Well, hey guys in today's video i'm going to be sharing with you, my current hair care, favorites, all the hair care products that i use and love. These are shampoos conditioners and deep conditioning treatments. Now that's a bit of background. I have long hair down to my lower back and it's wavy in texture. I don't do any chemical processing treatments to my hair. I don't color treat my hair and i don't heat style, my hair or use any heat tools on my hair and my scalp produces a moderate amount of sebum aka oil. Why am i telling you these things well, they're very important because they dictate the frequency with which i need to and tolerate shampooing my hair, which for me, is every day? If i don't shampoo my hair every day, it starts to look greasy all right. The first product - i actually love everything from this brand. It'S the know, nothing brand. You can buy this on amazon or you can buy it directly from their site. This is a brand, that's vegan and cruelty free and one of the main reasons. I love it and frequently recommend it is that it's free of common allergens that are present in hair care products, so for people who have fragrance allergy or allergies to common preservatives like methyl isothiazolenol. This is a great go-to, unlike other you know, sensitive skin friendly hair care. This brand has a plethora of hair care products to choose from it's, not just like one shampoo and one conditioner. They have hair spray, they have um gel mousse. I don't use those types of styling products, but i definitely recommend this brand if you are in the market for for those anyways, i use the moisture line. The moisture line has sodium laureth sulfate as the surfactant in the shampoo. So that's what's going to help degrease my scalp and it also has glycerin, which is going to help add hydration to my hair. In addition to the sodium laureth sulfate for cleansing, it has a secondary detergent that is really more for conditioning actually sodium laurylyl sarcocenate, and then it has some amphoteric surfactants that really just help with moisturizing. It has coco metal, propyl betaine in it, and it's got avocado oil, which is a wonderful emollient for imparting shine, very minimal ingredient list and then the corresponding conditioner has some wonderful conditioning agents to help neutralize that negative charge on the hair. Shaft leaves the hair clean manageable, so i love the moisture line, but from time to time i also like to use a volumizing shampoo depending on the weather. My hair can look a little flat, sometimes volumizing shampoos, they'll often have hydrolyzed vegetable protein or hydrolyzed, silk, which deposits on the hair and kind of it temporarily increases hair diameter and adds a little bit of volume. Now, if you use volumizing shampoo every day that can actually lead to a buildup on the hair over time, and if you have coiled hair curly hair, you may find that that ends up affecting your curl pattern. And so you might want to avoid some of these volumizing products, but the no nothing line has hydro the no nothing line their volume. Shampoo has hydrolyzed vegetable protein in it, which you know is gon na, be what helps add a little bit of extra volume. So i don't use it that often, but i love it. It'S actually very similar to the hydration one, with the exception that it's got the vegetable protein in there for for volume. So that's the volume, shampoo and conditioner, and then i also use um a fair amount. The repair, shampoo and conditioner i have long hair, so it's inevitable that i have split ends uh and i try and keep on top of that i have long hair. So it's inevitable that i get split ends uh, but i try and keep on top of that by you know not heat styling, my hair, being very gentle with my hair care, and then i will gravitate towards a repairing shampoo and the repair shampoo, like the volume Shampoo also has hydrolyzed uh vegetable protein in it, which will deposit and kind of fill in some of those holes in the hair and kind of help smooth things out, unlike the volume shampoo um, the repair shampoo also has a sarcosinate in it. Now, sarcosanates or sarcosines are secondary detergents that don't cleanse they're, not you know like a sulfate or anything. They don't do any cleansing, they're more conditioning so um, whereas the volume shampoo didn't have the sarcosine. This one does so you get a little bit more conditioning. So it's really good. If you have brittle hair damaged hair, if you use a blow dryer a lot, the repair shampoo would be good for you. They also have a shampoo and conditioner for color treated hair that, like the repair shampoo, has the sarcosinate secondary detergent in it for conditioning, but in contrast to the others, it has a little bit more of an ingredient called polysilicone 15, which is actually a sunscreen. It is a parcel excel slx parcel slx. I think i'm saying that right is a uvb filter, but it helps with retaining the hair color. So that's probably you know, obviously why it is higher up on the ingredient list in this product. It also can kind of help stabilize the ingredients in the shampoo that might otherwise be degraded by uv exposure. So that's the no-nothing line and then another shampoo that i really love now. This is actually a great one if you have dry, hair, coily, hair, curly, hair and you're, looking for good, something that will cleanse the scalp without stripping away at your hair, hair, shafts and leaving them frizzy and unmanageable. It'S this carol's daughter wash day delight. I use this probably once a week, and i love it because it really just cleanses the scalp very nicely. It has salicylic acid in it which helps kind of remove oily buildup from the scalp. If you have dandruff, it helps that as well, and what i love about this product is. This pointed tip. Applicator really allows you to precisely direct it just to the scalp, and then it works into a nice like sort of lather um. It'S part of this water to foam water, to foam formulation. I mean it feels like water going over your scalp. It has a nice cooling sensation to it and then, as you massage it in it works up into a lather. That'S you can then rinse off. I really love this. It doesn't have any sulfates that are going to be harsh on people's hair types that are more curly or coiled, so you don't have to worry about that. But for me personally, i just really love using this. Basically for cleansing the scalp. I also really like the shea moisture i've talked about this before oat milk and rice, water, baby, wash and shampoo. This is perfect, there's actually no anionic surfactant in this ak, there's no sodium lauryl, sulfate or laureth sulfate. This instead relies on the natural detergent action of oats, and it also has rice water in it, which can really help with adding shine and hydration. This product is really great for dry, dull, brittle hair strands. It'S not the best at scalp. Babies don't make. They don't have an oily scalp, there's, not really a need to degrease a baby's scalp. They don't have that level of sebum production at all um but anyways for me personally. I love using this more so when i'm feeling, like my scalp, isn't too greasy, but i just want something to kind of cleanse to stay on top of the oil production but also add shine. It really does a good job with shine to the hair. That'S one of my main hair goals is shininess and anti in reducing split ends, so this is wonderful. I have a video explaining the benefits of rice, water for your hair and i don't really have the time to be doing the rice, water thing myself. So i like using this product as well. If you have textured hair curly hair, definitely try this now, it's labeled as fragrance free. However, it does have lavender oil in it, which you can definitely smell when you use this, so i shoot it up my nose um. So if you have true fragrance allergy, this is not going to be something that you can use, but uh. You know, as i've always said fragrance in shampoos and conditioners, is less of an issue because you're rinsing it off than if it's in a product that you leave on your skin. So it's unlikely that the lavender oil on this is something that you have to worry about becoming sensitive to. But if you already have a fragrance allergy, then you would want to avoid this, but the no nothing line would you'd be good to go there. All right and then last but not least, i've been using these for a long time now and they are our favorite. This is a function of beauty and function of beauty if you're not familiar. This is not sponsored, although i have partnered with them in the past. Function of beauty is a customizable hair care line. Basically, you can go in and put in your hair type, hair texture and you can select up to five hair goals. I find personally the key to getting a good formula is to keep the hair goals to just like two. I think, if people get too excited with the hair goals, they end up getting a formula that isn't quite what they want. I get fixed split ends and shine in my tearing and then what i love about function of beauty is that you can choose fragrance free, and so it's nice. You know you can get a shampoo and conditioner that's customizable to your hair care needs and that does not have fragrance. So i love these and i've been using these for well over a year now. I know a lot of people uh. You know their mixed opinions online about these products, but i i was a customer of function of beauty long before i was sponsored by them and i you know i wouldn't be recommending them if i didn't think they were good, it worked very well for me. You know that doesn't mean they're going to work well for everybody, but they're, not bad products. The shampoo and conditioner really leave my hair shiny, manageable and you know, do a good job with scalp cleansing so that my hair is not greasy the following day. All right also from function beauty. Actually, if i could recommend one thing from function: beauty, if you're not interested in the shampoo and conditioner, is the mask, at least for me, this is probably the best hair mask i've ever used, and i really love it. I do it the days that i use the carol's daughter for my scalp i'll use this for my ends and my hair is just a dream that that, following day, very manageable, very shiny, very bouncy love it. So this is definitely a favorite and i've been using. It for a while another um conditioning type product that i really like is again from know nothing, it's their very sensitive, moisture mist. I like spraying this on my hair after i get out of the shower. I find it also helps reduce frizz. It has propylene glycol, which is a really good, moisturizing ingredient for the hair shaft. Yes, it can be irritating on the skin. For some people, it's also got dimethicone in it, a silicone which is not water, soluble so i'll point that out, because for people with coily hair, textured, hair, curl, curly, hair silicones that are not water. Soluble like dimethicone can affect your curl pattern and lead to a buildup doesn't cause an issue for me. You know so um and it helps a lot with imparting shine. So i use this maybe once a week for shine for added shine to my hair. Basically, speaking of curly hair, i have really been loving the inky list, chia seed, curl, defining hair treatment. I reviewed all of the inky list, hair care products and if you watch that video you'll remember how much i like this and i find for me, while i don't have curly hair, i do have wavy hair and my wavy hair can start to look like an Octopuses garden or some sort of sea anemone, and when i use this, it just whips it into shape and it behaves you know it just goes to a pattern of consistent. You know consistent wave pattern that all stays together and is all in the same phase, and by that i mean, like all of the hairs, seem to be going. You know parallel to one another. Does that make sense in the same phase like a wave form yeah? It really helps especially like i look in the mirror and my hair will be doing the octopuses garden thing and then i whip this out and just put a little bit on the ends. I mean you don't need very much and then it's like boom. All of a sudden, it's behaving, so i really like this uh rinses out easily and doesn't leave a build up on my hair, which is really important to me and then the last product that is also from the inky list that i adore is their hyaluronic acid Hair treatment now this i put to the ends of my hair after shampooing, and it really helps with reducing split ends and adds a lot of shine and hydration to my hair. It helps with keeping the hair moisturized and you know, hyaluronic acid is a humectant holds onto water. It'S definitely helped with improving shine and hydration. So that's kind of my hair care collection. Last thing i want to share with you guys speaking of collection, i store all of these in my linen closet. That'S in my bathroom in this lazy susan. I got this at bloodbath and beyond highly recommend it. It has a center console yeah. I highly recommend that if you guys are looking for something to organize your shampoo and conditioner, but no you don't necessarily need to be changing up. Your shampoo and conditioner like on a daily basis or whatever bear in mind. I like to try out a lot of things so that i have you know stuff to review for you guys. So you know what's good and what's you know what to skip um, and this is just what i have really been loving over the past year throughout 2020. As i said, these hair care products they're not going to be right for every hair type. If you have color treated hair, though i would definitely recommend the no nothing color treatment, shampoo and conditioner. I think that that would be a good one and if you have more textured or coily hair, you know the shea moisture and the carol's daughter, i think, are products that would still work well for you, the chia seed curl, defining cream, i think, would be helpful Too, for defining curls, but i would avoid the hydration mist if you have textured hair curly hair because of the dimethicone can build up on the hair. This. I think you would also like, if you have an oily scalp but dry hair, because it's got salicylic acid. That'S everything that i've been using over the past year and will continue to use into 2021 so i'll list all of these down below in the description box. And if you like, this video, give it a thumbs up, share it with your friends and as always, don't forget, sunscreen and subscribe i'll talk to you guys tomorrow, bye, you

greenknitter: Thank you Dr. for validating daily hair washing. Any time I mention I do so I get people telling me how bad it is for my hair as if clogging up my pores with oil is good for my scalp, not to mention how bad it looks walking around with oily hair.

Linda: I absolutely love the Carol's Daughter wash, thank you for recommending it. I have moderately oily hair as well and after working out if I do not use shampoo it looks slick and matted. The Carol's shampoo is mild enough to use in between washes with my normal shampoo :) And it smells great.

Crystal H: Finally someone who washes their hair every day! Thank you for the reviews

I.M. Hidden: I'm almost done with my Carol's Daughter shampoo and am going to keep the bottle to refill with other shampoos since the dispensing method is so great. Thank you Dr. Dray!

Caitlin Sawicki: Working on growing my hair out and getting it healthy again after bleaching it. LOVE the SheaMoisture baby shampoo! Makes my hair so soft and I feel like it cured my oiliness! I switch it up between that and the Neutrogena anti-residue shampoo now and again. I condition. Then I scrunch a hyaluronic acid concentrate and some Cerave cream into my hair. Air dry/use a microfiber towel. Hair is soooo soft! Can’t wait to have it to your length lol

tasnim 🐱: Needed conditioner so bad, thank you Dr. Dray for the suggestions! Happy Holidays ☺️

Kelsea Nova: I am always looking for fragrance free products. Thank you Dr dray.

Joshua Alvarado: I got the Carol's Daughter Shampoo per as your recommendation. it seems to be helpful with the dandruff, but the only inconvenience I find is that with the applicator i don't get to feel how much of it I'm actually using, so i end up using less or more than I need, it's too liquidy for me to determine, since, like you said, feels like water. So I put in my hands and rub it in, but i end up using more than l should this way.

Melot Skee: You look lovelier each day Doc Dray❤ Merry Christmas, hoping to hear & learn more from you. Take care

Reed Berger-Fleishman: Of course we are all waiting for this video because your hair is so beautiful! Happy Christmas Eve dr. Dray and peeps! Hi to Mom and Tybee

Dunn Diddeli: Merry Christmas Andrea! Just want to thank you for the tip about Vaseline Intensive Care Advanced Repair. I’ve been using it for three months and, no more dryness. :)

Wholesome ASMR: Happy holidays Dr Dray! I know you have done videos already on hair loss, minoxidil and finasteride etc., but I am wondering if you have talked about the potential side effects of finasteride? I am a young man looking into finasteride to treat a receding hairline but have recently been put off by the potential side effects (potential impotence, increased speed of prostate cancer development). I would love to hear your thoughts on the risks and health considerations of these hair loss treatments. Your videos have been a blessing so far - thank you for your work!

Rachel Dee: Bought the No Nothing Very Sensitive Hair Mist. I tried the Pureology and green Aveda ones and I like this better. Great mister and awesome as a multipurpose leave in/heat protectant.

Theresa Greene: LOVE No Nothing now that Prednisone turned my hair curly ! Love you Dr. DRAY! HOPE YOU have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year !

Naz: Hello Dr Dray! I was wondering if you had recommendations for shampoo products that do not contain silicones (Insoluble silicones) that’s also meant to be an Anti-dandruff shampoo?

Lauren George: I’m curious to hear what you think about the vanicream shampoo and conditioner ☺️ Also, if I use the moisture mist from no nothing, does that mean I also need a clarifying shampoo?

Lisa H: Mill Creek has great hair products as well. I am in my 50’s and have very fine long hair. The Biotin Peptide H-24 really is wonderful. My hair has never been so healthy. I also wash my hair daily and haven’t used any heating tools for 9 months. My hair has never been more healthier. It’s sold in most Natural Stores and on Amazon. Merry Christmas!

How I Fixed My Seborrheic Dermatitis Scalp: I have an itchy scalp (seborrheic dermatitis) and heard great reviews from others with scalp issue on the Carol Daughter's shampoo. I'd love to try this!

T Grayson: Merry Christmas Dr Gray to you and family...you look beautiful as usual I want to thank you for all that you do for us.. your an inspiration God bless

houseofmany79: I guess I'm just one of those people that loves good smelling hair. I wish there was a shampoo and conditioner that was none irritating without sulfates yet smelled divine! My hair is naturally wavy and long.

username is unavailable: I've always loved your mermaid hair Dr. Dray, I wish you and your mom a Merry Christmas!

Lilmcake l: You look beautiful! Quick question : How do you feel about the ingredients in the Herbal Essences Bio Renew aloe + Eucalyptus and the Honey + Vitamin B shampoo and conditioner pairs ?

Edith Lori: Love the wash day delight shampoo

Aline Bulzacchelli: My scalp loves Carol’s Daughter! Thanks for this wonderful recommendation!! Happy Holidays!!!

Steph M: I'd definitely listen to your recommendations rather than those so called 'pro hairdressers' smh.. all they do is look down on drugstore brands and only promote super expensive shampoos not everyone can afford.

Skylar Cowell: i have found the coconut milk shampoos and conditioners make my hair feel so soft and healthy, the one i am currently using is Equate Coconut Milk. i’ve been trying to find a good long-term shampoo and conditioner that will nourish my hair for optimal thickness and health - is the one i’m using now something you would find to be healthy for my hair?

Avisha Y: After watching all favourites and empties ,,, all we need is your updated routine with new ones

Donna Johnson: Hi Dr. Dray and Merry Christmas. I would like to know what you would recommend for scalp so dry it's like a white layer? Thank you for all your videos, they're very helpful.

roma patel: Can you discuss derma rolling for hair loss? I’ve seen a few videos about it, but I’m skeptical. Especially as an at home method. Would love to know what you think of this method!

Carny Strickland: Happy holidays. Do you think you could do best 2020 skincare from the drugstore/ affordable. Thank you dr dray for the great content.

Jerson Ascencio: "I got this in *Blood* Bath & beyond" I am

Elizabeth Flores: Hi Dr dray my hair has been falling out quite a bit recently for a couple different reasons. Dandruff being one. (Im more on the oily side but i heard showering everyday wasn’t good so I stopped and noticed I started to get dandruff so I will go back to showering everyday) Would the no nothing moisture shampoo and conditioner be good to use for my hair type? (If I still notice dandruff I’d accompany the nizoral, what I’m currently using, accordingly)

Laurie Jean: Speaking of hair, a video on finasteride would be amazing!

Vanilla Bean: QV shampoo and conditioner in Australia are both very good.

TheDarlin'Delaine: Happy holidays Dr Drey! Could you go over a type of skin care routine for rosacea? I’m having a very hard time finding a moisturizer that won’t cause my face to be reactive.

Coletbradsss: As someone with curly hair, and a Beatles fan, I will now start referring to my hair as an octopuses garden. Lol. I love you dr. Dray!

remainingembers: I used the same volumizing "thickening" shampoo for years and never had an issue until this year I suddenly started getting gummy hair that would dry slow and feel dirty/waxy after the shower... on top of that my scalp and skin stopped being oily and I have no idea why... so I'm still trying to find a good new shampoo that will clean and lift without drying or weighing my hair :(

mmmikhaella: I really love your hair product suggestions but I recently discovered CGM but I'll still watch this. Btw,, merry Christmas to uss

beez.: Dr Dray sending my best wishes and X Mas and cant thank you enough for all u give us...⛄️

ANNA STATHOPOULOU: Happy holidays Dr Dray! All the best!

Marie Sikkink: Winter is very cold where I live, so my CD wash day delight products arrived frozen solid the shampoo says on the bottle not to store it in the cold, and it does seem to have gotten much thicker than intended, pretty much like a normal shampoo. I still like it tho!

Sep Stone: Currently binging all of your videos! Does anyone know if she has videos that talks about fine/ thin hair and if there are any products that are actually effective at making hair more coarse/ thick? I’ve heard of biotin pills, thickening shampoos, diet changes but I’ve seen mixed reviews from users on their efficacy. Some say that nothing can be done if thin/fine hair is due to genetics. Curious on what Dr. Dray has to say…

emiliasofia: Hi Dr Dray, would you recommend using coconut oil on hair before shampooing it?

Susan Stein: Merry Christmas! I just started using Attitude sensitive skin fragrance-free shampoo and conditioner, It has oatmeal in it just like their showers gel and hand soap.

cwm53: Still loving my Function of Beauty shampoo and conditioner. I want to try the hair mask. Merry Christmas!

Samma Akter: Hi, I am from Bangladesh. I have already seen almost 4 vedio's about hair care, from your channel. It's really helpful and informative. The shampoo you recommended non of those are available in my country. Could you make a vedio with some products which are globally available and good. Thank you so much for all those information ❤️ your spread and make us more knowledgeable!

Zahra Qauomi: Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas to everyone. I hope you all have a wonderful time with your loved ones and enjoy the goodies as well. Sending love and prayers to you all beautiful people. Your fan from Afghanistan

Stephanie Hickman: Thank you for this Dr Dray very helpful God bless.

Alex Ellis: Merry Christmas Eve dr dray and everyone stay safe happy holidays

A T: Thanks for another great video! Do you use perfume? If yes, which and what should we be looking for when buying a perfume?

oohlalala: I loove the Inkey List’s Chia gel!!

Chuchu: Aww I really wanna get the no nothing moisture shampoo, but it's from America, and I live in the UK, I wish Dr Dray could give specific shampoos available in specific countries, or internationally available shampoos

Baby B: I gave Carols daughter a try & was excited for it but the fragrance is extremely strong & high up on the ingredient list it irritated my scalp . It became itchy & flaky .

molsond72able: What helped my ends was to stop washing my hair everyday. And to be able to do that I have to use a hair mousse. You should try it. You may be able to go every other day or maybe even every two days.

carla smith: Your long hair is beautiful ... thanks for the video!!

Fancy Bread: FINALLy I found a video of a dermatologist talk about hair care products. I wanted something science backed, not on how “good it is”

Naddy N: Happy Christmas Dr Dray and viewers! Will be super busy tomorrow and getting my seasons greetings out today . Have fun, love and peace to you all ❤️❤️

Deanna Engelking: Hi, love your videos! Curious about sodium laureth sulfate. I always thought it wasn't the best. Is that true?

T. K.: Has anyone else been around long enough to remember the days of Vo5?! Love you Dr. Dray!

Whittney Hall: Do you have a haircare line that you recommend for Malassezia prone skin/scalp? I have mild Malassezia on my face and I've been struggling with an itchy, inflamed, flaky scalp and I'm wondering if it's Malassezia induced as well. Thank you

W W: Can you discuss drugstore shampoos. Some “natural companies” like modern nature demonize any and all drugstore products, would love your thoughts!!!

Honeybee 17: Hey dr dray! I was at target yesterday and was going through the sunscreen. I saw one by Neutrogena it was called Sheer Zinc. I didn’t end up getting it. But Would you say that this is good to use and does it dry without leaving a cast because I have a deeper skin tone.

Business Account: Thanks alot for this video. Is it ok to use the face hyaluronic acid on my hair shafts? Also., any product recommendations for leave in conditioner?

It’s MiMi: Dr Dray how do you feel about hair care products with Biotin that claim they aid in hair growth? I bought a leave in conditioner with biotin but I know it’s a gimmick. I’ve noticed that these biotin hair care products also smell unpleasant.

Jee Jean Medel: MERRY CHRISTMAS DR. DRAY AND EVERYONE!

Shalini K: Merry Christmas! Could at home blue light therapy work for acne caused by progestin-only pills? Can't be on combined pills and sodium levels were too low for spironolactone. Progestin-only pills are the only thing that have worked for my endometriosis but cause bad cystic acne, especially around the jaw line. My choices now are the endo pain or the acne pain. It's impossible to choose.

Jacob Roege: I would love maybe a video on short hair. What might be different about hair care if you have very short hair on the sides, with a little length on top (that can get dry while the scalp can get oily...)
