( upbeat music ), Do you know your hair porosity level? Hair porosity is the ability of your hair to retain and absorb moist Welcome to ipsy? U. I'm Victor Mendoza and today we're here to talk about hair porosity and the best leave-in conditioners for your hair.. There'S three levels of hair porosity, low, medium and high.. If you don't know your porosity level, there's only two things: you need clean hair and a cup with room temperature water. Place a strand of clean hair on the water.. If your hair stays on the surface, that means you have low porosity.. If your hair floats in the middle, that means you have medium porosity. And if your hair sinks in the bottom, that means you have high porosity. Porosity, can be determined by genetics, environmental heat, use.. There'S different ways: you can manage your hair porosity level and one of'em is using the proper and right leave-in conditioner. Leave-in conditioners are your 3rd step after you, shampoo and condition.. You should apply your leave-in conditioner on wet hair, but some of'em can be apply on dry on hair.. You don't have to rinse'em out and they're great for every type of hair.. Here we are with our ipster Amanda, who happens to have low porosity hair.. A characteristic of a low porosity hair is a cuticle that is sealed. Compact is really tight that it makes it really hard for moist and water to penetrate.. If your hair gets oily and it gets heavy, maybe you have low porosity. Hair. Products tend to build on the surface of the hair, and for that we recommend for you to do a clarifying shampoo, at least once or twice a month, because the cuticle is so sealed and tight. It'S really hard for moist to penetrate.. For that reason, we recommend for you to rinse your hair with warm water when spraying leave-in conditioners. Once it absorbs the moist. It takes a long time to dry.. So now we're gon na go ahead and shampoo and condition her hair and then, after that, use a leave-in, conditioner. ( clock ticking ). We are back with Amanda. Her hair is now clean. We're gon na be using our Briogeo milk, leave-in conditioner., A really lightweight leave-in conditioner that has rosehip argan and coconut oil. That is gon na help us restore the hydration of your hair.. It has heat protectant and is great for hair. That is, color treated, has keratin services or is chemically straightened. Go ahead and apply your leave-in conditioner, starting with the ends, because that's where the hair is the dryest., So we're gon na apply bottom-up. We're gon na work ourselves. Up. This product is great because you can use it on dry and wet hair.. Low porosity, hair cuticle is tight, so we wan na go ahead and do it right after the shower. After we rinse our hair with warm water.. So now that we are done applying our leave-in conditioner we're go ahead and style.. One of the benefits of this leave-in conditioner is that heat protectant is gon na help us with taming the frizz and the flyaways. ( clock ticking ). So I'm gon na go ahead and curl her hair give her some soft waves.. One thing you need to know about this leave-in conditioner is that you can use it on dry hair., So I'm just gon na go ahead and wrap the hair around the barrel. Leave. It for a few seconds release and there you go., Beautiful, healthy hair.. This leave-in conditioner is gon na help. You reduce the flyaways and the frizz on her hair.. Here we have a ipster Sara who happens to have medium hair porosity., Which means she has healthy, hair.. ( hands clapping together, ) Either she was born with it or she takes care of it.. It'S cuticle that is healthy, open absorbs what it needs when it comes to moisture and hydration.. The only thing you need to do is use the right products and take care of it. Girls out. There can agree with me that some of you guys don't use leave-in conditioners because it weights your hair down and that's probably because you're not using the right and the proper leave-in conditioner. We're gon na go ahead and use OUAI leave-in conditioner a really lightweight multitask leave-in Conditioner with thermo protection., It's gon na help with taming our frizz, our flyaways, leaving your hair shiny, healthy, it's gon na condition, and it's gon na detangle, your hair.. So now we're gon na go ahead and shampoo and conditioner Sara's, hair and key point is to remember that low porosity hair. You need to use warm water to open the cuticle. With Sara's hair. We don't need to do that. We just need to have damp hair, apply, leave-in, conditioner., (, clock ticking ). So now we're gon na apply our leave-in conditioner.. This leave-in conditioner is lightweight, it is a multitask. Mist has thermo protection., So we're gon na go ahead and apply bottom-up.. It'S gon na help. Us to reduce the frizz tame, the flyaways, leaving her hair shiny, healthy. It'S gon na help us with detangling, and it's gon na condition her hair at the same time.. Here we are with ipster Melissa, who happens to have high porosity hair. High porosity hair. The cuticle on the strand happens to be open, wide open., Which means moist, can go directly in, but easy goes in. Easy goes. Out. High, porosity hair is dry, its dull. It lacks of shine. Many reasons why you will have high porosity hair. One of'em could be genetic right, Melissa, High, porosity hair will be caused by the use of heat or chemical services.. There is ways we can open cuticle, which means it will absorb products really easy, but the same way that it goes in it will easily go out. High, porosity, hair tangles, really easy and gets wet, really really fast.. There'S many ways you can help to control the high porosity on your hair, and that is hydration.. Protein is really important when it comes to high porosity hair. Why? Because hair is made of proteins so pretty much, you need to put back in what your hair is lacking. Of.. So now we're gon na go ahead and shampoo and condition Melissa's hair. When using a leave-in conditioner. You must shampoo condition the hair and apply leave-in conditioners on wet hair., Especially when you have high porosity, hair. ( clock ticking ), We're gon na use pure brazilian miracle, leave-in conditioner.. Remember you want leave-in conditioners that have protein hydration. Why? Because that's what your hair is lacking, of. We're gon na go ahead and apply leave-in conditioner, ( cap, popping off ) bottom-up, so remember use as much as you can, because high porosity hair tends to absorb all the moist you give it. Remember easy goes in easy. Goes out. We're gon na apply it bottom-up. We're gon na work it up to the roots.. This leave-in conditioner is great for her hair because it has keratin infused that is gon na repair. Her hair and her hair is gon na love, it.. It hydrates and replenish dull, dry hair and it's gon na repair and prevent split, ends. And remember. Leave-In conditioners, is one of the most important things that you should be wearing on your hair.. It'S like drinking water, every day.. So now that we have applied our pure brazilian leave-in conditioner, we have as well applied butters oils gels because remember high porosity hair needs a lot of hydration.. So now we're gon na go ahead and use a diffuser on really low. Temperature. Be patient and take care of your hair. ( clock, ticking ), And here she is our ipsy beauty Melissa with her beautiful hair. And there you have it guys, the three porosity levels and thank you for watching. Ipsy? U

BeaunaturelleFeb11: This was EXTREMELY helpful!! I have VERY LOW porosity hair, so I’ve been warming up my DIY liquid leave-in conditioner before application, but because of the ph balance of it, I felt that it wasn’t really going into my hair. So thank you for confirming that I need to use warm water first to open up the cuticle, and THEN go in with my leave in conditioner. Can’t wait to try this. ☺️ Thank you.

Elisha M: Like literally the most helpful thing I've found when searching what leave in conditioner to use
