Hey loves today, I'm preparing to do my very first ACV rinse on my 16 month old locks to get rid of any product build-up. That'S accumulated over time. It'S going on 11 weeks since my last retwist and my hair really needs some TLC. This was not intentional, but this is the longest by far that I've ever ever waited between having a retwist done, and this will be - and I guarantee this will be my last time - that I wait this long. I purchased this inflatable sink off of Amazon sometime last year and I'll link it in the description box, but those who'd like to go check it out. I'Ve recruited my sister Melinda, to help me, since neither one of us have ever done. One of these before we are not professionals and for some part of this time neither one of us knew what was supposed to happen. So this video isn't a tutorial, but more so to show you guys what we did. Oh nothing, you want. I can't see it so make sure it gets all in here, I'm using warm water about two tablespoons of lemon juice, 1/4 cup of baking, soda and 3/4 cups of apple cider, vinegar for this process, and I'm doing two rounds of this. The first round. I'M going to sit for about 20 minutes and the second round, I'm gon na do about 15 minutes for the second round. We are still using warm water, but this time we're going to add the lemon juice and the baking soda end prior to me. Getting in I'm only going to sit this time for about 15 minutes and then we'll shampoo, this hair until it's squeaky, clean melanda, is making sure to check each lock for any loose residue that either she can see or feel with our fingers. So here, once the water got really salty, we decided to rinse and finish the rest of the shampooing over into the kitchen sink. We shampooed with the Neutrogena anti residue shampoo three times and then once with the shimmer Lite shampoo to help brighten my grades. I already have a video showing you guys how I use these two products together to retwist my hair and I'll link it here in the car section, as well as in the description box. If you would like to reference that video for later my roots are madness and my hair feels a little dry, but my locs seem fluffier, so I'm going to do my regular retwisting, routine and I'll be back guys. Let me know what you think about this video in the comment section. Have you ever tried an ACV rinse on your locks and what steps do you do differently for your process? Knowledge is power, so, let's share with one another down below see you in my next video until next time. You guys bye, bye,

ExquisiteCoils: Seeing the beautiful grays in your hair is so inspiring. Your locs are beautiful. My locs aren't long enough for the loc bath yet. I'm looking forward to it. You're dog is a cutie.

DJ Huffin Puff: Wonderful video! I’m about to do my first ever ACV rinse so I wanted to see someone else’s process once, thanks! I’m gonna try it the way you did it, appreciate you sharing

Eric Banks: Two and a half years with my locs and I’m going to do my first ACV rinse before my next retwist. Thanks for the video.

Demi Bell: You and your sister did an awesome job. Your locs are absolutely gorgeous

citykisses21: No locs but I use ACV quite frequently. It does wonders for my scalp.. Sometime I use with clay for a deep cleanse .. Hope you and sissypoo are staying safe and healthy!

courtda5ftdiva: First if all, I KNOW you dont think you can get away without doing a tutorial in that hairstyle at the end lol. I just did an acv for the first time on my 3 yr old locs and I was SHOOK. My hair was so happy after. I added tea tree oil and no lemon juice in mine

Brittney Morton: I find it so stunning how your locs didn’t even LOOK like they didn’t need a detox but that just proves how much build is in our hair. Loved the video all around cant wait to save some money nd do my own

msandrews87: Your hair grew so much! I don't have locs but I love watching ACV rinse videos lol

MrLoveToDebate: Nice video, my dog tried that a few times lol. I actually add pure almond extract with my ACV rinse. Works great for my locs. And I use Jamaican mango and lime shampoo and protein conditioner for my wash.

Blkbeautee: I have done an ACV rinse and I love it. You never know much dirt or products are in your hair until you look at the water. I did mine in the kitchen sink....that infatible sink looks comfortable! Your dog is adorable.

Buddha King: Been growing my locks for a min and I never did this til today thank you Queen

Asher Torres: Your puppy is absolutely adorable and those locks are beautiful!

Cheryl Jones: I just subscribed send am buying EVERYTHING on this list. I'm 7 yrs locd and my daughter 4 yrs amd I've never detox my hair because my hairdresser says not to. From what I've seen, this will be a regular thing!! ❤ Update: so I actually DID detox today and OMG 7 yrs of garbage and gunk came out of my locs. They look shiny are soft and smell amazing . How often shld we detox. Is once a month ok?

n2meuc2: Looking up videos about the rinse, glad I came across yours. Your hair is beautiful! Next wash I will definitely use this method to wash/rinse my hair. Thanks for taking the time to share!

Emeka's Earth Gems: Beautiful locs I have never done an acv rinse before but I am about to try it on my daughter's locs.

K!msan: This video helped me so much, i am new to dreads and got mine just winter last year. Thank you for tips and the video <3

Alisha Alexander: your hair is absolutely gorgeous. I'm gonna try this acv rinse now

Shalisa’s Journal: Thank you for this super simple tutorial!!!

The Sacred Cottage: I've decided to do mine once a month because it helps balance the ph level of your scalp. I know of people who use only apple cider vinegar on their hair every time they wash their hair and it doesn't damage the hair at all. But I figured once a month would be better because I want my hair's natural oil to be on my hair for as long as possible. Plus if you use things such as clove bud oil and orange oil that will help with mold in your hair and doing that once a month will make sure that no mold or unwanted build-up will be placed in the hair. One reason why I'm doing that is because my husband is super allergic to mold and he will wind up in the hospital if that happens. So I want to avoid that as much as possible.

💜LOLA THE POET💜: I’m about to get all the ingredients today and detox my locs! I’ll let you know the outcome! My locs are 22in long! Ready for a detox!

Ondrea Torrence: Im loving the dog wanting to get in on the action so cute. I have a tub like that and I'm due for a detox , I need to stop being lazy and do it haha

Shanna Kay: Maybe if I knew how to take care of my locs back then I wouldn't have pull them out after a year and a half. It looked awful with lint and such in it. So now I live vicariously watching your journey.

Self Made: I did mine today and it was the best wash in 13 years my locks really needed that treatment

MotherKnowsBest RR: My kids have dreads and I did the ACV treatment for their hair and they loved it! it also made their hair super clean.

Preston Siegler: Wow! So beautiful! I wanna look that good at 16 months!

NewbieQT886: I haven’t done an acv rinse with this set of locs, but I may have to do it soon. Always enjoy your videos!!!

B Rha: Awesome I’m going on 4 years and never did a ACV ! But looking forward to making my own video on the turn out Great vid tho

KnowN cHiLd: Amazing! Thanks for sharing! You must be doing a great job with your locs. I've seen other ACV loc videos were the water goes dark brown after treatment

CC : Who knew there was such a thing as an inflatable sink?! I never knew this item existed. What a great find! Love the dog in the video. I noticed while watching this video we are wearing the same Target t-shirt in the same color!! (4:50) I got a great chuckle from that.

Donna Reid: I did this today. My scalp and hair feel so revitalised and clean as a whistle ( but I prepared it in a clean plastic bucket and poured it over my dry hair in the shower and then shampooed and conditioned with a special hair and scalp shampoo and conditioner afterwards ). Great result.

Winter Lyons: Your hair is so beautiful. I also enjoyed seeing the fur baby.

MzChasten2u: I have never tried the acv rinse but being at a year I think it's time. Thanks for sharing.

LaToya N K: You’re hair looks good. Now I want it done for me

rachelmm05: Your locs are actually fairly clean cause you take care of your hair as always. I've seen some folks acv soak look like they were sleeping outside on the ground... I did an acv on my loose natural hair a while back and it was actually too harsh. The baking soda stripped all moisture and even after rinsing repeatedly it felt crazy. I had to do some rounds of deep conditioner.

Robin Africa🌍: A good shampoo for loc buildup is Lemon Fluff Shampoo by Gabels, it comes in a jar. You can find it on Amazon.

Keona Thomas: Yes! I love it! They look good! Thinking of doing this on my 18 y.o. ☺️

Dwinessa Pratt: Loved it!!!!!!! I’m gonna try this soon!

Kasey SkylineWolf: I thought the video was educational and relaxing thank you for the knowledge of loc care. I’m ready to start my journey soon.

Tasha Burgess: Thanks for the video!! ❤️ I wanted to do this but was not sure exactly how to do it. Your fur baby act just like mine does.... so nosy always all up in my business.

Lex Poston: You and your hair are gorgeous!! Love the video and your dog was adorable lol trying to lick the water

Kimberly Schwartz: My FAVORITE part of this video is your dog's kisses and sips from your inflatable sink!!! LOVE YOUR DOGGY!!!!

Tara Brown: I did my first rinse this weekend

Rihanna N: Thank you doing this for my daughter tonight …

lakrishiK: Thank you. I’m doing this now

brown eyed: YaY!!! I've missed you! My role model. Your hair's coming along nicely. Was thinking of dyeing my grays, but after watching this maybe all I need is a brightening shampoo? I've never done an ACV since I maintain with interlocks and all the product I use is shampoo. I live in the tropics and sweat a ton everyday, so I don't even use oil. My body produces all the oil my hair needs right now, and since it's the rainy season the moisture levels in the air are just perfect for my hair, so I don't even moisturize either; just shampoo every 3 weeks. No shade, but I've never understood the point of an ACV rinse if you're gonna just put all that product back in anyway. It legit confuses me.

Bella Chanelle: Your beautiful thanks for sharing ! Gonna try right now !

Areanna Mitchell: ❤good job I swear I can tell the difference

Lucky Penny: Does this get rid of mildew also? Thanks for the video!

Gwill301: Its like your pup was saying, is this water for me mom?! so cute

Jayla Ellis: Oh my goodness me and the dog would be fighting I love dogs, but kudos to you for letting him observe the process.

TMH is the light 29: Wondering how this would work on short locs ? If anyone has tried it on shorter locs please let me know

Dearris Somler: what were your thoughts on the rinse? how did your locs feel

Missy xox: Satisfying! That vintage-y style at the very end is so cute!

Quraysha Mehta: Going to do this step by your step asap thanx for sharing

Aprilluvv: Your baby was like "Mom!!!!!! Yay ... itssa GAME!!!! I love you momma!!!!" LOL!!!

J CR: LMAO, dog knew you couldn’t move, so he got all the love he wanted.

GTP: Looks good without the re twist

Anthony Brooks: Locs look good great video

noracha: It’s supposed to be done on your roots too to unclog them

SaucyDonut 24: Everything right but it’s best to use cold water for locs but thumbs up

Lovelyesquire: Love the sink and the doggie!!!

Judith Nyarato: I have never but i will right away to remove buildups from my locs.
