorter hair, but like the video said, at least 12-24 months of hair growth

Bree z: I've been here for 3 hours still tryna figure out how tf he ties it.

JulCom: I don’t know why but i feel like Luca comes from a place of relatability and wanting to help people improve themselves, vs other lifestyle YouTube’s like alex costa where his wearing thousands of dollar clothes and using extremely expensive products and the video almost feels like a massive flex. Keep up the wonderful videos

Nick O' Teene.: I've been growing my hair for 1 year and 6 months and I don't like to do a manbun on me but as always I get inspired by you so I guess that'll be my hairstyle today.

Jesús Salas Castellanos: Thanks Luca! I just crossed the one year mark and I can tie all my hair in a bun (still some flyaways though), now I’m looking forward to a 2-year hair just like yours so that I can have more flexibility with it. Thanks for the inspiration!

Gothel: Ever since I was a young boy, I wanted long hair. My mother would never let me, but now I have super long hair. So glad I’m finally able to do things myself

Sandeep Chandra: This motivated me several times and I finally grew it out fully

Danilo S: This is actually very helpful, ngl. I've been growin my hair since early 2019, a lil bit longer as yours atm. Very happy about the results and way more confident bout my visuals. Cheers and thank you for the amazing content and inspiration :)

Might Guy: 11 months ago I watch this video for the first time as I wanna grow my hair like this guy and 11 months later I can’t wait to do what he did in this video in a months time❤️

lukeylol109: This helped so much thank you! I kind of felt lost in my hair and didn't know what to do, I didn't know how to do a bun but now I do and I feel amazing f so thank you!!! Also what do you say when you go to the barbers? I have similar length hair and don't really know what to ask for or how much it will cost? Thank you

Olly Sk8z: Dude thank you so so much u have taught me how to tie up a man bun thank you I love my hair and u have taught me how to get out of the awkward stage :)

FUTURE SOUNDS: Thanks man! This video is especially helpful for me because I have the exact same hair type accept mine is blond so I can easily relate all of your tutorials to my hair :D

Anastasia: Thanks for the tips bro I have been growing my hair for 5 months now maybe in a few weeks I will try the half bun looks dope! But at same time it’s not easy cause I can see that I’m hitting the awkward stage soon

Exi: I’ve got really poofy hair and I find it hard to keep it looking ‘clean’ for long. What would you suggest other than just hairspray? (I dont necessarily like my hair to be hard)

Tom Joseph: Thanks Luca, I just have one problem ... when I tie my hair into a bun higher up at the crown the hair at the back of my head become saggy, it’s never stays tight like on the front of head... any solution for that?

Colony08: Thank you, I really appreciate this video, I have been always wanting to know how to tie a man bun.

Rol M: I've grown my hair since Feb 2020 and right now my hair reaches my collarbone. However, I stopped playing around with it or putting it up on a bun since I noticed I was getting a lot of hair fall compared to when I had shorter hair. This is longest my hair has been ever so I was excited to get my hair long enough to do the half bun half down hairstyle but I was worrying how much hairfall I'm noticing. I shampoo less often and I am more careful now with how I clean and style my hair. Now at the hair length that I have, I just accepted the fact that I'm losing more hair now than when I had shorter hair and mess with it but I'm making sure I don't pull too much.

Billy Reed: Do you have any thoughts/tips for growing hair out in the summer? I'm kinda worried about getting uneven tan lines on my ears and neck because my hair falls over them at this point.

DuckWitDaDripp .-.: Close to hitting 10 months! , thank you for your guidance along the way

Nathan Gomes: Reaching 12 months in another 28 days Thanks luca for all ur support and tips♥️♥️keep it up♥️♥️

Juan Pak: I've been growing my hair for a year now (started from a buzz cut). I'm able to tie my hair but the "bun" is still on the onion stage hahaha. Really nice video Luca, good to see you back again ❤️

SK4M: I've finally managed to grow my hair long enough now to have it tied at the bottom of my hairline at the back but find it hard to make it a bun and not have straggly bits hanging out, its much more comfortable now and doesn't pull tight anymore trying to get it all in, the longer it gets the better imo at the moment. Now I'm 44 and just need to grow a beard!! It only grows in a goatee style and little tufts on my cheek and neck. My wife says I've still to go through puberty!!

Uneak_187: I’ve had short fades my entire life. I’m 30. When the pandemic started I just stopped getting hair cuts. I’ve got a good 7 inches of hair right now. It’s crazy fun to have my girl do Viking braids lol only sad part is I should have done it sooner

Irvin Shmervin: I enjoy your videos, I'm a year and half in growing my hair out and I wish I would've seen your videos sooner lol. Keep up the great work!

Roll 16 Ritik Kumar: Hey Luca, your contents have been really helpful. I appreciate your work. Also, can you make a specific video on sideburns? I have issues managing them with long hairs Love from India.

Sidharth Kapoor: Thanks for this one mate , this one came right when I needed !

Tillly Jackson: I’ve been growing mine for four years and I usually do plaits braid ponytails or loose buns but I never got into proper buns

Disban: love ur content bro ! been watching for a couple of years and your vids are pretty sick and useful :)

dihNeRo: I have a undercut and the way you tied your bun was amazing bro. my issue is for some reason I I always pull all my hair through and it kinda looks dead lmfao gonna try and loop the band through my hair until I have the muscle memory to do it like a god I love the circular shape.

Elad Greenfeld: Been growing my hear for 7 month and watching u for day 1. Alot of inspiration and encouragement. At the front its already in my mouth

Vlad Botos: Thanks ! Now how do i get the tie off without ripping all my hair off ? Thanks, the hair thanks you too :)

Captain: I love having long hair, to me it just looks better, but the problem for me is that I hate havinghair on any part of my face so I either have to have a ponytail or bun or else it bugs me if it gets on my face which it usually does.

Alt: I've had long hair twice: up until I was 19, and now. I've always had trouble pulling back _all_ of my hair, like you do in the full bun video, without a brush or comb. How does one do that?

Ian Balido: Thank you for this video! I have been growing my hair for about 2 years now and I love it!!

Raul Rangel: i live in a very hot place and usually wear my hair iin a pony tail, but today was so humid and hot that i instinctively tied my hair in a bun, but it looked awful, i remade my bun after watchin this vid and it really looks so much better now, thanks for the advise

Anonymous Caveman: I had a haircut where its a bit shorter but by the way it's cut will help when it grows out. Good video my dude.

Rich Rise: I’ve been growing my hair for two years and bun it everyday, but it’s awful compared to the way you bun yours. I wish you did it a bit slower. I’m having trouble learning how to bun it fresh like that. Subscribed. I’ll be digging around your videos for some guidance!

Fuaida Amreen: Thanks! I have been trying to do this for so long! Though I am a girl

Philip Louis: A little problem I had when I grew my hair is I suddenly developed dandruff. Any tips on how I can get rid of it without damaging my hair? I've been growing my hair for 11 months now and this problem, I'm afraid, won't go away anytime soon. Btw, love this video!

BiggyUffy: Any tips for when my hair starts to get oily too quickly? Most of the time it's already oily and shining on the day after I washed it

jamanak123: Since I have my hair upto my thigh, been growing it for 3 years and 6 months now, I tie my hair differently from this. I comb my hair first, then have a hair bind on my wrist, and grab my hair closest to my skull, and grab the remaining hair and wrap it around to the one I have being held with my other hands until the end of the remaining hair is tucked in through the band it is forming, then grab the hair band that has been on my wrist, secure everything with it and there you go... perfect man bun. Of course my is bulky because I have a very long hair that reaches my thigh.

Ãmaankhan: Im speaking this with experience growing long hair is in itself quite a journey it's been a year in last December but beleive me it's worth the wait I had smoothening done in 2020 but now when I see my 2years older photo i just laugh like why did I did it but we learn from our mistakes and now when i see my natural hair straight at at top and little curvy at the bottom I don't a have a problem with that I just said to myself maybe I come in a category where I have both straight and curvy hair it's not always liked by my elder brother and i always say This to him Hey.. you have better hair then me but still you keep them short. please beleive me when I'm saying this brothers let your natural hair grow as it as give it time. It will really highlight your personality #longhairsupremacy

DyingLight_DyingFight: Thanks man needed this, have no idea how to tie one really

Joey Figueroa: I can't believe I've been grown my hair for 2 and a half/ 3 years and I'm just now looking for this lol
