THANK YOU to every single one of you for being so supportive and watching my channel, it means more than you will ever know! I truly feel like you are part of my family and for this, I'm so grateful! As a stay-at-home mom of 5 kids, I try to share with you my tips and suggestions to slay your day as a busy mom of a large family. #christygior

DISCLAIMER: I provide my videos for entertainment and promotional purposes only. My videos are created for and targeted towards moms. No videos on this channel are intended for made for children under the age of 18 years.

Hey guys, it's christy in today's video i'm going to be straightening. My girl's hair using the rev air reversed hair dryer. My girls are definitely due for a little bit of a trim and it's perfect timing, since their hair will be stretched out from the hair dryer. I'M not trying to get a perfectly straight. Look, i'm simply trying to stretch their hair so that i can trim it and get it into a protective style for back to school. It'S definitely important to me to make sure my girls feel confident and look good on their first day of school. Now, first of all, if you have seen my hair videos before you know, i'm not a fan of heat, but if i'm going to apply heat, this is how i'm going to apply it with the rev air hair dryer, because it doesn't cause all that extra friction By using a brush and blowing the hair in all these different directions, it's a suction which just suctions their hair down with little to no damage or friction, and it really helps with the frizz and locking in all the moisture and closing up the cuticles. At the same time, and a little tip, if you're going to do all that work, you might as well clean your daughter's hair and make sure it's fully conditioned and detangled before you even get started. I do let it chill and dry on its own in the air for a little bit, because i'm not a fan of towel drying. This makes the drying time go down dramatically now. I do not put any oils because it is damaging to the rev air system. So i just go ahead and put some leave-in conditioner and gently detangle from ends all the way to roots, to make sure that it's nice and detangled before i even put it into the suctioner for all my foster and adoptive mamas out there welcome this. Video is for you welcome to my journey on learning how to take care of my daughter's hair. I hope it inspires you to get going and to learn a little bit more and to go deep and learn about your child's hair. I believe that the black community is the best resource, but my job here is to just kind of spark that interest and get you motivated and hopefully give you some simple tips and tricks. So you can go out and educate yourselves, even more okay. Here we go. I'M really excited to show you how amazing this rev air is. I'M just so happy that it's like little to less damage, and i remember when i would use like a regular blow dryer before i would have to use a brush. At the same time, it was difficult. It was hard on my wrist, it hurt my girl's scalp and it was super damaging. Type 4 hair is so prone to break it. It is very fragile, so the combination of like the high heat with the friction and tension and pulling of the brush was just so damaging. This is a whole new ball game and i'm really excited for you guys to see the end results. Now i have a little bit of experience using the rev air. This is our fourth time using it and i use a different technique on my other daughter. You'Ll see a little bit later on in the video, but for evaya. Her um close to her scalp tends to get a little bit more coily a little bit more curly. A little more stubborn to get straighter. So, by kind of going in a circular motion closer to the scalp helps to make sure that the parts close to her scalp get smooth as well as you can see. I sectioned my daughter's hair into different sections and i'm using about like small to medium-ish section. I feel like this amount of hair works best, i'm just really happy with the results it looks gorgeous. It has a nice straightness to it, but it's very smooth and not frizzy, so how the rev air works. Is it's a suction that suctions the hair down? Instead of a blow dryer that just kind of blows it in every which way and creates that friction and creates that frizz there's like little to no frizz using the rev air, reverse hair dryer. I absolutely love it in case. You guys are wondering this. Video is not sponsored by them; they did gift me this machine, but all opinions. Everything are my own. Make me feel right. I can't help don't be late, say goodbye is okay. Now it's time to lightly dust, her hair, i am not a hair stylist or a professional hair cutter, whatever you call it, but that does not mean i can't maintain my own daughter's hair. It'S really important to dust or lightly cut your daughter's ends every now, and then i do it about every other time. I style their hair, it promotes growth, it helps the dead ends and split ends, just be cut off and it promotes and healthy new growth. I get my cutting shears at sally's beauty supply. They are nice and sharp and work perfectly. I only attempt to dust their hair when it's as straight as possible, and they are a little bit higher up in the chair so that i don't have to bend down and get in a weird angle. So it's as straight as possible! I just do it a little bit section at a time and then i kind of just eyeball it and line it up all together in bigger sections to make sure that it's as good as possible, not only does cutting off the dry ends, help with healthy growth, But it also makes it look neat and tidy and makes it look a lot nicer in the protective style and that's what we're doing it for it's all to prepare to put it into a protective style. So after i'm done trimming it, i'm just gon na go ahead and put it into four fat loose twists to make sure it stays tangle, free and button it up. But then it's ready to go into a protective style. Now it's my other daughter's turn. She is gon na be doing the exact same process, we're just going to kind of hurry through it, so we can get to the dusting of her hair as well. In case, you guys are wondering it takes about i'd, say 30 to 90 seconds, depending on how wet that section of hair is to get it fully dry and it can be used on every hair texture. I use it myself and it works great and it really helps with my frizz, because i have this like problem area in the back that gets really frizzy and it totally tames that section. I know the rev era is going to work wonders for every type of hair texture, because there is a speed control where you can control all the way from zero to nine, and i use about a five on my girl's hair also on the hand-held suctioner. There'S. No heat low heat or high heat, so it'll work for every type of hair. It is pretty heavy and takes up a lot of space and coming out of the box. I was like, oh no, this is really big, but it was very easy to assemble and i have a system of how i store it and honestly, i don't even care how big and bulky it is because of how healthy it is for my girl's hair and It doesn't cause damage, but it is kind of pricey, but if you have multiple heads of hair, i have four girls plus myself that i use it on. It'S definitely going to be a good investment. I did ask redvar if they could give me a promo code that i can give to you guys and go ahead and put it here, but i love it and it really does help me on those wash days when i need to stretch it and get it Into a protective style, so thanks guys so much for watching make sure you subscribe. If you want to get some more hair tips and ideas and follow us along on instagram, i cannot wait to see you in the next one bye, guys

Kennedy Cymone: I lovee watching your videos with you and all the babies, I hope to be a great mommy like you one day!

Robin Rouse: You really educated yourself about black hair care and it shows! You do a great job!

Breaking The Culture Of SILENCE: As a previous foster kid this is just everything to me . Thank you for being a parent who cares

Me'Sa Dyani: Their hair has grown so much since the last time I watched a video! They're so lucky to have a momma that cares enough to take on the task of black hair care. Everything you're doing is exactly what all parents of black children should be doing.

girlnextdoor0703: I love seeing her smiling face. No matter your color, women taking care of women is what it’s about, and women taking care of future women is extra special.

brownmommylife: I always just want to hug you and say thank you from one mother of a beautiful black daughter to another mother of beautiful black daughters! If you ever doubt yourself or if anyone tries to make you feel less than in being their mother just know that you are doing the right thing and keep on going!

Rita H: This Mom is so amazing about educating herself about different hair. Im impressed every time I watch her videos.

Roxy Edwards: I really love how Christy spend time on their hair and treat it with such patience and care I salute you

Low Lectin Living: Christy I am not an adoptive or foster mom I am learning how to take care of my own kids hair. Both my girls hair have grown since I started learning how to properly take care of their hair and your channel was one that popped up when I did a search for taking care of type 4 hair. Thank you!

Deandra Stevenson: I am so impressed with how much research you’ve done to keep your daughters hair healthy and beautiful! Great job mama!

JacQuaye: You give me confidence that I can do my daughter’s hair ! Such a beautiful channel and family! Love your content. You’re doing a great job mama!

Deshawnda C: I just love you for being all in for your African American daughters. As an African American woman, I am soo proud and trust these girls are in great hands. I will be a forever subscriber.

Zakiya LeGrande Rodriguez: Your channel should be a requirement for non black people fostering or adopting black children. I have personally witnessed white mama's hacking off or absolutely neglecting and adding a headband to their black daughter's hair. You're doing a fantastic job caring and nurturing their hair. I appreciate you directing your audience to seek more education from the black community ❤

Renee Bishop: Wow!!!! Christy the way you take such great care of your daughters hair, never ceases to amaze me. Look at how healthy and long Avaya's hair is getting, I meannnnn you rock mama, you're really a model for other mamas to look up to caring for the girls hair

Something Worth Seeing: I love how much care and dedication you put in all your children Christy! ❤️❤️❤️

JazzieLaQueen | Budgeting & More : Your girls’ hair is long and beautiful! Great job mama!!!

Aliyah Lashae: Yess their hair has grown so much. Thank you for making them feel beautiful in their natural state

Phyllissa Bilal: Okay I’m officially going to give you the “Big Mama” title. Natural hair care is no joke. Glad you took the time to master our hair. That is dedication.

MSTREMYRAH: That’s it I’m convinced Christy was an old school black woman in another life. Christy my stylist uses this on my hair ❤️

thatlovelydancer Lao: I appreciate how you didn't just adopt these beautiful black babies but took the time to learn how to take care of their hair. You truly care and it shows

L JC: You do such an amazing job caring for their hair. It’s growing it strong and healthy and beautiful!

Cait Irwin: All these uplifting comments from mother's of black daughters are making me cry. It's so special to love, give love to all. Bless you and all the foster families that keep their children attached to their roots.

Greatest Of These is Love: I am so inspired by the level of dedication and patience you put into understanding your daughter’s hair! You’re such an amazing mom!

Khadijah Cisse: You give us mamas a lot to strove for, Christy, with all of your routines. Definitely getting a repair. This is the first I've seen of it

carol curotto: Great video ! Your babies hair looks so healthy ! I’ve been caring for my 8 year old granddaughters hair - I have her thru adoption also ! I’ve gained so much info over the past years watching your videos and now Vanessa is loving her hair . Prior to being with me - when she Wld just visit - she hated her hair and would cry begging me to “give her my kind of hair” (straight hair) . But now she embraces her hair (and her gorgeous skin!) I looked at Amazon for this product and wow you couldn’t be more correct, it’s expensive!! I’ve been homeschooling Vanessa and took an early retirement so I can be home and give her all the emotional support she so needs . But I think I will save a little here and there and hopefully purchase this at Christmas time or soon after for her 9th birthday!! Thank you SO much for reviewing this - I would not have ever considered such a big purchase without this video !! Much love to you and your beautiful family!!!

Gabriela Nunes: Their hair are just sooooo beautiful and healthy!! You’re doing such a great job!

BOITSHEPO bboity: She is such a great mother and wife. I love her so much

Indigo Pulchritudinous 👸🏽: I wanted to buy this for my daughter’s hair but I wasn’t sure if this would work for her. I’m glad to know it would being she has 3/B, 4/A hair would save me at least an hour drying her hair. I just trim her hair when it’s wet because I can see the frizzy ends better rather than it’s dry.

S B: Well done, Christy! I entered the system at 9 and eventually aged out of foster care. I'm 31. One of my foster moms, a white woman, though is an amazing person and didn't make me feel any different than the other kids, she didn't do my hair, teach me about black history, or the reality of racism I'd experience professionally and personally. Out of all of the homes I lived in, her home was the best, yet as I watch your channel, it takes me down memory lane to think about the what-ifs. Hopefully your kids receive balanced care that'll equip them for the real world. God bless

CarolynA Kirk: Christy Gior, honey you are magnificent! We know there's a misunderstanding when it comes to African American hair, with you explaining it so well. I hope that many who follow you who has children with curly coiled hair become aware that hair is basically treated the same, with different techniques to take care of coiled hair. You are a blessing to people who don't know how to take care of any other types of hair.

Anna Reider-Horváth: The joy on your daughter's face when you do her hair is everything

Jasmine Traylor-Bell: You are so informative. The care and patience you take with your daughter's hair is immense. I can't tell you how refreshing it is see an adoptive parent taking the time to become educated on the best methods to care for their child's hair.

vanessa beckom: You Rock, because of the love you have for the “Human, Race” you go that extra mile. For all those who have a adopted child of a different “Culture” you cannot just sit back and say “I don’t know what to do about their hair” . She is doing what any mother of the human race who TrueType loves her child would do. Our hair is very versatile. Yes!!!!, I live for it!!

Nica W: I love her videos! It’s obvious that she really love her girls, and understands the complexity of Afro hair. Bravo!!!!

jazzzymon: I really think it’s so cool that you do everything to their hair from styling to cutting!

Elle Cook: Couldn't get over the length of Eliyah's hair! Gorgeous, both girls have amazing hair.

Tina Thomas: Just beautiful! Hair, Relationship breaking faux racial barriers that TRY to separate us.

Brtte Jacqueline: The care you put into educating yourself on black hair is beautiful. This bring joyful tears to my eyes you are raising beautiful black girls to be proud of their natural hair. Yes momma keep educating others moms. This made my day

Tay RioBravo: Love seeing your videos! I wish more parents with adopted children with curly / course hair textures watched your channel. All thumbs up!! This being said I have two biracial bio kids with two different hair textures and I’m still learning what works for them. Keep up the great work.

Maria Elliott: Lady, you handle the hair like you know what you’re doing. I’m so proud of you. I’m not sure why her hair is still stiff after that beautiful suction drying?? But you are fabulous!

Jay Marie: I absolutely love the expression your 1st daughter(I don't want to spell her name wrong) had when her came out straight. Also want to thank you for educating yourself on our hair and taking the time to love on their hair and teaching them to love their hair also.

MsXBrittttttt: This is so beautiful. I love that these young ladies have a mother who cares to learn the best way to take care of them and their hair!! Simply lovely. Thanks for sharing

stephanie lagares: Love how dedicatedyou are to doing their hair, although in my experience as a child I hated getting my hair done because my parents yanked the hair off my head, and that process hurt. I found being gentle and taking your time increases the child's satisfaction.

LiV’n Life: It’s funny to still see people so shocked about you doing the girls hair. Like yesss this is Christy. She knows what’s up and could educate many.

Shiloh Ivy: My mom was a stylist when I was growing up and this is such a positive bonding experience. My mom was very happy to have a little girl to dress up.

Rolande Beaujean: You're really a great mom; love the way you raise your kids, congrats!

Au'DHD Creativity: Love your videos ♡ my daughter has 4C curls and I don't, so I appreciate all the tips you share! They have helped me have confidence to do cute styles and my daughter loves how much less time it takes to do hair and that her scalp has way less pain from detangling, all from shared tips from you and other moms on YouTube ♡

Abi: No kids yet but your videos inspired me to learn how to take care of my hair (I’m black and didn’t know how) so I can be ready for when I have a daughter. Thank you for the inspiration, you’re doing a lovely job and I am inspired!!

ri • dakted real: Their hair is soooo healthy. Watching these are so satisfying.‍♀️

A_Noelle: Just one tip for everyone using the RevAir: they recommend not doing the pumping/up-down motion while the hair is in the wand. Move it aling the scalp to ensure the base of your section is getting dried, but avoid the back and forth motion over the shaft of the hair.

KW 💕 💞: I Love how you learned the Science of Black hair.. You're a pure Heart

Danyelle Jones: Thank you for doing this video. Some hairstylists aren't even this comfortable doing different hair textures.

TRUST NONE TRuST GOD: The look on her face when her hair Came out the dryer .. Priceless You Go Christy The fact that u research and find the best products and solutions for hair care is phenomenal Great Job

DanaMaria: My biracial son has decided to grow his hair out. It’s a lot more work now but I’m learning. Love your videos.

Valerie A.: Loveee this. You're such a great mama! Thank you for showing our black hair the love and care it needs. Your kids will grow up loving their hair and embracing it!

Jupiter's corner: I feel the love you have for your daughter. This is beautiful ❤️

Leann Wade: Their hair has really grown so much and so HEALTHY! Great job mom!

Miss Mahinay: I love this! My mother is Filipino and growing up, she had nooo idea on what to do with my hair (I’m half black). YouTube can such a wonderful place.

Nari Osei: Nice job Christy! I’d just recommend much smaller sections for trimming and cross-checking your sections. Otherwise, you risk trimming way too much in some areas and not enough in others. Not a beautician, but I worked in a salon all through college and learned some things from them :)

Katrina Stubbs: Christy I love how you give so much love, care and gentleness for their hair. You are AWESOME.

Van W: Blessings to you for loving your girls and making the effort to see beauty in them for who they are and not who society thinks they should be!

Denny Guy: That's beautiful I'm impressed, thank you for educating others. I remember as a child how my mother would take care of me and my two sister's hair. It was a full-time chore for her and she couldn't wait until we got into our preteens, so that we could do our own hair. What she didn't understand was that, black hair was hard to do not only for adults but for a child. And to follow all of the steps to keep our hair soft and moist, was a challenge back then in the 70's and 80's. Not because we didn't have all of the products that we needed, because we did. What we needed in our homes was a family member who had their PHD in African American hair care. My mom did her best to teach us, but she missed the most important steps, which was to sprits the hair with water and to seal and lock the hair with an oil base product to keep the moisture locked in. So thank you for educating those of us who are missing certain steps when it comes to hair care.

LaTriceBee: You do such a great job keeping their hair healthy! ❤️❤️❤️

Michelle G: Revair was the best thing to happen to my 4C hair! So cool to see other curly haired girls using it too

JS Backstage: Lovely mother, gorgeous daughter's, cherished moments ❤ Great job mom ♥️

Dian Michaelis: I don't even have kids and I love watching these videos because they are so nurturing and positively affirming. I also never knew how much work goes into black hair and I have so much respect for the amount of effort this takes. Love your channel!

Candi: Hi Christy, you are such an inspiration.❤❤❤ Hair is a big part of the black community which most have not mastered. Your knowledge and education for our hair, just speaks the magnitude of your Love for our hair, and our people.

Imjusfine: Interesting hair tool, suctioning the hair down, helps close the hair shaft and lock in moisture as well as achieving a sleek look. Course hair should be at least 50% dry before applying heat to stretch hair. I noticed the pull and grip before cutting ends. If you pull and hold tightly you will cut off more length than intended. Yes I am a cosmetologist that works with natural hair as well. I may have to try that tool!

GoodEats WithLee: I absolutely adore the love you have for your family. It really awesome!

Rkeba Davis33: Awesome job!! Love how you have taken the time to realize that black hair is not all the same... Good job and your babies are all beautiful!

keia38: I applaud you mom for being so caring and loving in every way. To ensure that you are giving your daughters the best care ❤️

Loretta Stephens: That is so cool! Your daughter’s hair came out so beautiful! Well done!

motherof two: I love the fact you made it your business to learn about your daughter's hair. But as I can see it, it doesn't matter if its your biological, daughter or not. You as their mom, you're going to learn it to me it before them and yourself. Don't ever stop your journey with all your children. We need more parents like you and your hubby. Do you guys have a p.o box?

A.T.: My baby girl comes to your page to give me ideas! I love it, great job!!

loc'd&deeplyrooted peace: You are truly an awesome lady and awesome mom just an awesome human being. Thank you for having the courage and the education to take on this journey with some awesome kids. Such a beautiful family you and your husband have.. . God knows which angels He has to do His good works.....

Brittany: I'm a foster/ adoptive mom and I am going to share this with my friends who are great moms.! They are always asking me for help because they have beautiful African American princesses that have hair that is very different from their own. You have inspired me. I had a mom who only put me in 2 different hairstyles so now I always try to learn different ways of making my 2 ( adopted) princesses glow .

Ale Mesa: your videos are just so pleasant to watch! I love the curly hair knowledge you spread <3

Rasheeda: Great Job Mom ! Her hair is beautiful and long

Kayla Rivera: Your daughters natural hair is absolutely. Beautiful! U can see how healthy it is such amazing curls

Whitney Denton: My husband and I hope to foster and adopt one day. Your videos are so great. Thank you for being a good source of info.

Brenda Brown: You are a awesome mom, I love how you take care your children hair. We love you! Adoption is love!❤️

SN Ford: Oh the love a mother must have when you see the effort and results.... As Such! Her hair looks amazing. Trims! Much love beautiful family. And let’s talk about that tool you’re using. That is absolutely my next purchase! Oh yes !!!!

Elles Pearls: Their hair looks so nice and healthy! If I may offer one bit of advice, when you do the trim don't raise their hair outward or upward, pull it straight down and cut with your hand touching, or close to, their back. You'll get a much straighter cut which they're texture needs, especially for styling purposes.

Ariel Bazley: Yesssssss mama!!!! Thank you being this educated on their hair it means everything

Ajadoen Ruffin: She's so adorable and when she saw her hair straighten she was so happy ✨

Indrishah Dorval: Thank you for taking care of her hair doing it in the right way without damaging it ❤️

Mary Mary: I love this. Not only are you doing their hair...but this creates memories and mommy and me time❤

nova: im just happy to see people doing kids’ hair. adoptive or not. they don’t seem to dread doing their hair. these kids will appreciate it so much when they’re older.

Roe Lashay: I love your love and desire to be the best parent for those girls. As a previous adoptive child, I know parenting and love has NO color. You are a blessing! ❤

Heaven's Queen 👑: Love watching you take care of your babies. Is awesome how you take the time to learn and you do your best I see...❤️ Kudos to you and I will be finding this blow dryer for my own hair

collywoowoo: I’ve been waiting to see how you feel about the revair before ordering one for our kiddos! Thanks christy!

Tha 1 Gurl: Thanks for taking the time to learn about black hair. It’s shows and you did a WONDERFUL job you can tell by the smile on her face and yessssss moisturizering is the key. I’m so proud as I watch this video. Again you did and outstanding job mom.

Jamia Brown: This was very helpful thank you so much. They are so cute ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
