Am i just dishing out all of my insecurities in today's video hello, guys, welcome back it's my channel and welcome to today's video. Today'S video is going to be a little random, something that i don't do very often on my channel. I'M gon na be talking about my hair. I'M gon na be sharing my favorite hairstyles that i like to wear to frame my square face and to make it appear smaller. Over the past couple of years. I'Ve been getting comments on my videos. Asking me to do. A hair tutorial show my favorite accessories because you guys know i'm all about my hair accessories, so i would describe my face shape to be square. You guys can correct me if i'm wrong again. I don't really know what i'm talking about here. I don't do a lot of hair videos and i actually don't know what is actually flattering like by the book, but just me being on camera for the past seven eight years you kind of see things that you wouldn't see in a different job. Let'S just say that, and through my journey on youtube i really have grown to like my face, shape um. It'S mainly more of like my faith in with god, like just accepting who i am and how he created me. But definitely when i was younger and i think, with asian beauty standards, you know, i always thought that i had to have a long phase with a v-shaped chin, um, which i literally have the complete opposite face. When i was in high school, i would buy face masks that would like you know, give you the v-shape face. You know the one that you put around your ear like a mask. I would buy that because i was really insecure, but as i've you know grown on my channel as i've grown in age as i've grown with my faith, i've kind of just really accepted it. Obviously there are days where i'm like you know. Sometimes, if it just looked like this, but for the most part i am okay with it and i think it gives me a little bit more character. So the way i'm telling this video i'm not saying that a square face shape or a bigger face is not beautiful, it is um, every face shape is beautiful, has its own charm. It'S just you know what i do to make it look a little smaller in camera. You know that was a really long, intro, let's hop into the first hack, the first tip, and the first tip is to curl your hair. My theory is the bigger your hair looks the smaller your face is going to look because your hair is bigger. Your face will look smaller if that makes sense. So i didn't do anything to my hair. I washed it last night. This is just how it air dries. It is fairly straight. So, let's just say you know i try to do like a middle parting. Let'S just say i leave it like this. I feel like when my hair is straight because it's so flat - and it's like stuck to my face it emphasizes my face - shape a lot more, but i really don't wear my hair straight anymore. You know i would have to have like a really good hair day or a good confidence day to wear my hair straight um, especially on camera all right, so i'm done curling my hair. Now, what do you guys think this is not styled or anything? Do you think my face already looks a little smaller when your hair is just a little more fluffy, but now i want to share some of my favorite hairstyles, so moving into a tip two is always having accessories. I don't know why i feel like when i have something in my hair, so the first hairstyle that i really like to do is just taking a claw clip and taking some of the pieces around the sideburn, taking it to the back and then just clipping it. There and then i'll take some of my front pieces out. I like cut some of my hair to fit my fake bangs, but i'll do this, and this is a hairstyle that i like to wear a lot. I feel like just taking those side pieces help frame the face a little bit. I don't know um, and it looks like this from the back. I wear this hairstyle a lot when my accessories don't match my makeup, because you guys know i always love to match. My makeup, with my accessories to my clothes, so for a look like this, i don't have a lot of darker accessories, so i would probably wear my hair like this all with a headband. You could go in with these head bows. I feel, like you, got ta like more of a girlier style to wear these, because i don't think these would be for everyone um, but this is what it would kind of look like the next style that i like is it's not a style? Really it's just having a headband on your head at all times. This again just creates that illusion that your hair is bigger, so making your face. Look a little smaller. So this one is pretty big um, this one's a recent one. I got from your style. Don'T you think, as soon as i pop that on my face looks very small now, because my hair is curled, it's floofy, it's big, and then i have this thing on top. I will, of course, link all of my accessories down below in order of the parents, but yeah. This is one of my new favorite ones. I like it, especially because it's black and my hair is black, gives more to the illusion that my hair is bigger. Love that i'll wear some of my other favorites. Of course i have to mention my pro headbands. You guys know. I wear these all the time, even though this pro one is a little smaller. I don't know just something about having a headband in your hair. Like you, just it's just a must, and then this one is a little bit bigger. So again adds to that illusion. Um this one. I don't wear too often because it does roll down, but i have these two here: um like a saturn type of headband love. These two i like to just frame my hair a little bit like this. These are probably like my go-to headbands that i wear the most often i don't know just something about a headband and curled hair. It'S like chef's curse, it's so easy and then the next hairstyle i used to wear all the time. I don't wear it so much these days, but it's still a go-to hairstyle. Nonetheless, so i have these little flower hair clips and i actually have a whole pouch of them. Um in this pouch there's actually like other hair clips as well, but it's mainly those flower hair clips. I just have a lot in a different colors. I don't have like a burgundy one, so i'll go with the red hair clips and what i like to do is just go from here and just take a little bit one on this side and then you could actually take more and put it throughout your hair And for some reason i feel like this little hairstyle again just elevates my hair a little bit higher, making my hair looking a little bit more fluffy. So that way my face can look a little smaller, but every time i wear this hairstyle, i feel like it's bulletproof, i feel very confident in it and i feel like it's a really great way to match your makeup with. I think it's super cute. These hair clips are very affordable. I bought these first off yes style and then i got more colors off aliexpress, but i'll link both down below and i'll. Even do this when i braid my hair, because it like kind of gives more volume up here i mean you could obviously tease your hair, but i don't do that and i'll also put a photo here, because i'm not going to braid my hair, but i did This hairstyle really recently it was mainly inspired by jessica voo, but pretty much you just braid your hair, how you normally would, but instead of braiding it all the way down, i stopped it halfway and then had my curls come out and i feel like that, looks Better than me braiding it all the way, which i still do, love that look that just flatters my face shape a lot more. Sometimes i will put my hair into half high ponies like this, like this i'll give you an idea like this i'll put a photo here when i wore it. I definitely have to have a good hair day that typically works better on second or third day here, but anyway. That is pretty much all the hairstyles that i like to do that. I think frame my face. The best today i'm gon na go in with my pearl headband, because i think i don't know it looks good with this makeup look, but that is going to include today's video. It was a little bit more chill. Very quick just want to share some tips and tricks with you, so if you guys did enjoy this video and you found it helpful if you could give it a thumbs up for me, i really appreciate it so much. This might be my last hair video in a while, because there's not really much more. I could share, but thank you guys so much for watching. As always. I love you guys so much and i'll see you in my next video bye,

Elli: Honestly, hearing you talk about your insecurities (many if which I share) and the tricks you use to help yourself feel more confident is so comforting to me. I also really relate to, and appreciate you mentioning, your confidence growing with your faith. One of the hardest things for me is wanting to be "pretty" without feeling bad about the way God made me. I cant imagine that either of those things are easy to share, so thank you!

SANDY223: My hair is rarely ever straight too. If I am going to add heat, I'm curling it!! Love the idea of adding accessories to a look especially the headbands. Hearing you talk about your insecurities but still embracing them gave me such a comforting feeling.

Yuki Saeki: I love this video. I have a big square face and I’ve always been insecure about it. This is so relatable and I appreciate the tips! I need to go buy some cute headbands!!

Dana: Loved this. One of the best tricks I saw for giving hair volume at the roots was to line your curling iron or flat iron up with your part and do a tiny lift and curl just at the root section. It gives the perfect lift without having to tease your hair.

Lennox Trancy: Thank you for making this video, Judy! Your hairstyles always inspire me to play up my hair; I’d neer to learn how to curl my hair first lol but i really cant wait to recreate the styles you’ve shown here!

Marcela: your hairstyles (and you in general) look gorgeous!! as someone with a heart shaped face i've always struggled with my lack of definition on jaw/my really big cheeks. the v shaped face/the slim jaw has always been something i found pretty, but like you, i've come to accept and like my face throughout the years!! love the content you showed on the video!!

Lindsey Luper: thank you so much Judy!! you’ve been my favorite YouTuber for years before finding your videos i hadn’t seen someone who looked like me doing makeup. i’ve learned so much from you!! sending love from the united states✨

ashley O. lost: As always you look stunning. As a person with a square face as well I’ll definitely have to try some of these styles.

catphoood yt: Oh yay! I have a square face shape, so this is perfect. ❤️✨

Ivy: You look so pretty as always + loved the bow headband! I’m a square-faced Asian too (tho your face doesn’t look like a square to me!), and this was helpful, bc I always noticed the variety of cute hairstyles you’ve done across your videos, but I’m too lazy to do anything with my hair except leave it down or tie it up lol :’)

Alli Auyeung: We have the same face shape so it’s awesome to see your faves. Any advice for getting hair to stay curled? I end up with limp Asian hair within like 1hr of curling.

Babay: I’m an asian with a square face too! I also have very fine hair. I can’t even curl my hair because it’s sooo stubborn. I also want to remind you that straight earrings play the same role with straight hair Maybe ring earring will be better

Katelyn Nguyen: For me on usually tie my hair back and let one of My curtain fringe hangs it never fails to flatter my face in photos

Martina: The little flower hairclips hairstyle is THE CUTEST THING EVEEEERRR

Lorraine Whitlock: Hi Judy! I hope you're doing well and stop worrying about your face shape because you are beautiful inside and out and it shows

Chloe: I used to have natural wavy hair. I used to be insecure of it but once I gotten confident with it and learned to love it my mom wanted to straighten my hair because she felt bad about me tying my hair all the time. I was curious but also worried. At the end it made my face look bigger and I definitely regret it but at the same time I don't want to waste the money spent for it

P O Y O: Thank you!! Super helpful

Amberger Helper: You’re absolutely gorgeous. That’s not me being nice, that’s me being honest.

amberwings17: My main hair look is french braid it overnight and wear that wavy texture till my next wash. I'm also asian but my hair strands are really thick and slightly wavy so they hold whatever style I do well, thankfully. Maybe you can try out a different haircut and see if you can get more volume from your base hair. Like layers or more texturizing? I find that when hair is all the same length it looks more flat? I am extremely unqualified to make any meaningful suggestions though

The3GMom: so pretty! I love headbands, but they give me a headache pretty quickly.

Ana Quézia Santos De Sousa: I think that the curled hair softens your more squared face and the headbands give a allongate look to it, so it looks more oval and less like a square. Not that one is better than the other, but I believe you prefer a more oval look and thats why those changes in style work for your. But its just a hipotesis anyway

Ar: Can relate! I kinda hate how my square face makes me look older than I am and getting hit on my older dudes :(

farrah who: i am also asian, have a v similar face shape, and curl my hair all the time for the exact same reason haha

Zonnyzone: Oh gosh I'm so happy I have 4c hair!

Daria Wozniak: I have a square face and it really bothers me as I can't find a good hairstyle. Doesn't uncovering the face make your face look bigger? At least that's what I've always thought

Isabel Hernandez: I feel my head if too big for headbands but they are too cute

Karen Moreno: Look into cranial top hairstyles for similar hair styles like these

Apollinariya Volokhova: THANK YOU!

ilovetoomanythings: Yay you made the video so happy :) what about a video showing your go to lens? I know you love Olens as well as the mic drop line from HK :P

hweefern: Hey judy, one issue i have with self curled hair is that mine dont really last, not sure if its due to the humid weather here where i live, do u have any tips on how to make curls last? :)

Eunjee Kim: Oh I never thought u had a square face. And I think u still look very pretty with a straight hair. Curly hair makes u look glam, wheras straight makes u look more natural and effortless

cris: I also have a square face shape and flat hair. Not a good combination. Having volume in your hair would help alooooot. And also bangs! Bangs with volume would also create the illusion of smaller face. I think the half updo would just make your face look bigger.

The Junebug Girl: Can you link some of your accessories?

Mara: yes my face might be squary but my hairline matches it and makes it more squary,i hate it

melabby: I feel the middle part hairstyle doesn't look good on me I have curly hair

Sandy Bowers: I love how you mentioned your faith being an important part of how you see yourself❣️❤️❣️Knowing our Lord created us in His image is so key to our self love and acceptance.

Silver Tea: Asian square face squaad! ❤️

Lorène T.A: I' m not even asian. I'm black and come from the French west Indies but I think asian are beautiful. Judy you are so beautiful don't be insecure

Ngoc Nguyen: So I need makeup and fluffy hair to look good

Sebastian Michaeli's: Can you do hair styles that are not hair down cus my mom wants me to have my hair picked up .but I look bad with my hair picked up.plz

Jojo : Yes your face looked smaller as soon as you put the black hairband on

Chayanis Lee: I never find hairstyles that suit me lolol

cohper_mp3: omg what camera do you use?

Mally Flower: You are gorgeous and you face isn’t even the least bit big as you think.

cris: Judy the quality is only up to 360p :(

Ube Cheese Pandesal: Saaaameee here!
