I was not expecting this Wow. What'S up that I'm actually needing to wash my hair. We'Ve got some crustaceans going on here, but this is a washing of the usual suspects. I want to try to see if I could find any products at the dollar store. Actual hair products are super expensive. Not everyone can afford them. Everyone has a dollar store right, so I actually wanted to see not only for myself if these products work just go curious, but you know it might be a nice solution for college kids, or you know, people who are just looking to not spend as much money. If it works not gon na lie, I'm a little bit nervous. You know it took me a long time to get my hair to help me. I want anything messing up my hair and if these products are a dollar each I'm just kind of imagining like the craziness, that's gon na be inside these bottles, but I don't know, maybe I'm just freaking out for nothing. Maybe they've got great products there and we just don't know about it nervous all right, let's go alright, so I found the shampoo and conditioner aisle and they have pretty good selection right away. I'M attracted to this section here. I think it's probably the color palette the daily defense line. We also have a lion under here. It'S called Pro formula. These vo5 aren't really looking very attractive to me, but I'll look in that to look. It'S called monkey conquer Joe. What do you think? That'S supposed to be it's the exact same container. Look at this, that's crazy! So it's comparable to the performance of gorillas. Nigel sodium lauryl sulfate will have to some sulfates. Let'S just give it a try and see how it works. It'S not easy finding something that has safe ingredients here, so Italy, gon na, have to pop rise, find something okay, so I'm back from the dollar store if you've got all of the items - and I have to say I am thoroughly exhausted. Reading ingredients is not my idea of a good time. I had to read every single bottle in that place. I spent a total of five dollars and 31 cents. I came back with five products and a cookie which I ate in the car from Panera. That'S not part of the budget, though I'm just really hungry. It went with the vo5 dry scalp line, something because I could read most of the ingredients that have like the vitamin b5. It had biotin vitamin E. He had sweet almond oil as other ingredients, it that I'm probably not going to like. I think the fact that these are all from the dollar store is kind of like psyching me out, like, oh, my god. I'M scared. It'S gon na make my hair fall out, but I have totally used products from like other grocery stores and other places that weren't all natural ingredients. So I think it's just because it's from the dollar store in a closet dollar. That'S freaking me out, so I'm gon na try not to be bougie and just give these products a fair chance and not psych myself out, because it's not that serious. The only thing about this product is that it does have pure coconut oil in it, which you guys know I've been trying to avoid, but I still pick this item to use. I know a lot of you guys use coconut oil and the ingredients list looks okay, so I figure this is probably the line that you guys would. You know go for, especially like college kids, so I figured you know. This is the one that I should probably use, so we have our shampoo and conditioner, then for a deep conditioner we're going to do the salon. Selective'S, there's nothing about this conditioner that was special. The ingredients list is not amazing. The other one had coconut oil in it with these shampoos and conditioner just kind of putting it on and like rinsing it off. I didn't want coconut oil to like sit in my hair. They really only had two deep conditioner options, so I chose the one about the coconut oil and then I have a detangler. I saw a kids detangler, which was really the closest thing I could find to a leave-in to has better ammonium sulfate, which I know is going to leave my hair super soft. It says that you don't have to rinse it off, so I liked that I didn't feel safe using like another conditioner zhelemie, I'm just because I don't know, products are freaking me out salad or meal, I'm admitting it. I'M extra and the molesting of Wanda Chaya was the monkey, so I'm thinking, I'm probably, is that for my edges. Oh my God. Look, oh oh, has this terrible strong grape scent? Oh smells? Oh, it smells kind of yummy actually sounds like a jolly. When you put your nose in it, it smells kind of good, actually we're gon na give. All of these a dollar store, treats a try and I will meet you in the shower so super moisture. Anything as I was putting it on, but as I rinse it is definitely squeaky clean dry. I mean I feel clean, which is good well, let's just hope that this conditioner will put some of that moisture back in so far so good reminds me, Michelle did something. Is wrong with the way and why why why? Why? Because I live, something is wrong with the way through, because I do he's a lot of it they're just coming out, but coming out, I must do it to get to the day: eat [, __ ], this weightless conditioning works. I got a Dalek condition that it works good and Wow just washed conditioned any tangles, my hair, using my fingers and I'm going to deep condition I using the salon, selective's argan oil, hair treatment, okay, that doesn't smell good at all. It smells like it smells like it has a tinge of creamy crack up. Please do not relax the softer condition and you guys can see that coils are defined. So I'd say it did a pretty good job I want to do now. Is I'm going to just take my detangler bring out a whole intersection, oh yeah, and then all I'm gon na do is just twist the hair up and it will have to do so much our rapid advance with us. I just go out the shower yeah. It looks pretty good. It feels pretty good, just gon na wrap the twist around my head, like I normally do and then we're gon na. Let them air dry overnight, also gon na spray. The ends of my twists just to make sure that they're, nice and moisturize, I thought I had scarf on my hair - is wet because if my hair is frizzy just putting this satin scarf on it kind of just flattens everything, it makes it nice and smooth. So I'll probably change my headscarf before I go to sleep but putting this on for now, I'm gon na, let it air dry overnight and then Oh it'll come back in the morning, so here it's actually been setting for two days. I went to go check it out yesterday and it was still wet, which is a good sign. The moisture was still there, so we're gon na take it out today and we're gon na see what we have what's a good dollar store. I was gon na see if you back up my hair feels pretty good smells, really good hot. It'S so soft, it's so soft! I am I'm shocked. I am. I am quite shocked. Look at this hair. You guys! Oh my god, look! Okay. So it is a little frizzy. I still think it's a little damp. It'S not completely dry. So maybe that's where the phrase is coming from, but it feels pretty darn good, hey, LuAnn crap, I am deceased, call Felipe call my mom. Let them know officially kick the bucket due to the dollar story. I oh, this is crazy. Okay, seriously, definitely Sh more shrunken than usual, but I think that's just cuz. It probably could have used another day to dry wow. I'M shocked, oh, my goodness. What in the world bro this is for real, like are you for real Reno? Oh, my goodness, I'm! Actually. I was not expecting this. You guys a dollar store. The dollar store. Did this Wow Wow? Okay! This is incredible. My scalp is a little itchy, but it's fine, but my hair is so voluminous. It looks so I mean you guys. I don't really have to describe. You can see it for yourself. Does this not look better than some high-end products that are out there? Like high-end natural hair products, this is the best example of do not judge a book by it's cover right, because I am completely eating my words. I thought that this was gon na end up terrible and it's the exact opposite girl. Do I need to shop at the dollar store more often like wow? If you don't care about natural ingredients, the dollar store the dollars kind of lick, I'm just sayin. The dollar store is candle lit. Let'S talk about the products. Shampoo felt really good going on the issue came when I rinsed it out, so you definitely got that like squeaky clean. If you touch me again, I'm about to knot up and break right off your scalp feeling. But besides that I mean a dollar. I think I used about a quarter of the container conditioner. This was pretty good too, and it was a detangling conditioner. While it was on it moisturized it detangled super well when they rinse it off. My hair was definitely softer than when I had the shampoo on. Is it the best conditioner that I've ever used? Obviously, no, it is not the best shampoo I've ever used either for a dollar. It'S a pretty darn good. Next, let's talk about this deep conditioner. I think I actually did this deep conditioner some favors, because there shouldn't me to leave this on for three minutes. No three minutes is not gon na. Do anything for my hair, so I left it on for an hour like I do. All my conditioners will put a plastic cap on when I rinse it off. My hair definitely felt softer than when I had the conditioner on, so it's definitely doing its job. One thing I will say is, as I sat there for an hour, my eyes started to tear up like I could feel tingling and, like my eyes is almost chemicals were getting into my eyes. I don't enjoy the smell of this, it's kind of scary. It reminds me of a relaxer, it did not relax my hair, but I just don't like that chemical smell, the only research was again was because it did not have coconut oil in it, and I just didn't want coconut oil sitting in my hair for that long. In fact, myself actually does feel a little itchy right now, just from having these prized to have coconut in it, I'm assuming it could be, the coconut oil could be the other chemicals. I don't know my scalp definitely feels itchy, so it will be doing an apple, cider, vinegar, rinse, just to make sure all of this is off of my scalp when I rinse it out. But again, if you don't have a sensitivity to hook it on it, it won't be a problem for you. I will say it worked. I didn't use a lot of it. There'S like more than half the container left, so a dollar it works doesn't smell great. I think that this is probably the hero product of all of this. Obviously the leaving is what's leaving my hair super duper, soft and voluminous. I wish that I had a styling product to use, but this actually worked really well using a ton of this was really nice and probably helped me get my nice ends here, so they weren't super dry like if you're my bright spring. My ends look really good. I use almost the entire bottle, but it was again a dollar for seven ounces, you're, a college kid if you are stranded in some strange city or town and all you have is a dollar store. These items will work for you. I was actually going to try this on my edges. I'M not gon na. Do that. Maybe I'll do that in another video and just compare it straight with the girl. If you want me to do that, let me know final thoughts. I think I think you know this is an awesome experiment. The dollar stores lit that my hair is nice and soft. I think that by the end of the day, I'm probably gon na lose some of this moisture, obviously not sure of the ingredients, but for a dollar these are a steal. I hope you guys enjoyed this video. I sacrificed my scalp for y'all. I used coconut oil for y'all, I'm about to put some apple, cider vinegar on there some a couple days. Let me see how long it's gon na last hmmm, we'll see. I'M shocked, hope you guys enjoyed this video leave me a comment and let me know what you thought and I will see you in the next one: hey guys. Okay, sorry, I do have one more thing I want to share. I decided to go outside and take the photo in this, but you're still looking amazing look at this so much volume across still there it's pretty dry by now. I did want to mention that my head is on fire, it just so much so there's that I think it might just be the coconut oil, but I'm not sure - and the other thing too is that this entire look cost four dollars because we didn't use this. So subtract a dollar and it total is four dollars. So alright, you

Naptural85: ps. I learned about the "natural hair line" AFTER trying this one!! My local Dollar Store didn't have it, but I'm down for the hunt! Do you guys want me to try it out too!? Thumbs up if so! Xo!! ❤️

Mary Watkins: Girl, I remember when us naturals grew out our hair with Blue Magic, Pink Lotion and cornrows. And we did fine.

shay dominique: I work at a dollar tree and a woman brought these exact same items and I knew she had watched your video lmfaoo

Travel Girl: A few yrs ago, when I discovered that Salon Selectives deep conditioner in a pink jar and tried it on my fine 4c hair, it was so good, I couldn't believe it. I went back and bought about 15 jars just in case it went out of stock. Since then, I realized "natural products" marketed to black women are just ripoffs. I use Auzzie moist conditioner which costs $3 at any store. We've been conned into believing that we need to spend 5x more than white women because our hair is supposedly special and needs expensive products. It doesn't.

Pretty Perfect: Dollar tree hair products are mostly water. Don’t be fooled into thinking it’s cheap so it must have a bunch of damaging ingredients lol It’s the opposite. Also the softee mango butter from DT is a staple for my twist outs. Smells amazing, very few ingredients and works really well with grape seed oil and gel for my 4c hair.

Edith Spencer: Former biochemist here! @1:34 Methylisothiazolinone is a biocide used in A LOT of shampoos and conditioners so that they don't grow mold. It can be sensitizing- meaning it can do damage to eye and mucus membranes. It is seen as relatively safe for human topical applications that involve being rinsed off, like shampoo. But better anti-microbials are out there and are used...in more expensive products.

stephanie vx: The green kiwi conditioner is the one that moisturizes and leaves hair really soft out of all of them idk if it has different ingredients or what but it's the best and really cheap

Watchwoman 65: See. Thats a perfect example that you dont need to pay 15 dollars for a shampoo or conditioner. Cheap products work just as good, if not better, than that high end dollar bottle of shampoo

Karen Tyas: I found this video after googling “best shampoo at dollar tree” because I’m broke as a joke right now and out of my normal goods, but didn’t want to end up bald lol Awesome reviews and you were cracking me up!

TheWinglessHawk: Tipp: Look up the companies who made these products. There are big companies out there who also sell their good products under a cheaper label, so they can get even money from every kind of people. Not only rich, but also less rich people... that is economics. For Image reasons they will take up another branding name, but when you google the producer who made the products (is written on the bottles somewhere with probably an address) the chances are high that it is one of these big companies.

CandyGirlLoddy: I’ve BEEN doing this! My hair gets really dirty, so I want everything out of it. I use Suave shampoo & Suave or VO5 conditioner. I do mix honey with the conditioner. My hair grows like crazy & people are always asking what I use. They’re surprised when I tell them.

Joy Adwoa: I have used VO5 for a while, and it was *amazing* on my hair. I am using Suave rn, and I works really well on my hair too! Both dirt cheap and ultimately helpful on my hair. Also, I haven't always been really that picky when it comes to the ingredients. I just use whatever that is giving me good long term results and doesn't have any ingredients that I know FOR SURE wouldn't damage my hair. (And being a student too, I can't be throwing my coin at expensive behind natural hair products too lol)

nnaturalheaven *: I really missed the VO5 conditioner that had shea butter in it, it was called I think Shea Cashmere, I used to love that one! I grew my daughters hair down her back from a child till HS Graduation with lusters pink oil moisturizer and lets jam, never had a relaxer her whole life. All her life people commented on her beautiful long hair, Soon as I introduced her to all the new natural hair products for black women, and the curly girl methods and similar regimens... mostly ALL her hair fell out, she starting over with short hair like she did a literal BC. She still has never had a relaxer but Im realizing its best to stay with whats been working and I'll just use those products because I grew mine out with them. Makes me wonder if you must stick to what you grew your hair out with, like the keratin/hair seems to depend on it.

Chelsea James: I use VO5 all the time , it's actually really moisturizing

A S: Vo5 is old school!!!! Ain't nuthing wrong with vo5 its a good product....my mom use to buy it when i wad a little kid it was popular

The Life Of Chloe: I use the deep conditioner in the pink container and it helped my hair. My hair got matted up after being in a loose braid for a couple days and the conditioner helped to revive my hair!

Pure Estrogen: I remember using dollar store products back when I was relaxed. I need to go back! Your hair looks yummy!

Tronesia Thomas: Your reactions are priceless. I love that I can now be on vacation or low on cash and know I have options if I need it. Thank you always for your honesty.

nitpickle - Allicia B-Lee: It's all about branding. You can actually find a lot of good brands hidden under other labels at Dollar Tree. I read up about the quality of dollar tree stuff and found that out. That's why they stay in business. Shop there more!

Queen Toshe: I absolutely LOVE that you are wearing the slight grey in the front! I am too!! yeassss, its LOVELY!! Like a QUEEN!! Wow!! Excellent results!! Your hair is poppin'!! Give us a update on how long it lasted!

Jasmin Craighead: I LIVE! you’re so beautiful and funny, thank you for lighting up my day and showcasing some affordable products that aren’t too shabby! 5 bucks? Yes ma’am!

Shonte Moses: The grey strand looks pretty in your hair.

Jordan Allen: I use the salon selective as my leave in and it works so good with detangling my hair and with using it I don't need to add any oil in my hair. And it defines my curls really well.

RikaStinka: My grandma used V05 on my hair, its good and their conditioners are silicone free. The moisture milks and tea therapy ones are lit, and the clarifying one makes a good cowash! Dont sleeeep

Amanda Navarro: I use all of these products! I remember straightening my hair for the first time after using these, and it felt like silk! Although if I had to state one downside to these products, it tends to make my hair oily within a few days (which usually took a long time for that to happen before I started using these products).

MarieAnnMarie: I use V05! Because I go through conditioner faster. I like their coconut one the best. And I use $1 store gel.

Are Sol: I CAN afford natural hair products but I just don't want to spend so much. So I've been using threseme curl hydration and I like it :)

Donika Veseli: You inspired me to go completely natural!I have cut my long hair cause it was burnt from curling and straightening. Now my hair is healthier and is slowly growing!!

3XsthaLady: That moment when the Dollar store makes you reevaluate your whole life. LOL

VaughnAllyse: Loooove this tutorial. I’ve been trying to find inspiration because I’m natural but have no clue what to do with my hair. Love that you used dollar store products and you’re so funny lol

Halima Odom: Missed you. You totally read my mind. Tired of my expensive product addiction. Thank you for sacrificing and enduring discomfort to provide us with cost effective alternatives! ❤️

angela smith: I was legit at the Dollar Tree this morning and I told my bf the other day I needed shampoo and conditioner and he said today “you want your hair stuff now?” And I totally turned my nose up at him, and now I’m wishing I had because your hair looks amazing!!!!

NJoiMe1: I love V05 as my back-up shampoo. My mom used that on my hair back in the 70s. I even liked their hair grease. I don't use their shampoo anymore but I do mix their conditioner with water and spray it in as a leave in. It works. My hair is fine and it makes it thicker and fluffy. (When I do wear my own hair out.)

lonniebelle: i just recently tried the vo5 dry scalp and i LOVED it! i usually like to use the aussie shampoo and conditioner (around $2.50-$3.00) and it was almost as good as that. ..almost

Lorette: Your reaction on the final results was simply adorable. I to am a dollar tree fan and love to shop there, I come back home with bags full of all my favorite things with so little money spent. I think you are left with a itchy scalp because you had used a hell lot of each product in a single wash.

Queen Toshe: I love the dollar store!! I been using their products! Shoot save some money & still get great results!! I use both cheaper & mid priced!! Vo5 is what alot of naturals started on before the higher priced stuff came out!! Further more many Native Americans & Africans used & still use natural oils, berries & such!

Ashley Murphy: Girl! You are hilarious :D I totally understood your reluctance to use products found at the Dollar Tree. I will say this, though. I tried the Daily Defense conditioner a week ago, and I am hooked! It’s super conditioning for me, a 4c girl. The slip is ah-may-zing, and I had zero problems with de tangling. I’m going back for the shampoo today! Keep sharing your light ❤️

Courtney Nelson: V05 and Salon Selectives are not really "dollar store" products. These are products that have lost their popularity to the next generation products.

Neshia 4: I just love you! Your reactions to the products had me on my front porch laughing out loud—neighbors were walking by looking at me!... You’re awesome!

RTAI: "The Dollar Store is kinda LIT!" LOL I completely agree with you. Your hair looks so plush and juicy. I have the exact same hair texture as you and just purchased some conditioner and moisturizer from there on a whim and I too was like WHOA! Needless to say, I ordered in bulk at their online site the same night. It'll take a week before I can pick my order up at the store, but I'll be set for at least a year ($20 total). I'll also make a couple of more orders later to make sure I'm really good b/c I hate when I find the perfect products and *poof* they're discontinued. Not today, satan, not today. Thank you so much for your hair videos. I LOVE all of your vids, including the family vids with your hubby, Oya and Theodorable LOL

Nightdominia: Those are a lot of brands I used on my hair as a kid back in the 80s and they worked on my waist-length mane back then. I can tell you the Salon Selective brand used to have an awesome apple scent. It might've been done away with though since everyone wants the more natural fragrances now. I, personally, liked smelling like a green Jolly Rancher.

Jéssica Jesus: i really love to watch your videos and this turned out so good! Also, i'm quite sure that the itchiness you experienced was for having your hair damp for 2 days, this happens to me whenever i'm unnable to dry my hair throughly, and it will happen in any other part of your body if it is kept humid for a long time due to bacteria or even fungi. hope this helps.

Terri Jones: When she gets you so hype now you wanna go to the dollar tree!! I love this whit

Ly Bo: I used to be a product junkie spending hundreds dollars per month just for my hair... Then I started to use basic product from cheap store, but it didn't go well with my hair... Now I am using only 4 products in my routine : Moroccan clay, henna, castor oil and aloe vera. Period. Plus where I am from, it's cheap...

IAMTwinkie Byrd: You are Hilarious and I love it!! I just love the energy!! Thank you for trying this for all of us. I truly appreciate you. btw: The flaxseed Gel is my next BIG THING!!! Cant wait to Try it!

SYDNEY: This braidout took her hair from a 4a to 3b hair, love it!

bellaaa: your hair looks so good! i really didnt expect that from such inexpensive products, im happy they worked because now im gonna go try some $1 conditioner!

Living life with Tiara Renee: Growing up vo5 products were the only ones my mom used on my hair. I’ve used the daily defense conditioner on myself and my daughter during the summer as a cowash. The products work well for us.

Ihold8stars: Yesss!!! Ty so much for testing for us!!! I love your curls :) I bought that coco shampoo & conditioner you had picked up and looked at in the store.. You totally dodged a bullet! My daughter tried it and her hair was sticky it felt like glue in her curls. We also tried that purple bottle.. the big one.. that looks like a good deal.. nope oops no lol it was not even conditioner it did nothing. Going to try that V05 tomorrow :) my favorite go to curl is the Eden coconut but it adds up sometimes we just can't get what we want <3

Saundra T.: New Subbie on board...Your reaction had me floored to the ceiling. I am the same way when a product works for my hair!! Keep the positive vibes sailing

eyeofeye: I just started watching these hair vids and yours are among my favorites. Your hair is amazing and the homemade product is well researched . Congrats on a great channel.

Perma Frost: I'm one minute in and i'm having heart palpitations lol! Dollar Tree is my favorite Dollar store of all the places I've lived and I have definitely been drawn to the hair products in the fancy bottles. They [Greenbrier International] know what they're doing imitating the package design of high-end products. I don't have any horror stories, but I don't have any raves either. The shampoos and conditioners left my hair in ok condition, so for 1$, no complaints #shrug. I'm excited to see how your hair turned out! (i do love their moisturizing spritz, Pink Moisturizer knockoff, vitamin E oil, and old fashioned "hair grease" line by Softee, lol)

LifeWithSteph: Wow your skin is flawless !! I need a skin care routine girl.

M James: Wow! Your hair looks amazing and it looked so soft. You got great results. I am so sorry that your skin was itching. Watching this video makes me want to try Dollar Tree products. Lol!

Nicole Marie: Your hair is gorgeous. I think I'm going to try those products. Going back natural now for 2019. Thank you!

Natera Overby: It reminds me of when I put on some cute costly wedges and them Mugs kill my feet worse than my inexpensive wedges...everything expensive is not always better

tyerra1213: Lol thanks Whit but you're 4 years too late . Going natural in college was a struggle. I used to wash, condition and style with vo5 and stolen olive oil from the cafeteria. Don't sleep on it

PHATBOOS TV: I actually really love v05 conditioner the slip on it is amazing it detangles my hair so nicely ,& since it is cheap I can use a lot ! if you guys have fine hair like mine you should just give it a try !

K Michelle: I tried these products and I am beyond amazed my twist out turned out to be something beyond amazing thanks Whitney

77summertime: I've used Silkience Silky Smooth conditioner and the two in one conditioner and shampoo from Dollar Tree. It works very well for me! I think I will try the kid spray she showed here.

Shy Bunnie: I used those products in college, my hair always came out great! That's what was available before all this expensive stuff came onto the market.

Stephanie Brizard: V05 is still a name brand that's been around for years, it's sold everywhere, not just the dollar store - it's recently become more of a Suave competitor, but the hot oil treatments are awesome. But awesome for folks looking to save money.

Mariah H: Proof that cheaper can work just as good as expensive. My mom did our hair with whatever shampoo and conditioner was cheapest and she had a coupon for lol. Plus oiled our scalp with royal crown. Giving us a good brushing and scalp massage. She did this process every Saturday night. And my dusters and I had long, thick, hair throughout our entire childhood.

Dani D: That VO5 coats your hair and makes it feel weird! So my family stays away from it. We each have different textures which are fine, kinky, wavey, course. We learned the hard way trying to budget and it took like four separate washes before it finally started giving us our own normal hair textures back!

DravenUrei: My gods, your hair is so freaking beautiful. Wish I could get my hair that long and healthy looking!

Neena Glenn: You’re reaction was so hilarious! Curls poppin, I may have to pick some up for only a $1

AaliyahShenel: I use VO5 conditioners regularly. Some are $0.75 at Walmart! But the conditioners are a part of my regular wash day routine!

Sadi Berry: I always use vo5 best conditioner for my hair personally.

Queria La'Shay: The fact that I've been using Family Dollar Store and dollar General hair products for 3 years now and some YouTubers are just realizing how good are the hair products is.. blow my mind LOL great video.. #whereyallbeen❤

Denise B.: So glad I found this channel again. I followed her faithfully when I had twa back in 2011, and now my hair is longer than bsl (after a second big chop). Im here to stay!

Raenett Williams: Too Cute! I have been using dollar store products forever even when family said "V05 and White Rain was for white people." I just used other forms of moisturizing like coconut oil and extra virgin olive oil to massage into my hair and scalp. Good for you and Thank You for sharing. I teach and some of my students are natural girls on a budget....I will pass this video on to them.

Bella Sherly: If I were a manager at a dollar store, I sure would play this video in the store

CV: I have curly hair and I've been trying shampoos and conditioners for curly hair trying to find a good one. They've left my hair feeling kind of rough and hard to detangle. I finally bought a VO5 conditioner and my hair got its softness back and my hair smells delicious. I noticed that any products with shea butter, will make my hair fall out in clumps. And products meant for curly hair just tangle the crap out my hair. VO5 was my go to products back in the day and after using VO5, I think I'll keep using it. I'm just mad VO5 discontinued their deep conditioning treatment that I used to love.

faith murray: VO5 AntiFrizz conditioner is EVERYTHING! It literally eliminates all frizz, I use it as a leave in, its the only product that eliminates frizz for me

Lady LaTre'viette Phantumhive: Ok so I went to the dollar store right after watching this video to get the leave-in stray. Here are my thoughts on the product : Pros - it made my hair detangle better than anything that I’ve used before (shea moisture, Aussie moist, cream of nature, etc...) - it left my hair extraordinarily soft. - I sprayed my hair 3 days later with water and my hair was instantly moisturized (I guess there was still a little bit of product sitting on my strands what was reactivated by the water) Cons - it doesn’t dry in a reasonable amount of time. I did my hair in twist the night before and slept with the fan blowing directly on my head (no scarf) to ensure it was dry by morning, and it was still damp. Which caused my hair to poof back up. - my scalp was itching like crazy !!! Mind you I didn’t wash my hair prior to using the spray and I didn’t spray it directly on my scalp (the product just moved up my strands and transferred from my hands) I just used water to give my hair added moisture. - I kept the leave-in on my hair for a few days to test how long my hair would stay moisturized (even though it was itchy) and now my scale has little sore bumps in various places. So Whitney I’m sure the spray is what made your scalp itchy. My recommendation would be to use it only to detangle your ends, but make sure it doesn’t get anywhere near your scalp. Once I’m done with this bottle, I will not be buying it again.

Nikkynik112: V05 conditioner is LIT!!! I regularly use it as a pre-poo and it actually works great as a refresher/styler in a pinch.

Lil Miss Nayers: Omg I loved your reaction to the products when you were taking your hair out!!! Lls I Love your personality, thank you for this, oh and p.s we need the gorilla snot comparison video next!

Randique: I literally LOLed during this video, love the silly side of you Whit! And your hair looked good girl!

It's Asha Mac-Monetize what you do!: Girl, dollar store products are my life! Would have never made it to bra strap length without them lol!

Valerie Yao: You just made my dayI love you A friend of mine told me about the VO5 shampoo and I was so hesitant to try it, but watching your video made me confidant but after having hearing you saying you have an itchy scalp, I think I am going to pass lol

AbideinHim7: You are so funny! Holla for the Dolla store!!! I'm on my way to get me some hair products too! Your hair looks great!

Ru T: I just cannot afford all of the natural hair products so went back to using vo5, royal crown grease mixed with vitamin e oil from dollar store...........either I was going to put a perm back in or had to go cheaper because it is very expensive maintaining natural hair.......glad you did a video on it to prove dollar store products work!!!!!

Blazed Katana: I am so happy that you have done this video with products from the dollar store. With my life changing, I won't be able to afford all of the expensive hair products to do my natural hair. Especially since I'm going more natural after watching Black Panther! It has given me much more of encouragement to continue my natural hair look. You have given me more affordable product ideas to use. Thank you!

ThenonedayIjust: Love love love vo5 strawberry conditioner to prepoo and detangle before washing. It has a high water content and melts tangles. Also works as a cowash in a pinch. Often sells for less than $1 on sale at drug stores.

Arianna: When I get into the hair isle it’s like I’m on a new planet I want literally everything

Atiras 1: Girl, I see it, looks amazing, had the same experience using Pantene which I got free couponing, at CVS, I was happy with the results too

GEM Naturals: The mini concert in the shower though! It goes to show that just because an item is inexpensive doesn't mean it's low quality... sometimes! Loll you are a brave soul Whitney! lol Loved it!

Angela Williams: Loved the video. I’ve been really thinking about going natural again. This time doing it right. Perming my hair has been thinning it out. Have you always been natural? Your hair is beautiful.

1Cozy Kitten: I have thin fine hair and my hair regimen consist of Dollar Tree hair products and Rice Water since August 2018. My short hair is growing , is softer and not tangled like before. I'm pretty much satisfied with the results I see using the Shea Solutions Shampoo & Conditioners, the Softee Gels & Oil Conditioners, Lusti Oil Moisturizer, Olive Oil Hair Mayonnaise & Olive Oil Hair Sheen & Kids Detangler Spray. Thanks $$$$ .

TASALI Naturals Thirty And Single And Loving It: I remember as a child when VO5 and Salon Selectives were advertised on tv as salon products. And for some reason the jingle "Jhirmack bounce back beautiful hair" is repetitive in my memory from my childhood I l.o.v.e. your #GodGivenBeautifulHair !!

Baby: The daily defense line is really good! I used the brown shampoo its no sulfate & it made my hair soo soft & didnt dry it out! Works better than the one i was paying more for

problemz2solve: Great video, as always! Please help me! I’ve been “natural” for nearly a decade, however I’ve always kept my hair straightened. I only started wearing it in its natural state very recently. I’ve noticed that when I wash my hair now, my scalp itches. Like within a few hours of washing, it starts to itch and it itches for days after. I NEVER had this issue when I wore my hair straight. I don’t know what to do, it’s so frustrating. I don’t know if it’s the products I’m using or something else. Any advice?

Jade Carter: Yes people stay sleeping on dollar tree and I've been going for years!!! I could never afford many brands so I used Vo5 and made my own conditioner. I always try anything to look good on a budget

GoldenLife Love: VO5 Conditioner is BOMB!! I use that on wash days before I wash my hair. I let it sit on my hair for a couple hours, under a shower cap, then detangle & wash my hair.

Wenefreda: I've always loved Vo5 they are a good brand that just doesn't get as much exposure as it used to. It was a salon brand years ago.

Dumbdumbpop33: I can't believe you sacrificed your scalp for us you are the realist of real ones!! YOUR HAIR IS SO BEAUTIFUL. Products aside I swear your hair is even healthier and bouncy than I remembered and then dollar tree did you riiight. Loved the video! .

Trinka Polite: great video! thanks for being considerate of all budgets! hair looks good girl!

armywife51197: That salon selective deep conditioner is amazing!! I love it!!

Tiffany Rose: 90% of the items that is sold at Dollar Tree you can get anywhere! Salon Selective's was VERY popular in the 80's and early 90's as well as V05 which I use daily and works perfectly! You get all of these products at Ulta as well!! Just because things come from a Dollar store doesn't mean it's cheap!!

Suee_ Namii: SalonPro is a great brand as well ! I use their conditioner in my wash and gos. Always leaves my curls soft and defined
