Hi sistas, here is how I do my "wash and go" to define my curls on my short type 4 natural hair. My hair is high porosity with a mix of 4b, 4a, and a bit 4c curls and coils. Hope you enjoy! Please like, subscribe and comment below.

What'S up sisters today I'll be showing you how I define my curls using the quote? Unquote, I guess wash and go method or type for naturals, because the washing go is such kind of vague and protective for naturals. We kind of happen to actually just you know, get out the shower sit down in literally. Do I here for like two hours to get our curls to define and yeah. I actually learned how to found out that I can make my curls pop doing this method. Actually, two years ago, because out of the ten years I've been natural, I never thought I would be able to define my curls without using that technique that I did with the Denman brush with the whole bumping and curling. No, I actually found out. I could do it using my fingers and taking my time and being patient with my hair. So let's get into the tutorial. I am, of course using my leave-in conditioner for main choice type for a leaf, and I'm also using my males organics curl refresher, which is mainly water. At this point cuz I do refill it up with water. Sometimes so again you can use water or you can use the refreshing curl spray but, as always, I always part my hair, the long part of my hair from the top, since it is cut into a tapered style. As you can see, my hair is growing debate on what I'm gon na do with it, cut it or just keep laying it grow. I don't know yet, but I'm also suffering my sides from the back. I always start in the back. My hair is clean, fully drying will not fully dry but almost dry. The gel I'm using today is the thicket shine. Styling gel my favorite jail by Fantasia. I see and it's a protein gel. I have high porosity hair, so it works really well in my hair. Some people, local rice and you may not want to use it what a short part for the shorter strength. I bring your coils like at the nape of my neck, in the back and at the temples by my ears, my shorter pieces, I just finger coil, but for the longer pieces, this the washing go method and I'm talking about you can call it shingling. I don't know I didn't think my hair would be able to do this, but I first spray my hair make sure your hair is soaking wet. I make sure my hair's really wet using the curl refreshing spray or some water, and then I apply the gel from root to end. I suggest using a life. I have to use gel to clump my curls. Some people probably ask well why don't you use a moisturizer cream that doesn't clump my curls? It doesn't control the frizz period. Never has that's why I always resort to gel when it comes to defining my growth, so I'm going to detangle and use the Denman brush. Not to bump my ends, but it does help separate the strands, so I'm just using that dimming brush to actually help me separate my strands more because I have to go through each strand and rub it through my fingers. So I'm just using the diamond brush. It does help define a little bit, but I have to actually go through and separate them and smooth them out to bring out my curl pattern anymore, as you can see, I'm just rubbing it through. That was actually too big of a strand, so I separate them even more and I'm just rubbing my strands through my index finger and thumb or middle finger and index finger sometimes running from root to end. You have to go, I'm going through each strand, so this is almost as tedious as doing finger close, but just a little bit faster, I'm going to show you that again far away spraying, my hair make sure that my hair is soaking wet and then I'm going To apply the gel again from root to end you're sure that all the strands are covered and my whole hair is covered and then I'm brushing through with the diamond brush to separate the strands. It'S very easy, but it's it's almost tedious and takes a long time. That'S why I don't really do it, but it is. It does last a good week and I'm just rubbing through going through each strands, to clump them together and when you're doing this do not go back and touch the hair or strands until you're done, and you dried it. So, as you can see, curls are popping now I finished my whole head. I want to diffuse my hair, I don't sleep on my wash and goes like some other styles. I would but I get a hand dryer and defuse it now. I didn't show it in the video, but I should have, but I actually bend over when my hair, my head, is to the ground on the strands of my hair is facing the ground and I diffuse, in order to get my hair to stand up like this. I don't pick up my roots with my washing goes. I just bend over and diffused my hair and it takes about 20 minutes now to make sure your hair is not crunchy hard. I always use the oil or spray oil, preferably and spray your here, and this can soften your hair up and add shine to it at the same time, and that is it. That is how I define my curls. I know I felt like that was fast, but yeah it's I didn't believe I could do this to my hair, probably like some of some of y'all, but it's totally possible. If you take the time and try, if not, it's almost a two strand twist out three strand twist out papadum curls girl, but I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and also check out another video. If you haven't already like subscribe and comment below on what videos you would like to see more for me, alright, thanks for watching peace, uh sisters, you

jai Moi: Thank you! You gave me the courage to cut my locs after 18 years. They were down to my butt and Thursday I cut them off except for around 5 inches just so I can do these styles. Thank you for helping me make the change I've been wanting. Peace and blessings!

Toni: I just love your hair, makeup, soothing voice and the fact you get right to the point!! Thank you.

chococat178: Loved this hairstyle ❤️❤️❤️ Great tutorial that gets to the point without being 30 minutes long.

Ebony Mzila: You inspired me to take my crochets out, and love on my hair! I’m loving your makeup tutorials. Thank you, Carmen for your amazing videos and your transparency.

Cherlyn Travis: That style is really beautiful on you. And your makeup...absolutely gorgeous! Always good to see your videos.

Leona: Your hair and makeup are gorgeous! Natural hair really is a journey. I'm in the middle of wash day (chore) and was thinking of flat ironing my hair because this is so hard! Watching you has persuaded me to stay on the journey and keep trying for defined coils. Thank you!

Danielle Hamner: You make me want to cut my hair so that I can achieve this look. This style is beautiful and your makeup is stunning!

Uniqueleemade: The onlyyyy cream I've ever used that will clump my curls is Creme Of Nature Pudding Perfection Curl Enhancing Creme. I think it's a hybrid of cream and gel. It's my hidden gem!

Maeli santos: Amo seus videos, finalização perfeita

SB25: Gorgeous! I haven't done a wash n go in a while but this video makes me want to try it again!

LaKiesha Thomas: So glad I ran across this video! I've been natural for a year, and have been struggling with my curly hair. I usually only wear it in a "poof ball" and was contemplating going back to the relaxer. Definitely gonna try this tomorrow!

Sonji Brown: Love this!!! I’m 4 type as well and I didn’t think our hair type could pop like this! I may try this on a day when I’m not lazy lol and have plenty of time to try this!

noneyah: I just cut off my waist length locs and I'm starting my natural journey! You have the EXACT same type of hair I seem to have, combo of 4a-b in the front with some 4c mainly in the back, and high porosity! Even down to how your edges lay (I've been trying to figure out how to lay them properly around my widows peak and the way you did it--I'm definitely following suit!). Thanks fo making this video!

Fifenfurter: This tutorial honestly changed my life. I grew up with a single, white mom who had no idea how to do black hair. I hated oils, mousse didn't do anything and gel was always crunchy and created a ton of shrinkage. She always used the Pink styling creme, which I also hated. She really tried but needless to say, I dumped traditional hair products and stuck to moisturizers and conditioners growing up. I have never been able to get definition. Thank you for making this video. Until this video I, like many others, have spent lots of money on hair products and time watching other videos. Thank you!!!

C Hill: I never leave comments BUT you look amazing!!! Thank you so much for sharing. I just turned 50 and COVID got me crazy...gone natural and I think I have a similar curl pattern. Excited to try!!! Thank you

J M: 2/14/2022 Update: I CUT MY HAIR ON SATURDAY 2/12/2022 and I totally love it. I've only done one style... finger coils. I'm going to take them down and do some other styles like shingling and two-strand twists. It's Tapered in the back and low on the sides, slightly longer on the top. My hubby doesn't know yet as he works out of town, and I wanted to get used to it and have time to play around with it. But like I said I love it. I loved it from the moment I finished cutting it and I'm glad I made this decision to finally cut my badly damaged hair! Hi, another beautiful hair video. Every time I look at your hair after wash I feel like we're natural twinsies. With the exception, I'm Low Porosity (my hair has major shrinkage, it always looks dry even when it's freshly moisturized, takes forever to dry, and as my mom used to say it sucks up everything). I want to cut it so bad. My hubby was against it but recently after harassing him so much he's like whatever man.... lol. Seeing your hair gives me a little more confidence. I've shingled my hair a few times and loved it. I know it would look great if I did it on short hair. Have to decide if I'm gonna cut it or go to a Pro. Sigh, lol... what to do, what to do?

CharmW: Love this look .. I’m here for it

It looks so much better, and it’s easier to camouflage my uneven hair growth. Are use great heat protectant’s, and do it very seldom. That had to be it. My plan is to trim my own hair and see if that helps.

Rebecca Johnson: You are absolutely gorgeous. Love your hair and makeup. Thank you for sharing.

Jazzy Jazz Tv: I love the look ❤️

Monica Garrett: I have been natural for over a year but I was pressing my hair. Since the closed schools because of COVID-19 I decided to start wearing it curly to get use to it. One of my problems is morning hair. Could you video what you do in the morning to maintain your style?
