Hello, everyone and welcome to my show, thank you for hitting me up on facebook and youtube um. You know i'm very excited about the show um as well. I mean you should also be excited because it's going to be a very fun show this season. On my show, i'm going to be talking about um going from straight to natural and what that is is going from perm to relaxed hair, to to natural hair to wearing your hair, as you know, got intended. So, basically, when you decide to go natural, you have to make sure that something that you really want, because what what happens is a lot of people get discouraged because of family or friends or spouses? You know just telling them that it's not a good idea, because it's like a long process sometimes and what what happens is you know people get discouraged and they decide not to go natural anymore. They decide to just relax their hair. So the main thing you know when you decide to go natural is to really really want it. Once you really want it, then you know everything else falls into place. The first step you want to take is you want to decide when transitioning from straight to natural? What you want to do, do you want to there's two things you can do? You can either cut off your perm, the relaxed, hair and start growing it. You know natural just a little bit, because it's going to be like about half an inch to an inch. You know in length when you first start out, so you want to decide if you want to take off all the relaxed hair, just cut off everything which for me will be. You know just basically everything i'll be like you know, having a boy haircut to begin with, because it's not going to be it's not going to be long enough for me, so i basically want to take. I might just decide to take off all my hair and just leave it really short or i might decide to braid it and that's the other option. You can also braid it or do sister locks, which is just you know when they take the hair they twist. It and they twist it out, you know, and it looks like sort of like an artificial dress, so you might want to decide to do one of the two or just do you know extensions or cornrows, while your hair is growing out. The second thing i wanted to cover is that there are a few myths out there about. You know having natural hair. A lot of people tend to think that when you have natural hair, you know you can't comb it it's hard, it's unmanageable it. You know it's not stylable, but that's absolutely not true. A lot of people wear natural hair, the main thing when you have natural hair and you don't want it to be coarse and you don't want it to be unmanageable, is you have to moisturize it and that's where the deep conditioner, the line from african pride is A really good line - and i you know i intend on actually getting a few of the products - actually try out - tried out a few of the products before with my relaxed hair and they really really work. So one of the products that i want to introduce is the miracle grow. Now that's like a root stimulator and it actually aids your hair and growing. If you could see the picture, you know right here, you can see the picture so basically there's another there's another key thing to draw natural hair and that's conditioning and moisturizing. So they have the deep conditioner and shampoo in one and they have the skin and oil mist, which is just like a oil for your scalp, but it dries out. It doesn't stay in your scalp and the second. The third one is the hair lotion. The hair lotion is also like a pink oil moisturizer, but it doesn't have any oil in it. It'S just moisturizer for your hair and your scalp, so it basically also dries out. So that's the key thing grease is not good for your hair. Grease weighs your hair down, it makes it dirty, it absorbs all types of dust, and you know grease is not good for your hair, so don't get greasy, always try. Moisturizers lotions, you know things that will dry out after a while um. The next thing you want to do is set a goal for yourself: how long do you want your natural hair to be say? Okay from this time to this time, i'm going to start january 1st 2011 and i'm gon na end december 31st, 2011, and i want my hair to grow from you know one inch all the way down to about eight or seven inches. That'S my goal. Basically, my personal goal: i want it to be, you know all the way down to here, and hopefully you know towards the end i'll probably get a texturizer to weigh it down a little, because natural hair tends sometimes to stick up depending on the volume of your Hair and the the you know the texture of your hair. So basically i want it to weigh down and just be like about seven or eight inches above my shoulders. That'S my goal, so you want to set your own goal if you watch, if you don't like long long long hair and you want it to be, like you know a little bit under your ear, it depends on the style that you're going for too a lot Of different faces, you know, there's a lot of different faces and face structures, so you just want to choose one, that's right for you. So that's my personal goal. I think that you know will fit me, but the fun thing about my show is that you know i'm gon na be going through the process with you, so you're gon na see me like almost bald. You know because i'm gon na be taking off. Hopefully you know i don't wan na promise, but i wan na say that i'm going to try to take off about half an inch to an inch every time i air the show so that you can see my transition. I'M not just going to be talking. You know talking talking talking, i'm going to, you know, put some action into it. So basically i'm going to be taking off an inch like, i said, every show hopefully i'll be able to take off the energy. If it's not growing, quick enough, then i'll probably take off half an inch just to show you that i'm in it with you you're not doing it alone. Okay, because i know how hard it can be when you're, you know hoping that your hair goes at a certain speed and it doesn't because this is what happens. You know to me when i was trying to grow up. My hair took a longer time than i expected and you know when you're young, your hair grows out really quickly because you're active and you're eating and you're healthy. So it grows out really quickly. But as you age, it kind of slows down in the growth process. So, that's why you want to, you know, set a goal, but don't really be. You know too much of a stickler to it, because it might not happen the way you expect it to happen now. The second thing i wanted to talk about is um. You know when your hair starts to grow out, you're going to have a teeny weeny after i call it twa abbreviated, teeny-weeny afro. So basically the tinarini afro is sort of like a short little afro like pam greer. It'S gon na be little at first, but you know you could blow it out. You could comb it out. You could twist it into um sister locks. Like i said or braids you can have it braided cornrowed any way you want. You know to aid you with the transition. If you don't want to keep it like a teeny-weeny afro, you know i plan on curling it um. What i plan on doing is the two-strand twisting comb, which is just taking two parts of your hair, and you twist it like this, when it's natural, of course, you twist it like this and you put a little gel and it kind of holds it, and you Dry it out and you take it out. It just looks like a little curly. You know if my hair isn't already curly, who knows how the texture of my hair is gon na, be i'm not really sure so, hopefully you know it'll come out like that, but for you i don't know what you want to do. You might want to do the crinkle set and switch out, which is just you know. You braid your hair, you set it with a little gel, you dry it out, and then you unbraid it and it looks like you know. A little wavy is kinky is cute. You know for certain hair types. The third thing out on the next style that you might want to try is the flat foot which is just them taking your hair and twisting it like this into a flat twist. So basically my show is going to be a lot of fun. I'M going to have a lot of live models. I'M going to have you know a lot of different people come on and try out different styles on the show, so i'm very excited and i'm going to say thank you once again for tuning in and hopefully next time i'll be taking off an inch of my Hair and you'll get to do it with me. Okay, if you have any suggestions, please hit me up on facebook or youtube any suggestions, any products. You want me to try anything you're scared to try yourself i'll, be willing to try it. So you know you can suggest it to me on the show on my page. Okay, all right! Thank you.

Patricia Gaspard: FYI a texturizer while fully natural may not be a good idea cuz it isn't natural and has a lot of harsh chemicals that breaks your hair like a perm. if you would want to have a looser curl patter while fully natural you can try the Brazilian keratin treatment which is natural. I just did it to my hair. it leaves your hair straight but you can go back and forth between curly and straight, P.s you dnt have to cut all your hair off you can wear wigs, weaves or half wigs or a blow out
