Blowout On Natural Hair | Curly To Straight Tutorial Using Revlon (Beginner Friendly!)

Thank you so much for joining me today with my frizzy little curly bun. Today, I'm going to be delivering a very highly requested video. I promise this to you guys a few times and done one before, but I wanted to do kind of an updated version. Let me show you guys how I take my hair from my curly frizzy thick coarse mess to a really sleek and pretty blowout. It'S super simple, very inexpensive products and tools will be used in this video. You know when you go to the salon and they have a brush in one hand and a blow dryer in one hand and all sorts of Contraptions yeah. That is not for me. I spend enough time on my hair and I'm just not trying to do any more than I have to. This is a perfect hairstyle for the holiday season. We all love a Sleek holiday Christmas blowout, we're gon na go ahead and get into it. First of all, let me show you guys what my hair looks like my hair is on a very, very strict schedule on Sundays. I'Ll always do some type of ayurvedic at home. Natural ingredient mask so I'll. Do this hair mask and wash my hair on Sunday, then I let my hair dry 100. I think that the mistake a lot of people make when it comes to doing blowouts, especially if you use the Revlon one step airbrush, which is what I use on my hair. If you are using heat products and heat tools on your hair, when it's wet, you're, literally cooking frying, destroying all of the above, my method, the one that works best for me is doing it. When my hair is a hundred percent dry and obviously this is going to vary based on your hair, texture and your type, I can't really say that this is going to work for everybody, but my hair is very textured and curly and it works for me. So right now my hair has no product in it. Nothing um it's just kind of a big frizzy mess. I will also be showing you guys some of my styling tips like if you have bangs or long layers, anything like that there are certain tips and tricks that you can use when styling your hair, to make it look more voluminous and give you that famous holiday Blowout look also before you guys ask this: top is from Emil, which has quickly become one of my favorite Brands. We kept it really simple. Today I have castor oil in my brows and lashes and on my lips, my famous lip combo that I'm always wearing in my no makeup days. This Euphoria blush - I just use it as a lip oil I'll just put this on in the morning and then put on a moisturizing lip balm. Today I have on the Laneige gingerbread lip mask. I also love the pink original one um, but gingerbread, because you know it's a holiday season. Lush is actually really cool. It changes to your pH anyways. Let'S move into the tutorial, I just brushed my hair out and she's giving pris I kind of like it, though, like it's kind of a vibe honestly, this would be cool for a photo shoot or something quick break to think today's video sponsor case. Okay, so, firstly, I'm gon na go ahead and section off the top part of my head, just kind of go behind my ear and section off Thanksgiving Lord Shiva. If you know you know another thing that I will say about getting a nice healthy blowout is, you do actually have to take good care of your hair, the healthier the hair, the better it's going to look when styled. That'S just you know the truth of it. So again refer to my ayurveda care care series. If you want to see some nice natural masks that you can do in order to improve the quality of your hair as far as heat protectant goes, I've recently been using this one from Moroccan oil. You can just pick this up on Amazon, so this protects for up to 450 degrees, Fahrenheit also Argan, Oil, infused and y'all know me. I love any type of hair oil situation, so I use the heat protectant and then I will always pair that with the serum. This one is from Coco and Eve. I love this if you guys see little white flecks in my hair. That is because I didn't aloe vera hair mask yesterday and I didn't strain the aloe vera beforehand. But for my heat tools I use this Revlon airbrush. Mine is kind of falling apart, like as you can see, I've been using this for like a year and a half. I definitely need to get a new one, and then I use this flat iron. It'S from a brand called neuro. I will also have this Linked In My Amazon page, I'm not too picky with my straighteners, because I just kind of use this for finishing touches around my roots and my bangs, so we're only really going to use this at the end, I'm just going to show You guys how I do one piece of my hair and then we're gon na fast forward through it for the sake of your ears, but it's a really simple process. Nothing crazy! So I'm just gon na grab this, like one inch section of my hair and I'm just gon na do this while it's off and then you guys will see so I'm going to place this at the root of my hair and start moving down and because my Hair is so textured and coarse. I have to do this a couple of times just to sort of get it to tame. Then, once my hair is straight, I'm gon na put this at the base. Again, as you guys can see, just a really simple wrap motion and kind of followed that all the way down twist at the bottom. Now, a lot of people will do this type of twist at the bottom and then hold it and release it. You get kind of like this perfect blowout. Look. I don't like to do that. I think it is unnecessary damage. If I do want a more curly, bouncy blowout look, I will replicate it with either a straightener or a curler. Bottom layer is done. We'Re going to work on the top now. What I do is I kind of section it off like this. So I'll just start with this piece, you can use these little rat tail Combs to get a more even part, but I will basically just like keep doing that until I get to the middle and then I do the same thing on the right hand side. I also have very weirdly grown out bangs right now, so I'm going to kind of see what we're working with and then I'll show you guys how I style my bangs. Thank you. Now we're going to do the face framing pieces, slash bangs, Okay, so I'm gon na clip the rest of my hair back and just work with these bangs just gon na spray. A little bit of this heat protectant into my hands, and I like to use a flat iron for my bangs just to make sure that I can get all the little Parts this length. So I'm just going to start out with the longest piece and clamp. A few times pull down and I'm going to give it a little bit of a flip at the end. So the little flip that I do on my bangs is the same thing that I will do to my entire head. If I Want That Bouncy blowout that I was talking about earlier, so as you can see there, we go what I'm gon na do is give them a little bit of Bounce and volume. I like to open and close a few times with the roots and then, as you guys, can see, I'm just doing this motion. Okay, so I'm just gon na do a little flip and sometimes I'll just kind of tap it out all the way to the bottom. So I've styled my bangs the way that I want to kind of going for, like Jennifer Aniston look today I'll, take a little boar, bristle brush and just smooth everything out. This is one of my favorite products. This is called the closer from Amica and it's just very conditioning I feel like it helps mend any split ends or anything like that. So just gon na warm this up, Amica is probably one of my favorite hair care Brands. So, in order to maintain this throughout the week, because I only wash my hair once a week, what I like to do is maybe touch it with the dry shampoo on day four or five um. I have a couple of favorites. This one is from Amica as well. This is the perk up dry shampoo, also the Redken jumbo dry shampoo. I love because my natural hair is very textured and curly. I noticed that my hair just tends to curl up a little bit so throughout the week. I might just make my blowout look a little bit more curly by hitting it with a curler or my straightener, and when I do that this is the hairspray that I like I'll, just Mist very very lightly. I love this one by Paul Mitchell. This is the flexible style super clean spray. I love this one because it is a very flexible hold meaning it doesn't feel very crunchy or weird in your hair, another styling product that I love is this Amica top gloss shine spray so that right there is kind of the extent of the hair products that I will use on my hair when I a blowout, as you can see, it's very simple minimalistic.
