Why your ENDS have a different texture than the rest of your hair | NATURAL HAIR - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3HAAfw...

Have you ever noticed that one side of your hair isn't keeping up with the other side, or your back middle section is always dry and rough and makes kind of like a dent in the back of your head? I noticed this with my hair, a while back on the right side. It took me almost a year to figure out that it was from my sleeping position over time. I found the best solution is to put my hair up in a pineapple. Most of the time. Wear satin scarf and sleep on a silk or satin pillowcase when you wear your hair down to bed, you're practically laying on your ends and causing friction. A pineapple is a great solution because it positions your ends up and away from rubbing on anything. While you sleep, try using both a satin scarf and a silk pillowcase for a week and notice a difference in your hair and skin, i'm also obsessed with humidifiers, because they help a lot to keep your hair and skin moisturized. While you sleep,

Tee-Ahh-na: I’m loving your shorts. Is it normal to have moisturize your hair everyday. My hair gets dry by night. I would moisturizer in the morning and by evening it’s a lil stiff

grimlock smash: I would suggest silk pillowcase, even if it's mulberry silk, over a satin pillowcase because it keeps you cooler so you are less prone to sweat at night. Usually I like being warm, but when I used my satin pillowcase and I was a little too warm at night, my face/head would end up sweating more. Also, if you have oily skin, do yourself a favor and wash your pillowcase at least once a week. Really. You will likely see the oil more easily on a silk pillowcase as dark spots and may want to wash more frequently than that :)

Trademark Moxie: The pineapple life is not for me. If I put my hair up like that it will remain sticking up like that for the rest of the day once the scarf is removed. Pillow case change is, however, doable.

Tia Cross: My mom is a beautician and she has always told me about sleeping on one side making your hair thinner or grow slower on that side. One of her clients recently was complaining about her hair being longer on one side and the shorter side happened to be the side she sleeps on. She said she can’t sleep on the other side lol. I don’t have this problem with my hair anymore like when I was a teenager but it’s likely because I move around a lot in my sleep switching from left to right. I just sleep whichever way is comfortable lol.

Denise Oates: Mmmm, I do tie my hair up every night and also sleep on a silk pillow case but I did not realize that I should pull my hair up to the top of the head but it makes sense.

CurlyNella1011: Is that also the reason why we all have one side thinner than the other because we sleep on one side majority of the time and the friction eventually breaks the hair. But then again satin or silk shouldn’t be causing friction no matter if your hair is up or down

YAHdassah: Your visual aids x your teaching style is stellar. Thank you

Nijmegenares: Please help me understand my hair: the left side has lost it's curls, the right still has it, it's curly and bounces. The left looks longer because of that. Than on the top of my head/back I have more afro hair and almost no curls and its really dry. I have no idea how to fix this, anyone any tips, ideas? If so, please let me know!

Kaboom sihal: It... took you a solid year to think "maybe I sleep on it"? That's literally the first most obvious option
