All right welcome back you guys it is national hair day and the celebration continues this morning on wfaa daybreak. We are back in the building. We got a celebrity uh in the building with us whitney edie. Thank you so much for joining us. Thank you. So much for having me known as the growth guru you're here, to give us some tips on natural hair care on national hair day. What'S the number one tip tip, rather, you feel like people need to know about natural hair care. It'S not that your hair is not growing so much because a lot of people think sometimes the natural hair is not growing. It'S always growing. It'S just retention, really matters so so folks, transitioning from natural to relaxed. That can be a journey. What advice do you have for them? The number one thing you need to know is patience, patience, patience, patience, it's definitely a journey, so you want to get to know your texture as it grows in provide it with a lot of moisture. So you can retain those precious strands that are growing and speaking of moisture, i'm getting to that. Okay for us natural hair girls. That can be a problem, especially with the different types of curl patterns. What'S your advice when it comes to moisture and how much of that is necessary, believe it or not, hydration is really the reason why a lot of people find dryness. You need to hydrate before you moisturize, so you want to add a leave-in conditioner, lighter oils things that your hair can really um things that can really penetrate your strands and really provide nourishment to your stress or crucial before you moisturize now i know we didn't bring It here this morning, but you have your own product line right and you talk about moisture and hair growth and things like that and you guys have something that can actually quote unquote. Jump start some hair growth yeah. So that's why i actually created juices and botanics. The product line - and it is crucial that you add hydration first before you moisturize, so that's the process of water-based products that deliver nutrients like your soft proteins and things of that nature, to really strengthen the hair and then you moisturize. So the product line is centered around that natural hair can be very time consuming. Give folks some tips for sticking with it patience remember it is a journey and the day you start the journey is not the end of the journey. So just give yourself some time get to know your hair get to know what products your hair likes. You'Ve been a stylist before you're. Basically a mogul at this point. So tell folks what role does a stylist play in all of this, because we want to make sure they can take care of their hair at home? But what role does a stylist play? I look at stylus as like kind of like boot camp instructors or like doctors, it's going to be the patient's. You know. Responsibility is as well as the doctor's responsibilities, so you really want to work hand in hand with your stylist to kind of co-create along your journey, whitney the growth guru. Thank guru, thank you for joining us here this morning.
