Hey guys welcome or welcome back to my channel. My name is amanda. If you are new here and today, i am gon na be talking about my hair, i'm gon na be sharing how i grew my natural hair. My hair is 4c strictly foresee no chemicals. No, nothing and if you are interested to hear how i grew my hair, please keep on watching and remember if you are not subscribed to my channel. Please do subscribe in this video guys, i'm giving you my hair routines. I have different hair routines depending on the states of my hair and i'm gon na inside the picture and show you where my hair was um a year ago. Exactly and yeah it's been quite an interesting journey. I think i cut my hair um so last time i cut my hair was in september 2020 and i'm going to insert a picture and show you how short my hair was. But if you are not new to my channel, then i'm pretty sure you are aware of um how my hair has changed the past couple of uh months or in the past yeah, so um, i'm gon na share with you guys the products that i've been using As well with my hair routine, i don't want to give too much credit to the product that i use. I think the my hair is in the states because of what i do. Okay, so first things. First, i'm going to talk about wash days, washing my hair. How often do i wash my hair because that's the question that i get a lot so with washing my hair, it really depends on what was done on my hair right now. I have a two stars on my hair and this two stars is, i would say this is the sixth day with this twist out, i washed my hair on sunday and then i moisturized it and i did a twist two twist strands and then i uh did It to start on monday to date, saturday - and this is how the hair is looking. I did yesterday put a live in conditioner because my hair felt like it was dry and i never want to have dry hair. My hair is dry naturally, but i do hydrate my hair throughout the week, so you have to hydrate your hair. I mean like when i refresh my hair. I refresh my hair with water, get yourself a water bottle. You don't have to buy. If you can just get a water bottle and cleaning or you can buy it and then put water in your water bottle and hydrate your hair, because that is what is important. So tomorrow is sunday i normally wash my hair on sundays. I have different cleansers for my hair, the one that i'm going to use tomorrow to wash my hair. It is this one by ange jackets. It is the purify me moisturizing, co, wash cleanser. I use this when i didn't do much on my hair. A car wash is a cleanser. Oh, it's not a clean. It'S a conditioner with cleansing properties. I don't want to shampoo my hair all the time, because a shampoo can strip out moisture out of your hair. So since i don't have too much buildup on my hair, there's no need for me to go in with the shampoo and shampoo my hair. So i use a co-wash about, i would say two times a month or three times a month again, depending on the condition of my hair. After this, i do not use any conditioner. I do not use under conditioner it's just my lazy wash day and then from there on i jump straight to to moisturizing my hair. I use a t-shirt to dry my hair because um i heard that towels tend to dry your hair and they break your hair. Uh - and i don't mind that, like i said, my hair is naturally dry and i don't want to use any products that are going to or use any um any tools or any products that are going to further strip it off its moisture. So that is cleansing. Number one and number two: if i use too many products on my hair, like gels and stuff, then i definitely then i am definitely going to shampoo my hair because i need to get rid of all those products on my head and a shampoo is very, very Good at getting a product of your hair - and it also depends on what shampoo you are using. I love to use shampoos or products that are moisturizing that are going to give my hair moisture and the one that i'm loving. It is this one by anchor keys. It is called also clean, moisturizing and softening shampoo. I really really love the shampoo. It really makes my hair soft. Like honestly, my hair feels amazing after this and then after shampooing, my hair, i'm going to go in with deep conditioning now. That is a very, very important step. It is so important to deep condition your hair to treat your hair. That'S when, like you bring back the curl pattern, i just go in with my um duck and lovely all naturals. It all nature is all natural not out. Detangling conditioner this works. For me it has mango oil and bamboo oil, and i would just leave this on for 15 minutes or 20 minutes and put on a shower cap as well as a what you call this thing. Okay, i forgot. I put the name on the screen. I put that i covered that and leave that on for 20 minutes, and then i rinse it out, and while i do that, i detangle my hair, it's either. I will finger detangle, my hair or i will use like a detangler brush or detangle comb, and this is my favorite one. I love this one and um i detangle when i'm conditioning i detangle when i take it out and um just to make sure that i don't have any knots on my hair. I also detangle before uh, washing my hair, depending on how my hair was right and then from there on, i dry, my hair and then it's time for the lip lock method which i'm going to share with you after sharing my last um wash routine um. So this one will be after my protective style, like your braids, your your cornrows and stuff, because i do keep those for a while and to be honest with you when my hair is in braids, i don't wash it because i don't have experience with washing hair That um is braided with extensions. I'Ll, just be honest with you guys, i do not um. I used to go to a salon, don't wash my hair, but what i hated was to sit in a dryer for hours so that my braids in my hair will dry and i honestly i don't have time for that. So that's why i stopped, but me personally i have never washed my braids or my cornrows straight back. I don't have any experience with that. I used this hairspray by african pride to refresh my braids. They will be products built up, obviously, because i'm spraying and also i use oil. I also use this scarf a balm by ors and normally i keep my braids for four to six weeks when it's time for my wash days, i've taken down the braids now and it's time for me to wash my hair i before even getting to washing my Hair i um detangle my hair and i don't detangle just dry hair or with just water. I use water and i use a conditioner. Some people use oil and stuff, but for me i found that a conditioner works. Well, i've run out of this, but i use this a lot when i i detain all my head. This is afro botanics, moisturizing, leave-in conditioner. I spritz water on my hair, put this on detangle and then i will maybe put it into twist. The reason why i use this to detangle my hair and it does make my hair soft, like my hair, feels really really amazing and moisturized with this. The reason why it is used as a detangler instead of like a leave-in conditioner, is because it flakes a lot. You would think you've got like dandruff, it really really flakes. This is a. It is an amazing product, but it's a pr. It is a product that flakes and i don't understand why the products flakes so much so because i love it. I did not want to give up on it. I decided that you know what i'm just gon na use it to detail my hair, but i'm definitely not gon na use it and leave it on because then my wash day will have to be every second day or every day. Because of this - and you don't want to over wash your hair because you are gon na - be because you're gon na be taking moisture off your hair. So you don't want to do that. Another product that i use for detangling my hair and it is for detangling. I used to use this as a leave-in conditioner, but it wasn't working us and it's not a leave-in, conditioner and yeah. I had to find a leave-in conditioner, okay, this not on my watch detangling therapy. This is amazing. It detangling your hair. I like the fact that it is very liquidy it has shea butter and olive oil. It is just so so perfect. The reason why i don't want to go in with just shampoo: that's because i use a clarifying shampoo, so a clarifying shampoo, it's a product that is really going to take dirt out of your hair. This shampoo really takes dirt out of your hair. My hair feels really clean feels really dry so because of that as like, i don't want strip moisture out of my hair. So let me moisturize my hair and i found out that there is the people. There are people who do that. It'S called pre-poo, but i'm not sure whether what i'm doing is creepy, because when people pre-poo they leave it overnight and they also use your oils and stuff that coconut oil and olive oil. I don't. I use store-bought products and they're working for me and i don't have to wash my hair the next day. I don't have time for that. Honestly speaking, i'm a lazy natural and i am not ashamed to admit it. Okay, so after that, i leave it on for like a couple of minutes honestly, i just leave it in for for maybe like 10 minutes or something, and then i wash my hair. I use a clarifying shampoo and the one that i am so obsessed with. It is this power wash by uh and jackie's as well. It is incense, moisture, clarifying shampoo, i'm not sure about the intense moisture parts because, like i said, my hair does fall dry afterwards, not really dry, but it's like super super clean, like there's. Nothing left on. My hair this products, honestly speaking it will it's really good. It'S really really good at removing dirt out of your of your hair, um, pretty sure there are many others, but this is what is working for me if you've noticed all the cleansers that i use are from anchor keys. I'Ve used one before i think from a different thing: it was organics or something, but it had sulfates and all these ones are sulfate free and then, after the clarifying shampoo i go in with a treatment i dip conditioner. I will use a protein treatment um. I think it's by palmer's the protein pack. I don't have it i'm going to put a picture because i don't don't have it with me um, because it's just like a small pack that you use once i'm able to use one on my hair um. But i think it will depend how thick or how long your hair is. My hair is not that long, so one packet is still pretty much enough for me. I think i use a protein treatment um one it once every three months. I think i don't use a protein treatment or protein conditioner all the time i will be lying. No now we are going to move on to the last part of my hair routine. Like i said uh, my moisturizing is the same all the time. I do. The luck method it works for me, it works for my hair. I'Ve got low, porosity hair, which is why i do a lot more luck, method which is liquid or leave-in conditioner. I go in with a leave-in conditioner, a leave-in conditioner that i was using uh. Is this one by anchor case as well called moisture, intensive, leave-in conditioner? I honestly didn't think or didn't feel like this was doing anything for my hair. I didn't like it it's too watery for me. Uh and i don't know it felt like. Maybe my hair wasn't like washed enough, like i didn't wash the shampoo, it was sort of like foaming on my hair that that there was a time when i went back and i rinsed my hair, but then i realized that no man, it is not it's not Because i didn't rinse out the products on my hair, it's because it's just what the the product does and the way it feels as well. Like i don't know i just i didn't like it. It'S also got shea butter and olive oil, but i'm not a i'm. Not a huge fan, so i got myself another leave-in conditioner that i'm so obsessed about. It is creamy, it is thick and it just it works. Well, for my hair, it is the cantu live in conditioner. This also has a sheer batter. It says it is a repair cream, so i really really love this. It is for damaged dry, of course, hair. My hair is very, very close. Okay, my hair is very, very dry, i'm not sure if it's damaged, it's actually, no, it's not damaged, but this baby right here is amazing for my hair. So i've been using this for the past um couple of weeks and i've been loving and it's going to stay. It is not going anywhere, it's going to stay and then, when it comes to oils, honestly speaking, i'm not that sure. Okay, i'm going to put up a picture of this growth oil that i've been using. I'M not sure if it really does anything for my hair growth. I do not want to lie, but it is called the growth oil. I it's all it's by african pride. I'Ve been using that oil, but i'm not sure if i don't know sometimes i like it. Sometimes i don't like it. I don't have a bottle, but i have it with me if i can just find it. It'S not with me, because i put it in something like this yeah i put it in this rs bottle because it just works best. Sometimes i can even just squeeze it on my hair. I took it out of its original uh bottle and i put it on this and i'll just put up a picture of the product so that you see what it looks like it is by african pride and another oil that i use it. Is this a custard oil by a native child? It is a hair growth oil as well. It'S it's castor oil. So it's very thick. The consistency is very thick. I think this is very good for for your hairline and i can say that it's good for for hair growth here um when it comes to my hairline. My hair literally starts on my face. It starts on my face and my hairline is like this hair. For me has never grown okay, it will grow to a certain length. It has i've, never seen it long, and i actually prefer it that way, because i honestly don't want my hair. I don't know i don't know, but i think i'm okay with it the way that it is maybe because the plan is to chop it off again. Maybe when i decide to grow it out again, um i'll, see i'll start and see if i can grow my my hairline better and the last product that i use to moisturize my hair. It is this aunt. Jackie'S slid up sealing batter or hydrating sitting butter. It is very hydrating i do not want to lie this product is very. Very this product is very, very hydrating and i love it and my hair will stay in like moisturized for days like i said, i only touched up my hair yesterday and i only touched it with um with leave-in conditioner. It was moisturized on sunday and after six days or after five days, my hair felt like okay, it's a little bit dry, it's winter of course, and it does need a little bit of moisture and i applied a leave-in conditioner. So this loc method really works. For me and my hair will stay moisturized mostly. I will keep my hair in two strands twist or opening betty. I don't know what you call it in your country, but in south africa we call it opening betty um i'll, just braid my hair braid it flat and um keep it like that. Maybe sometimes i do keep it for a week if my hair has been kept like that for a week. That'S also another protective style that i do, but i do prefer doing like um, two strand switches just to keep my hair. You know protected especially the ends. They say it's very important to keep your your um, your ends hidden and protected, and so that is what i do um. Sometimes i just take it off and then i will do it to start and keep my hair like this. I do not touch my hair, i don't. I remember the first time i went natural, which was 2016.. I used to every night do two strength. Twisters i'll, do as two students take them off in the morning. Go to work. Come back. Do them again, because i heard that that was what you were supposed to do and it was frustrating, and i did not know what products i had to use and it was just like when you see people doing their wash days. They were using like thousand products, and i hated that so for me it was just like it was something else. Yes, even now, i'm tired of my natural hair, but i'm loving the natural hair routine, that i've built for myself and for me honestly this that i'm showing you here works and it works pretty. Well, i'm really really happy uh with the states that my hair is in. Maybe if i were to try the things like your rice, water um, maybe my hair will grow different or maybe my hair will grow faster. I don't think my hair is growing that fast um, so yeah, but yeah. I'M just want to show you the length of my hair, i'm just going to pull my hair and just move a bit back and show you how long my hair is or even come a little bit closer, and you see that my hair is pretty pretty long. It has grown, i'm really really happy with this growth. Let'S just put that baby back. I'M also gon na just pull it in front here, but on the side so that you see it, i'm not sure if you can yeah - and that is my that is my hair and it's all because really of a simple routine, which i can just sum it Up for you guys, i hydrate my hair, so it all starts with water. Do not think that water is like water. Is your number one friend when it comes to hair okay, so i hydrate my hair. I clean my hair, i condition, or i deep condition and treat my hair and i moisturize my hair. I would also add like stay away from your hair, so i don't touch my hair that often i don't manipulate my hair or let me just fix it or do things or play with my hair. I leave my hair alone and um yeah. I hope you found this video very, very helpful. Like i said these products are what work for me. Maybe if you have similar products like you, have shampoos conditioner stuff and you follow my routine. Maybe it will work for you so yeah guys that is my hair routine.
