DISCLAIMER: ALL PRODUCTS WERE BOUGHT BY ME, UNLESS SAID IN VIDEO. ALL OPINIONS ARE 100% MY OWN.

************************************************************************

Everyone welcome back to my channel. I know I've been gone for a while, but I am back. I took a bit of a break from social media hosting like selfies and doing anything beauty related just because of what has been going on so first things. First covert. 19 happened and my son was in daycare, which was great and then this whole thing broke out and he had to come back home and that I had to go back to working part-time. So things have been a little bit crazy. Because of that, and then we had a whole issue with what's going on in the u.s. right now and basically what's happening in the whole world because we're all affected by what's happening. I didn't feel comfortable coming on and posting things that weren't related to. What'S going on right now, there's a really great positive movement happening right now, with black lives matter. I know a lot. People still want to see videos and just feel somewhat normal, even though there is some serious stuff going on, and I still do want to create content and share it to guys. So a lot of you guys have been requesting to see what my current favorites are from my hair, so I'm gon na be sharing. All of that today. I just wanted to say that anyone that is going out and protesting just be careful. So, moving on to the video I do have a few products here that I'm going to show you guys that are black owned and I do have a few that aren't. I definitely want to switch over to using black bone products. I probably still will use some of my favorites that aren't black owned here and there. So far I've tried out a few black bone stuff, but unfortunately they don't compare to the stuff that I've been using for about six years. So I'm still on the hunt, for you know a black-owned, deep conditioner, a black-owned leave-in few things here with me that I'm gon na show you guys that are black tones. This is just my current, updated fear. It'S for my hair. That has helped me throughout my hair journey. I did recently try out again deep conditioner by alakay naturals and I don't know, there's just me, but I feel like they've changed their formula and unfortunately I don't like this new formula. I used to love this deep conditioner when I first got my hands on it. At the natural hair, show in Atlanta decided to try it out again, and it just didn't do anything for my hair. It felt like it just slid right off my hair and did it penetrate? I don't I don't know. Why feeling that the formula change, but maybe did it maybe was just me I don't know so. I'M gon na start off where I guess my shampoo. This shampoo is not black own, but it's a shampoo that I honestly really do like and if I could find something that can replace it awesome. If I can't, then I'm just going to keep using it, it's the cream of nature, argan oil, moisture and shine shampoo. I got it in the big container or I got in the big bottle because of this whole Cove in nineteen things have things are clothes. I can't get my hands on the stuff that I need. So I decide to get the big bottle versus the small one which usually lasts me like two months or so I think so. I decide to just get the big one because I'm always using it so yeah. I love this shampoo. It does a really good job with cleaning my hair and my scalp. It doesn't leave my hair or Scout feeling really dry or strip. It does a really good job with making it clean, but also keeping it moisturized. That'S why it's called moisture and shine when I've been using this for, like maybe five years. I really really do love this shampoo yeah. This is a great shampoo. As for the price price, I don't remember how much it is exactly, but it's very inexpensive. It'S probably around like six dollars, or so it's not very expensive at all the big one. I don't remember how much this was, but the normal sized one that you usually see in your beauty supply stores it's about 635, definitely cheaper in the States. Of course I live in Canada, but it's a good price. So so I don't have a conditioner with me because I personally do not use conditioners in my hair. I feel like they don't do anything for me. I am a person that loves deep conditioners and hair masks. So I'll tell you guys. I tried I like a natural and I honestly I didn't like it, and that was a old favorite. I'M out of my Mally moisture, deep conditioners, i love Maya, moistures deep conditioners. I don't have that on me now, because it's done and I'm kind of struggling with finding a new, deep conditioner, but any one of Mally moistures deep conditioners. They all work very, very well for me personally, I really like them, so any one of theirs is really really good I'll put them on the screen, so you guys can see any one of those I love. They work really really good and again they're about maybe $ 10 a piece, and I like them, there's a really good job with make my hair nice and soft easy to detangle once it's in and yeah and speaking of detangling, I love to use a detangler brush And I have this one: I actually have it in my online store. If anyone is interested, it's that flexible brush that you see everywhere right now. I have them on sale for $ 15 free shipping to the US and Canada. We just have a few left once these are sold out. That'S it. We aren't bringing them back. So if you guys are interested in the brush definitely grab one. So for me, I like to use this more so when I'm out of the shower, when my hat, when I have my leave it a moisturizer in my hair, I go ahead and detangle my hair. I personally don't like to keep the bracket I like to. Have it free just take like feel like it does a better job with getting through my hair. I feel like when I have the bracket on. I don't know for me. I feel like it doesn't do a good job, but when it's nice and free it does a really great job with getting through my hair, getting out all the kinks and knots yeah. I really like it so I've been using it for about well six months now. So it actually comes in three different colors. If you guys are interested, it comes in pink black and green or like a minty color. So it's three different colors and again they're 15 bucks, each free shipping. So, moving on to a spray that I like to use, when I'm trying to refresh my hair, I love using the peppermint rose, Moisture replenishing spritz by Linden Ivy. So it's this one right here and I like to use it on puffs wash and gos or if I'm trying to you, know redo my hairstyle like a twist out or braid out or something I just do some quick spritz all over my hair. That'S my my hair soaking wet, but just to get it damp. I guess you could say it. You can also use it on your face. I love using this on my face after I finish washing it, I kind of use it as a toner and because it has the peppermint it makes my face feel so you know alive if that makes sense. So I really like using on my hair and my face, and it is black-owned, so this is a great favorite of mine. I'Ve probably been using this about maybe three to four years. Something like that. I don't remember: it's been a while I've had this. I'Ve been using this spritz for a while, so speaking of spritz, I have a spray bottle that I absolutely love again. This is available in my online store. I currently have solid white and solid black bottles in stock. My favorite is definitely the solid white is a continuous 360 mist, which is great, so you just do one long, pull it sprays for a long time longer than your average spray bottle, which really soaps on your hair. I feel like with this light mist you can make your hair damp or you can. You know you can soak it down if you want to, depending on what you want, but for me I usually just want to damp in my hair, and I like that, it's a thin mist. So it covers more of my hair and, like I said it doesn't make my hair super wet just one. You see how long it sprays for it's. It'S pretty awesome for me personally. I just use water in this because it's a mist bottle. You only want to use water, so I use warm water in my spritz bottle because my hair loves warm water all right. So, if you guys have been follow me for a while, you guys know my favorite moisturizer. If you don't know, is the Cantu natural hit? It'S the cat, coconut curling cream and I got the big version because again, Cova 19 things aren't open. I was afraid I wasn't gon na be able to get my hands on it as frequently as I normally do like. I would go out maybe once a month and restock so I decided to double up and got myself two of these and it's not black-owned, but it's something that I have been using for about. Six. No, let's see five about five years and I honestly love it. I cannot find anything to replace this so in the States. This is about five bucks here I always see it for like ten, I mean the smaller size. Of course the smaller size is about ten, it's pretty pricey over here. So usually, when I go over to New York, I stock up because it's half the price - I don't mind it. If I can't get in New York I'll bite here in Toronto, I don't care because it works. It really does a really good job with my hair when it comes to moisturizing, defining everything I use it for washing goes twist outs, everything I use it for every style. I did use it for this. This is the old washing mode. I turned into a pup now, speaking of puffs, I actually stopped using. You know the cotton hair ties that you normally find at your beauty, glass doors. I started switching over to silk scrunchies, so I have some here. So I have gray pink and black, and these are also available in my online store right now. There are a hundred percent silk they're, really great quality, and they have a really good stretch to them. So for me, for example, I use this mostly when I'm putting my hair up in a puff. For example, if I went into my makeup I want to wash my face, I want to wear puffs. I use my silk scrunchies they're, really gentle on the hair. They don't suck out the moisture out of your hair like cotton. Does it removes moisture from your hair which can cause breakage, because your hair is now dry and the constant dryness can cause breakage. So I started using scrunchies and they're so cute. The colors are really really cute and I see a lot of girls just wearing them on their wrists, which i think is really cute, but I use them for my hair. Those are the three colors and they are available in my online store. If you guys are interested so next we have my favorite gel, it's not black toned, but I I don't know I don't know of any other gel. That'S lightweight like this. That can work with my washing go because this is the only time I really use gel and then, when I'm doing a puff of course, I still got to look for other brands, but I've been using this for years. It'S the Eco style gel. It'S the olive oil one. I absolutely love it. If I can find you know a black-owned one awesome, if not I'm just gon na keep using it Eco self gel it's fairly cheap. It'S really! I know I love a book. Do you love it? It doesn't have a super strong smell the whole on it. I wouldn't say it's a ten like when I do puffs, it's not a ten. It'S like it's very light. It'S like a five six. What I knew washing goes, though, it's a really great hold, really really really good. When I do Washington goes, but for some reason, when I do puffs the hold is not there, it's not a ten. When I do twist up, I want to say it's an eight washing goes, I want to say it's a ten and it doesn't make my hair hard or crunchy or anything. It doesn't flake or anything like that. But it's definitely not a 10. When I do high puffs anyone can anyone relate, because I honestly it's not a ten when I do high puffs, like you, can probably tell it. I turned to frizz: it's only been a few hours, it's just the frizz, but I like it. It works and it works with a lot of the products that I use on my hair. It it actually mixes really well with them. So that's why I keep using it. I'Ve tried other gels and they just don't mix with my can. It starts to create build up flakes white residue, so these two for me they mix really well so yeah. That'S why I use it all right so now onto the very last thing I think I see the the best for last and that has to be the satin bonnet. I have been using my satin bonnet from the day I went natural when I was relaxed. I was using a satin scarf, but now that I am natural I only use. I pretty much only use a satin bonnet once in a while I'll use a silk scarf like when I do a high puff. I wear silk scarves, but for the most part I wear my bonnet. These are the bonnets right here and again they are available in my online shop. Yes black-owned and I got black. I have a really pretty pink and then we have a really pretty blue. It'S actually free shipping on the bonnets. If you buy one, you get free shipping, u.s. and ontario canada. We do ship to all of canada on all of the u.s. satin bonnet or silk. Hands-Down have to use it at night if you're, using bandanas or if you're sleeping on your cutting pillow stop switch over to silk or satin cotton and any other material. Besides. Silk and satin is actually sucking moisture from your hair. So all that hard work in all those hours you spent putting that moisture in you have now lost it, because you're sleeping on cotton or polyester, or whatever other material, that you're using you're, actually ruining your hair and drying out your hair. It'S causing friction which is leading to breakage. You want to make sure that you're actually getting it from a company that actually is using silk our site. Ours are really great. Quality comes with a drawstring. Those of you guys who you know you don't like that tight feeling on your head. These are really lightweight and you can adjust them to your liking. They also have a nice elastic. So if you don't want to use the drawstring, you can just put it on without the drawstring, but if you want to make it a little bit more snug to your head, like me, I like to make it nice and you can use your drawstring, so yeah Switch over to the silk or sign - and thank me later because you're here is definitely crying for help if you are sleeping on cotton, so that is the end of the video. Hopefully you guys enjoyed it. If you guys have any video requests, you definitely leave them down below. I will have an updated wash day routine video coming up for you guys very soon, but if there's anything else that you guys want to see me do - or maybe you guys want tips on something, I can definitely do that for you so yeah any questions. Any video requests that you guys want to see definitely comment down below and I will work on those freeze alright. So that is the end. I will see you guys in my next video bye

Karen Fitzgerald: For a black owned Deep conditioner/leave in I HIGHLY recommend Miche Beauty. The moisture line has all of my holy grail products.

Keanna Danielle: That creme of nature shampoo is the truth. I’ve used so many shampoos and they all make my hair feel like a Brillo pad. I can actually detangle with that shampoo ❤️

yvonne c: Honey’s handmade has great deep conditioner and it is black own. The company has sales on Fridays.

Debbie Debeaux: Being a black business owner, I absolutely love the support from our community. It means a lot to us. I recently decided to switch up my products as well and I'm thinking about a business I've seen for years called Hydratherma Naturals. I've heard good things about them and they have protein and moisturizing products. We'll see.

So Ayanna: I love that Creme of Nature shampoo! Its really moisturizing but its kinda hard to squeeze out the bottle! Lol

Sandra: Bomb black-owned hair products: miche beauty, soultanicals, camille rose, and mielle organics, honey's handmade, uncle funky's daughter, TGIN, curls, curls dynasty, Briogeo, Qhemet biologics, and so many more.

Calonghorn11: I just purchased a brush and a bonnet I can’t wait to see how the brush works for my currently transitioning hair! Love your videos :)

Natasha McCoy: I’m white with 3B hair. I’ve noticed through Twitter how many WHITE MEN owned black hair products. I’ve been using Carol’s Daughter and Cantu products for years among other things but have had to throw everything away. Thanks for this video!!

Anika. C: I would love to buy more black own products but they're so expensive

Beatriz Esparza: Hi Shannique!! I loved your video!! I’ve been a subscriber for some time!! Love all ur other videos too!! I too have been on a journey of transitioning from traditional main stream products to Black, Brown & Indigenous owned-products. & just like u I too been on a “decolonizing” journey (if you’d like to learn more I’d be happy to talk with you just dm me) so In terms of beauty products, really all products in my life, I’ve also been shifting into more natural products with ingredients that have a cultural and historical connection to my people/ancestors. I say this bc on my own personal journey the two hardest things I’ve experienced is: 1. The price. Black or brown - owned doesn’t mean cheaper. I’m not saying it’s a bad thing bc I love supporting communities of color and that’s where I want to put my money, not with the people who oppress me. Plus I would much rather pay more for a product knowing it’s ethically made, the ingredients are better, etc. (I’m also not saying all brown/black/indigenous companies are ethical (to the earth & humans & animals, and sometimes they might not have the cleanest ingredients, anyone reading should do their research) 2. I have learned that when products DO have cleaner, more natural ingredients, WITHOUT harmful chemicals, my body, skin, hair, whatever, has needed time to get ‘familiear’ with the product, if that makes sense! It’s almost like my body needs time to fully rid itself of the harsh ingredients before being able to fully absorb the new product!! Try to give them some more time so that ur hair or skin can get used to the new products, they might be better in the long run With love, B

AshleyNCurls: Love this video. It is so important to support black owned businesses! Thanks for this!

DeLinda Williams: I love the olive oil Eco Styler gel and have been using it for many years now. Like you , I have had the same experience of not being able to keep my hair sleek with the gel when it's in a high Puff unless I had a perm, of which I am not doing any perm since 2013 , I have been natural since then. I have used the Eco Styler gel to hold my twists, because of the type of hair that I have , it gets to be pretty straight when it's dry so after doing the twist it would come apart. Therefore , I use the Eco Styler gel to hold my twist together then I can always replenished by using a tip of water down my strands to refreshen my twists. I'm not too familiar with a lot of black owned products and I never thought of really looking into it too much, but I really love the Cantu line, and now I have just recently purchased my leave in conditioner from the shea moisture line since it became recently difficult to get my hands on the Cantu leave in conditioner that I'm used to. Can't wait till businesses go back to what they used to be in terms of stocking up and also the prices.

Janet R: Would love to see a braid out routine! ❤️

Tywan Brown: Hey Shanique, I luv the Cantu coconut curling cream too it’s been my HG for years.

The Relaxed Afro: If you say it will work on your hair I am willing to give it a try!! I have had excellent results from your recommendations.

Kizzymarlene: Yes skinny minny!! I see it girl! I love the earrings and I'm heading over to your site right now to order my bonnet. I love the fact that you have a draw sting. I've purchased too many bonnets that were too tight!. Take care.

Cherelle :D: Hey x Would like to recommend Brown Butter Beauty products to you. I absolutely love their shampoo and deep conditioner. They are expensive for me because I am a UK buyer and I am sure the place I buy it from passes on all the international taxes onto the buyer. They may be more reasonably priced as you are in Canada :)

Lexx Full: My favorites include Mielle Organic's Avocado Moisture Milk, The Mane Choice's 3-1 Leave in Conditioner. I have yet to find a really good shampoo though.

Curlybella: Love the video! Giving me some ideas! I just bought a Felicia Leatherwood traveling brush in the color pink but I'm not gonna use for travel lol mainly when my hair gets longer and when I wanna wear a wash and go!

DeLinda Williams: I love and made some satin scrunchies in 2017,because I've noticed too much hair in other kinds after I remove them. Satin scarves and bonnets are my go to at nights.

Prophetess KJ: I use the cream of nature products also but I’ve been hearing rave reviews about the melanin black owned hair products so I may give those a try.

Allie's Natural Hair Community: In my online shop I have an AMAZING deep conditionrr called Cupuacu Buttercreme. I'm a Black Owned Business and I ship internationally

Erica Edwards: Thanks for the awesome videos Shanique! I would love to see you do a video on how to grow hair length and things you do to prevent breakage.

NaturalButtah: TGIN deep conditioner is really good.

Ali B: Thanks for sharing with us! Miche beauty has 2 great deep conditioners; a mositurizing one and a protein one!

Mommy In Color: I love that moisture and shine shampoo by Creme of Nature. Im currently obsessed with Creme of Nature clay and charcoal line. The prepoo is amazing!

Lovely Africa: I’m still going to order the multi color earrings, and one of them bonnets! I’m glad you back❤️❤️

nattieb33: Camille Rose - Curl Maker Gel (comes in a pump bottle) Mielle Organics - Honey & Ginger Styling Gel Both I believe are Black Owned ❤️

ellePatrice: Have you ever tried Adwoa Beauty products? I've been using them for about 6 months. I love all of their products for my natural hair! Also, I received my brush! I loved it. I think next time I'll take the bracket off! Thanks!❤

Liz Austin: You put me on to this shampoo in 2015, been using it ever since! A staple! And the cantu coconut curling cream a few years after. The way the coconut cream moisturizes

Mrs. C: Mielle leave in conditioner from the honey pomegranate line is amazing!

Taleedior: Thank you for this now I know what I need to get for my hair

SimplyNaturalCai: Glad to see you back! I’ll definitely check out your store

donya m: I love this video!! Thank you for the product information and welcome back!

taasshhlove: Black owned deep conditioner, Miche Beauty both the protein and moisturizing one are absolutely bomb and worth every cent.

Tane M: Trust me on this... Eden Bodyworks Almond Marshmellow deep conditioner is awesome! Perfect balance of softness and strength. Thank me later....

queenangelfire5: Try products from these black owned companies: The Mane Choice, Shea Moisture, Mielle, Camille Rose. These brands have deep conditioners and hair masks. ‍♀️

Diane Walcott: I wanna see you do a mini braids on your natural hair using cantu coconut curling cream please n thanks

Caki Pauyo: I can relate with eco styler having light hold with puffs.

cege cej: Have you tried Mielle organics, the butterland, uhuru naturals, or mo knows hair products? They all have great products. And they so happened to all be black owned

Thully Things: Love your hair it's gorgeous thanks for the tips we've missed your videos ❤️❤️

Julieta Cadete: Camille rose, shea moisture, curls dynasty, mielle organics, TGIN, carol's daughter, soultanics, mane's choice, aunt jackies, and many more. You can find all hair regimen products on these brands, from shampoo to gel. P.S: curls dynasty hair gel is BOOOOMB. 10 times better than eco gel trust me on this one. I have a type 4a hair and it does wonder to my hair

TheCopperFro: I love TGIN honey miracle hair mask, and maybe you can try Soultanicals?

Najae Moore: you should try, tgin honey miracle deep conditioner, treluxe shampoo and leave in, adwoa shampoo, curls blueberry bliss hair mask and the camille rose naturals signature collections line. They’re all black owned and are AMAZING!

taylor williams: Just got my bonnet and tie!! The bonnet fits perfectly!!!

DJ: Just bought a bonnet that shampoo is the goat! I used to use it when I had relaxed hair too

Ryn D: Oyin handmade and kinky kurly have great leave ins, both black owned! She scent it and curl origin have AMAZING deep conditioners/masques. Both black owned. You get both moisture and hydration. Miche, alikay naturals and she scent it have great shampoos! Kinky kurly is a great clarifying, my hair feels so good. I'm using cream of nature until it runs out.

Roya J: I don't know if anyone has mentioned adwoa beauty but I've tried the deep conditioner, shampoo, leave in and curl cream. I love them all, I also really enjoy soultanicals some Camille rose Miele and mane choice products

Ciera Love: Can you do a video on Aunt Jackie's gel or the wetline gel? And can you try the texture id line?

Chocolate_Rhythm: Hi Shanique! :) Obia Naturals Babassu Deep Conditioner ($14)- Ph-Balanced, Vegan, Cruelty-Free, and Obia is a chemist. All of her products are. She ships outside the USA. Obia Naturals Shampoo Bar($10)- Amazing!!! Kinky Curly Knot-Today($12)- Vegan, cruelty-free, and black-owned. It helps with detangling your hair. (Amazon) Does Canada have Target? It might be there. Kinky-Curly Curling Custard($15)- I use for wash-n-go's. Hair Yum Edge Control ($12)- Vegan, cruelty-free, and black-owned. (Etsy.com) I love this edge control. Tropic Isle Living Black Castor Oil(Price depends how many ounces you buy $8-$10)- Black-owned. I use this castor oil for my hot oil treatments.

Denise GWilliams: Thanks for the info on how to care your hair my hair is breaking non stop and I really think is my pillow and head wrap for real because I try everything else and it's just not stopping definitely I have to get one of those bonnett loving the spray bottle too thanks for sharing keep these wonderful vlogs coming

Asmera Smith: TGIN has GREAT deep conditioners!!

Beaubeauknows: The mane choice kiwi and mint shampoo has replaced my cream of nature shampoo... it was bittersweet but I moved on from it.

Arturia Silimon: I get the same results with eco. I love the hold for wash n gos, but for hairstyles (puffs, puns, etc) it’s pretty weak

Lynelle Dupal: Can you do a review on gorilla snot styling gel. The one in the blue and red container. I personally find that it has a greater hold than Eco.

christel bone: Design Essentials almond and avocado shampoo is the bomb. It cleans and doesn't dry your hair out and it smells soooooo good.

Bromista Davis: Where did you get that big Cantu leave in from? I have never seen that before and I live in the US

Deanna love: I had to stop using eco ☹ because I started getting headaches after using it. I liked using it for my wash and goes which I did not do to often but yea

Lolli_zwide: SheaButterCottage.com. They do lovely shampoo bars. Also love that they are vegan and come in recyclable box. Black owned and there's plenty of them that need our support and are reasonably priced. Even the expensive ones, if we think about taking that 5$ that we spent at Starbucks or some other useless and potentially harmful rubbish that we buy, suddenly you have that extra 5 to put towards that black owned 'expensive' product. It's doable it just takes will and dedication.
