So this here is going to Mark the seventh year that I've been a hijabi and let's just say that it's been a journey. During this time, I've lost my hair, I've lost my edges, I've lost my confidence and it's been quite a lot, but it also has been a beautiful journey and something that I wanted to clarify in this video is that a lot of us, a lot of hijabes, Believe that the hijab is the cause of us losing our hair, losing our edges, the lack of shine that will sometimes we experience or the fact that our hair becomes brittle, and that's not true. The reason why we experience all these issues is because they don't take proper care of our hair, and so today I wanted to show you the three steps that have helped me to recover and nurse my hair, but to help make them longer, shinier, healthier and all That good stuff, something that you should never do on your hair, is to put too much pressure on it a lot of times when we do our ponytails or our buns under our hijab. We tend to put a lot of pressure because we want our hijab, especially this part, to be really smooth and really neat, and I understand because I'm guilty of this too. But the thing is by putting too much pressure on our hair, but we lose our edges. We put too much pressure on our hair at the back and that's what makes us experience damage and all of that. What I would suggest instead is to use an experience with hairstyles that are Kinder and gentler on your hair, so maybe try to do a bread. Try to do you know a messy bun so that you can still have that nice shape in the back, but it's it's gentler on your hair. The second thing you shouldn't do is to use too many emerging tools, meaning heat gel that are really really hard and dry and take a lot of effort to be moved, because, eventually, that is going to affect your hair, the health of it. The look of it and it's not going to look good, so I try to minimize how much heat I use in my hair and also the the gel. I love my edge control but for some reason that's not something that I should be using every single day. So, instead of using heat, maybe you could use rollers and you could use a protein gel that I use. But basically this gel is really really good at doing its job. It puts your hair neatly and it just smooth everything out, but it's just gentler on your hair, and I can tell that it makes a lot of difference. The third one that I want to mention today is to not brush your hair. Too often I love brushing my hair because I'm the kind of person I don't like to have my hair too much on my face, but the thing is when you use a brush every single day, maybe two to three times a day. It removes a lot of your hair and what I'd like to do instead is to use my hands my fingers as a wipe of comb, and that works great, because it's gentler on your hair. It doesn't remove any of your hair and that's something that you can do every single day and it just works. The first step that you need to follow in order to have a proper hijabi hair care routine, is to trim your hair now. I know a lot of sisters, don't really like this advice because they like to retain length and I get it. I love to have long hair and all that, but I think it's better to have hair that is healthy and that's going to grow healthier. So I would suggest you to trim your hair, maybe once to twice a month. Maybe you can go to a family member or to a salon that attend to hijabi needs with privacy, and all five pictures just sacrifice that little bit of length for health, and I promise you - your hair - is going to grow so much faster and so much healthier. The second step is to strive to at least wash your hair, maybe once or twice a week, maybe more depending on your hair type. Maybe you have curly hair straight hair, natural hair or even relaxed hair like I do, and I know that once a week is just that's the bare minimum for me during this time when I'm in the shower and I'm trying to get my hair clean. What I like to do is to make sure that I shampoo that I put a conditioner and two to three times a month. I try to do a mask that is going to add protein and nutrients in my hair, because when we don't wash our hair, we have a lot of build up and a lot of bacteria in our hair. The blood cannot circulate properly and that damages the health of our hair and the length. So that's something that I like to do at least once a week step number three is going to be styling and basically, once I wash my hair and that I've done all the treatments that it needs. What I like to do is to let it dry on its own and let it air dry, because I tried to use as least amount of heat that I can, because when I do that, I noticed that my hair grows a lot faster and it's not as Damaged and as dry as it used to be because I I like to have my hair really um flat, sometimes like I like to use a straightener, and we all know that it's not the best thing to do on a weekly basis. So I try - and I refrain from using that much heat on my hair and ever since I've been doing that. I'Ve noticed that my hair grows at least twice as much as it used to. So that's definitely a game changer for me and then what I like to do is just before it gets really really dry. I like to add my oils, I like to add my moisturizers and everything that I need to do and once in is completely dry and it has to shine and moisture. I just like to do a quick bun or I Let it Loose just so that my hair can breathe a little, because our hair are constantly under a scarf and sometimes they just want to breathe. Now it is, this part is where I give you the tips and tricks that have helped me with my hair recovery, and so the first thing that I wanted to mention is this little buttock right here and I would suggest you to even get a bonnet like This that you can just put on your hair, like so I mean, obviously I am wearing my uh hijab, but you get the look at the picture. So, basically, if I wear a bonnet like so or use a silk pillowcase to sleep on, because the thing is when we sleep on our cotton pillowcases, it tends to dry up the moisture from our hair and just keep it there. That'S why sometimes you would see some um some stains on your pillows when you remove the pillowcase and ever since I started doing this, I can tell how my hair is a lot more shinier. It has a lot more moisture to it. It'S not as dry and brittle as it used to be, because this is really something that you want to do for your hair, either this or the pillow case. The second thing that I think every hijabi should do is definitely try to change your hijab, maybe once or every two days, because when you reuse the same hijab all the time, you can experience more dandruff and more bacteria for that, because our hair is sealed under Fabric, so with the sweat with the bacteria and all that that is not very good for your hygiene and for your hair, so definitely try to change it at least every two days. Okay, if I'm being honest, I'm not doing this one, but that's one that I should definitely Implement in my hair care routine, because I know that I can make a lot of different. But when you have time and you're sitting watching a movie doing something just having some relaxed time, try and massage your scalp so that the blood circulation can really get going, and that is going to help with boosting your growth of your hair. That'S something that I'm not doing because I'm lazy, but I know that if I was doing it, I would experience more growth and that's definitely something I used to do a few years back when I was trying to grow my edges, but I can it works last, But not least would be to check your stress levels and your diet. Naturally, I'm somebody that stress a lot. I have a lot of anxiety and I don't have the best of diet. I think I've mentioned this in another video. I'Ve been trying to implement more healthier habits and I'm getting there one step at a time, but when you have a healthy diet and that you check your stress level, whether you try to be in environments that promote health and just Good Vibes and just positivity. That is definitely going to increase your chances of having hair. That is healthier because our health is directly connected to our hair and when one is imbalanced, the author is also going to be affected by it. So I really hope that these tips were helpful. Let me know in the comment section below what you think and I can't wait to catch you in the next video, inshallah, bye, I'm sure
