My Stylist Teaches Us Cute & Trendy Japanese Valentine'S Hairstyles

Hello, my kitties, it's hello commander and i'm here today with natalie who's, been my stylist for a few years now we are at number 76 salon in tokyo and today, natsumi is going to be teaching us how to do some really trendy, japanese hairstyles. So, basically, in my shop, these girls come wearing like amazing kimono and they always have the most intricate hairstyles and i was like you know what i really want to learn how to do those, but i don't know how to figure out myself they're so intricate. They look so difficult, so i messaged that to me - and i was like - please teach me how to do this. Of course. Thank you. Sorry. Today we will be teaching you a few hairstyles. I really hope that you will find this video useful, because i definitely will mostly this is for me. I just really want to do this big credit to aries higashiguchi on instagram. We got a lot of our inspiration from them, so definitely check them out if you'd like this kind of hairstyle like seriously, when you see these hairstyles, you will understand completely what i'm talking about they're like messy but neat. At the same time, it's like so trendy right now to have that kind of look, and i just don't know how to do it myself so today, nancy will be very kindly teaching us. Okay, let's get into it. Okay, so the first hairdo we're gon na do is one where she basically puts a ribbon through the back of my head, and i looked at this and i thought that looks pretty easy. I'M sure i could do this myself and she was like no. This is the number one most difficult. One is so first she's just curling the so so, as you can see what she has done is she has tied this ponytail quite high up on my head actually, and then she has left these little dangly bits right at the bottom, for the brief that she's Going to then tie up so that's where we're at right now so right now, she's just braiding the bottom little bits that she left out and then she will tie it into this winter that she just made work on it. So what we have now is we have two twin towers and we have these little braids going up in a v shape up to the twin tails. So now we have this pink ribbon here that we will weave through my hair, which is apparently the hardest part. Now, she's just tying it at the top and making a little ribbon. Okay. So now we're going to do is we're just going to go ahead and curl my fringe and then it's pretty much done. Okay, so, as you can see, this is our first hairstyle. I think it looks really complicated. Nasami said it's really hard to do, but i think if you get someone to help you with the ribbon, you can really easily do this at home. I don't know, i think it looked pretty easy to do. Yeah today is easier. Really easier to do with the wig yeah yeah yeah, okay, that explains everything. So i think she just had a lot of difficulty with the wig, because wigs don't have natural hair distribution, so it's a little bit more difficult. So i think, if you do this yourself, your arm might end up hurting a little bit, but otherwise it's so cute. I love it. It'S like one of my favorite trending hairstyles in japan right now so cute. Thank you so much. Thank you. Let'S do the second one yep, okay, so the next one is really interesting in that she will be basically making ribbons out of my hair. I think you can apply this to so many different hairstyles, i'm really interested in seeing how she'll do it, because i'm so confused. Looking at the picture, she's starting by tying up half my hair into two half twin tails, like so okay, so she has put my hair into two half twin tails and now i'm interested to see what she will do. She'S putting in some styling cream, which helps hold the style into place, and i guess all we can do now is watch yes, okay, we're going to share that one more time, because i'm so confused what she just did: okay, okay! So i'm putting the styling cream in one more time which i actually think i'm gon na buy today, because i don't use this, she makes the shape of the ribbon from the hair that comes underneath and she pins it into place right here. Let'S see that one more time, so she takes the hair from underneath the twin tail and then she pins it into the shape of a ribbon. And then she uses this thing again to take some hair from the from between tails um and she passes that hair through the middle. So it makes a ribbon. This one is harder than the last one, i'm so confused about how she did that. But it looks so adorable, let's fix up the front a little bit, okay, so here's the hairstyle all finished now this one i found way more confusing than the last one, the last one i can see why it's difficult, but at least i understand on some level What she was doing with this one, i think i'm gon na - have to watch the video over and over again to actually understand what was happening here. Okay, so the next one is one, that's kind of similar to one that i've already shown you guys before, where you make a little heart, but this one's a little bit more complicated. So we basically take that principle of making the heart and make it even more cute, so i'm very excited to see how nothing for me hi. Thank you. Now, let's begin okay, so she put some styling cream in and then i believe, she's going to braid it. Yes, yes, oh she's, doing a little french braid at the front, so she only french braided this part here. The rest is just a regular braided scene. So, what's really popular in japan right now is to pull out some hairs when you braid it kind of makes it look like you have more hair than you do. It kind of adds a lot of volume, and it adds to this, like messy tidiness, that these hairstyles have so she's kind of just pulling out the hairs so that it makes the braids bigger than it actually is. I really recommend you do this trick. If you braid your own hair as well, just because it does add a lot of like volume and a lot of cuteness to it, and it's such an easy step to do so. Definitely try doing this yourself, even if you just do regular braids and she just kind of leaves that for now and now she's forming the heart. So she ties the hair kind of upside down. As you can see, and then she splits it like this, as you can see - and she twirls it to give it a little bit more - what's it called to hold it in shape, and then she ties it at the bottom to make a little pop. This is easier than the ribbon for sure. Don'T see that oh she's tying it to my hair but she's also adding some of the hair. That'S not already in the tie, as you can see, so it kind of stays attached to my head. If that makes sense, but then she brings the braid that she already made around and again she uses this crazy device to pull the hair through into the same hairband that she used to tie the hat into my hair. So, as you can see, i think that was a lot more simple than the other one. So far it looks more complicated, but to me the steps were more simple. I really want to know what you guys think. I think the fact that we take the braid around just makes it look a lot more complicated. It'S such a cute hairstyle though we added this big bow to it, but obviously you can do whatever a hair accessory. You think looks best. I feel this is going to be a hairstyle that i'll definitely do by myself as well, because it was actually not that difficult. In my opinion, definitely let me know your thoughts in the comments. Let'S move on to the next one, so next we're doing one. That'S kind of similar to the ribbon one and the hot one we just did it's essentially two french braided, twin tails and then at the end, there's two parts which really shows how versatile these are. You can really add them to any kind of hairstyle that you want. So please please so. First she's just going to braid the first top half of my head. It seems like she's doing a little bit of a french braid right at the top, and then she pulls out some of the hairs again just to make it again, as you mentioned earlier, add a bit of volume and add a little bit of that messiness. So now she's just tying the little braid that she made and now that she has made the second one. We are just going to go ahead and tie that up as well. So you kind of turn it upside down. As you can see and then tie, then she ties it again to the rest of my hair so that it stays in place and that's pretty much it. I feel like the heart is a pretty simple concept and once you understand how to use it, you can pretty much put it like in any hairstyle and just add a little bit of an extra flat, we're going to add ribbons to the bottom. But this is optional and you can pretty much add anything you want if you had any other hair accessories that you would like to add, and so this is our next hairstyle. I think it is so adorable. I think, because of the heart, this was such a good, valentine's, tester or like a little date or something i think it's like a really romantic look, and you can see how you can basically use the same elements as the previous hairstyles. You kind of put them into your own style, so go crazy, like just use them like in any other hairstyle that you would like. Okay, let's move on to the next one. Okay! Next is a little bit of a twin tail style of hairstyle, but it's very much again that kind of really messy but purposely messy. Look! That'S really trendy in japan right now, so i'm excited to see how you do it, yes, boy! So now that she has messily curled off my hair, she is splitting it in half and she's tying it a little bit low, especially compared to the first winter. This is quite a low tide, she's pulling out a little bit of hair just to give it a good. What'S it called structure just to make it look nice and now she's tying another hairband a little bit lower than the one she originally tied. As you can see, and then she separates it and she takes the other one and she pulls it in through the middle like this, as you can see, to make a messy little bubble kind of thing and she does that all the way down. So, as you can see, she has made these little baubles on both sides. I think it's so cute already, but just add a little bit more of a romantic look, we're gon na add some red ribbon, just because it's very valentine's day, it's close to february. So we're in that mood okay, so this hairstyle was really simple to do, but it took a long time to do the ribbon. So definitely leave yourself a lot of time for the ribbons, but it's so cute and you can wear this with more casual, looks or more like girly looks. I think it's just so adorable. I do do this hairstyle quite a lot in the summer, but i'm thinking, if i add these red ribbons, it's so wintery, so perfect, valentine's, i'm gon na. Do it a lot more from now on? Let'S move on to the next one, okay! So the next one is different in that it's a ponytail. Now i don't often wear ponytails, but i've noticed this ponytail style is so trendy in japan right now. I see it literally everywhere and i don't really understand what it is, but basically they tie a ribbon around the ponytail and it looks a bit different. I really i don't understand actually what the hairstyle is. So i'm definitely excited for nothing to show me. So i can kind of grasp what they're actually doing to the hair more and maybe i'll, be able to wear that ponytail, because it's such a cute style. So please go ahead and show us yes, so she's, currently separating the top of my head and she's clipping away the hairs that she's not using right now. So basically, what she's doing is she's twisting the hair whilst braiding it so that essentially, she braids a twist into my hair. This is like super complicated. I don't even know if i'll be able to do this by myself, so you can definitely do the front. A little bit differently, if you feel like it, because that's not really the highlight of the ponytail, the ponytail itself has like its own special way of being done, but this is a really cool way to get that again, that really messy trendy look. That'S like really popular right now and she pulls out the hairs again. This is like a really important step in these hairstyles. They all seem to have this stuff and then, as you can see, she's basically tying the bit at the top that she separated and putting it all together. So only the sides are twisted in there. I have no idea how she is doing this. I think this might be the most difficult one whatever well, you heard her. If this is too complicated, you can just do a regular braid. I think that's what i would be doing if i was doing this by myself up until that the couldn't do fun stuff. That'S been pretty okay, i mean actually, no not really. I don't understand what happened to that. So this is definitely the most complicated one. I find the hearts and stuff a lot easier than this there's so many steps to it, and now she places the ribbon in the hair, which is really the most important step and the step that i noticed when i look at people's hair. It'S like, oh, my gosh they've got like ribbon going through that ponytail. So this is the final hairstyle. This one actually took longer than all the other ones. It was quite complicated and had a lot of different steps, but if they were too complicated, you can kind of just switch them out for your own stuff to get kind of the same vibe. I think it's really cute but like in an adulty way, especially if we change the ribbon color to like, maybe like a green or something like that. It can be like a really adult kind of still romantic still very cute. Look. So if you're someone who's trying to get a little bit more of an adult, i would definitely recommend this one and that's it.
