Is what's good, y'all welcome back to your girls channel, it's your girl, crystal aka curly! Chris. Thank you for tuning in to today's video. Today we are going to be reviewing the new african black soap by melanin hair care. This bad boy recently dropped maybe about like a few weeks ago, and i wasn't able to pick it up on the first drop. So when she got to alta, i said all right, another plan. Let me go ahead and cop this, so i went ahead and copped the african black soap reviving shampoo okay before we're going to get into the details of this entire video and this product. If you are not already part of the curly crisp fam, i don't need to do one thing for you, girl and that is to smash that button down below okay smash that button down below go ahead and hit. It join the curly chris fam because we need you here period. Okay, stop playing games, join the fam, so natural 85 whitney she dropped the entire melon and haircare line, which consisted of a cream then a leave-in, conditioner and oil, and now the black soap shampoo. She is known for her diy black soap shampoo, so it makes sense for her to drop this product. Okay, so that's we're going to be reviewing today. As far as me, using black soap, i have never done that before, like i've never used black on my hair, or at least not to my knowledge, so i'm pretty excited to try this out um. I will talk more in depth about the products and everything once we are in the shower, but just to give a little quick preview. This has revitalizing tea trees, soothing turmeric and black cumin seed. Oh so it seems like it's going to tingle the scalp a little bit when i got it. This is how it came like you can see that it's not all the way full, which i mean it's not that big of a deal, because it's like a really big bottle, but i'm not sure if it's like missing some or not. But this is how i got mine, and this product has no sulfates, no parabens, no silicones, no mineral oil. No! For phthalates, no formaldehyde black soap is not an ingredient. Black soap is a combination of things, as miss whitney said in one of her videos where she got you all together. Okay, she corrected y'all cuz y'all coming for her apparently saying that it was a scam because it didn't have black soap in the ingredients list. So i'm gon na go ahead and let her get y'all together, real quick because don't come for whitney, come for your mama speak on it period all right, so one thing about black soap. Apparently it is not supposed to leave you with a super soft feeling. It is more of a cleansing shampoo, so i'm going to go into this wash with that in mind, um. That is not going to leave my hair super soft. You already know that i am a fan of super soft shampoos like i do not like anything like stripping or anything. However, on here it does say that this rich shampoo is designed to cleanse your hair and scalp without stripping away your beneficial natural oils, so that you're left with hydrated bouncy and defined healthy hair. Okay. So since she said it, ain't gon na strip game on game on, let's go ahead and hop in the shower and we're gon na see what all this thing working with. Okay, all right, so my hair is very, very wet um. So now we're going to go in with the shampoo now the nozzle on this is really really cool. It'S a spin off nozzle and then you have the direct applicator right here and i think that's really really cool so like you can get directly onto your scalp and then put this back on. So no air gets into the product or anything um to preserve its freshness, and then it says on wet hair, apply it to the scalp and work into a lather. After massaging the shampoo onto your scalp drag on down to the rest of your head, i think i think i should shake it up first, because i don't know, i just feel like it got a lot of stuff in it at the bottom. Now i need to shake up all right. Let me show you guys the texture all right, so i'm gon na still apply it directly to my scalp and i'm going to start with that a little bit and then yo. It smells very, very much so like tea tree and as far as the tingle, i don't feel the tingle right now it may come later. It feels very smooth, though, like this thing feels smooth as of right now y'all. Oh, i do feel a little bit of freshness coming along. It really does feel like a really good shampoo, like it feels like my hair is getting very very cleansed like it does not strip or anything, and i could tell that a little bit of this would go a good amount of weight. But to say this is a: was it a 16 ounce container yeah 16.1 fluid ounce? That'S a lot of shampoo. Like that's a lot and the price point on that i paid. I think it was thirty dollars, for it was twenty dollars for the product and then ten dollars to get here. So for a shampoo, that's pretty expensive, but you also get 16 ounces. But once again it's kind of expensive for shampoo um. But i guess for the size of it, you will use it for a long way like it's good for 12 months and i'm pretty sure you'll have it all those 12 months? Okay, because you ain't gon na use this up that fast all right. So this section is clean and it feels nice, like my hair, feels nice not even lying y'all like it does not feel drying or anything. It feels very, very smooth like i like it, so let's rinse this section out all right rinsing it out. This is what my strands look like immediately after i rinsed everything out. They look really really good right now. It does not feel as moisturizing i'm not even gon na lie. It does feel a little stripped okay about, i would say, about 60 strip, comparing to like the worst shirt feeling i would say about 60. It'S not y'all gon na be like girl. What'S up with you in 60, i don't know, but i just feel like that person. This describes it perfectly like it's not all the way strip, but it's not soft. It'S not like completely soft either. My hair does feel like it's been shampooed with a i don't. Wan na say a clarifying shampoo, but like a cleansing shampoo, but it's not like the worst strip feeling ever. It feels clean and i've had way worse strip feelings. Trust me, okay, like this, does not feel bad at all. It feels good, and it says all natural shampoo like good job it doesn't it's not bad at all. It feels good now now whitney said that you can go in with the multi-use softening leave-in conditioner to use as a conditioner on your hair, and i was like i don't know about that. But we'll go ahead and try that as well real quick just to see how it works and i'm just using one section because okay, so i did go ahead and with the section again just to make sure it's drenched in water. And this is how much leave-in conditioner i got now. Let'S now you already know, i really do like this leave-in conditioner. Oh, this feels really nice. I guess i've used it in this step, like with my hair, wet for a leave-in conditioner, but i've never used it right after a shampoo, but it does feel really good. Okay and that's the thing like you can really use a lot of products for multiple different things other than just what it claims to be. But i just wouldn't have used this as a conditioner, mainly because, like hey y'all, it's voice over chris. So what i'm trying to say is, i wouldn't have used this as a conditioner, because if i use it as a leave-in, do i rinse the conditioner out and then apply the exact same product, as my leave-in like i feel like. That would be very, very confusing, or do i just like condition and then leave it in my hair. You feel my drift like that's why i just can't use it as bolts. You feel me, hi, look y'all. I know my hair like soaked it up. I ain't gon na lie. It feels very moisturizing all right so that side's done now we're gon na move on to this side into the shampoo and, after the rest of it off camera all right. So here we go applying it again to our hair into the roots. I love the scalp applicator. That was a really really good addition to the product, and you know guys, like honestly, sometimes certain specs like that is what makes the product worth the extra amount of money like. If you're going to charge the extra bond for a product, then it should be like superior or like it should go above the standards of the normal of this normal competition, basically, okay. So if you're gon na have a 20 shampoo, then i'm gon na need something. That'S twenty dollars worthy from the product formulation to the whole design of the bottle like the presentation it needs to be above par. Okay, like it's, not it shouldn't be just normal, so i do feel like for her presentation and the way that the way it feels and the quality ingredients i do feel like it's worth the 20 okay. Now 40 i'd have been like sorry whitney, but i think 20 is a good price to get 16 ounces quality ingredients um a nice design of a bottle, direct applicator to your scope, um. I just think it's worth it. I do. I love how it feels when the product is in the hair. Like look at my curls y'all y'all see these curls like reviving african black soap, reviving revitalizing shampoo, look at them, curls, oh, and it's a shampoo. I don't know if my curls are already popping like this. I don't think so, but this looks so good y'all. Look how good my curls look over here. Do y'all see like how defined everything that they look. So this footage right here - i just wanted to include it because my curls look bomb and i want you guys to see like how well this shampoo did with my hair and, like the shine, the definition come on like it looks so good. So i had to include it alright. So as far as it goes for this side, i did experience very, very similar results as on this side, of course, um. The only thing i really do not like is the strip feeling that i do get. However, i am using african black soap, so it is supposed to be a cleansing type of shampoo. Now this would be a shampoo that i would probably use like once a month. I would never use this shampoo like on a weekly basis or bi-weekly only because it does have that stripping feeling to it and i most definitely get more of a cleansing vibe from this than a moisturizing vibe from this shampoo um. Overall, i really did enjoy this shampoo. I think whitney did an amazing job with the formulation, the design, the entire product, the ingredients, the smell, the natural, the naturalness of it like. I just think it's a really really good product, and the only thing is like on the back of the bottle. It does say that it doesn't strip. However, it does strip that's. The only thing that i will have to disagree with is that it most definitely does strip a little bit, not the worst strip feeling, but it does not leave your hair feeling soft um. It did leave my hair feeling stripped. So that's the only thing that i would say about it as a con overall, i would give it like a 9.5 out of 10 just because of that one kind, but y'all like this shampoo is really really good. Now will i use this entire thing? In 12 months now, that's a big no like i could have used the 8 ounce size of this and still use that in 12 months. I know i'm not going to be able to use this entire bottle, but if you have like a whole family, then yeah y'all could probably all use this up in 12 months. But just for me i know i won't um, but i love everything about the shampoo. The specs the different designs, it's so cute, the colors like, i think it's just a really nice shampoo, like if i was at everest mountain lion. I love the like how in sync everything is you know, so i love it, but thank you guys so much for coming to my ted talk. No i'm just kidding. Thank you guys so much for watching today's video. If you did enjoy today's video, give me a thumbs up and also, let me know in the comment section down below also let your girl know if you've tried any of the browning hair care products, but also this african black soap. And if you have, what do you think? What are your thoughts go ahead and chat with me down below, and i'm gon na see you guys in my next video, oh yeah, and smash that button down below. If you have not already peace,

Hali M: I don't think the shampoo is expensive. You get 16oz. A lot of these companies charge you close to that and you get half.

Beyond Blair: I love this shampoo! With my low porosity hair I love the feeling of my hair being cleansed so my products can soak in love the video!!

Marcials Blends Hair: Now that it's at ulta you get it for under 20. Honestly, for a product of this quality and caliber, any other big company would be charging 30 to 40 dollars for a 12oz bottle.

candaces2449: I love the shampoo. It has become my fav out of all of her products. I'm in the minority and have used it every week since I got it. I prepoo beforehand. It gets my hair CLEAN CLEAN. I use it because it allows deep conditioners to perform their best. I think that since shampoos are so moisturizing now they don't really allow DCs to perform their best. This is definitely a staple in my regimen.

BandaQueen Love: You're review was so honest and amazing and i love your personality! Also, I thought I was the only person who doubts how they use certain hair products lool I was really asking the same thing with the leave-in conditioner <3 I've tried the twisting cream and the leave-in together for twist outs and, at first, I didn't like it but then I saw that my hair was still moisturized after 3 weeks and I was shook (I didn't even moisturize between oops). I'm using the shampoo for the first time on my upcoming wash day and I'm also using the leave-in as a rinse-out conditioner for the first time. I usually skip the conditioning step after shampooing rather I go straight to deep conditioning but Whitney said that the shampoo and the conditioners are a great comb and plus it's stripping so I'm gonna need mega moisture. Loved this review and I definitely won't finish that shampoo either. idk why I wrote a paragraph lol

Kayla Holmes: Your moisturized, healthy hair is giving me life!! I've tried the shampoo and I love it. Personally I like the strip feeling of shampoos so I didn't mind it. It definitely left my hair looking good! When it comes to the leave-in I use it as a deep conditioner and don't rinse it out to use it as a leave-in. And I love the packaging and natural ingredients in the product. To me this shampoo looks like mystical dark brown sugar

Kim Perry: I was waiting on your review. I love her products. I actually prepoo before I use the shampoo. It works great. Also, I only wash my hair once with this product. Thanks

Imani Samone: Yesss, I feel you on the lowkey being confused about it being multi-use as far as being able to leave it in and as conditioner/deep conditioner. I ended up leaving mine in after deep conditioning and didn’t like it. I feel like if I had rinsed it out then applied a bit more directly after it would’ve been better.

Lady L. Phantumhive: I haven’t tried her shampoo yet, but I am a big black soap using. That is my go-to cleanser when washing my hair. I tend to do 2-3 washes to make sure my hair is fully clean (sebum). Your hair will feel much softer after the second rinse, the first rinse makes it feel a bit crunchy. Also I have found that I can easily detangle my hair during the second wash. Thank you for addressing what Whitney said to the naysayers. I find that so many people are uneducated about how black soap works and they are quick to be controversial for the sake of being messy, not realizing that it’s their ignorance that’s the problem and not the shampoo.

Chrissy Got The Coils: I love that her bottles are see through

Rita Cunningham: I completely agree when you said you said you’d like an 8oz option. My mom and I share hair stuff but we won’t use 16 oz in year, especially because it’s a more of a stripping shampoo. I wrote on else’s video that this is a great reset shampoo so this would be my one of last option shampoos, when nothing else works to remove build-up aka the big guns.

YouTube User: Thank you Curly Crys for this review! I know it's kind of old, but ... I've been using Melanin products since they came out and I agree with almost everything you said. However, the shampoo does not last me very long at all. I like to wash my hair frequently - once every one to two weeks. My hair is super dense and long, so the shampoo does not last long. It gives me that squeaky clean feeling, too, but I like that because it enhances the benefits/properties of the leave-in conditioner. The shampoo and the leave-in really complement one another. I understood what you were saying, but I don't rinse the leave-in conditioner out. I don't see the need for the extra step, although I can see where it could work to rinse it out and then reapply it as a leave-in. I guess the water could rehydrate and help re-define the hair? I just don't have money like that!

S Maxwell: Thank you Crys for this review .. I’m definitely going to try this as well as her other products .. I may follow up with my As I Am co-wash

EAUSO SUPER: I just purchased this shampoo last night and used it with a deep conditioner…LOOOOOOVE!!! It def allows the deep conditioner to work its magic on my LOW porosity hair. My hair was extremely moisturized and shiny.

EAUSO SUPER: I just purchased this shampoo last night and used it with a deep conditioner…LOOOOOOVE!!! It def allows the deep conditioner to work its magic on my LOW porosity hair. My hair was extremely moisturized and shiny.

Sharvell Williams: I love the line. One of the ways to use the leave in is a leave in deep conditioner. And thats how i use it. I refuse to rinse it out

Quelsplace: I absolutely LOVE this shampoo and the conditioner and the Multi-Use Oil (I use it on my body also)! I used to not be a 'every shampoo clarifying shampoo' person but this shampoo has changed my mind. My products do so much better after I use this shampoo AND the definition I get in the shower after all the buildup is gone is amazing! My roots lay much flatter when I use this shampoo. Plus the shine I get - chef's !

Tori Thomas: I love both of you guys Also I would’ve left the conditioner in, it looks amazing !

ARETHA REYNOLDS: I have been using this shampoo once a week for 5 weeks. My hair loves it. After shampooing, my hair is squeaky clean and super soft and hydrated. I have all her products. (In fact, just bought the entire product line as a gift for my daughter.) My favorite is the conditioner followed by the shampoo and oil (equally). The style cream is my least favorite simply because I have fine natural hair and it feels heavy on my hair. I use it sparingly as a result.

Fortunada Hope: Yes sis I just mine from ULTA two days ago!! I’ve used the leave in and curling cream from Melanin before but when I saw it on ULTA online yes I ordered all 3! Restock on the leave in conditioner and curling creamnotificationnaturalhair

Tinaluvsdc: This was an awesome review,! All of the Melanin Hair Care Products I’ve tried so far have been superior to many others I’ve tried. I placed my order with Ulta since the Melanin Hair Care site sold out so quickly, and I CANNOT WAIT to try this shampoo!

Rhaven Cheadle: Great review Sis! I’d love to see you do a wash and style video with the whole line!

Phelice Brown: Actually her price is pretty comparable. If you were to order 16 ounces of Alikay Naturals Black Soap shampoo it would cost 20.99 plus shipping unless you order a specific dollar amount of products to get free shipping. However, as you mentioned if you live near an Ulta Beauty store, just go to the store and get the product and save the cost of shipping. Shipping is just a cost of ordering products. I order my hair products all the time. I just get a friend or a family member to order the same time I do and split the cost. Typically we don't pay shipping and we can get another product, because lets face it shipping can sometimes pay for another product.

Dani Lacy: For myself, as far as the conditioner goes, I wash my hair out the conditioner in my hair, I put a hit cap on, or shower cap on to deep condition, and when I go to rinse it off, I basically only rinse of the residue and leave majority of it on my hair as a leave in and style like normal. So for me, I believe that’s me using it as a deep conditioner, leave in, and I also use it to refresh my curls. So I love love love the conditioner.

Felicia Aldridge: I loooove Melaninhaircare products! I haven’t gotten the shampoo yet but do plan to try it!

Just Ebbs: I “thought” I was going to go buy it yesterday at the store, but when I finally got out of the house my car said no Sis. Hopefully I can grab some tomorrow when my car is ready. I don’t wanna pay shipping ‍♀️

Katrina Lisa: Great video girl like always. ❣ yes I've used the oil and hair cream. Will buy the oil again. But not the cream. Not the leave in or shampoo. I love using the black Jamaica castle oil shampoo from shea moisture. Does me good. ❣

Felisa Tummings: I bought the leave-in and styling cream a few months ago...what I wasn't happy with was the shipping cost , but the products were nice when I used them together. I think this is a line that's formulated to be used as a set. The shampoo I have yet to buy because I make my own. So I just enjoy the reviews for now. Thank you for sharing, and I'm glad she corrected the crowd on the reason behind the black soap "ingredient". You already know I appreciate your reviews! #TwistOutGangGangGanggg

Judi S: I’ve tried the leave in, oil and twisting butter. The leave in and oil work pretty well for my hair but the butter was a no for my low porosity hair. It sits on my hair. I’m not sure if I’ll try the shampoo, at least not now. Maybe sometime in the future. Thx for your honest review.

Carol Harper: I follow Natural 85. Excited to try her products. Your hair looks very moisturized. Thank you for this review. Love and Light.♥️♥️♥️

YouTube User: I can't wait to try this, but it's always sold out on the official website. I'm with you Crys, I like co-washes, soft hair. But I think a really clean feeling would be nice, as long as it does not strip and make it hard to detangle. I think you used too much, especially on the first section. It looks like a little goes a long way. I love the twist on caps on her products because I'm always knocking things over, but no spills or waste with a twist on cap that doesn't pop off when I knock it over.

Monique Royster: This stuff is the bomb!!! That condition OMG!!! You will not be disappointed!!!!!!!!

AC McGowan: It removed the buildup that was sitting on your hair. Excellent product. You have absolutely beautiful hair.

CLew50: I got my and plan to use it this weekend! Great review!

Angela Lee: I’ve used this shampoo 3 times now. The first time I was like nope. I deep conditioned twice after to get my hair moisturized. I had never used African Black before. The 2nd time I used it to clean my scalp, letting the Lather work its way down. Then I used her conditioner as a washout, deep conditioner, then her conditioner as a leave-in (which what I usually use) her cream and oil. 3rd time I used it with different products and it worked well, now that I know what African Black Shampoo is supposed to do. Also the 2nd and 3 time I had a lot of built up on my scalp and hair.

Angel McKnight: Great review. I think I’ll try it. But I don’t believe $10 is a good shipping price. It’s more than half the cost of the product.

Markita | Harden Home: I agree! The Shampoo isn't my favorite. I'm gonna write her and ask that she develop a less stripping shampoo for the rest of us.

taylor terry: Hey sis!!! I loved the review! I really want to try the leave in and oil because I still haven’t tried it! This is not related to the video but what is your favorite moisturizing shampoo? I have yet to find a shampoo that doesn’t strip my hair, the ones I have recently tried are..(carols daughter wash day delight, aunt Jackie’s oh so clean, and tresseme’ botanique shampoo). Help me sis!

Brown & Confident: Yassss I can’t wait to try this !

Jennell: I don’t like the shampoo lol I used it once and it was very stripping I’ll probably use if I have buildup but I looooove their leave in & styling cream (UPDATE: I like it now used it a few more times and by the 3rd time my hair started to feel soft instead of stripped)

Daliz Rivas: I would love to try these products but my hair dislikes glycerin!

NaturallyZandra: I actually liked this shampoo as well.

Neosoul_prima: I do wanna correct something that Felicia Letherwood did for me. The natural oils that shampoos claim to not strip, is at the scalp and not the strands! Overall Yasssss sis!!! Now all we gotta do is try that naptural85 flat twist out method lol.

WLHMC ALLNATURAL: New subbie here, lm seeing this shampoo around YouTube these days, smash the button down below, the sound is funny , l used African soap before l really love it

Rhian. Anise: OML that lighting is crazy all that melanin is shiny too bright for me

Re Fi: Ill stick to my 2.99 suave smoothing shampoo detangles and doesn't strip the hair. 30 dollars OMG

CurlyCurlDream: Your hair was so shiny and beautiful! Goals! Also what is your email?

God’s Precious: Now, you going to make me try it

Fuller Wms.Evans: Guys everybody hair is different. I have followed Naptula85 since 2011. I have tried all her DIY's. I will support her, she is black owed that is reason enough for me to support her. The products that I buy from her and other black owed, if the products does not work for my hair, I give them away to the next natural person in my circle.

All About Shoes: How does it smell? I love a good smelly shampoo and conditioner

Angela Lee: Her products are in Ulta now, no more $10 shipping.

tavia2685: Girl I’m poor I haven’t try any of them too many doctors bills but I’m glad u liked it

layah222: she never misses

I Do(YES): Melanin haircare email sent me here again!

Marcials Blends Hair: I love the line. I give it as a gift.

Quelsplace: 'don't come for Whitney, come for your momma'

Shante Hale: Your hair was popping girl.

Ariel Haynes: Fam I don't know what you did to the lighting in the intro to the product but ya glowing :D

Latanya China Rhodes: What you mean if you ever came out with a line??? Oh you coming out wit your own line I know it

Effy: And she in ulta now so that cuts the extra cost

JaiProdz: You are so beautiful omg

Leila♡: ❤❤

Kyla Allen: periodtt sis I'm back again

Soleil: Skin...poppin

Myrna J: CrysGang!!!‍♀️

Ali B: That lather is no joke!

Areanah_J: im late but you should do a video of styling your with only 5 dollars and you cants use any thing from your house just five dollars to style your

Marcials Blends Hair: I believe the shampoo is a chelating shampoo.(correction, clarifying not chelating)It works so wonderfully. As a deep conditioner it is a miracle for most textures.

Likiareya Jackson: So
