Developing an Afro-hair centered hair care routine requires thinking outside the societal norms.

Quick story time I miscalculated my wash day, math and didn't factor in protein treatment drying time. I was supposed to wake up at seven, but I woke up at 10. the way I dashed out my bed to start my hair yamp he's still in my eye and all talk about pressure update on my clarifying cleansing bar the first time I used the bar Was December 3rd 2022.. It'S now February. 4. 2023. These last two months, my scalp has been so chill because I have low sebum. My scalp can dehydrate very quickly and start to itch, but that really hasn't happened at all and I'm really happy about that. The little piece lasts long too so far, I've used it twice and I still have enough for at least one more full wash day. I made eight pieces and I'll probably only use three this year. My only gripe is that it's so slippery, maybe because it's a small piece, but I dropped this soap about five times in five minutes, so I know you wouldn't make it in jail using this at all. I call this a clarifying cleansing, Barbie cause. That is what it does. It completely cleans the hair of all residue product and dirt, but is this different from a shampoo people tend to use the term shampoo for anything that cleans the hair? But traditionally a shampoo must contain some type of sulfate, as the surfactant sulfates have proven to increase. Dehydration in afro hair, so we often limit their use. Shampoo was created for straight hair. That is often highly coated with sebum, because afro hair has less sebum coating the strands using a gentler, yet effective form of cleansing is necessary. A natural, shampoo or clarifying cleanser is a type of Castile soap. They are Olive, oil-based non-drying, effective cleansers. I'Ve been seeing more stylists claim that shampoo is the source of hydration, but what do they mean by shampoo being specific about the terms used to identify products that are specifically beneficial to afro? Hair care is necessary. We have different options on how to effectively clean our hair. That'S not limited to just shampoo from soap nut to ayurvedic curves. They are all effective at cleaning afro hair. So what do you do when stylists only push the use of shampoo for cleansing?

Tai-chan: I'm really looking into the "shampoo" process. I'm glad you brought it up. A cleansing bar, clay and even methods have proven to be quite effective. The marrons of old days on my island have beautiful black wooly hair and new nothing about shampooing. I agree with you 100%

Gratitude: I hope you truly heal and that things get better for you. You can’t give the best to anyone unless you are at your best. The day you decide( if) to start selling your hair products is the day I will stock up ! Love your videos and has taught me so much!

aniekaskaf: Wellllll... I don't have a stylist sooooo.... Amma reach for various cleansers... Ayurveda, commercial shampoo, clay wash etc etc... As long as my scalp is clean and it is sulfate and paraben free, i'm going to use it. Honestly, there are too much rules and contradictions in the natural hair community for me, confusing my poor brain... so amma sit back and do the best i can for MY HAIR... There is always big chop if i fail LOL

Pauline Shiweda: Hi, did you make your shampoo bar with lye? I used to make those for myself but when people started talking about the importance of using products that have a pH suitable for our scalp and hair I stopped making them as mine would be a little more alkaline. I miss the lather my shampoo bars would give

aniekaskaf: As a side note, send me 3 of the bars.... i won't be greedy and tell you to send me all 5 lol
