Hey guys, it's brooklyn and welcome back to my channel or welcome to my channel if you're new, so today, i'm gon na be bringing you guys, an updated curly, hair routine and this routine is like my summertime routine. So it's been what i've been doing recently and what's been working for me and as you can see, the turnout is pretty good and this is my day two hair. So in this video, i'm showing you guys all the steps of how i got here, and this is actually a pretty detailed routine. I showed you guys all the products i used a bunch of different styling techniques that i use as well as how i sleep with my hair at night, so you're going to get all the details to that in this video so stay tuned. But before we jump into that, i want to quickly announce that i made a vlog channel. I told you guys once i hit 20k, that i would create a vlog channel and we're at 20k now. So i stuck to my word and i made a vlog channel and the first vlog is going up tomorrow, and i know you guys don't want to miss that so make sure you guys subscribe to the new channel i'll put a screenshot on the screen i'll link. It up in the eye i'll put the link in the description and i'll put it down in the comments, so you guys really can't miss it so make sure you subscribe to the new channel and yeah. Let'S just get right into this video. Okay, i just got out of the shower and my hair is freshly washed and i'm ready to start styling, but first i'm going to show you guys what i use to actually wash my hair. So i use these two products. This is the shea moisture red palm oil and cocoa butter high slip. Detangling shampoo - and this shampoo is good, if, like your scalp, isn't really that dirty, but you still want a quick wash. That'S like just super gentle on your hair. That'S what this shampoo is good for, and then my conditioner, i use this carol's daughter, washed a delight jelly to cream conditioner, and this conditioner is kind of weird. The actual product itself is like a gel consistency, so it's definitely weird, but i've been using it and it does the job so and then i also did a deep conditioner today and i used the shea moisture manuka honey and mafuro oil. Intensive hydration hair mask this hair mask has been a go-to for a very long time. It never fails and it always just makes my hair super hydrated and it's just always a go-to to detangle my hair. I used my tangle teezer and this is another go-to of mine. I'Ve been using this brush for years, never fails it always detangles. My hair super super easily and this is easily my favorite brush to use and it's really the only brush i ever use, because it's that good yeah, that's everything i used on my hair already and now we can get into the actual styling. So, as you can see, my hair is in these two braids right now, and i always just put my hair into these two sections once i wash it just to keep it like from getting tangled again or anything, the first product i'm gon na go in with Is this african pride moisture miracle shea butter and flaxseed oil curling cream? This product has become a new favorite of mine. It'S only like four or five dollars at walgreens, so super affordable, it's like thick, but it doesn't make your hair feel heavy. If that makes sense - and it's super moisturizing - my hair loves this stuff. So i've been using this a lot recently, i'm just going to take like a good amount and put this through each half of my hair and i'm basically just using this product as if it's a leave-in conditioner same thing to the other half something i've been doing Recently is just making sure that i put like some product on my edges or just like the front section of my hair, because this area, i noticed, gets extra dry. I guess from just doing my edges and brushing it back and stuff, so i've been trying to show that area. Some extra love by just making sure i put some moisture in that area. Now i'm gon na start sectioning off my hair and i kind of like to work in big sections when i'm styling my hair, just because it takes too long to do tiny sections, but doing one big section like takes away from the definition of my hair. So i work in medium to large size sections. This is the size of the first section. It'S probably really uneven, but i'm not really concerned about the parts or anything because you won't see them anyways, so it doesn't really matter. I'M going to take my water bottle and just re-wet this section a little bit because it's starting to dry a bit and whenever i add in more water, i'm taking this off. It'S annoying me um. Whenever i add in more water, i like to work in the water before i start adding more products, i feel like. I just make sure that my hair is actually absorbing the water and that the water isn't just sitting on top of my hair, the next product. I am going in with is this suave curl defining cream and this product is really thick, but again it doesn't make your hair feel too heavy, but because it's thick it adds moisture. But it also starts to like clip my curls together and make them look defined, which is ideal, and this product is also really inexpensive. Um. I think this one was maybe like between like five or eight dollars. I don't remember exactly how much it was, but it was also inexpensive. The last thing i'm going to use is this jane carter solution, coiling all curls, elongating gel. This is actually like a pretty lightweight gel and in the winter i tend to use heavier gels that weigh my hair down a little bit more but, like my hair needs that in the winter, but for the summer time i can get away with using some lighter Gels yeah, i forgot to mention the products i'm showing you guys. I don't use these products every single time i wash my hair. I rotate between a lot of different products, just so that my hair doesn't get used to the same exact thing, but the products i'm using today are just the ones that have been my favorites as of recently yeah. These aren't the only products i ever use, but these ones do work well in my hair and the way i apply gel to my hair, i don't know if you guys saw what i'm doing, but i don't break it through my hair. I kind of use like the praying hands method so like that just fell, but i kind of glide my hands across my hair instead of raking it in - and i feel like this just helps with the definition and it really clumps my curls together. I don't know the feel, like the curls just hold a lot better when i do it this way, instead of breaking it in here is what this bottom section of my hair looks like with all the products in it, so i just took out that scrunchie and Now i'm gon na section off another area of my hair. This second section that i just made it goes from like ear to ear, and i don't know if that really showed it well, but it basically just sections off what will be the back of my hair and what will be the front of my hair so yeah. It'S usually from ear to ear. I'M just going to repeat that same process that i did for the bottom portion. So i'm going to start by spraying it with some water and then i'm gon na go in with the curl defining cream and something i like to do when i'm working with this second back section i like to make sure that there isn't any type of middle Part because if my middle part is reaching all the way back here, then it ends up making my hair look really flat once it's dry, so i like to make sure that the hair is all going backwards and not to the side. If that makes sense, i don't know if i explained that well but basically, when i'm raking in the product, i just make sure i'm bringing it all as much back as i can and i'm not raking it to the side. But i'm just making sure i rake it back if that makes sense, i hope that does making sure it all goes to. The back. Just helps me add a lot more volume to my hair once it's dry when you're styling your hair, it just helps to keep in mind what shape you're trying to go for, because that is determined by what direction you're pulling the curls in. So just keep that in mind, while you're sawing your hair. I feel like that tip has helped me out a lot just like before i'm going to go in with some of the gel. Before i start working on the front of my hair, i have like one little step that i like to do. That is again just one of those little things that makes a big difference at the end. So what i'm gon na do? I'M just gon na shake my hair and it looks really stupid, but basically what it helps do it helps just separate my curls so that it's not just all stuck together. It helps separate and define them a bit more. I don't know it's just one little thing that i feel like makes a big difference, so i just like to do it doing. This also helps prevent my hair from being like stuck down to my head, because it like lifts it up now, i'm gon na start working on the front of my hair and doing the front is always easier than doing the back, because i can actually see what I'M doing in middle school, i tried to do the side part, but it was not a look. It was very bad. So now i always just stick to my middle part, like i explained earlier how it's important to keep in mind the shape of your hair. I feel like that is really really important when you're styling the front of your hair, so i like my hair to be in like a more rounder shape when i'm styling the front. So to do that, i just make sure that the hair isn't going forward. Naturally, the front sections of my hair, it like kind of lays my hair in like a forward direction and to get the round shape. I have to move my hair back and kind of spread it out along the side of my head. I don't know if i'm doing these explanations good, like it's making sense in my head, but it might be really confusing to you guys. So if i'm confusing you sorry um, i'm trying you guys can see how this is all coming forward. So i'm basically like, while i'm adding in my product, i'm gon na, try to bring it back and like spread it out back like that, i'm bringing the hair away from my face. Basically, it makes sense when you're doing it on your own hair. You just kind of have to play around, with whatever shape you're trying to create and your length and your hair thickness, and all of that so it'll definitely make more sense. When you're doing your own hair, i'm going to just continue taking these pieces and bringing them out and raking them to the side, and you would think something so little like this - wouldn't make such a big difference. But i've noticed it actually makes a huge difference with the final shape of my hair, and i, like my hair way more once it has that shape to it. The only pieces that i actually do like to bring to the front are just the front couple of strands, because i like those to frame my face a bit, but everything else i like to push it towards the back. Here is what this front section is looking like, and i'm just going to do that exact same process on this last section. The left side of my hair gets like way more defined than the right side, and it's kind of unfair like. Why does this side always look so much better than this one? I don't know just like how i did with the back of my hair, i'm just gon na shake my hair again to help separate the curls in the front of my head. I kind of do it side to side too just to lift this hair off of the roots. Alright. So here's how my hair looks like now that it's all styled and i don't diffuse my hair or anything i just let it be, and i let it air dry i'll, show you guys the difference between my day, one and my day, 2 hair. So i'll update you guys tonight and then update you guys again tomorrow i'll be back to update you guys. So it's been about six or seven hours, since i last updated you guys and here's what my hair is looking like um as you can see, i definitely got some shrinkage, but other than that. My hair is still pretty flat and overall boring, and this is how my day, one hair always turns out and i'm just never a personal fan of this look. I prefer having more volume and more shape and everything, and you guys will see in my next update, which will be tomorrow morning. What my day, two hair looks like and you're just gon na see how much more volume and shape it has a part of where that volume and shape comes from is how i sleep with my hair. So i'm going to show you guys how i do that. Really quickly, i do have a gel cast and i usually always have a gel cast on day, one which i don't mind, because it just kind of guarantees that my hair is going to look nice for the rest of the week. So i don't really mind having that gel cast and by tomorrow morning everything will be softened up so to tie up my hair, i'm going to use this extra large scrunchie, that is from amazon if you type in extra large satin scrunchie. Something like this should come up, i'm going to flip my hair upside down like this and then just tie. My hair in a super super loose bun at the top of my head. Yes, i gather my hair up like this and then i wrap it around once and then i wrap it around again, just to form the bun and it's super loose and super messy, but that's just how i leave it. Oh, i definitely missed some pieces i'll fix that later um, i put it in a bonnet and that's how i sleep every night and it works for me and what this bun does it like stretches, the bottom layers of your hair and like the perimeter of your Hair which really helps create that shape that you guys will see in the next clip. I will update you guys in the morning, okay, so it's the morning now - and here is what this big old bun is looking like, and we can go ahead and take this down now. So i like to just shake it to loosen up all the curls and then i just kind of use my hands to fluff it out and move the curls around to whatever position i want them to be in okay. So here is what my hair looks like. It'S super super defined, super shiny, it's looking very moisturized, it's a good wash and go as you can see. I definitely have more shape to my hair and a bit more volume than i did last night, but it is still only day two. So there isn't a ton of volume in my hair but i'll insert some pictures of what my hair looks like you know, day three day, four you know just later on in the week, because that's when my hair gets really big and that's where all the volume Comes in so yeah here is my hair i'll show you guys the back throughout the week um with me tying up my hair at night. It stretches my hair. It stretches like the roots of my hair. More and more so throughout the week my hair also tends to look a little bit longer as well. So that's always good, but yeah here is the final product for day two and i'm gon na end off the video here. I hope you guys liked today's video. Hopefully it was kind of helpful to y'all um. If you did like the video make sure you give it a thumbs up and subscribe to my channel. So it's my next video and also make sure you subscribe to my vlog channel and stay tuned for the vlogs that i'm gon na be posting throughout the whole summer and whenever i feel like vlogging yeah, just make sure you stay tuned for that and subscribe to. Aquagirl111: I’m begging you to try the three step “method” my wash day has cut down to around an hour max and I have the same hair type/length as you. I got my info from @forthecootiequeens on tik tok and her yt is aleesis zaria!!
