Sup guys today we're doing a hack video I compiled 15 of some of my most helpful hair. Hacks they'll probably recognize many of these hacks because I use them all in my daily life and they just make everything so much easier, so starting out with the basics. First, this is great for all hair types, but especially if you have dry frizzy and curly hair skip the towels and use a t-shirt to dry. Your hair towels have grooves that cause friction and agitate the hair cuticle, causing unnecessary frizz and breakage. But cotton t-shirts have a flatter surface that won't educate your hair, cuticles, leaving and defined, and smooth I'll just scrunch and squeeze the excess water out of my curls or another ways that I'll actually wrap the t-shirt around my head, securing it on the top or bottom With an elastic tie holding in place as a t-shirt absorbs all the excess water. Another basic that I find really handy to know deep conditioning is a must - and I personally love using these plastic conditioning caps that you can find at most Beauty Supply stores to trap. The heat and moisture, but if you happen to run out of these plastic caps or you just can't get to one, just grab a plastic grocery bag as long as there's no holes in the bag, it'll trap the heat and moisture in the same way as those Deep conditioning caps found at the beauty, supply store and they're free. I really enjoy deep conditioning overnight, but if you've ever tried this, it can get pretty messy if the water and product from your hair start dripping down your neck and onto your pillow. So if you decide to decondition or hot oil treatment at night, grab the longest tube sock you own and tie it around the edge of your deep conditioning cap to catch and absorb any oil or water that might ligo make sure the tube sock is halfway. On the plastic cap and halfway touching your skin to make sure it'll catch, any liquids then place a satin scarf or bonnet over that for added protection and head to bed. You won't feel a drop of liquid on your skin or pillow hack number. Four and I've been doing this for over three years now, and I can't even imagine how I function before doing this install a mirror in your shower. They actually sell shower mirrors that are designed to suction to the tiles in your shower. It'S awesome, especially for curly girls, girls, who wash their hair in sections or for those with a ton of thick hair, that's hot to detangle. Seeing what you're doing in the shower as you wash into tangly hair saves you so much time. You can actually see everything. You'Re doing streamlining the process and making it so that you don't do any unnecessary damage, especially while you're detangling your hair and is a mirror out there for every person's preference or budget. You can get them super cheap for a dollar at the dollar store or splurge. On a more complex one that you can buy at specialty stores and online from basic to Fogg list shower mirrors or one of the most helpful hats, that every girl and guy with hair should invest in sick of having to clean your hair ID or drains tired Of having to Hawkeye each hair strand and try to catch it before it clogs up your drain, grab yourself a hair stopper for your drain. These bad boys do all the work for you so that you can enjoy your shower without having to stress over catching each shed hair when your shed hair starts heading towards the drain, it'll get caught in the grooves of the stopper. Has this ever happened to you? You'Re enjoying your warm shower when all of a sudden, the water turns icy cold and you can't make it hot again, and you still have half your hair to wash well here's an easy act for that. If you live in a place where your hot water turns cold quickly start your shower out on the coolest setting that you're comfortable with then as the water starts to get colder, raise that temperature up slightly to add more warmth and get it comfortable again, then, after A while it may get cold again, but just keep raising that dial a little bit at a time towards the hot setting throughout the duration of your shower. That way. You'Re not using all of your hot water up at once and you're able to shower for as long as you need to without feeling cold or uncomfortable seal, your hair after every wash with a cold water, rinse, cold water shocks, the hair, cuticles closed, flattening the surface And helping to seal in moisture, this makes your sharon's smooth, shiny and super hydrated. So after we washed just make sure you do one last cold rinse to help seal. Everything in a hack number eight is to coat the hair in aloe vera juice after washing aloe vera juice also helps to seal the cuticle shut, helping to seal in moisture and promote shine as an added bonus. It also helps to balance the pH levels of your hair, so try to incorporate aloe vera juice as well, for shiny, smooth and moisturized hair. We'Ve all been there finally finished washing our hair only to step out of the shower dry off and notice that we forgot to rinse out a few spots and clumps of conditioned instead of hopping back in the shower and getting wet all over again or grabbing a Washcloth to try and scrub it out, which could be really abrasive to your hair, grab a baby, wipe to gently and easily remove any leftover product without causing any friction on the hair, and you don't have to hop back in the shower. They also work. Well, if you need to skip a wash or freshen up after working out so quickly and easily remove any buildup on the scalp without affecting the rest of your hair, a flexi rod set, looks super cute when you take it out, but installing it can be a Huge pain in the butt it's hard to keep all those rods organized they flop all over the place, saying, come undone and unravel if they're not tight enough, and it's just really bulky making it hard to fit them all on your head. So what I like to do is secure the ends of the flexi rods together using an elastic hair tie. This keeps the rod shut so that they don't unravel, and it also makes the rods more compact so that they don't take up too much space on your head or interfere with the other sections of hair. Everything is much more organized and streamlined, which just makes the flexi rod process so much more enjoyable. Now I have a whole video dedicated to this awesome, hack and I'll link it below. If you guys want more details, but hack, number 11 is to save money and make your own ribbon hair elastics. I love these ribbon elastics that you can find in stores they're really gentle on my hair, but also really expensive, like five dollars, a pack. So save money by buying the ribbon in bulk online you can make like 400 of these ribbon ties yourself for the same price of five dollars, and it literally takes less than a minute to make one just cut and knot, and the best part is that you Can make them in so many different sizes that you can't find in stores like bigger ones for headbands, smaller ones that I use on my daughter for her little pony tails, and I also use these to secure my flexi rods so making your own ribbon ties are Not only economical, but it just gives you a lot more options. If you want to stretch your twists out to get more length out of it and more definition stretch the twist or around your head and bobby pin them in place, this will stretch them overnight. While you sleep to give you more length and more definition in your twist outs now, I love a good satin bonnet and sentence carve, but I used to have the issue of my scarf falling off at night, so here's hack number 13 how to tie it and Scarcely stays on your head all night and won't slip off, so I hold two corners and drape it over my hair and forehead bring the two corners to the back, and I tie them together and I always tied twice now grab that extra scarf. I give it a little pull, so it's nice and snug against my hair, then just grab those two remaining corners, bring them up and around to the front and tie them together in place. It won't be going anywhere if you have damaged hair, transitioning, hair or hair. That just refuses to curl you'll, like this hack, when styling a twist out, if you find that your ends ruin the entire style because they fall flat and just refuse to curl just grab a few perm rods and roll the ends of your twists around the perm Rods sleep with them overnight and in the morning your ends will be perfectly currently. This is going to make your twist outs, look more uniform and have more life and the last hair hack, this one's actually good for hair and makeup. If you're trying to get dressed - and you can't fit your head into your shirt without messing up your hair style cover your head with a large satin bonnet or a large satin scarf. This will provide a nice and slippery surface on top of your hair, so that your shirt will roll right off your hairstyle, keeping every strand in place, no frizz and no more ruined hairstyles. And if you don't have a scarf, you can always use a bonnet. If you have one, that's large enough, this also works really well, if you're trying to avoid getting makeup on your clothes. Those are my 15 hair hacks. If you enjoyed this video, please let me know in the comments give it a thumbs up. I hope that they were helpful and yeah. I guess that's it. I will see you in the next one. If you missed my last video, I did a washing go hairstyle, incorporating the banding method to stretch out my hair, and I also used a cream to define which was the first time. I'Ve ever tried that it actually worked. So I was really shocked if you guys want to check out that video, you can click the link on top and, if you guys are into daily vlogs and click the link on the bottom to come, hang out with me in the family. Alright, guys I'll see you there feeling my head stop soon.

Shawntas Way: This is definitely the best hacks video I've seen so far!! but duh it's Whitney making the video!

eVaniwithaV: That's it!!! I'm getting a shower mirror! Great tips!

Vinaluv: I don't know how much trouble it would be, but i would love to see a lookbook of some of your favorite styles that you've done.

Cilla: I'm 19 years old and I am now starting to care for my hair without my mom's help. You are a lifesaver! thank you :)

Concert: I honestly didn't want this video to end /: u r a genius, Whitney!

Nahjua Isaac: MY ULTIMATE HAIR HACK: if you want to do a heated hair treatment and don't want to sit under the dryer, throw at shirt into your dryer on high heat for 10-15 minutes or in your over for a little while then wrap your head with the tshirt

Jasmine Wash: Whitney's hair in this video ! I can tell it's getting back to it's original stated. It looks so fluffy and bouncy. I could barely pay attention to the video cause her hair looked so nice. I can't be the one who noticed her hair. I I too am nursing my hair back to health.

Marish Long: Good tips, except for Tip #6. For people that don't want to run a water bill, or use up all the water from others. It's best to get a spray bottle(medium to large size) and wash your hair outside of the shower. Maybe in the kitchen in a chair or on the chair in the bathroom. Fill the bottle with hot or warm water, and cut off the sink. Spray your hair with the bottle of water till it's soak and wet..and then add shampoo. If you need more water just use the sink refill and cut it off. It saves from wasting so much water. Now when you are ready to rinse hop in the shower and rinse the hair off(since the hair is already wet, it should be easy to rinse off) if you are still afraid then just do the spray bottle again to rinse. Then you can put in deep conditioner(outside the shower)..and done. Much cheaper on that water bill, also saves for others who need to shower.

Tee Bellamy: I'm always using plastic bags for deep conditioning (YES I LOOK RACHET WITH IT )

theEarthChildx: Detangle and such outside the shower, saves a ton of time in the shower. Eco friendly :)

Evon Smith: I just watched your 15 technics and will definitely be incorporating them in my daily routine. Thanks and continue keeping your fans informed.

Daisy Do: Shower mirrors and perm rods will definitely be going on my shopping list! The satin scarf/bonnet hair preserver sounds like a great idea too! Thanks! :D

Zakiya Harding: Omg Whitney can you do a tutorial on this hairstyle? it's so fluffy and lush

R Oki: I love the idea of making your own ribbon ties. That is my next project!! I have 3 curly daughters + myself so that is a lot of ribbon ties! I do the plastic bag all the time and I have to buy me a pair of tube socks and try that too!! Oh and I NEED that mirror in my life!!! Thanks for all the tips!!!!

BlakIzBeautyful: Love these! I use about 8 of them and will begin using the remaining 7!

TwinGodesses: Gotta try the diy hair tie hack!! Think I purchased a million of those things and can't find any! Lol.....Great tips Whit!!

Dorian Parpari: I just tried that satin scarf hack and it feels pretty snug. These are so simple and yet no one really thinks of them. Thanks for the tips!

Jasmine Desdune: Thanks Whitney! Instead of a satin bonnet or scarf, I bought a long skirt slip. The elastic part that's meant to go on your waist goes along your hairline and then I use a hair tie to tie the back in a little bun. It gives me a lot of room and has NEVER fallen off during the night.

Sankines: this woman is winning at life!these hacks, wow

zinua: for 4 or 5 months, I've been coating my hair with aloe vera juice and sealing it with an oil (after washing) as seen in one of your videos and it's been one of the best additions to my routine. my hair is shinier, more hydrated and smells so good for daysss.

Totally Tondra: I've been doing that transition to hot water trick in the shower for my longer finger detangling sessions. it works wonders!!

Tory White: Great hacks! I'm still a newbie in my natural hair journey and your videos have always been sooo helpful to me! Many thanks!

Shelly W: Hiii Whitney! I love your channel and I LOVE your gorgeous hair! I would really love some sound advice from you or other viewers, on how to deal with heat damage that you can't cut off because it's mixed in with healthy strands. I've been transitioning for over a year and have cut off almost all of my relaxed ends. Unfortunately I've been so used to wearing my hair straight, I wasn't aware of how much heat damage I had on my natural hair until I finally tried a wash n' go. I found that I do have a lot of pretty coils but the frizzy heat-damaged hair gets in the way of them looking as defined as I'd like. What can I do?? I'd love advice from *any*one!

Totally Tondra: I've been doing that transition to hot water trick in the shower for my longer finger detangling sessions. it works wonders!!

Bellalyful: Thank you for the ribbon tie hack...actually thank you for all them!! your hair looks so healthy after trimming off the dye too

Sparkle Allen: Being a natural can be difficult for me at times. Thank you for these helpful tips!

black.and.nerdy: Plastic bags are all we use in my house. It's a great way to get more use out of them (recycling) and I can fit them on different lengths of hair from short hair to very long hair. Great tip! I'll definitely have to try making my own ribbon hair bands too!

Adaeze: Ohhh yes! Definitely gonna use that last one about using a scarf or bonnet when pulling the shirt over my head. Definitely a struggle for me sometimes, especially if I have to change my outfit really quickly. Thanks for sharing Whitney! <3

Hello Jaxs: As a newbie naturalista I love these. So many of my problems solved in one video. Thanks so much for sharing.

Precious Lafleur: Thanks to you Naptural my daughters scarves finally stays on their heads at night. My husband and the family went sightseeing in Boston yesterday. we ate at Sal's Pizza. It was the best! We are New Yorkers so that says a lot! Stay Blessed!

michael50694: I always use the bobby pin the twist method for stretching and the perm rods to keep the ends straight and they work great. The shower mirror works great for me to.

theletterafterj: The scarf hack for getting dressed is AMAZING. I use that all the time now to avoid getting makeup on my clothes like you said. Thanks!

snick06: 2:45 I literally laughed so loud at that one cause that's me every time I wash my hair, literally playing catch me if you can with my hair before it goes down the drain. Not to mention watching you style out in your secured flexi rod set was hecka funny. These were all really useful though.

Nycole McDougal: Great video! My favorite personal hair hack is to Saran wrap the sink when I detangle outside the shower; it makes clean up a breeze.

Ebb Will: Whitney!!!!!!!! Back at it again with the life saving hacks.... Girl for years I have been damaging white tees and stretching them all the way out due to makeup or trying to avoid getting makeup on them... And BOOM... Something so simple just saved my wardrobe luv yah girl

H I D D N B E A U T I E: Love the benefits of this video and I learned alot! Thank you girl... They do sell those hair ties at the Dollar Tree 5 for 1$ and they have a variety of colors in case someone is interested and cant find the ribbon to do it themselves.

D Hill: Great hacks Wit!! I've been doing that last one for more than 15 years now. Works every time ;-)

Alicia Cadet: Yess these hacks is something that I highly appreciate. I need the hair catcher and shower mirror because I'm tired of having the sink clogged up because of my shed hair and I don't feel like collecting shed hair out of the shower either. Can I say that your twists out is the bomb?! I really need to start stretching my hair because twist outs on streatched hair looks so good. Tfs!

Lee Lee: GIRL!!!! Let me tell you that my scarf was literally hanging on the front of my head when I got to the scarf hack. Honey I sat right up in bed and re-tied my scarf. after pulling on it all day (I'm sick in bed watching videos) I have come to your fix! Thank you so much!!!!

hi: if you want to make a normal mirror fogless, wipe it down with any hand soap

Jazmin Jordan: I might need a shower mirror, and I really need a hair stopper. Great hacks, Whitney! I do some of them, and others I didn't know about.

itsniquenique45: That last one is pure gold. Do you hear me, PURE GOLD!!

M U: Omg, hack #13 has officially just changed my life!! My satin scarf ALWAYS fell off my head overnight. No longer! Thanks :-)

belleandchic1: Awesome video. Love the hack about the shower mirror and the tip to tie the flexi rod ends.

JustC: Great video. I learned the stretch and bobby pin your twists around your head from you awhile back and have been doing that ever since. It really makes a difference! Loving your hair in this video. Tfs.

ItsMaryMerz: Yesss! I love these hacks, definitely trying them out!

Lexi Lomax: Awesome tips Whitney! Thanks :) btw your hair looks beautiful! Growing nicely ;)

Rachel Remy: Love your vids!!! Can you do one in frizzy ends? I've been natural since 2010 and my ends are always rough/frizzy. I used to think it was split ends and would cut an inch or more off but they are not split. The rest of my hair will be smooth but the ends look frayed. It makes twist/braid outs impossible and wash and his aren't a possibility. Pretty plz help

kenyalank: perfect!!! I do a lot of these! One more hack!! Make your own puff and fro headbands by cutting the legs from a cheap pair of sheer stockings. The stretch and hold is awesome, it will always fit your head, you can adjust the size of the head band to make it look wide or thin, and you don't have to worry about it being too tight/uncomfortable and getting "headband headache" from wearing it all day, and to hid the ends just tuck them under the stocking wrapped around your head..

Zoe Rae: Love Love! so Helpful! I'm a Newbie to the Natural Community and this is a Life Saver!

SHAYTHAALIEN👾👽: hey Whitney I've been watching you for years now I graduated from high school and I remember watching your videos when I was 14 years old imagine that timeline LOL anyway thank you so much you've been so helpful with these videos over the years and baby Olivia is so beautiful what a beautiful family God bless Jasmine

Jhan: I've used that bonnet over the face trick to avoid getting make-up on my light colored clothes! Love it!

Joy: These hacks give me so much life! Following your channel and your DIYs have saved me so much time and not to mention money! Thank you for another great video!

Casey Mae: What's your experience with deep conditioning over night? I've read on many sites that deep conditioning is a big NO. I heard that is loosens your curl pattern due to elasticity loss, gives you high porosity hair, & damages the protein bonds weakening your hair. Of course everyone's hair is different so I just wanna hear how it works for yoy

Breane Nicholle: Although I already do a few of these, I still found a lot of your tips to be helpful.

IamStepfany: Your hair looks sooo good Whit! Great hacks by the way I use most of them lol...#reminders ❤
