Nicole Dickerson: Coconut oil has a large molecular size ( this also can make it comedogenic for your skin ) that mostly sits on top of your hair. It can act like a barrier, to keep your natural oils in , but coconut oil itself doesn’t really penetrate into the hair very much. If you don’t have your own body oils in your hair to hold in I feel it can actually make your hair feel dry. Usually you can feel it in the hair even after washing it because it creates that residue coating on the hair shaft. IF you plan on highlighting or coloring your hair the residue can actually retard the lightening / coloring process. Just some things I’ve experienced.

Helena Richard 💖: It's true, but you have to do it right. So I have super crunchy hair, like it breaks off. Tried everything. Any product you can think off. Tried plain solid coconut oil and that didn't work either. But then i did it right. I worked it up, mixed it with s bit of almond oil and vit E oil, and only bathed my ends in it. Left it for 1 hour and shampood. Afterwards, my hair was soft, shiney, brilliant and moisturized. I love it!
