Hello and welcome to my channel, my name is Ian Chua and I've had my natural hair since 2017. So it's been about five six years since I went natural I've gotten to a point where I'm bored I want to be able to not think about going through a lot of steps, I'm just ready to get my hair relaxed and have hair that I can manage More easily, based on current Shadow and where I'm at this point in my life, one of the things that is carrying me about getting my hair relaxed is the fact that my hair is going to be very small. That definitely scares me a lot so I'll talk to the stylist when I get there. My Uber is here foreign. The first thing I did was talk to the hairstylist about my concerns, my fear on my hair. I needed to make sure that this process wasn't going to burn, like the only thing that was going to make me get up and leave was. If he had told me that my scalp is going to burn. He did assure me that it wasn't going to bend. Shout out to Samson who was my stylist: he was very patient. He pretty much worked me through every single step as though he was teaching a class which was very nice and very comforting for me now to the steps, if you thought the natural hair procedure had a lot of steps. Oh, my God, you don't know when we go to like step number, six, seven, eight and he was still going. I was like what anyway, let me take you through the steps he took me through. So when I got there, he checked my hair checked the hair type. Then he divided my hair into four sections and he applied a base to protect my scarp from the burn of the relaxer. But after he was done with that, he said he was going to start applying the relaxer to the most resistant part of my hair, which she said he found from just touching my hair. So basically, the most resistant part of your hair is pretty much the toughest part of your hair. I believe the part that needs a little bit more time to process, so he started with mine, which is the center of my hair, and then he applied the product. All through my hair, he did mention that he was avoiding my scalp, so he started applying from about an inch above my scalp, and then he left the ends as well for later on. So at this point, she's applying the product to my entire head, but he's leaving out about an inch of my hair from my scalp and he's leaving at the end of my hair, so he's just hitting the mid part of my hair. At this point, then, when he's done with my entire head, he tells me that there's going to be a second application. Excuse me, second, what so yeah it was the second application for the second application. He did get the ends of my hair, as well as the tiny bit of hair he left before the scalp, so he's using a brush at this point, because I did mention that I wanted to retain a little bit of texture in my hair and so he's Not combing out the hair he's being gentle with handling my hair, because we are trying to retain some texture in my hair. My also trying to maintain my hair health and he's brushing all the way to the end, using his hand to gently massage it during the process. He told me that we're going to wash out the relaxer in 20 minutes and up until that point there was no Bend. There was no itchy and comfortable sensation in my scalp. Nothing at all. So at this point I'm like wait. So does this mean that all the times I relaxed my hair, when I was growing up, they were doing it wrong, but he also did say that if you have moisture in your hair, while you are relaxing it, then there may be some pain or discomfort. Then once the 20 minutes were up, it was time to wash out the relaxer from my head. So we go to the sink and then he starts washing out the product. He washed out the entire product out and he recommended that I get a treatment, a bond treatment and the bone treatment was basically supposed to bring back the bonds that relaxer broke in my hair, something along that line. So it's like. I wasn't part of the initial budget, but fine. If it's going to hold my hair. Let'S do it so we started out with the bone treatment, which is like a two-step treatment. He puts something in my hair. Sorry I didn't ask he mentioned it, I'm sure, but I forgot to note it down put that in my hair. Let it sit for 10 minutes and then he put the second treatment solution thing in my hair. In addition to that, one - and that also sat for 10 minutes - and it was time to wash my hair - he washed out the treatment out of my hair. And then he washed my hair with a shampoo, and he mentioned that if your shampoo looks pink while you're washing out your hair after I relax, I miss that there's still some product in your hair and you need to wash it a little bit more in order To get rid of all the products you wash that out add another round of shampoo and then once it was white, we're ready to condition my hair. So he added a conditional finger, combed, my hair, and then he wraps this towel gently and very nicely around my hair. Then we went back back to my seat and then we detangled and blow dried my hair. I way he plugged the blow dryer. The only thing I could think of is, oh, my God heat heat, because I think everybody with natural, 4C hair or any form of natural hair has been primed to think that heat is bad for your hair. So I I'm like. Can we skip the heat part? Adding to our limos in my head, but of course we couldn't, because I would rather get a blow dry than sit in this, so he blow dried, my hair combed it out. I think you straightened the at this point and then he said that my hair was uneven, which is mainly my fault, because when I was natural, I used to train my Split Ends by myself: no method to it, I'll just stream trim trim. So after he had straightened the hair and everything was laying flat, you can see that disparities between the length and we needed to make the length even trimmed. My hair shout out enough for getting the back of my head she's, also one of the stylists in the salon very sweet lady as well, so she got the footage for the back of my head. As you can see, I could have done that by myself, so she did that and I felt like that was a lot of hair, but I don't mind because cut my hair multiple times and I don't care, I will grow back if it doesn't grow back the Ways to have the longer hair look without having naturally long hair yeah. So after he was done, he styled it. No money. Look at this gorgeousness whoa, I was in love. I was in another world I was. I was in a world of my own. I was feeling my hair. I sat there for about four ten minutes, just looking at myself in the mirror - and there was not a tiny bit of regret, I felt free. I could run my fingers through my hair without any knots whatsoever. It was such a nice feeling,

Anita Nuo-ire: Relaxing my hair was the best thing I did 2 years ago…. I’ve been loving it

Cinnamon_Shaw: He did a good job and I love how he didn’t over process and left texture ❤❤

Eat with Edem: Awww this is beautiful , I always think those of us with soft and light 4c hair can’t relax our hair but your hair has change the narrative for me ❤

Ruth Vanderpuye: This was definitely interesting to watch! Turned out beautifully well and full

Nhyira: Write first time seeing someone actually applying relaxers as adviced. I’m impressed. And you look good too

The Style Barn: Beautiful I get my hair professionally relaxed every 2-3 months, and it’s healthy and thriving. I have no regrets.

Octavia Walker: I been natural for almost 3 years and I've been happy of the results as of today. The flip side is that my natural hair is healthy, thick and chemically untouched and I love that. The downside is that my hair gets tangled and that is the only problem I have. Trying to do better with the tangling part. I noticed with relaxed hair some years ago my hair grew, I just didn't know how to maintain the moisture. Going to the hair salon can be costly. So be ready if you get a relaxer, unless you know how to do it yourself. Relaxers weren't an issue, the tangling is an issue. I am terrified of getting a relaxer so I am going to continue to be natural.

Shavone F: Thanks for sharing the journey and knowledge. Hair turned out gorgeous

Bright Okpoh: Your hair turned out so beautiful, I love it

Es K: I enjoyed watching this. Was calming and therapeutic to watch. The hairstylist is good! I love the outcome. You look nicee

Patricia Kasenge: you looking so beautiful and vibrant with your new hair, I'm inspired because I can barely keep up with my natural hair lol

Patra: Your hair looks good and you are gorgeous as well!

Jasmine Cruz: You look beautiful! I’m thinking about relaxing my hair but I’m worried I’ll regret it.

Kwan-Yin Addai-Kyeremeh: I just relaxed my hair two days and I had burns and cuts at the end of the whole process. Luckily I didn't loose hair. But I love the outcome. I'm looking for a way to grow my hair.

S Wisdom: This was so relaxing to watch. Idk your hairdresser but I love him! I smiled throughout this video. I'm gonna relax my hair too. My hair is D E N S E and thicc. Gosh you'd have to see it to know. Regardless, I don't feel pretty with natural hair nor do I know how to comb or style it ( I related with u when u put tht gif about how ppl think styling 4c hair is haha) I've been stalling getting it relaxed (scared of burns and hairdressers starting at the root and or combing the relaxer through) but I hope it'll go well!

Erinma Onwuchekwa: We have absolutely the same hair texture. Very soft baby-like 4c hair and very thin. Not full at all and to be honest that’s the only reason I am natural too because I just feel I won’t have any hair to hold unto once I relax it.

maame asydha Obeng: It turned out beautifully

juliet simba: I know your pain. I have sparse, thin hair. When my hair was fully processed I looked bald. My ponytail was anorexic. Bigchop. I decided to texlax. Iffy business. left me with 8 different textures that were impossible to care for. Bigchop 2. When I was natural I was always trying to fix something. Dryness, tangling, breakage. it felt like a prison. Bigchop 3. Now i have an inch of natural hair. I can get any style I want not worry about matting and tangling. Color it and not worry about losing length gains.‍♀

fdrobe1: He did an excellent job! You and hair are beautiful!

Esther Asibuo: Girllll.... you're brave! ..two feats at a time > relaxing your hair then trimming your ends...wow

0tismadaline: I love the result and yes l could feel that joy on your face ❤

The Doreen Tube: It turned out sooo beautiful

Maabena Forson: It turned out really nice. Finally I’ve gotten the vim

Yesmin Osabutey: Beautiful outcome. The stylist indeed did a good job. You look lovely. I always enjoy your videos, keep them coming.

Sweet Sounds777: the hairdresser was so gentle omg! love it

Patra: I just relaxed my hair after two years of being natural. I couldn't take it no more. My natural hair was too thick to comb through and so dry no matter which overpriced natural hair products I bought. I feel like a weight has been lifted off of me I cut my hair into a bob as well I am ready to wear make up now that I can actually style my hair.

Sofia: It turned out beautiful

Bold Vibe: I relaxed my hair last two months and trust me I don't regret at alll

Nana Efua Konadu Antwi: Which relaxer did you use? Im so nervous about which relaxer to use ever since the report about relaxers with formaldehyes, etc causing cancer. Im even scared to read the ingredients on relaxers nowadays, in case a relaxer im considering buying contains those ingredients, and then i would have to continue the hunt. I've also struggled a lot with underprocessing during relaxing, so I'm hoping to get a recommendation for a new relaxer.

Mayglow: so relaxed and healhty look

Mary_Pal: I don’t know but there is this rich❤ vibes it comes with relaxing your hair

Nonye Akpunonu: This is so cute

0tismadaline: I really enjoyed this relaxer day, he was soo gentle on your hair and will definitely visit him when l come to Ghana

imreadii: I’m ready to get relaxed as well.

MaceStandRow: I want to find a stylist like this, the crown of my head is the thickest and I think that’s the same for most people but I keep seeing hairdressers starting from the bottom. I’m kind of afraid of trying to explain to a hairdresser how they should do their job without sounding like I think I know better

Ria Antwi: Beautiful❤

The Undiscovered Chef: Literally just purchased a texturizer after about 5 years and then this shows up on my TL!

Zeeboo: You look soo good❤️‍

B.D.Y: When I relaxed my hair I dryed it with rollers and It came out so much better

Jessie Anie: Can’t wait!

Francine Afenyoh: Just found you ... I enjoyed this. Nice voice too

shari han: What relaxer did you use

Sandra Oppong: This guy did great

SELF-CARE MODEL ATL: BEAUTIFUL

The Cocky Comrade: Heya. I love your room decor videos. Where do I get those CAN-paints you use?

rose niyi: Your hair looks gorgeous dear, I would love to visit the salon to relax my hair if you don't mind sharing.

Tshepiso M.: My hair texture is the same. I’m tired of being natural but ready to relax ..smh

DeeTyson: That’s a nice shop!!!

Jam Glam: I just bought one today I'm sitting in my bed trying to push myself to do it lol

Helen Lucka: Not to sound judge but you could also have gotten a silk press... relaxers are not what we think they are. A new study linked them to ovarian cancers and more... be safe out there

Crystal Dating Coach: Nice Hair treatment BUT that wasn't a Trim. He cut two inches off. Looks great!

The Undiscovered Chef: Oooooohhh! I love it!!!

L'Oreal Drayton: NICE

God's girl eso: Me too 2017 I became natural
