Hello, my beautiful curly friends, it's keziah here and i'm back with another video for you this week, I'm so excited because I believe this is such an important video and I cannot wait to share the information with you. It'S all bubbling up and I can't stop thinking about it talking about it all these things. So, thank you so much for tuning in, but before you begin, I just want to say if you are not subscribed to this channel, please go ahead and subscribe right now, because trust me you're gon na want to get all my video tutorials there. So, educational and it's all about your naturally curly hair and, of course like this video right now by giving it a big thumbs up and if you absolutely love it at the end of it, please comment below share it with a friend and pass on the education. I'M gon na give you today, alright, so for today's video and topic, what I really wanted to talk about, what is the difference between a deep conditioner, a mask and even a protein treatment now come on. There are so many products out there on the market that it is so confusing. I mean I could just buy all 14 of the products and use them for my hair and never get the results that I want, which has been the case before. If you are like me, you know we can be product junkies at times, but I love to live by bles is more and simple and minimal when it comes to my natural hair, because again it can be so overwhelming and expensive, and I found that it doesn't Have to be so, I want to break it down for you and then I'm gon na. Let you also know in this video what you need to buy and when you need to buy it. So if you're ready, let's get started alright. So first up is a deep conditioner, so I actually don't have any deep conditioners. This is quite embarrassing. I out, so I'm literally going to order some more today. The two ones I have are actually hair masks. So I'm not going to be showing any deep conditioners here, but it will recommend some that I do like, but first up is deep conditioners. Now I want to talk to you about the difference between the deep conditioner, what it is and then I will go on to the next one and do the same thing. So deep conditioners are actually meant to be used either bi-weekly or once a month and deep conditioners are actually used to rehydrate your hair, to moisturize, to bring moisture back to your hair and it's just a little bit of a thicker kind of product and substance than A regular conditioner, so this is something that you can use quite often and it's going to improve the moisture in your hair. So that is the key. When it comes to deep conditioner, deep conditioning means, moisture and deep conditioners can be paired with a steamer to really pack in the moisture to your hair. If you are deep conditioning, my biggest biggest suggestion is purchasing a steamer, a handheld one. If you can - and I do have a recommendation - I always recommend the kiri do and I have a coupon code for you. I believe you get $ 10 off, so I will put that down below. But what I love about this one is that you can refresh your hair when you need, you can add moisture and you can use it for a deep conditioner for steaming. If you don't have a steamer, you can always just put on a cap, or you know, there's other options out there and I actually did a video on different methods on how to steam your hair. So I will actually put it right here for you so that you can check it out and see the different steamy methods that you can do for your hair. So in essence, deep conditioned is gon na bring back the moisture to your hair. You can actually over do deep conditioning. You can overdo anything in life. I mean come on. We already know that you can over eat, you can over exercise, you know you can overlap and then you know you have hurting abs in the morning. So, yes, you can actually overdo deep conditioning and that's why I recommend bi-weekly to monthly rather than weekly. If you are weekly deep conditioning your hair and you find that your hair is still dry and it's on too soft and brittle and your strands of your hair feel really thin. It'S because you're doing too much deep conditioning and that's what's causing the issues with your hair so scale way back. I would even go to once a month and try that and see how your hair feels, because your hair should feel soft after deep conditioning, but it should feel stringy if, at all, your hair feels stringy. It'S either having too much moisture or not enough protein, which brings me to the next topic, which is what's the difference between a protein treatment. So the protein treatment is actually to bring protein to your hair. So our hair, our skin and our nails are all made up of protein, which is actually keratin, and when your hair is lacking in it, you would do a protein treatment. So now protein treatments are really really to bring in stronger, healthier hair, like I just mentioned before. If your hair is stringy, it could be there's too much moisture or there's not enough protein. If you're having my issue, what I recommend is starting with scaling back on the deep conditioner, and if that doesn't work, then I recommend doing a protein treatment. Protein treatments should be done once every two months or every four months. It'S not something that you need to do on a weekly basis, or rather a monthly basis, and when you do this, you want to replace your deep conditioning for that month or for that biweekly. Whatever one you're doing, you don't want to do both because, again you don't want to overdo it with our hair. There is definitely a bit of an equilibrium that needs to happen, and a balance is always really important. So now, when it comes to deep conditioning versus protein treatments, I've already talked about the difference between those two deep conditioning is moisture and protein treatment is actually for protein to your hair. Alright, so the last one I want to talk about is the hair masque. I actually have two hair masks here that I haven't used yet, and the reason being is that hair masks they kind of vary. It'S really like an icing on the cake, or maybe the back of clothes, that you need to take back to the Salvation Army and donee that you really don't need it's kind of falls in between it's just one of those type of products, and here is why Hair mask really means to mask the issues that are going on, not saying that it doesn't work, but masking anything is what you're doing when it comes to the mask. So it can be a deep conditioning mask it can be a protein treatment mask. It can be a strengthening amino mask, which is this one by hare infinity. This one is an anti breakage and repair hair mask, so the mass can be just a variety of things, and I would say this is the most confusing one of all, because it's really a combination of a type of like treatment to your hair. But you would only know what type of treatment you're gon na get if you read the directions and what it says and that's what their guarantee you. So that's only what you can go off of. I don't really go for masks. These ones were actually samples that I got and I'm like. I said I don't use them because it's not necessary. You know the deep conditions necessary the protein treatment, the masks, it's just a bonus, it's just an addition. If you're gon na do it, I recommend once a month - and I recommend switching it out for your deep conditioner - never switch out your protein treatment if your hair needs it. I think definitely keep that and now you know the difference between a deep conditioner, a protein treatment and a hair mask, and once again the most important ones you want to focus on. First is a deep conditioner. That'S gon na bring the most moisture to your hair and then, secondly, a protein treatment. If your hair needs third, a hair mask it's an addition. If you want to spend the money on it, go ahead, but it's not something that you absolutely need. So I hope this video was so informative to you that you've got a lot out of it again. Please share it like it comment below and subscribe to the channel. If you are not subscribed already and I'll see you on the next video take care.
