Everybody is maker - I am coming to you today with a hair accessories video, but I want to come in and show you all what I use on a regular basis. These are not necessarily all the hair accessories that I've ever used, but these are the ones I pretty much grab daily. Being that my routine is pretty minimal nowadays and I don't really buy a lot of hair accessories anymore, because the ones I have have lasted for such a long time, they don't break, they don't tear up and when you find accessories like that, it's like gold, you, It'S just if you run across any of these hair accessories, give them a try. You might like them give them away if you don't like them, but these the ones have been tried and true for me for many many years so without further further ado, the first one well actually the first. I want to show you this. What I have in my hair right now today, I just got off work, so I just came home and I want to show you all. First, the front of my hair. I have a halo of frizz in the front of my hair and back when I first went natural in 2002. I did a lot of gelling and slicking down my edges because you know that's what everybody did. You know we were afro puffs, but I'm not really a big baby hair person. I mean, of course I wore them in the 90s, but now I really. I can't do all that slicking and brushing you know I'll use a toothbrush to get a few little flyaways. Like better right, like on my skin, but as far as looking down baby hairs and making sure my front is perfectly smooth and slick, I don't really do that anymore, like the frizz is going to be there and it is what it is. So I first I want to show you the halo of frizz and the front of my head and excuse my spotty forehead. But, as you can see, my hair in the front is not it's not naturally silky or smooth or anything like that. It'S just kind of frizzy and you know that's just how it is and let me get a little closer shot. So you guys can see and I'll tell you all about the parting of my hair in just a second. But I want to first show you that, and as far as that, I'm sorry about this glare coming from outside. So, first I want to show you that, and the reason why I park my hair most of the time like this with ear to ear and then maybe a part here and then apart. Here is once again, because my hair is extremely my scalp. Hair density is extremely extremely extremely dense and I can't slick all on my hair back into a ponytail. I can't slicked all of it back into a bun without sectioning it and then pulling it into that bun or that ponytail or that updo. You all have seen me do it before in my half-up half-down video, where i think i went from a bun to a braid out or braid out to a bun whatever I did. My hair stays in these sections or you are purposely letting my hair stay in these sections, because it's easier to work with them when the hair is condensed or packed together, as opposed to it being all big and bushy and long. If I'm going for a style where I want all my hair to be out and big, like that, I'm I will be prepared to have a lion's mane, because it is that thick and big and dense. I am not complaining whatsoever. I praise the Lord for my hair, but on a daily basis it can be a little overwhelming if you have extremely dense hair like mine, or an extremely dense scalp like mine. So anyway, I just want to say that little tidbit, so the accessories I have my hair right now. Are you seeing them before the ouchless flexpa rets made by good eat the big one, and I have another big one? That'S brown and I've had this one actually for a long time. I don't even know if they make this color anymore. This is like a taupe color and it's I actually bought this one at Big Lots years ago before they became super duper popular again, and I probably had this one, for maybe I want to say yeah. I'Ve had it definitely for over a decade over 12 years, because that's how long I've been married - and I bought this before me and my husband got married - that's how I remember buying this one. It was a dollar fifty back then at Big Lots and I bought more than one, but I gave some away to friends and glad I did because they probably still have them too. I don't remember who I gave them to, but these things are great. They do not tear up, as you can see, they flex back and forth and Bend, and they just they conform so well to our hair at Walgreens, and I bought like a whole bunch of them and gave them away to my little cousins that are teenagers and They, you know they're getting to learn their natural hair and anything that I find that works. For me, I pretty much try to pass on the information, so goodie flex Perez are what I have in my hair right now and I'm going to show you. This is a black one, that's in my hair in the top, and then I have another one here, that's brown, I don't know if you can see it and then back here, my hair is in kind of like a French roll updo, and I have my steel Or metal you pin inside of it and I'm going to pull it out in just a second give you all the good shots, my hairstyle for the day. Alright, I hope you all saw that and I'm gon na go ahead and pull this upin out. So you can see how I did my hair today. So there's my you Karen and then I'm gon na just take out this first flex barrette and then I'm going to take out the second flex barrette. So you can see what I have going on back here. All right, so my hair was, I rinsed it last night, and this is the bulk of my hair right here. It'S a very very thick, but it is condensed right now, but this is the bulk of my hair and then this is the top section of my hair. Then I part out, and then this is the third section I hope y'all can see that top crown back and underhood. So that's how I do my hair a lot of times. Um. If you see me on the street, that is how my hair is gon na, be it's gon na be in some kind of updo or bun because of the thickness and density of it, and I really like it when it's packed together and it. It really helps to mold the hair when you, when you've already convinced it, if that makes any sense when you've had them in a braid out or a twist out or some type of stretch style, especially and you use these flex barrettes. So I have a black flecks barrette brown, flecks barrette and then the taupe color Affleck's barrette, and then I have big ones and the little ones now the you pan. I have two of them. You saw these in the previous video. This is the big one, got it on eBay, you can look up updo, pins or anything like that and find it, and this is the one that comes out of the con air or scuzzy Styles, kits that you see and size comparison brown black. These work great. Both of these are made of metal and they're, smooth all the way around no teeth, no, nothing to snag on your hair. These are wonderful another hair accessory that I really love is my hair fork and I've showed you this in another video. I was using it to part my hair when I was twisting my hair, because it's got a sharp part on the end and it's good for parting, the hair it broke right here. It'S this was actually handmade. I got it from a seller in Hawaii off of Etsy or eBay. I can't remember - and I think might have been Etsy, but it's made of the type of wood is made of it, but it's really pretty and I've had this one for years, the only problem. I'Ve had out of this one is that it the the wood kind of had like a little dip it in there. I can't get it focused, but I filed it out. It was no problem and just used some sandpaper and filed it out to save it and the part that broke. I just filed it down and it's back smooth again and I'm going to attempt to show you all how I usually would do an updo with a fork. I usually will put two accessories in my hair at a time. So let me put the black one in just to show you how I would camouflage the top accessory and, let's see if I can get this fork in here. You just want to twist your hair up like so and bring it down tuck it in there like that, then take your hair fork. You want to push it in like this and if you're not secure, if you don't feel secure in the hairstyle, just use a few bobby pins and stick them in there. I don't know what this looks like, because I'm just doing this for you all for the camera, I'm not looking in a mirror or anything. So that's usually how I wear a hair fork when I do wear my hair fork and, of course no accessory kit is complete without bobby pins. Of course, regular old bobby pins like that usually use those to reinforce my hair when I'm wearing an updo, and you do not want to forget headbands headbands are wonderful for when you're doing buns. I cannot remember. I think I got this one from eBay as well, or I might have got it at a local retail store like Target or Kmart, not sure, but I love these type of headbands that are loose and these are not really to hold the hair back once again. Nothing is holding my hair back, you know, I remember my halo of frizz. Nothing is going to hold it back. These are just more so for show and I'll usually put my hair in a bun and see. If I can do that, real quick for y'all and when I wear a bun, sometimes I'll also use the bigger flex Verret to put my hair in a bun instead of using a hair scrunchie. If I can't find my scrunchie, so let me try that, for you, I'm just going to flip my hair upside down and you saw take your flex, bread and it holds all the hair yeah. You were a ponytail. You can put it up a little higher in with a ponytail or just take it and bun the hair up like that. Stick a bunch of bobby pins in it. I'M gon na stick one in for now, because I'm trying to do this really quick and then take your headband and put it around the front of your hair just to give the style nice little look and, of course you wouldn't wear this. You would cover that. Like just a second, let me see if I can make this look a little bit more movie, we'll go for the style instead of like that. So you'd want to put your headband on right in the front, make it neater than this, of course, and just pin your hair around that flex barrette. It also gives a lot of lift to where you don't have to do much and just wrap your hair around the Flex barrette. It'S really. It'S really versatile. The flex. Bread is really really versatile. Okay and let's see, I also wear the Flex bread backwards, I'm wearing an updo or something or putting my hair in a pineapple for the night, instead of putting it on this way, I put it on backwards. You just put this part in the front. Instead of the back - and you get a really nice pineapple when you put the bar part of the grit in the front and I lost it in there there, it is, and you can wear it like that too. It gives a lot of volume to where you don't have to do so much to keep the hair in there. Okay, so those are the Flex barrettes and my headbands and another accessory that I really like are my flexi eight clips. Now these are no longer called flexi. Eight clips. These are called little rose flex clips or something like that. I'Ll put the name of them the real name on the screen. I don't know what happened if they were sold or whatever I don't know, but I own three of them. This is my oldest one. This is an extra-large and to show it in comparison to my large here's. My large I've had my large for about two years. I'Ve had my know: I've had my large for about a year and a half. I'Ve had my extra-large one for about ten years. Yes about ten or eleven years, and I've had this little thing for about six months now, this thing has lasted forever. The only thing that's wrong with this: it's got a little discoloration around. You probably can see it. It'S blurry, but let's see yeah, you see that discoloration, the blue, that's the only thing, that's wrong with this for it, but this barrette is ten years old and it's made so well. It'S you know that the Flexi a karmani. This is the old yeah. This is an old one, and now the new ones say look elros that is but the old one says: flexi ENCOM WWWE are common, the other one says elros. Not so those are my quick via clips and this is called the Flex flexi. Oh, that's what it is, and these are the ones that they look just like the flexi eight. They just don't have the pin on them, and these are mainly for like to put at the end of a lot like if you are in a braid in the front of your hair, and you put it on the end of the braid. Just as an adornment and they come with two sides, one side has the beading on it, and the other side is silver with flowers and they make these in gold and multicolored, and all of mine are just silver and clear are like neutral colors, and I bought My mom, some of them they were great in her locks. She has an extra extra large, which is like a mega size, and then she has two large ones: okay, this were mainly for people who really really are terrible at ponytails, and you just take your comb and you just take the punch set holder and put it On your comb, like that - and I want to do this in a half up because doing it all in my hair - not gon na work out too good for me right now, cuz I'm trying to rush hey, just take your calm that has the punch a hole Already in it, stick it in your hair and then just take the ponytail holder and bring it around to the other side of the comb. Now you do have to work with this a little bit to keep it from being tight, but that's the gist of it and your comb is in there and it's holding your hair back and you can pull all your hair back like this. However, you want to do it and take it out and you're good to go but, like I said, be very careful with these, because these are not very strong as far as this plastic. So that's what I want to come in here and show you all hi, hair accessories and the things I use on a regular basis. When I'm doing my updos and my protective styles - and I stop my hair with my accessories - whether my hair is down and out or if it's up in braids or twists, so I hope y'all enjoyed the video. I hope you learned something and until the next one bye you
