Every one I'm kind of excited for this one, because I finally get to talk about my favorite shampoo, which I have described so many times on this channel finally decided to make a dedicated video to it, because I'm starting to make shampoo reviews made one about mane And tail shampoo and hoof that did not not work for me, so you can go ahead and check that video and I'll be sure to link it. But, oh, my goodness after I made that video I suffered from like a dry scalp, for I don't know like three four days after and finally, when I switch back to this, it resolved it. So I love I love this product. This is Kerastase nutritive line, so it is the sort of light, orange and darker orange line, bad satin, one cuz. They make a one and A two I like the one and lady tile, which is the conditioner. So this is the shampoo conditioner super pricey stuff, but in my opinion, totally totally worth it. I'M gon na sit down and go through all the different reasons and all the different like a grading rubric that I've created for shampoo, so we're gon na go through that. In a second, but first of all, I just wanted to say hello. Welcome to my channel. My name is Helen. This is distribu mcgee channel. We talk about hair loss. We talk about shampoo reviews. We talk about foods that are good for hair. All the kind of stuff is what you'll find here. I'M not gon na ask you to like and subscribe right now. Actually, I just did didn't I, but anyhow, let's go with it down and talk about this wonderful shampoo that I love the shampoo now first off a quick short story, time about how I even got introduced to Kerastase shampoo, because in no world would I be spending What approximately forty dollars, thirty five dollars and up for just the shampoo and that's not even talking about the conditioner, which is about the same price in no world, is that gon na happen in my natural, normal day sort of ongoing stuff. I strongly believe for things that you wash how quickly they're not worth spending a lot of money for, and that also includes sort of like cleansers and stuff, like that. You see people splurging on like super expensive facial cleansers and i feel like they're here today and gone tomorrow, like you put them on and ten seconds later, they're gone, but I've never found something to match the shampoos. So my quick story, time about this is, as some of you may know or may not know, I am a longtime lifestyle journalist I came of age in the in the magazine world. I was a lifestyle, editor and writer, and I still AM, I have a completely retired, drew that from that beat. Yet when you worked in magazines back in the day, I still do you get sent tons of free punch. I mean tons every single day. Their shipments of new shampoos to come in new eyeliners new makeup, just whatever you can dream of it, comes to you for free. When you work in the beauty department, you get so much of it that you could try what you like, if you were thinking about using it or reporting on it, but generally you just accumulate so much you'll never get to all of it. So then, what we used to do back in the day and I'm sure this is still the case at you - know the Vosges of the world and stuff like that and and other magazines that are relatively healthy compared to the so many that have shuttered. But back then is you would accumulate all this stuff in there usually with a beauty closet, and I know that if you watch Devil Wears Prada you've seen like the beauty closet, and that was like about fashion and stuff like that. But there is one for like supplies like this, like shampoos and stuff like that and you're just you have so many of them you'll never use them all they get put in there and then a couple times a year. The beauty department usually will hold a sale for the staffers. They sell off all these products for like a really cheap price like a few dollars back then each to be somewhere between it's a three and maybe eight dollars like super affordable, sometimes you'd even buy pre tickets, which is like you could buy like a $ 10 Ticket and you'd get you'd be one of the first ten to be able to go in. I know things so and the reason and not and we didn't filter those profits back into our magazines, although maybe looking back, we should have generally that money would be accumulated and given away to a really worthy charity, often a woman's shelter. So you could do it and you can also feel good about doing it as well and buying all kinds of stuff and just trying stuff you would never normally spend money on. So that is how I came to know and love Kerastase products I had bought one. It was the or it was not. The shampoo, I think. Actually the conditioner at first is the first thing that had name was at super price, but I spent like four dollars on it. So who cares? I was, and I still have not asked impressed with the conditioner - it's okay, the shampoo blows me away. I love the ship whoo so much and we'll talk about the graving of it in a second. So that's why I got introduced to Kerastase products and then, when I actually looked up the retail price I was shocked. I was shook. It was crazy, like you can get shampoo for what four dollars and this stuff was just so many Mallick ten times that amount. But let me flash for it a little bit in this whole story. I'M and I will try to keep this to a minimum, but I'm kind of having fun describing it. So I hope you bear with me. I was at a sort of event where a hair stylist was, I can't even remember the whole gist of it, but basically we're talking about hair stylist and it's part of a like a little giveaway like gift bag kind of thing. There'S a teeny tiny version of this, which you can still buy and still buy a little sample size of this, give it away also with the conditioner. So I had tried the condition. Why had never tried the chef who, in this teeny tiny format? This is so long ago now I want to say this was 2006, I'm gon na say it's like well well, over 10 years, like so so many years, I've been using the shampoo and have never found one two matches. I tried it and I fell in love. I don't know what magic it did. You might had much more hair then, and it was just so nice. I don't know it's like hydrating, but it didn't do a nice deep, clean, really left my hair, soft and manageable loves it and kept purchasing it, and there have been times when I just haven't had this sort of desire to purchase it because it's so expensive. Sometimes I just like I'm gon na give it a rest, then I always but my mind always comes back to it and I always repurchase it, especially if I think there's some sort of sale. I check Harris Tazz's website for sales. I'M gon na put a link down below for you guys to if you want to check it out, Kerastase usually gives really nice samples. So that's something to know, because I know a lot of people like to buy from Amazon and I have a whole. I have some issues with them. Is I'm not gon na go to that right now, but you don't get any samples. If you go to care sighs you get samples. Sometimes that leads you to other amazing products that you you might like and then sometimes there's like gift sets, and that makes it all makes each per product per product much more affordable bottom. I love this shampoo. I would suggest, though, if you're very, if you know you just don't, have the money just maybe buy it from somewhere, you can return it easily. You know I I've seen it carried at Target. I'Ve seen it at CVS. So that would just be my advice. If you, if you want to kind of treat yourself but you're, not sure if you're gon na like it, what do you hate it? I don't want to be the person you blame for buying a super expensive shampoo that you don't end up liking. Let'S get onto the grading rubric, I've created this list of different criteria that I hope will help you maybe make a buying decision or not on this, but just from my experience, this is what I have to say about it, thickening and volumizing. This is not a thickening or volumizing shampoo. This is a very hydrating shampoo. That'S why I love it and when I lost so much my hair and I didn't have much hair even less than I have right now, so my hair regrowth was pretty good. It didn't weigh down my hair, and I was so surprised because a lot hydrating moisturizing shampoos that have that on the label are kind of they don't cleanse that. Well, I did not find that to be the case with this. I found it to be wonderfully moisturizing and hydrating, not thickening, and not really volumizing, but does leave you with volume. It doesn't take away your volume, it just doesn't add a whole bunch of it that you don't already have, if that makes sense shine. For me, a plus on this product, it makes my hair shiny, soft, manageable, just prettier, always prettier than when I started out and whenever I come back to it, I'm like oh yeah. I needed that so for me just top marks in terms of shine for this product. Okay, Moisture just talked about that this is one of the most the best and most effective moisturizing shampoos. I'Ve used ever and I've used a lot of them. One thing to note about Karis does is they're owned by company L'Oreal, so I have found some success with other or less expensive L'Oreal products. There is an ever pure Lotus, shampoo, that's in a purple bottle and that works really nicely too smells beautiful, also sulfate and paraben free. I believe so, and this is not. This is got sulfates and I believe parabens in it. So if you are looking for something that's free of those things, L'Oreal makes that I was a kind of comperable. They Lori also makes one that's called um. I can't remember the name of it. It'S in a yellow bottle think it's something called like extraordinary oil that could be just the Canadian name for it, but it's got the word oil I think usually on it, and it is kind of a clear shampoo as I recall, and it's in a sort of Dark yellow bottle so that one is pretty good as well. I'M kind of a dupe for that for this, but not as good fragrance. I love a nice smelling shampoo. This smells really nice, maybe not to everybody's taste. It'S not super floral, but it does smell. Like a really high-end shampoo, the conditioner we'll talk about that in a minute sort of layers on the same fragrance family, you know care size makes other shampoos that smell even better, like the chronologies, which is in a dark black bottle. It'S crazy. I know what these bottles look like, even though I'm not looking at them right now, but I know their product line pretty well, chronologic, isn't a black or very dark brown, not smell heavenly. If you wear that that is like hair perfume, this one is smells nice and lovely. I like it, but it's not as nice as the kernel is used. If that makes sense, softness a plus for softness for the shampoo leaves my hair, so soft, so nice compared it to mean it's Hale main inhale left my hair feeling like straw. This one feels conditioned soft and supple and it's just easy to style. It'S easier. For me to even those moisturizing, it's still easy for me to put a curling iron in after, if you know what I'm saying or to Flatiron it. If that's what I want to do, look if I wanted you heat styling, it works super. Well, so, there's that cleansing power - surprisingly, this is a cleansing shampoo. I you know, you might think not think it would be because it's supposed to be a very nutritious. I guess shampoos, that's the name nutritive, but it does a really good job cleaning. Here'S a word to the wise that, when you're washing, if you're getting a big lather, the first time, you're washing here for sure using too much shampoo, so I would say really dial back down the amount of shampoo you're using even with one like this. I'Ve had this now for about it at the beginning of quarantine, because I was like, if cope it takes me out, I ain't going out with bad hair, so I stopped up. That'S where my mind went. I was afraid of a shortage of my favorite shampoo, and it's not that much has gone from it, so you should really just be using a tiny amount. Try two dimes in your hand, do a first wash try two times the second time, and that should be the time that it lathers if you're getting a lot of lather in the first wash you're, probably using too much shampoo or you're, maybe also shampooing. More than once a day that might be too frequent but try cutting down on the amount of shampoo, which is good because expensive right, so if you use less it will last a lot longer. These locks may be these bottles last me half a year, so I'm only purchasing and I just swap in with some other shrimp - it's been really purchasing two times a year, so it's expensive, but I know what else am i spending my money on right now? I'M trapped inside who's it best for I can't really recommend this shampoo for everybody. I'Ve had a lot of hair. I'Ve had wavy hair I've had in here. I'Ve had dry hair, I've had normal hair and it's worked well in all conditions. I'M not the only one saying this really famous youtuber Lisa Eldridge has talked about her favorite shampoo, which is not, I think this particular Kerastase, but she loves Kerastase as well. I don't know what the magic is in this product. Are we just fooling ourselves? I sometimes think am I just bullied. Why don't believe is because it's expensive, but I have tried so many other things. I'Ve tried other expensive shampoos. I don't want to slam Bumble and Bumble, but I have tried that brand and it it's expensive as well. I'Ve tried living proof and that's expensive as well. I have not liked them as much for me, this is the only one that performs better than a drugstore shampoo, but before you come after me, please remember that everybody's hair chemistry, scalp chemistry levels, are different. So what works for me might not work for me for you. This is just my experience of this product. So now, let's move on to the conditioner, so the conditioner and made you know other videos where I've mentioned it. It'S really not my favorite. I don't. I don't think it's worth spending a fortune on this. I just happen to buy a because I've bought a set, and I got this and I got this sort of matching product for putting in your hair before you heat stylet, which I love, that's a really good product, the conditioners. Just it's okay. I think that, honestly, you could buy any other conditioner, you probably be just as happy with it a much less expensive conditioner that I love is a vivid scalp conditioner, which I have mentioned. I have a video here about a drugstore haul that I did so. I will link that up and you can see my thoughts on the Divis cal conditioner, not the shampoo, just the conditioner in the viv ask a line. I find really nice for people with hair loss and it smells delightful. This one smells good. It just sort of smells like the other one, but let's go through my actual criteria here same criteria I used on the mane and tail and seeing criteria I will be using going forward on other shampoo reviews. One of the criteria I have here is weight. This is a lightweight conditioner, use it and scrunch it through your hair. This is a tip that I give don't rake. If you're dealing with hair loss cuz, you will rake out a lot of hair. You'Ll have a ton of hair on your fingers and you will be hurry. You know, so don't do that to yourself just scrunch it in that way and just go for the myth. Mins, obviously don't put it on the scalp. You knew that already right, texture on dry, hair, soft, manageable, but very, very light. That'S why I'm not the biggest lover River, this conditioner, you don't feel like it's made as much difference. Definitely, when I run out, I don't tend to repurchase this. It'S the chef who that I'm in love with how much do you need? You probably need about an equal amount to the shampoo. So if you're using two dimes and then two dimes, when you're washing to die size amounts, you probably need four dime size for my hair anyway. What you see here about that is how much I need for the conditioner. It doesn't add a quick job, oh yeah, so you don't need a tie, that it is pretty effective and concentrated and it it is nice, it's a nice conditioner, but I can't give it a really super high rating best for the conditioners best for anybody. If your hair is very very dry, it's a maybe it's actually not quite heavy enough. You might need to level up or use a leave-in conditioner if you have like a super dry hair, and you have a lot of it, a plus honeys for this one, because nothing's beat this one, and I would like to find one that does so. If you have a chef who you love, drop it down below, because I've tried everything, I've not been so and more than a decade that I want to beat this one. So a plus for this one for the shampoo for the conditioner. I'M gon na give her because it's so expensive, I'm only gon na give a receipt plus, because I feel like it's. A lot of money to spend on a conditioner is not really performing better than a lot of other ones. That cost a fraction of the price smell the fragrance doesn't blow me away. The performance doesn't blow me away, so you know I cannot give this one a super high marks, so so yeah. Those are my marks for these two gosh. I hope that was helpful. Please do you know remember to like remember to subscribe. Let me know what shampoo is your loving and hating, or whether you want to try this one you're curious. What you want me to review it love to hear that from you too, and thanks for spending your time here with me, take care and we'll see you soon.

BHarden: Thank you! Your post is timely as it confirms my experience with Kerastase and most recent repurchase! Kerastase was recommended by hair stylist a few years ago when I was trying to achieve better hair health. It was a game changer for me - I used Resistance Conditioner for Damaged Hair and Bain Densite'. They truly made a difference and brought my hair back to a healthy state. After my hair got back in shape, I resorted back to cheaper products. My hair recently took another unhealthy turn and, after researching, I went back to Kerastase. Immediate improvement!!! My hair instantly felt better - texture improved. I agree 100% with you about this brand. I have thin fine stick straight hair and I'm dealing with gradual thinning on the top. Your posts have been very helpful as I explore my options.

Karen Renshaw: Hi Helen I’m a fine haired gal and usually always opted for a volume shampoo but I’ve decided to treat myself and have some Bain satin 1 & lait vital on the way (a discount bundle) and can’t wait to see how I get on with it. The volumeifuque wasn’t on offer and it might have been a little bit drying so I hope I’m going to like a bit of moisture. Have you heard of Nexxus?? I’ve used that in past and liked it. Keep up the good work

Cindy C: Thanks for the review I've always thought about trying Kerastase stuff but i havent yet, i've heard good things about the Ultime oil. Right now i'm using the Joico Moisture Recovery, it's nice but not great. I should try this!

Tonya Hill: I use to love this line from Kerastase and it was my Holy Grail. It made my hair look gorgeous. Fast forward 12 years later and I don’t like it now. I don’t know if they changed the product or what but I decided to give it a go and bought the shampoo, conditioner, mask and leave in for fine hair and man did it dry my hair out. It also causes a lot of static in my hair as well as dried my hair out severely. I have thin fine highlighted hair. I would wash my hair and put conditioner in it and when I would get out of the shower I would have a million knots. My hair looked like it had dreads in it lol . I love Kerastase but unfortunately not this line from them anymore but glad it works well for you .

Bhavana Behl: Some great work and great reviews ! Kudos to you for all the efforts . A question - which hair masks would you suggest for thinning fine hair ? Saw ur vids n got the olaplex but as my hair is dry n damaged too othrr that being thin , I feel I need more hydration but not at the cost of hair loss. However don't want to weigh my hair down with a mask too heavy for my thin n fine hair . Pls suggest

Barbara Adame: I’ve used Kérastase Bain Satin and the conditioner in the past but my hair started thinning I am now using Kérastase Densifique shampoo and conditioner it’s the best!! The way you love Bain is the way I feel about Densifique!!

Vilma Martins: im a curly girl and I find that Kerastase works wonders for my hair. The shampoo is amazing. I skip the conditioner as its not for my hair type although its for dry hair. Masque intense is amazing!! Im using the Kerastase Genisis at the moment and I love it!! great review.

Nancy Davis: Do these have sulfates silicones and paraben? I’m a curly girl so I stay away from those! But I also suffered from TE months back and am finally seeing new growth flourish so this has me intrigued!

Samanta Rizzi: I just purchased Kerastase Densifique shampoo and conditioner and I can’t wait to try them out! I’m waiting on the delivery ... but my hairdresser actually recommended me more natural type of shampoo and conditioner and said that Kerastase is over rated. But the problem is that I have bad experiences with natural shampoos and conditioners, so I didn’t listen to her and instead I ordered these Kerastase products from an online shop and the shampoo was actually discounted. :) I also bought the Densifique mousse. My hair is fine and straight. I need some density! :D

Melissa O'Shea: Hi there. I have watch a few of your videos because I have had hair loss for yearrrssss. Did your hair loss start before or after you started this product ? I really want to try it but I’m afraid of more hair loss

C W: Perhaps the conditioner isn't quite right for your hair. Sounds like you need something a bit richer? I absolutely love this shampoo conditioner and heat protectant it just couldn't be better. My hair type is fine but I have a lot of it and its straight. My hair is normal to slightly dry.

Israr Hussain: Hi, I am using kerastase antidandruff shampoo for my dandruff scalp, and I want a hair conditioner and hair serum as well, so can you please recommend for me. Thanks alot.

Landon L.: Would you recommend this for guy's hair?

Ol Faithful: What is your holy grail conditioner right now?

Flauntit Natural: Awesome content! Keep up the great work. If you have a second you could go visit my account and follow if you like my content ❤️

Shelley G.: Is the satin 2 for hair that is extra dry?

Mel C: I must have missed your post on foods that help with hair growth....please repost or let me know how to get it. So new to making comments....sorry.

Lianne Bennici: I like sulphate in my shampoo

sarah Baird: Exquisite oil

Pharvinder Bhumber: You go on and on you need to talk about that shamohoo

pipnsunski: Necklace beautiful

no288: wow you are talking really fast, got a train to catch? ; )

Charlotte A: Oh for goodness sake please take a breathe.

Vincent Grande: to hyper

Tülay Erdem: Waaaaaay too much talking before coming to the point. Boring to watch
