♥ 52 ♥ Natural remidies for cradle cap: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bc8iJX...

A newborn is defined as a baby under 28 days old, when a baby is born, the umbilical cord is cut, leaving a stump which needs to be kept dry until it falls off. Naturally, this can take anywhere from between five and fifteen days. This means no submerging in water for baths or hair washing during this time. As you can see from the pictures, my daughter was born with a head full of hair, but nonetheless i delayed hair washing not only because of the umbilical cord, but because I didn't want to interfere with her body establishing the amounts of natural oils or sebum. It needed in lieu of hair, washing, I would take a damp washcloth and gently run it over her hair every few days to keep her hair clean. An infant is defined as child between 29 days and 12 months old. This is when I began washing her hair around once a week while bathing her for a comfortable bath room temperature. I run the bath or shower for a minute or two, with the doors closed to create steam and warmth. A bath with molded ridges to hold babies securely in place in a reclined position is ideal that way you have both hands-free for hair, washing at this age. The noise of a showerhead can be quite disconcerting. I found using a washcloth or jug of water to saturate. Her hair was much quieter and less startling for this stage. All I uses water for hair washing since baby isn't mobile or eating solids and so stays pretty clean. I found that water and the light head massage was enough to keep baby's hair and scalp clean without disruption to her natural hair oils. Once washed, I would blot excess water, then add a small amount of coconut oil to her hair and scalp, giving a light massage. As I go, which babies love. I chose to use coconut oil because it's easily absorbed and helps with cradle cap. At this stage, her hair didn't really tangle, so I'd run a wide toothed comb through her hair. If necessary, a toddler is usually defined as a child between one of three years of age. Another word I like to use for toddler is busy. They are now mobile and eating solids, both of which can be messy Affairs. So it's at this stage that I use the baby, cleanser or conditioner in my hair. What at around the toddler stage, my kids developed a fear of having their hair washed toys and water books were great distractions, but the real lifesaver, with all four of my children was the design of this tub like most baby bathtubs. It enabled me to wet their hair, while laying back so the water rinsed away from their faces, but, unlike most baby bathtubs, I was able to continue using it beyond three years of age. After saturating his hair, I co-wash using a baby conditioner during this stage. I would Co wash weekly and only use a baby shampoo around once a month due to lingering maternal hormones. It'S not uncommon for a baby's hair to change, texture, color or thickness due to hair loss. So don't be alarmed here. My son has three hair textures, the straight hair. He was born with at the tips, his permanent 4c hair texture at the roots and the combination of the two in between. For me, the tangle teezer was the only tool able to avert this recipe for a tangled disaster. It glided through all three hair textures with ease. I would only do 1/3 to tangle like this one. Once a week during washing while fully saturated with water in the conditioner in between washes, I would spritz with a water oil combo and only lightly pick out. The ends using a tangle teezer once again for reluctant toddlers using a container and pouring the water provides a much calmer environment than a noisy showerhead and limits splashing around the face. At this stage, just using coconut oil was still enough to keep his hair moisturized. As his 4c hair texture became dominant. I would first apply a leave-in conditioner such as giovanni's or kinky curly knot today and then seal with coconut oil. As you can see, even when semi contained in his crib, he was not about the hair session life, a book to distract helps, but I never force the issue. You never want your child to start out with negative associations with their hair, so a funky unfussy fro was usually our end results. Thank you so much for watching. My son was born with a full head of hair as well and although his hair is well taken care of with oils, I noticed that his scalp, at 4 months, is very dry. From your video, I have just realised he does not need the baby shampoo at all until later.

She has a combo of type 3 and 4 at the moment. our routine is using Johnson baby wash to wash hair once a week and then daily just apply pure coconut oil. I want to keep the simple very simple as wash/bath routine with two can get quite hectic on its own! Any specific tips for moisture retention?

I plan on purchasing a satin bonnet for her for when she gets older but just wondering what I can do in the meantime. My guess is kee the hair moisturized with coconut oil but would love other suggestions. Thank you!

Kristin Whiting: Aahhh! This should be required watching for all parents who have 1 texture hair, like myself, who adopt babies with 3/4 texture hair.
