Buying hair products is not like buying wine with wine, you can walk in the store and buy whatever you think seems cool or has an attractive label. Watermelon, champagne sure s'mores, flavored, dessert wine. Why not? You can buy just about anything. You want and still have an amazing wine night with your girlfriends. That'S a totally reasonable way to shop for most areas of your life, but when it comes to hair products, you've probably noticed that it doesn't work at all and that's because hair products are like putting together a puzzle, and it sounds really scary at first. But once you realize there's only four or five pieces that you need. It gets really really easy and if you know what those puzzle pieces look like, you can go out, grab them put them together and have healthy hair for the rest of your life. But if you don't know which pieces you're looking for or how they even fit together, you're going to waste a lot of time and a lot of energy on hair products that don't work when you go to Ulta or Sephora, the Hair Care industrial complex is going To throw a lot of stuff in front of you knew this knew that cool this cool, that all they care is that you drop money on stuff. They don't care if you ever actually solve your puzzle, they're totally! Fine, if that product that you bought, goes in your hair graveyard under your sink with the rest of the products that you never use, because they don't work so it's time for someone to show you what those puzzle pieces actually are and how to put them together. So you're not going in blind when you're buying hair products, I'm going to give you a strategy where you can go in find the exact products that you need and avoid the ones that are a waste of time and money. So, let's get into it. If you don't know me, my name is Chris: I own a hair salon called live, love locks where we test out products and bring the best ones to you and make these videos because way too many people struggle with their hair, and I don't want you to Be one of them heat protectants are an absolute godsend before they got good at making these it used to mean that doing curls or straightening your hair meant permanent damage. I was in high school in the early 2000s and those were kind of like the dark ages. For hair women had to decide if they wanted to do iron work or have healthy hair. Those were the only two options you couldn't have. Both it was lose lose because what good is healthier hair if you can't style it? The way that you want to so it was a major breakthrough when they came out with modern day heat protectants heat protectors today do way more than just protect your hair from iron they actually have hold, which means that your style will last longer your curls will. Last longer or your hair will stay straight longer and that's really important because you want to be working smart, not hard. You want to wash your hair style it and then wear that style for days until you have to wash again and heat protect this plate. A massive role in getting that style to hold for days and that's not all they do when you put them on your hair, they're heat activated to form a barrier around your hair and they've, found a way to make that barrier shiny. So your hair looks better than it would without it and for all the good products on this list. You'Re going to start to see a pattern, they're all going to do like three or four amazing different things and that's how we can get away with only using four or five hair products. That'S why the puzzle is small and easy to understand, because everything is pulling its weight. I want to introduce you to the magic of blow dry creams way too many people think that these are optional or that they don't actually do that much and nothing can be further from the truth. The overall idea is to have the best hair with the least amount of products blow dry creams number one protect from the heat of a blow dryer, but they also add to the texture of your hair. It'S going to be so much smoother and so much shinier. The look and feel of your hair is going to be completely different with these. They also help add longevity to your style, so you blowout lasts longer. The reason for that is they give it a smoother shinier look, which means it takes longer for the frizz to pull it apart and turn it gross, and when your style lasts longer you can go longer between washes life gets easier. It'S about working, smarter, not harder. Let the products do the work and, if you're still skeptical and the only blow dry cream you've tried is from the grocery store. I promise you try a real one. It'Ll make a big difference for you. When I first opened my salon, we used to have the same problem over and over a stylist would finish with a client. The client would be about to get up and the size would say. Oh hey, do you just want some hair oil for your ends? More than half the time they would be like, oh no thanks, they didn't want anything to do with hair oil, so we ended up changing the question. To do you mind if we just polish up your ends a little bit before you leave when we did that and showed the clients the difference in the mirror they would be like. Oh my gosh. What is that? I have to have that way too. Many people are sleeping on hair oil and I get it. It sounds like the last thing you would ever want to put in your hair, but if you choose to live a life without hair oil, you are choosing to have dull and dry ends and hair oil is not about slathering it all over. Your hair you're, using only a tiny amount, if you can feel the hair oil in your hair, you've used way too much and you did it wrong. Hair oil should only go on your ends to seal the moisture in there and protect them from breaking your ends. Are the oldest most delicate part of your hair? So you need something: that's pretty strong to help them out. Shampoo and conditioner may seem like a lame and boring category. But it's not what you realize that having the right, shampoo and conditioner unlocks the path to healthy hair. It'S super important that you choose a shampoo, that's a perfect match for your hair type for a couple different reasons: number one. The rice shampoo will help your hair stay clean for days. That means you save on shampoo, and you save on time that it would have taken you to dry your hair, and on top of that, your hair looks better and is healthier because you aren't constantly washing it stripping the oils from it and number two. You need to stop using shampoos that are made for teenagers the dove, the Aussie, the Pantene stay away from those those cheap shampoos are the number one thing holding people's hair back. They leave a layer of oil and build up on your hair so that all the other healthy hair products that you're using can't actually reach the hair and do their job. You need to be using a professional shampoo to get rid of that layer of grossness so that your other products can get in there and do what they're meant to do getting the right. Shampoo for your hair is a really big deal if you're not sure which one is right for you I'll leave a link to a video right up there. If you've been hanging out with me for very long, you know exactly what this last product is going to be. My goal in life is to help people have amazing hair, and this product is the foundation of that number one is leave-in. Conditioner always has been always will be. We all know the most basic hair products are shampoo and conditioner shampoo gets your hair clean and Conditioner helps moisturize your hair, but the conditioner that you use in the shower should really be called half conditioner, because it only does half of the job as soon as You rinse your regular conditioner out of your hair in the shower. Your hair has no way to hold on to that moisture. So when you get out and start drying your hair, it starts leaking all the moisture that you just put in there. It'S really bad! That'S! Why you need it leave-in conditioner? This is going to come in and form a barrier around your hair to protect it and seal. All that moisture in you must be using a regular conditioner in the shower and a leave-in conditioner after you get out of the shower. This is one of the situations where one plus one equals five. This will make your regular conditioner five times more powerful and make sure that your hair is properly moisturized dry. Hair is the enemy. It is not healthy. It is not shiny. You need to use the super combo and if you do, you will notice a massive difference in your hair. This is not optional. This is not nice to have. You must be using this. So now you have all the puzzle pieces to get healthy hair, but you're probably wondering why did that give you the exact type of product for each category, and the reason for that is hair is not one size fits all. Every product you buy must be matched to your hair type and that's different for everyone. If you don't match it, it's not going to work for you and it's going to be a waste of money. If you want to find your hair type and exactly which product from each category is the best for you I'll leave a link below for my recommended product list, it'll walk you through the entire thing. I appreciate you watching. If you have any questions, leave a comment below and I'll do my best to get back to you. We usually have an awesome conversation down there, thanks again for watching have a good one guys.

Blowout Professor: My Recommended Products :) https://blowoutprofessor.tiny.us/yckksuyt

Kelly M: I took your advice and started washing my hair as recommended. Also added back in leave in conditioner as I was using it wrong. My hair instantly transformed and my blonde hair has never looked better! Thank you so much, Chris! Already ordered the other recommended products and can’t wait for my hair routine to completely transform how my hair looks when I blow dry and style ❤️❤️

LMC: Would love for you to do a video on natural curls.

Lina Andreassen: Hi Chris! Thank you once again for an amazing video. I have a question about the leave-in conditioner; how dry/damp should my hair be when I add it? If my hair is too wet, it seems to slip off but if it's too dry it doesn't seem to stick to my hair. So, at what percentage of dryness should the hair be in your opinion for the leave in conditioner to work?

Juliana J. Garzon: Hi, Chris! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us. So far I've only purchased the leave-in conditioner and it has already made a huge difference to my hair! I plan to switch the other products for your favorites as the ones I'm currently using end. Question: Is it true that the hair gets used to the shampoo/conditioner and so you should change brands every 3 months or so?

Sho N: Hey Chris! I was wondering how can we "re-moisturize" the hair after a blowout? I wash my hair once a week but I notice that after like 3-4 days my hair is dry again I use a leave-in and I oil my hair every night. I have a platinum card blond hair

Jessi Baldridge: Hi Chris! I love the helpful videos! I think with your advice I’ve gotten the right products…but I want to make sure Im using them correctly and in the right order. Could you do a video showing how much of each product and in what order to use them? I want to make sure I’m doing my products - and my hair- justice! Thanks so much!

Zay Rubicco: Since I started watching you…my hair is sooooooo much more healthier ! It’s growing fast…down to my butt…and it’s SHINY!!!! I haven’t had shine in sooooo long! I’ve tried almost everything you recommend…I found my favorite shampoo nd conditioner are olaplex and redken!!!! I’m still working on my split ends …I don’t want to cut my hair

Michael Yciano: Thanks for the info!! 40 years of washing my oily hair everyday . Took your advice and now I wash 2 to 3 times a week and my natural waves came back. I thought I lost my waves do to puberty. A big THANK you!!

Лиля Овощ: Hey there, super helpful video, but I have a bit of a question: where I live there are barely any blow out crème’s available, I haven’t seen any of the products you recommend, are there any other products/combination of products that can do what blow out crème does?

natureskandy: Other than your usuals, are there any other brands/products in brands that you recommend for fine hair?

Andrea F. Campos: Wish you would recommend skincare too! I love the way you explain things

Maureen Seghieri: Hi Chris, I have very damaged over processed blonde hair. Years of damage. I have committed to following your program with olaplex products you have recommended. I am already seeing some results. I plan to follow this for at least 3 months. However, my roots are growing in. Do you think it will be counter productive to have my foil highlights, or ok? I really don't like the brown roots. Thank you.

Lulu: Seeing Curlsmith in the intro. That's what I use for my curls, but at that part you're talking about things that don't work and are a waste. Is Curlsmith bad in your opinion or was it just a random shot? I did buy the Pureology leave-in conditioner you always recommend, it's great :D

Maria João Megre: isn’t it okay to skip conditioner and use just a slightly bigger amount of leave in?

Ellen Francis: I love your videos! But I have fine wavy hair that goes limp when I use both blowout cream and leave in conditioner. Is there anything light enough that does both? I’m all about protecting but too much smoothing and shine leaves my hair with no body and too flat and straight.

Pietra Matina: Love your videos! What do you think of Biolage ultra hydra source line of shampoo and conditioner? I heard that sometimes your hair can have to much moisture. How can you tell if you need less moisture in your hair?

Pannika Sakulsorn: Hi Crist. I have some questions . Is Ne’cessarie shampoo and conditioner ok to use? If I have wavy hair 2A type so I have to dry my hair by defusing a little bit before let air dry , I want to know I need heat protection or not? The last question I use curl defining, so I still need blow dry cream or any styling cream or not? Moreover, could you recommend a good curl enhancing that good for thick and a little bit wave for me. I don’t know how to choose because they have cream, gel, moose. I like touchable but keep my wave nicer. I will waiting for your recommendation.

Cheyhorse 03: How do you feel about thicker, creamy leave-in conditioners applied in the shower just before getting out?

Don't Starve Alone: Would you advise Olaplex 0 instead of 3 for fine hair?

AC: Hi Chris : thank you so much for all your advices, they help me a lot! Would like to get your recommendation on leave in conditioner for my frizzy and coarse hair, thanks again !

Leona Ball: Can you tell everyone if the mark hill hair lab bond repair range is good. It’s half the price as olaplex but it’s apparently the same I would like to see you do a review on it. As I’ve bought a few of the olaplex products but hate the price range but obviously it’s worth your money for the results. But if mark hill is a cheaper alternative I’m down for using that instead. Thanks

supriet kaur: Hi Chris, I have oily scalp and dry ends. My hair is fine and thinning and my hair gets oily with 7-8 hours of shampooing. Also I sweat a lot in top part of my scalp, so if I style my hair with too much heat or I am outside, my hair gets oily within 1-2 hours of styling/shampooing. Can you suggest me something?

Caroline Whitelaw: I purchased blow dry cream (Big Blowout) and proper heat protectant, and the right shampoo for my fine hair after watching your videos. Life changing!

j: hey Chris.. are keratin treatments good for dry damaged frizzy hai? what are your thoughts and reviews about the Brazilian Cacau keratin treatment? pls advice.

Joblyn: Hi love the video. Is it possible for you to record a video on African Afro hair? It seems to me like Afro hair has a few exceptions to the rules. Like my hair is fine and coarse so when I watched your video on hair type and products I was left still a little lost. Then there are certain products in the Afro community that are considered professional but do not know if they are like Kera Care and Design Essentials

Lisa Llewellyn: Hi..I have let all my natural grey grow in ..its in pretty good condition now I've stopped using hair dye ..should I be using a certain shampoo, conditioner or any other products specifically for grey hair ?? TIA Lisa x

Veronika Be: I bought all products you recommend for fine hair that I can get my hands on here in Germany. I have wavy - curly hair and wonder if you have any product recommendations for a curl cream and a gel. In this video you show some Curlsmith products at Ulta. I know that nearly every curly YouTube I know loves this brand. What are your thoughts? Can I use it additional to the salon quality products I already use or is there a salon line you love for natural curly or wavy hair? Thank you!

GinaDims: Should you use a heat protectant and a blow dry cream or does the blow dry cream have heat protection? I use Olaplex 6 and 7 and ghd body guard

Kayshi: Video is really helpful. I've really dry, highlighted hair that's thin and damaged with highlights. I've tried Redken shampoo and conditioner for volume but shampoo is making my scalp dry and itchy... any advice. Thank you, im following your routine and can see a real difference with, masks, leave in conditioner and oil. x

Gym Junkie: I am new to your channel, I am so glad that I stumbled onto your channel, my hair type is fine and for the last 4 years I have been loosing a lot of hair every day I could not understand why I am loosing so much hair, I have seen my doctor for blood test all was fine, I thought going through menopause was causing my hair loss, which was not menopause, I have tried supplements which also was not working. I saw your video in regards to shampoo and conditioner and leave in conditioner as well as the oil, and also how to correctly shampoo my hair. To my amazement my hair is so healthy and no more hair loss. Thank you so much for your videos, you are an amazing hairdresser with so much knowledge. I wish I knew this 4 years ago. All the hair loss I experienced caused me to feel depressed and it was frustrating because I didn’t know what the cause of my hair loss was. I have always had fine hair but I had a lot of fine hair. My hair was so fine and very thin, I even saw a hairdresser who specialises in making human hair topper I spent over $1000 in purchasing a hair topper. I honestly feel like my hair is on the road to full recovery. Once again thank you so much all the way from Australia

Sheila Lois: What do you recommend for a beach vacation? I feel the need to wash everyday because of the salt water and sand.

Eileen Gonzalez: Hi Chris. I love all your videos. But I submitt a request about the products and never get them. I am very interesting in the heat protectors that you recommend and the leave in conditioner for very thin hair. Thanks

Teresa Estes: Love your tips! Can you give your blow-dry cream recommend please? I didn't catch it. My hair is super picky w/ the heat protectant products. Generally they make it fluffy or you struggle blow drying because it makes the wet hair stiff. Thx!

Lanie Slyter: Hi! Love your channel! Can you do a product review on it’s a 10 miracle spray leave in conditioner?

ISABELLA MARTINEZ MORELLO: Thank you Chris!! what scalp treatment you recommend? :)

Kitty Marie: Hi Chris, please can you make a Video with tips and products for people who has extremely proteine sensitive hair? My hair is very thin, damaged bleached, try, frizzy, normaly exactly the perfect hair type for proteine repair products but my hair hates all kinds of products which are based on proteines. No mather what brand, Olaplex, K18, Redken extreme... everytime I used products with only a little part of proteins, the result is a desaster!

Lisa Holten: Hello, I am a Martial Artist and my hair is 90 cm long from root to end. After Clinching my hair looks like an exploded pillow and it tends to fall out due to Clinching and other stuff in Muay Thai Training. My hair is very thin and braids do not last long - they get lose, even whilst braiding. When I wear a regulare ponytale or braid, my hair gets on my nervs and punches in my face during jumping, rope skipping or it sticks to my arms and face cause of sweating. I would be very greatful, if you could make a reel or video for Martial Artist's hair (especially very long hair) to prefend damage, falling out or getting in the way, cause the braids don't last. Greetings and huggies from Germany ♥

Momma E: What hairsprays you recommend? I noticed they damage my ends bad .

Marlee💚💙: What do you think about the “ it’s a 10 “ blow dry spray? And what about the KENRA shampoo and conditioner?

jennifer green: Hi, i was wondering whether or not you recommend adding oil to your shampoo. Ive read a lot of health benefits of doing this and even purchased a glass vial of vitamin E oil thats meant to go into your shampoo but i recently bought the redken volume injection shampoo and was wondering if the oil would cause the shampoo to be ineffective

Lauren Moore: I have this problem I have to wash my hair at least once a day. I have an oily scalp and the neck down is just like I washed it and healthy. I don't know what I should do about this and what products to use. I did not have this problem until I got older. What do you think I should do? Thanks again.

Gerri Carney: Do these products also work the same way for over 50 hair?

Agneš Pap: Can you recommend me a good leave in conditioner (olaplex/redken/kerastase...) ? I can't find pureology in our country

Kateřina Hlavičková: Hello ! I would be interested in your opinion on universal sprays like L'Oréal Serie Expert Vitamino Color or Matrix wonder creator. When it would be enough for hair. Thank you

Șușu: Can you make more hairstyle tutorials? Doesn't really matter what it is I just enjoy watching them

Tasia: I love your videos!! Would you consider BioSilk a leave in conditioner, a hair oil, or both?

Pepsimania: Hi, what about hot oil treatments? I have only started watching your videos recently and I don't this I have seen anything about those.

Christina Ordway: I swam everyday in the ocean for about 35 minutes. What should I do to take care of my hair?

KGB: What do I put on my thick hair? It stands up and is quite rebellious. My face is round too so wich harcut do I get?

Saba Firdous: I don't colour my hair Will the leave in conditioner still work for me? Because it seems the one yoh recommended is for people with coloured hair
