Hey guys welcome back to my channel today, I'm talking about my low waist hair care routine. That includes what I use before the shower during the shower and afterwards, if anything. Now, if you've been following me for a while, you know that I used to straighten my hair blow-dry, my hair, and I had been going down my natural curly sort of journey for the last two months, because I want to embrace my natural hair, because curly is Beautiful and I just feel like curly hair isn't really talked about very much in the low-waist movement and yeah. I'Ve been trying a lot of different things to try and get my curls to reform and to be not frizzy and believe me. I'Ve tried a lot of things. I'M sharing today with you the kind of my current routine. What I'm finding has managed to get my curls back to being actually bringi and not kind of falling out, and also I don't use anything after the shower, and yet my hair isn't frizzy, which is a dream. So if you liked this video, please give it a thumbs up, especially if you find it helpful and comment. Anything in the comment section below do. Bear in mind that my hair is particular particular type. It'S very clearly it is quite dry, but it is also a little bit thin. So if you have sort of dryer or much curly hair, you might want to change it up a little bit and if you have very fine hair again, you might want to use a lot less of oil that I use in my hair. So, let's just get straight into the video. So one of the things I like to do before I get in the shower is to run my fingers through my hair just to kind of untangle it. Because if you know - and if you have curly hair you'll know that you get a lots and lots of knots, I don't like to comb it or brush it through, especially because brushing damages my hair and combing. I don't I just don't really like it. I don't want to put anything through my hair unless it's wet, so I just like to run my fingers through it just to get out some of those knots before I put in the oil. So before I get in the shower, I actually don't use conditioner and instead I conditioned my hair with olive oil. Before you can use sweet almond oil as well or just normal. Our world oil just depends on what you have available to you. I use olive oil at the moment, I'm just finding that it's great and I love it. So I'm just putting quite a happy like big help, helping happy helping it's that video thing anyway, putting a good helping into my hair and just running it through now. You can see I am going quite high, but that's only because of the top layers of my hair are quite shorter. Much quite a lot shorter than my lower layers, but don't go anywhere near your scalp. Don'T put it sort of like really high up, especially if you have fine hair. If you have much coarser, hair or sort of or much drier hair, then you might want to go a bit further up, but I personally don't I just like to and also you cannotice here that I'm putting a lot of olive oil in again. If you have finer hair, you really don't want to be putting very much in because when you come to wash your hair, you will not be able to get all of it out now, once I've run my kind of olive oil all through my hair, making sure That it's getting every little bit of it, then I'm gon na cop in the shower I like to have a medium heat, not too hot, because, as I said, I'm trying not to use heat on my hair anymore and hot water still acts as heat. So I'm trying to have like a medium to cold shower when I'm washing my hair just to make sure it's nice and conditioning and not overheating, then I'm gon na be using a homemade shampoo. I found that using of some conventional shampoos, which I did go back to recently, have really buggered up my hair and basically made my scalp super itchy. So now, what I'm trying which I do actually really like is to brew some fresh, green tea and then to mix about 1 tablespoon of castile soap in it. And I just pop that in and I give it a nice real mix and it's nice because it tastes tastes. This smells really delicious and it smells exactly like green tea, which is so good. Then I just put that through the ends of my hair. At first just to get rid of the oils, and then I just kind of pour all over my head and really really smush it in, as you can see, it's getting really foamy, and that is because of the castile soap. I give my head a nice little massage and yeah. Then I rinse it all out, make sure you're really really rinsing that out, because if you have finer hair that olive oils gon na get stuck in there and if you're, finding it's not coming out, you probably want to shampoo your hair a couple more times just To make sure you've got rid of all of that oil ions, it would just look like you've got wet to kind of a 15 year old hair, where you put in too much mousse and you've got that real crunchy look. Believe me. I know it well when I get out the shower. This is when I start to really really simplify and just make sure that I'm doing a few certain things for my hair, because I have curly hair. I absolutely do not comb it or anything like that afterwards and I do not apply any products. I simply dry it a little bit with a towel being really careful not to kind of edge it up or anything like that, and I basically just kind of smush the curls into the towel, just to get them a little bit drier and then once I've done. That I scrunched like there is no tomorrow I scrunch my curls up just to make sure that they are being formed properly. Otherwise they won't be very formed and they'll just be a bit frizzy and not at all. What I like and then I just leave it to air dry and then your hair. Well, my hair looks like this and because my hair is a bit of a weird shape at the moment, I just put a little bit of it back and a tiny little ponytail. I leave kind of like a little bit at the front just to give it some kind of like give my face a bit of frame so that it's not kind of like all scraped back and a few other things. I only wash my hair once a week. I really try to wash it a little bit less so when my hair, my curls, are looking a bit scrunched and you know not particularly nice. I simply just put my hair up yeah. I all sometimes brush it, but if I brush it then I'll have to put it in plats or put it up. Because let me tell you when you brush curly hair, it becomes bigger than this size, but I love it and yeah. So I don't use any products on my hair after I have washed it, because, honestly, the olive oil I find is incredibly conditioning and it just keeps all my curls nicely defriend. If you find that you do need products, then, obviously again, I'm only gon na recommend oils, because I love oils so much. I think that they are the perfect thing for dry hair, I wouldn't say to use coconut oil because I think coconut oil is actually very dry. It'S also a moist. It'S not moisturizer, it's kind of like a moisture keeper in a you know, so it keeps the moisture in your hair. It doesn't necessarily moisturize your hair. However, I have found coconut oil to be very good if you have dandruff, sometimes I'll, put a little bit on my fingers and just like push it into my scalp all around and then wash it out the next day. But I've only found I get dandruff when I use conventional shampoos because they they make my head itch so bad, which is why I'm trying this green tea and castile soap mix? And I love it honestly. It might not work for you. So I will put another link down below for a shampoo recipe that I have which might work for you, but it's important to try out different things and yeah. This might be right for you, it might not be. You might want to use loads of olive oil to hide a bit of olive oil. You might get that you know crunchy. Look I like that. Crunchy look but olive oil honestly has been one of the best things that I have used for my hair and is the reason why my curls have finally kind of reformed after so many years of abuse of straightening of dyeing. And it's been four years now, since I've dyed my hair, so my hair is nice and natural, colors all natural, and it's only been about two months since I stopped straightening it or blow drying it. And it's weird because, like my hair is actually pretty long, but it just bounces back up because it's super curly but yeah, I'm actually just completely falling in love with my curls again, which is so nice because they have finally reformed and actually starting to look nice. But yeah, if you found this video helpful, please give it a thumbs up and let us talk more about curly hair in the low waist kind of movement. If you have any advice or other videos that you think are particularly helpful for other people, especially if you have much more textured or if you have kinky, hair and you're, not finding anything out there, that's suitable for you in the kind of low waist realm. Please put them down below there's also another video that I watched of a woman talking about kind of like 4c hair and the kind of low way stuff that she uses for that. So I put that down below and yeah. Please help other people out and give your advice if you've tried any of these things and you have finer hair and you want to help you find a hair ladies out or guys out down below then please, obviously, No and yep. That'S probably it for me. Ah, honestly, like I love the fact that I finally embraced my curly hair because gone are the days where I believe that I have to change my hair to look nice, because I mean it's cool, I like it. Also, there are so many really great instagrams that I follow. Curly perfectly is particularly one that I love and put that down below as well and some other ones yeah. So I hope you like it and subscribe comment share I'll, see you next time, bye,

rochelle gayle: You can make a brilliant curl gel/curl holder by boiling flaxseed. You can add oils like apricot oil or jojoba oil to the flaxseed gel to make it even more moisturising. I have 3c curls and I just pop some of this flaxseed gel in to my hair and it keeps my curls frizz free and moisturised wayyyyy better than any conventional leave in conditioners/curl activator creams I've tried

Amanda Round the Globe: SO EXCITED FOR THIS! Totally agree that curly hair is not talked about nearly enough in the low waste community! I love seeing low-waste alternatives to the conventional products :) :) THANK YOU for this!

The Blacktress Diaries: So glad to see you embrace your curly hair! I also appreciate that you mentioned curly hair not being mentioned in the low waste movement because I've been thinking that for a long time. I stopped chemically straightening my hair about two years ago and cut off all the straight ends seven months ago and still haven't found any low wasters whose hair routines I can draw inspiration from

Madeleine Olivia: Your curls are so beautiful, love that you're embracing them! I'm definitely going to be trying the olive oil trick next time I wash my hair!

Sim: You, The Kind Journey, and Sedona Christina are the only YTubers talking about hair that is not Type 1 (in the zero waste + low impact community that is) Minimalist Beauty has blog posts for Type 3 & 4 hair... but as you see, that's ONLY 4 people in this entire movement of blogs, books, and videos!!! My hair is kinky & coily, but I still find your video refreshing and needed!

Maria: As someone with curly hair, I really appreciate this video! I'm glad you're embracing your natural curls, they are so beautiful.

Shelbizleee: I really love your hair Immy! Your curls are too cute.

Jade D: If you have frizzy hair I recommend using a large tshirt instead if a tower to keep the moisture in your hair and make flaxseed gel! It's super easy, cheap and zero waste is you can get it in bulk

Kristina Marie: I love your natural curls!! I have naturally curly hair too and have been on my curly journey for five years. I love your low waste hair routine and thank you for putting the 3c/4a zero waste hair routine in your DB!

Light Warrior: I have curly hair and I really recommend a cold rinse at the end of the shower and then drying your hair with a tshirt or microfiber! It is amazing for combating frizz without products

Angela Tacao: The transition to low waste with my hair was easier than I thought, fortunatelly! I started using castile soap and it was great, so I still use it. But I thought that the curls would be hard to manage without other products that I was used to. Then, I made some research online and found flaxseed gel, tried it and loved it! This happened a long time ago, when I decided that I wanted to embrace my curly hair and I still do it. Because we don't need to change something that's working for you, right? I've been following you on youtube for a long and I felt like a "dejá vu" sensation when you made your videos about embracing your curls and your hair the way it is! It happened to me, too and I am so happy since I did it that it seems that my hair is giving me thanks, because it looks beautiful than ever! Hope that you feel it too. Good luck!

Big Hearts Tiny Vegans: This is amazing!! I’m a curly girl with a low waste lifestyle and this was so nice to see!

FrootKat: Hey Immy! :) I washed my hair with green tea today also! I brewed it really strong overnight and then mixed with a squeeze of natural shampoo and it washed super well and it smelled like heaven :) Thanks for the tip! It’s thanks to your channel that I have switched up quite a few of my habits so they make much less of an impact on the planet now :)

Leslie E: When you brush it, it becomes bigger than the sun. You’ve described it perfectly. No brushes on curly hair.

Meri-Tuuli Vilmunen: The curly struggle is real! Thank you for this video. I would love to hear more about different zero waste curly hair care routines. I've been trying to transition for months now and I have yet to find the right products... I have high porosity hair so I skipped shampoo bars and tried the no-poo method. I have experimented with conditioner bars and conditioner refills. My hair likes them well enough but my scalp itches like mad. I wash my hair 2-3 times a week and since I sweat from my scalp ALOT and have an active lifestyle it feels like all the sweat and other gross stuff is building up and intching in addition to the scalp being dry. I will be trying out your coconut oil tip tonigh and I'll definitely give your green tea shampoo a go at some point as well! I hate it that my curly hair hates being washed with shampoo but my scalp seems to need it. Maybe I'll find the balance someday, your video gives me hope!

Meghann Shae: I love that you're wearing your hair curly! I relate to your journey so much! I have very curly hair and people told me it was cute but I absolutely hated it so I straightened it for ages. Don't be discouraged if it takes awhile for your hair to really get those super bouncy, healthy curls back. It can take a year or two until your hair grows to get that heat-damaged hair phased out. :)

Mermaiduuu •: One more zerowaste tip, my curly hair is super dry, so after washing it, and get out the shower, I use flax seed gel with Shea butter and coconut oil, and it works amazing with the frizz. Good luck

Pixie Christiansen: This is so great! I'm a straight haired mama with two curly haired daughters and it’s been an interesting learning journey. I had no idea I wasn’t meant to comb curly hair so my eldest daughter’s curls have gone pretty lanky, more like waves than curls, and super frizzy. I’m a low-waste person too and I’m going to try your olive oil and green tea method. X

Lily Timmons: I have curly hair as well, so this video is an absolute godsend. Finally, a low-waste curly hair routine!

Eilinor Rigby: Yay for curly hair! Trying to go as low waste as possible and the idea of soap and green tea is very inspiring! Lest try it!

Reina Santillanes: I definitely recommend a microfiber towel to scrunch your hair. It really helps with frizz and changed my curly life

Nora Doyle: Thank you so much for making this video! Curly/wavy hair care is not talked about enough in the low waste community.

minaolenmusiikki: I'm so happy someone finally made a proper curly hair low waste routine! I have frizzy curly hair (2B-2C) and quite a lot of them, but I've always found hard to keep up with the zero waste hair care routine. One year ago I switched to solid shampoo and conditioner (LUSH) but they still have solfates in them and that's not that good for my frizzy hair. They also are quite expensive... I recently tried to do a hairmask EVERY SINGLE TIME before washing my hair and my curls are already relieved after 1 month! I usually mix together a banana, 1 tbs of honey and 2 of olive oil/no honey 4 tbs olive oil and this really helps. I also use a sort of post shower conditioner by LUSH, but I'd like to try your method and see if I can avoid that one, too.

Sophie Stanley: girl, I know all about curly hair being bigger than the sun when brushed!!! the struggle is real

Wolf Lover: You are sooo beautiful! I love how your curls look on you and the energy you are spreading. Thank you for sharing and for talking about this.

Silke Dewulf: Absolutely love this! I wish I could use the Castile soap on my hair but it's too drying for my hair But your hair looks absolutely BEAUTIFUL

Kate Arnold: I’m definitely going to try green tea and Castile soap on my hair. I’ve been washing my hair with just Dr Bronner’s for a while now and I love it. Every now and again I do an apple cider vinegar rinse which helps with the eczema on my scalp and makes my hair feel suupppeeerrr soft x

Solenn G.: Thank you ! Hair care has been one of the things I have struggled to transition to low waste! I am extremelly proud of my curly hair so that means that I am not willing to compromise on them even to save the planet but I am always on the look out to switch to better thing if they perform as well as my nasty plastic products.

Chanah Minuk: Beautiful! And thank you so much for an informative video. I also have curly hair, (though I cover it for religious reasons). My zero wasting hair care is a shampoo and conditioner that I buy at a local Zero Waste store, (refilling my bottles) I find it works really well for me and my family. (Though for my two year old, I use a shampoo bar. Sometimes I use the shampoo bar for myself, because I don't know which I like better for myself.)

Lizzy N-J: I'm so glad that I've found this video! I have the exact same hair and have often struggled with it over the years. Thank you for sharing :)

Birch Fox Farm and Garden: Using olive oil instead of conditioner....life changing! Thank you for this suggestion. I have been struggling through shampoo bars. My hair always gets so dried out and looks like dead hay. My curls have life again and my hair actually feels like hair again. Thank you!!!

Alicia J: I have straight-as-anything hair (as in literally will not do anything and any extra product leaves it greasy), but I enjoyed this video! Makes me want to work on some natural, low waste, moisture masks to keep my flat hair shiny and to keep me from purchasing ones that come in wasteful packaging. P.S. Your curls really suit you!

camila: I'm loving this! I used to do the same as you and I straigthened my hair for years! my curls started to look like undefined ziz zags. Then I started to use all this products that were supposed to help my hair, they did in a way but then I started to need more and more quantiies for getting the same result. Years later I started getting more conscious about all the plastic that I was leaving to the planet because of beauty also I realized that I stopped straightening my hair because I didn't wanted to be a slave of my hair, but with all those curly products I was a slave again. So I stopped using those and now I just use some oils and an unpacked natural shampoo that makes some local artisans. My hair is happy again, I feel like I have the curls I had as a child, carefree, healthy, defined curls without spending all that money and all that time. Also now I apprecite more the natural oils that my hair produces, my hair is shiney (not greasy) and I don't have to wash it as often as I did.

Jules: Thank you! I have challenging hair - I hear you when you talk about brushing... the volume, the frizz. Ugh what a nightmare. Sometimes I just think I’ll cut it all off! I have recently started using oils in my hair and it’s definitely helping it become more manageable. I have been doing ‘no poo’ for at least a year or two now. Can’t wait to try the shampoo you share here!

Rowan Theo: i love how even though youre using a regular towel, you still have like no frizz. olive oil is magic. you can trying using an old cloth instead of a towel and see if it can somehow get even better :)

Lauren May: Your hair looks so beautiful <3 I can totally relate to the "bigger than the sun" comment ;) I am trying to let my curls reform as well, as I used to tie my hair back when it was wet as a sort of non-heat straightening method. My burning question is how you wear your hair to sleep - it seems that no matter what I do my curls kind of go limp when I am rolling around, etc. Thank you so much for all of you super informative videos! Happy New Year!

Idea Baker: Your hair is gorgeous, and it is refreshing to see a curly hair tutorial using minimal amounts of product. My hair is closer to 4C so thank you so much for linking to the 4C video. I’ll be sharing your video with my bestie who has a similar curl pattern to yours!

Ida B: I can’t believe I found someone who have the exact same hair texture as I do. My curls quite tighter but still I’m so glad to find a zero waste hair routine for white girls with curly air. I will try it for sure. THANK YOU so much

Cath BP: Thank you for the video, nice intro to natural hair care for us curly girls! One question : have you updated your routine or is it still efficient? Do you need to deep condition? Do you need an acidic rinse?TY! :)

Amy Ogilvie: I’m doing curly girl method, and trying to live more sustainably and it doesn’t feel compatible, so glad I found this video and your Chanel today! Can’t wait to give this a go, it would be an amazing way to reduce wast and cost!

Olivia Wohlgemuth: me and my curly hair thank you for this video!!!! i've been wanting this for the longest time. love your stuff!

Gaby is kewl: Be careful with your shampoo! It is very alkaline, after a few months your scalp might not like it very much. The alkalinity can soften hair but it shocks your scalp and it can take days for your scalp to recover to the right ph. Though it feels soft and manageable that is really the disulfide bonds in your internal hair structure being weakened by the alkaline solution. You can add some lemon juice to lower the ph!

Kaia Bea: Yes curly hair! Mine is crazy thick so I’m honestly kind of scared to use oils in it but your shampoo idea looks amazing. Thanks for making this!

Retail Girly: Yes! We have the same texture hair and I’m so pumped for this!

Moment Memos: Such a good video! I have kind of wavy hair and really struggle to make it look nice and not a total disaster. I’ll try out putting oil in my hair before the shower and not combing it. And I have to say, you videos keep getting better, I love your channel!

Becca H: Love this, I have fine hair and struggle with some of the more conditioning shampoo bars from my local soap maker because they're just too oily, definitely going to try your green tea concoction! Also, that field! It's in my hometown just behind my house! :D

leila al khatib: Thank you!!! I’ve been looking for a curly low waste routine for SO LONG!!!

Ket Grace: Im using up a couple bottles of packaged shampoo and conditioner then i’m definitely giving this a try because my hair has been sooo finicky lately. I’ve counteracted my hair getting too too dried out by diluting the soap in water but it still gets super oily super quickly. I hope this method or a similar one balances out my hair (it’s still recovering from using baking soda and apple cider vinegar which does NOT work)

Ruby: I’m soooo happy you did this video!! I have long curly hair! And I was thinking about dying it.. I also have dry hair, and I had been using coconut oil! Yikes!!! No wonder it’s been crappy lately :( Also, I have been using Pacifica’s pineapple shampoo and conditioner for curly hair. Which they have a recycling program :) I guess once I’m finished with their products, I’ll try your method! Thanks!!!

Caffeinated Panda: just recently tried bar shampoo and conditioner and I LOVE it. Definitely going to try the olive oil first though because my hair is super dry and frizzy!

Julia Moriah: Your natural curls are to die for they're just perfect!!!

Shawna Sullivan: Once upon a time I had loose curls, then I spent my late teens straightening it and bleaching my naturally almost black hair to fire red. Needless to say the curls left the building after the bleach completely altered my hair structure. Sometimes when my hair is doused in coconut oil they actually come back but it just doesn't moisturize as much anymore and I've never heard anyone mention that olive oil might be a better substitute! I'm definitely going to try olive oil out before my next wash :) Your curls look gorgeous!

Quigli - Tasha Storm: Your hair looks quite lovely in curls! I'm glad you've embraced it too. I have super-straight hair that won't hold a curl for long, no matter what i do, so I can't lie, I'm a little jealous of how great yours look. Grass is always greener on the other side, I guess, right?

TheSilverMoon5: I wish I'd seen this yesterday, I just bought a whole bunch of new silicone free, sulfate free products! I finally finished my old not great for my hair products, and was looking to update my hair routine... ill definitely try this out when I've finished my new products

caramelushca: "moisture keeper-inner" :)) Love your hair! <3 Mine is a frizzy wavy mess, hope I can find something that works soon. Shampoo and deodorant are my ultimate challenges when it comes to natural zero waste beauty :D

smirbelbirbel: I love homemade linseed gel for my curls. It's very moisturising, de-frizzing and curl-defining. Plus zero-waste and vegan. You can use the leftover seeds for musli, bread or smoothies.

Lacie Perrot: Beautiful~ You and your gorgeous curls Embracing and accepting our hair is the most important step to healing it

Frances Jackson: This is amazing!!! I just started using olive oil as a make up remover. I am excited to try it in my hair as well!

Book Book: I would recommend you use a T-shirt. It’s less damaging then a towel and causes less frizz:)

Alana Whelan: Your curly hair is so beautiful! <3 I've always wished I had curly hair, but mine is so fine and straight. I guess I should embrace that as well though (: Great video!!

Christina Our Wood Home: thanks for sharing! I have curly hair as well and even though my care routine is much simpler than it used to be, I can always simplify more! Does the tea serve a purpose besides adding a nice smell?

Julianna O'Neill: This is really helpful. I stopped using heat on my hair after years of blow drying and straightening it but I never thought of hot water too. Do you think it’s bad to wash your hair daily if you have fine hair? Mine tends to get a bit greasy by the end of the day and I haven’t found any solution to it.

Eliza Hoyland: i know this video is old but i’m so grateful in came into my life fellow curly haired girl. THIS IS A SAVIOUR !1!1! thank you, all my love from Australia xxxx

Anna Flávia Leal: Hey! My hair type is very similar to yours so here's a very good tip for frizz: using a regular towel makes it extra frizzy, try to use an old cotton t-shirt to dry it instead! And also, sleeping with a satin pillowcase reeeeally really helps.

Maya Angeline: Finally someone who has curly hair doing a routine! I’m glad I am not alone <3

Celeste Gobbi: I am definitely going to try out this homemade shampoo. My hair gets really damaged when I use "normal" shampoos and I'm literally wasting a ton of money to get those ones with zero chemicals in them. Thank you so much for the video xx

Keyisme: Wow, this is awesome!!! I'm very cynical about switching from regular shampoo to alternative shampoo because big business gets money either way. And all the alt. Diy YouTubers "no poo" had awful looking hair, but yours looks amazing!! I suspected oil would be great for hair, but I was worried if I used oil, people would think I didn't shower. I love that you've figured this out!!

nature woman: From one curly girl to another your hair looks beautiful

June Lawhorn: It is so refreshing to see someone else using olive oil! We use all natural products, which can be expensive, so olive oil is an effective and economical option. I use it during my after shower scrunch as a leave in condition, but I also have thicker hair.

Luna Diaz: This video is great! I'm going to try to not use as much heat on my hair now!

Cathy Lynn Pietranton: I love your curls you're a beautiful woman and I'm glad you're embracing your curls enjoyed the video

Chiara de Kriek: Olive oil is the best! And I am really going to try the shampoo! I've really been craving my natural hair! Thanks for all the amazing tips!

Elen L: I thank you soooo much for doing this video, it is so hard to find someone who has a similar hair type than you and therefore to find actually useful tips. I think especially when talking about low waste tips, because of all the special shampoos for curly hair which are so expensive... So thank you!! I personnally have very curly and very dry hair (but not afro type). I use coconut oil as a mask every night before I wash my hair, and then I use some Furterer products, which are the best I've found so far. They're not low waste but they have no silicone (unless I missed them) and are made from natural ingredients. But they're expensive. This routine have made my curls so much more beautiful and hydrated and shiny and everything. I used to put them up the second day after I washed them because the curls would've turned ugly, they used to be so dry... I am so thankful for the coconut oil which is I think what made the difference. I hope it can help someone. And once again, thank you <3 (for the other videos too!!)

Asmr Ellie :3: THE KIND JOURNEY! She's an African American Low-Waste YouTuber. Thank you for this!

Carol V.: I have a 3b/3c hair and I love to wash my hair with clay and shikakai, for moisturising I use aloe vera gel, coconut milk and olive oil and to style I love homemade flaxseed gel. Great video!!!

Maya Angeline: I have never related to someone more. “When you brush curly hair it gets bigger then the sun” is my anthem

Laura Kleimann: I used to just let my hair dry like that too, though overnight. I know it's a great zero waste alternative to blow drying, but I can only warn anyone that the condensation cools down your head extremely and I've had chronic colds for years with no idea where they came from until a doctor askedabout how I dry my hair and explained. So if anyone struggles with this I recommend either blowdrying with a diffuser or a drying hood I haven't had problems since and once you figure it out, your curls look just as great as before

Heather S: Thank you sooo much, I’ve been looking for curly hair low waste routines everywhere.

Michal Glazer-Eytan: I have curly-wavey hair, it's really coarse and it doesn't absorb oil at all because I have low porosity hair. I'm still figuring out what to use and being low/zero waste... Anyway your hair looks amazing and I'm glad you found a receipe that works for you

Jennifer Marie Rios: Your hair looks great! I'm currently trying to find a zero waste curly hair solution. I think i'll try the green tea and Castile soap trick. thank you! Also, try scrunching your hair with a t-shirt instead of a towel, it helps reduce frizz

Selestine Sophia: Yes! 3C curly girl here also. Color free for nearly 1 year and it’s been easy. My husband also says my natural color/texture is beautifully softer. I’ve been looking for someone sustainable and curly! I like DevaCurl products, their also tough on my wallet and plastic. Thanks! Can you video an update?

Sophia D: i only realized i had curly/wavy hair when i stopped blowdrying - this has really helped get my hair into good health again. i do comb my hair, but i do it at the end of day 2 of not washing my hair. this distributes the oil that has built up on my scalp, and so come days 3 and 4, oil is evenly distributed and my hair still looks pretty clean. and i love this video! i think everyone can see how passionate and happy you are about having your natural hair again - and girl, it looks GORGEOUS! much love from ireland <3

sara oerum: I love this video much, having long and curly hair, and wanting to be zero waste has been a struggle for me. So I'm gonna try the olive oil trick, I guess you could leave the oil in over night and wash it in the morning?

Daisy Wright Collins: "Let's just get straight into the video" why not get CURLY into the video... sorry

rachelle winters: A Shea butter cream and flaxseed gel are what I have been using on my hair. Super cheap to make and my hair loves it

Ashley Hairston Doughty: Love your curls! I’m finding that a little argan oil is really great for my hair in the morning. And I keep meaning to try a DIY curl gel made with flax seeds.

ThermalViolet: You're literally finding a way to do curly girl method waste free lol.... it's amazing :)

Eve Koivula: I'm using macadamia oil now on my hair (ends only) instead of conditioner, leave it in and it works really well. It doesn't leave it oily or heavy at all. It's weird to think that you have dyed your hair - why would anyone with such a gorgeous hair colour do that??

Rocking Reggie: I love your curly hair! It's beautiful! ☺

Katherine Nunes-Siciliani: Just wanted to say your voice is so soothing to listen to, thanks for sharing your routine :)

L: Yassss! I’ve been so looking forward to this video! My hair type is really similar to yours and there is verrry little advice for ZW hair care that I can use. Any tips for keeping it de-tangled between washing? Your curls look awesome!

Athanasia Chyma: aloe vera juice works really well as a moisturizer for me(after shower),sometimes I add just a little bit of coconut oil I started my no poo journey combing with apple cider vinegar but I will definitely try olive oil because my great grandma used it and she had gorgeous curly hair till the end of her life!and ughhhhh I understand how many different combinations of products you tried until you found the right one.I'm still on my way haha also your hair looks absolutely gorgeous and different now, I was shocked xx

Flamingo Williams: Your curls are so lovely! Good for you.

Sophie Lotten: Your hair is geoooorgeous! I have completely straight hair but the ends are so dry! I might try putting olive oil before washing it the next time thank you!

SchrödingersCat: Honestly though your hair looks absolutely stunning. I've got straight hair myself so not necessarily a relevant video but damn girl those curls!!

Meghann Shae: Love those curls! I'd love to see a video about different ways you style your hair.

Heather Hanninen Fairbairn: I love your hair curly! I had curly hair for a couple of years, but, alas, it’s gone back to being bone straight and baby fine. I miss the curls. You’re lucky!!

J Dyer: I love your curls! I have curly hair, but it's straight right at my scalp. I use a curling iron just to put some curl close to my scalp, but not very often. Most of the time I put my hair up because it's so much easier to maintain, but I'd like to wear it down more. Have you ever used a sleeping cap? I think that my biggest trouble is getting the overnight frizz as my curls break up. Spraying them down with water can help, but it can also lead to weird hair.

Valeria Hernández Mojica: I love your natural Hair! It really suits you. As for MY Hair... I've learned to love it too, But let me tell you how hard my hair is.... It gets wavy and darker when It's cold, and straight and lighter when it's hot. And when it rains, it curls up. But no matter the season, the one constant of my hair is how BIG it is (even if I don't brush it). Last year I donated it and ended up with a weird bob. Have you ever seen a mix between a bob and an afro? That was me xD It's not back to the length I want, But at least I can tie it now. For my hair routine I use a local shampoo bar twice a week, and I use olive oil when dry, just on the tips to avoid frizz. Seems to work fine for me :)

Megan: I have wavy-ish hair, but i think with the right amount of moisture, it could get more curly. I'd love to be able to let it air dry and actually look good. I think I'll try more oils... also can't go wrong with a good trim. :)
