Cave of the kids, I'm John barber welcome back to my channel in today's video I'll, be talking to you about Castro and how you are using it wrong. Yes, most of us use Castro incorrectly. So, if you'd like to know the proper way to use casserole. Thank you for watching. I know from the title of this video. You are wondering what is she talking about? How can I be using casserole incorrectly I've seen these videos on YouTube for years my mother has been using it for years and passed away. She uses it to me, but I can tell you I was the same way. I inherited things from YouTube. I did not inherit it from my mom because I do not know how she uses it, because my mom never used to call my hair wash my hair because she was not good at it, and I went back home last year to Jamaica. I saw her a plane to my niece is here and her method was different, and so it made me question her as to what she was doing and why she was doing it so Before we jump into how to use Castro correctly. I just like to give you a little history about castor oil. Castor oil is from a plant and the seed the castor seed makes the castor oil plant can be seen in the African continent as well as South American continent, as well as in the Caribbean. They have lots of those classes in Jamaica and if you are Jamaican or if you're Caribbean, you know that Castro is a staple in your hair, routine. Castro can also be used on the skin. But for the purposes of this video I will not be talking about the other uses of Castro outside of using it for your here. So let's talk about the myths and the ways that you have been exposed to using castor oil. Some of us have been told that we can use castor oil on our edges to make them grow and let them grow longer and thicker. We can also use it in our here to thicken or here as well as we can use it on our scalp. As an antiseptic, these things are not in. They are true, but the method in which and the way in which you use it. That'S what makes the difference in the process of using castor oil. This is a casserole that I currently have and use, and I have a link in the information box below of all the other casseroles I like, and I use that is close to the one from Jamaica. So this one is from Skyy organi, so usually what I would do is, I would dip my finger in it and I would apply to my temple and then I'll massage it into my hair. And then I noticed the oil would sit on my hair and then it will create the illusion that my here is thicker, but in fact it is not. It is because of the viscosity of the castor oil it makes or gives the appearance of thickness. In my here, which in essence is a trick because of how thick the oil is it coats my hair strands differently, you must be wondering okay, so if I shouldn't be taking it out straight out of the bottle and a planet to my hair, how should I Apply it to my hair, so the first thing that you need to know is that if you use castor, especially if you have lost it, tend to trap the dirt lint and any other debris to your here - and you do not want that. So I recommend - and this is something that you don't have to do, if you're using it the way you're using it and it works for you continue to use it that way. But I find that, based on conversations with my mom as well as further research, that the reason why sometimes we are not getting results from where we use castor oil is because we're using it incorrectly. What I like to do is to download my castor oil using other oils that tend to promote hair growth, for example. What I'll do is I'll pour some castor oil into a bottle, and then I will pour some peppermint oil on it. I can go ahead and add some tea tree oil as well, and sometimes I like to add vitamin E oil or a sweet almond oil or any other oil that will help to download the oil and is also good for hair growth. After I do that, I will give all those oils a stir and then applied to my here. Do this. I am breaking down the composition of the castor oil, as was I'm mixing in other oils that will stimulate hair growth and thickness as well. When you download the oil, you could go ahead and apply it all over you here we use a generous amount and, as I mentioned before, oils alone do not moisturizer here. Do you like to go in with the loc method, which is the liquid oil and cream? So then, you will need to go ahead and use some form of liquid and then cream to help with the sealing off your hair process if you're going for moisturization. Oh with that being said, that is how I use castor. Let me know in the comment box below how you use castor oil, and let me know if you're using it the way I recommend it or if you have another way, leave it down below, so I can know and we can learn from each other. Thank you. So much for watching and until I post my next videos, you could go ahead and watch my two previous videos. Thank you so much for watching and if you found this video helpful, please go ahead and give it a thumbs up and until next time, bye.

Marc Leon: I love my beautiful black queen but what we came for starts at 3:45.

Vanessa Clark: As long as you moisturize your hair first, it doesn't matter if you use it straight or mixed with something. Castor oil is a sealant, if you use it dry all you're sealing in is dryness, hence is why there's no growth/improvement.

Praise Osas: I mix Jamaican Black Castor Oil (I use the Tropic Isle too!) with jojoba, Olive, vitamin E, and tea tree (for itchy scalp) oils. I also add an essential oil mix with lemongrass, lavender, sweet orange, rosemary, etc. This helps with the smell and thickness. I apply this to my scalp and edges once a week and use as a sealant when moisturizing my hair. It’s been working well for me.

Forever Evolving: Yes, I love castor oil. I've been using it since 2010. I started by using Jamaican Black Castor, but I swiftly switched to regular laxative castor oil that I can pick from Walmart as it was easy to access. I use it mixed together with a hair lotion, butters, and natural oils. I love my mixture so much that I stopped using conditioner as I had no need for it. The Castor oil is great in locking in the water and helps my brush to glide through my hair. It has definitely a become mandatory item for my hair lotion.

NY HELLCAT: Agree 110%. I always mix castor is essential oils also adding organic aloe, olive and coconut. Works amazing and yes does make it grow.

Love Ace.: I have been growing my locs for over 15yrs now. And I really needed to hear this! My hair has become so long and heavy but also dries out quicker and my edges are breaking and thinning due to constantly pulling them back for work. I’ve tried a lot of products with no results. Come find I’ve been doing it wrong lol. Thank You for sharing! I will try this method and share my results!

praiseHimrightnow: Hey Jungle Barbie! I usually don't dilute castor oil for my edges, but then I mix it with Talijah Waajid's Healing Oyl for the rest of my scalp and hair. It has soybean oil, almond oil, Vit E, Olive oil, Palm oil and sunflower oil. I've also mixed in a little Doo Growth oil too, but only bc I had a little left. I've had decent results on my edges, but really I need to be more consistent.

Sam I Am: I used it the way you recommended and my waves have been really shiny and soft. I mix my castor oil with jojoba oil and I love the results. Thanks for the tips! I’ll definitely try other oils.

Layla Mae: I always mix sweet almond oil, peppermint oil, and rosemary oil with my castor oil and it seriously works wonders!

Bangkok Baby: Great video! Totally sincere sense. As a producer of high grade castor oil I find this advice very on point and constructive. I always advise buyers of my products to consider mixing it with a suitable carrier oil, and discover a regime that stimulates hair growth or whatever effects they are seeking.

Farhana Anonymous: The video starts at 3:40

Trolley Bee: For my type 4 hair locs I put castor oil on it when my hair is clean and soaking wet and sit under hooded dryer for 25-30 min... keeps my hair lusciously moisturized for weeks.

PROD KRK5Z CERTI: I like using a makeup remover pad (just a dry one), put some castor oil onto it, then dab it onto my twists. Then I put my durag on, and when I wake up they’re super soft, shiny and look juicy af.. It also gets rid of the frizz and lays everything down really neatly. I do the same with olive oil too sometimes and that works but just not as good. Only think I don’t like about Jamaican Black Castor Oil is it does smell pretty strong, unlike olive oil (unless the one I use is different to others. Mine pours orange, when in this video it’s clear?). Like I have to wash my durag every 3-4 days when I used to go around 2 weeks+ without having to. But I won’t deny it’s benefits. My hair is a lot more manageable and I’ve seen way less shedding since applying it to my scalp every 3 days. As long as you exfoliate you’re scalp with a shampoo brush though because it can maybe clog your pores up

Al Kearney: The key is to apply heat with the castor oil before applying it to the hair. Longtime method used here in the States that works like a charm! Adding additional oil is not necessary but optional.

Matea Filipova: Been using it with olive oil on dry hair. My hair grows like wild and is more healthier than ever. My hair is straight asf so i think it depends on the hairtype.

Adi Puckett: I add essential oils to my castor oil and squeeze it to my dreads while they are damp (not wet!). Perfect enduring moisture! I love a simple regimen, no joke!

NaNcy KnOll: Thank you, this is extremely helpful.

DJ Socaholic: I also mix it with other oils too and sometimes I heat the oil (using an oil diffuser) and apply it to my hair

MAZZ Naturals: Hey Sis missed you good to see you back! Hope the studying is still going well Happy New Year . This is a fantastic Video I normally use Castor Oil the raw way pouring it into a bottle like you mentioned before and putting it straight on my roots. Fir: Good video, thank you. Today I did the double boiler method, castor oil + fenugreek seeds + nigella aka kaloonji seeds. When it cools down I'll follow your instructions with sweet almond oil and an essential oil.

Blackoreanfemale: I also mix all my products in a container warm them up (real quick) then mix them up. Olive oil (pure) Coconut (pure) Dark castor (pure) Vitamin E (pure) Then wash them out. To seal i use Jajaboa and more vitamins. My hair was chopped (shaved off) during quarantine. Now my hair is in the upper part of the middle of my back.

Paula Gudger: Good to see you again - I have seen videos where it is suggested using a carrier oil like olive oil when mixing oil for our hair. What do you think about that? Is it a good idea?

Essie Favors: I use it the way you use it,happy to know I’m using it correctly.

Anna Fresa: It’s my first time of applying castor oil without mixing and my hair smells and feels dirty next day. So better stick to blanding

Manushika Sandamali: Can we use sesame oil to mix with castor oil?

Jamila Harvey: Soo pretty!!love the scarf makeup combo! And advice of course !

Rex Novida: Thank you so much for this maam I am going to use one soon because of this❤

Graceful Knots: Nice video but you kept us in suspense for far too long. I love using it on its own though and I think it depends on one's hair. I still liked the video though

VvSylvia Crawford: Yes you are correct! Castor oil is best combined, there are times I use it alone but I rather not.

Tracy C.: I don’t use it this way. I put it on my scalp and hair the night before wash day and comb it through. I wash very thoroughly the next day. That’s it.

Jamal Williams: I used it raw for a while and then I add some beard oil into a container with some Jamaican black castor oil, I also use a toothbrush to work the oil deep into my skin all over my beard and hair line. Alexa Diedrich: What is a good liquid and cream to use if your goal is hair growth?

Not even a little: I don't think you demonstrated or explained how to use Castor Oil. You explained how to infuse other oils into castor oil to maybe heighten the benefits of use. Each person sees different benefits and establishes a routine that works best for them. As an example, I use JBCO from Tropical Isle Living. I add it every 2 days to my scalp AFTER I use a fine mist sprayer and apply Aloe Vera juice to my entire length. Once I do that, then castor oil alone is applied to the scalp and I either massage it with my fingers for 10-15 minutes every other day or every 3 days or I use a scalp massager. Every week I will alternate between a full hair wash using a shampoo and then a co wash using gentle manipulation. On the days before my wash/cowash days, I might add peppermint or tea tree oil to stimulate my scalp. Once every week I may also do a deep condition treatment using JBCO, coconut oil and another infused oil. This has worked for me. Months ago I tried Ayurvedic ingredients and that dried my hair out and it took me about 2.5 months of deep conditioning to get life back into my hair. If you have one great tip that you cannot do without to share, that would be awesome.
