Whose hair is back? Oh, oh sorry, that's me whose hair is completely healthy and just thriving. Oh sorry, that's mine whose hair is a beautifully 4c, 4b type 4 and just excellent, i'm sorry! That'S mine! Hi guys! Welcome back to my channel. It has been a little bit of a minute how y'all doing how's everyone doing so many tick. Tock represents. Sorry. Sorry, sorry, hey guys, so i am so excited to be back today. Your girl needed a break. I'M just like that's the only thing i can say. I needed a break but, as you guys can see, your girl is rocking her natural tresses. She got a reshape she's, looking full she's looking healthy. Today we are going to be talking all about my hair, i'm going to be giving you guys a very detailed update on everything, that's happening with my hair before we get started. I just need to do once again once and only for me and that's to make sure you're subscribed. Okay, this is a very standard procedure here. You know you just click the red button and uh hit the notification bell right next to it, so you always get notified. When i post a new video and that's it, i promise it'll be worth it. I promise. So if you guys are new here or if you just need a refresher on my hair journey back in december of 2018, so right into right, when i was we were about to go into 2019, i experienced heat damage and i have an entire playlist that has All the videos, including when i showed my hair when it was heat, damaged my journey when i started transitioning again and all that jazz so definitely make sure you guys watch that playlist i'll link it down in the description box. If possible. Can you please link here because it hasn't been linking lately? Also, i want to quickly shout out my jewelry, so this is from true face black owned company and they make amazing amazing, jewelry, so love to see it so yeah guys back in december 2018. I did receive heat damage, i had gone to a salon and i just i didn't even go in for so pressed, which is so funny when i think about it, but i got so pressed and the way my hair said film died. I was really really distraught. I was really upset about it because at that point i had like quite some length and i had decided. Finally, i decided, finally to start taking care of my hair, so it was just really ironic that i would now get heat damage, but either way i eventually got over it and a few months later i decided to start my transitioning journey instead of just completely big Chopping, my hair, you know at that time. I didn't want to completely like have my hair shave low, just because it's a lot of maintenance to have short natural hair like i don't think people realize that, like it's, not that easy, it's actually a little easier to have some length so yeah. So that's what i did and i've teamed up with hair salon here in new york city jhb studios, but she is going through a rebrand right now, but you can book her and her employees and i'll leave a link down below. So you can reach out if you'd like she's, the one that gave me this amazing cut. She always does like my cuts, she's amazing. So what we decided, what was my treatment plan essentially was that every quarter so every three months i would come in so i would get quarterly trims and every two weeks within the month i would go in and get just like a bi-weekly hair treatment. Those treatments included an olaplex treatment which is great for rebuilding the protein bonds in your hair um, a deep condition. My essentially my hair was being taken care of the way i should have been taking care of it all these years, but uh. You know i'd be lazy, so i'll be doing that, but my hair actually responded really really really well to getting my hair treated at least once a month, because obviously sometimes i have protective styles in whatever, but either way my hair was responding so well to the Quarterly trim, so i did that all throughout 2019 and into 2020 and the last time i went to the salon was in february and then the pandemic hit yeah. So after once, the pandemic hit obviously all salons closed down and was cheesy duro, taking care of her hair during the pandemic. Now she was nuts, because why is it pandemic? It'S a pandemic like. Why would i i can count on one hand the amount of times i do conditioned my hair? Obviously i'm not trimming my hair myself, because no, i think maybe i moisturized it maybe like maybe up to 10 times over the last seven months. I did the barest of various minimums with my hair, so i finally finally went back to finally get my trim and if you follow me on instagram, then you would have seen all of this already so shameless plug. Follow me on instagram, so you get notified of all of these little things a bit sooner, because everything comes onto youtube a little bit later and she gave me a trim and whoa. It was more than a trim honey, obviously, because i've sat in her chair for so long and i've seen what my hair looks like. I saw what my hair was looking like all throughout 2019 and how it was responding and looked really well. So when she washed my hair and you know, conditioned it and blew it out the way my ends were just just, i don't even know, and i could just see that it had rolled up a lot more than it would have. You know what i mean like, because we only had like about two inches left of damage right and i had a good amount of my natural hair already grown out. So it seems like that damage kind of rolled up a little bit and we ended up having to take cut off just a lot more. The health of my hair kind of regressed over the last seven months during this pandemic, where i wasn't taking care of it. But either way i'm just happy because she was gon na leave. Some of the you know some of the remaining ends off, but i was like you know what girl just do it? It'S? Okay. You know i've been transitioning my hair for so long, and i was really really excited just to see my natural texture back. So i told her to cut every single, every single dead end, every single one of them. I need them off and she did that, and this is what we're left with. Obviously, we had to go shorter in the back, because the way my hair grows - and let me know if any of you guys experienced this too, the front of my hair grows the slowest which is so annoying. It is really annoying when it comes to shaping the hair and the back and middle of my hair grow the fastest. Any time i grow. My hair out, i always end up getting a mullet, because my hair in the back just grows so much faster than the front so because we had to take off a bit of length at the front. That means we had to take off a lot of length at the back, but i'm honestly, okay, i love this shape like i am obsessed with this shape. It is everything i wanted and more in life. Let me give you guys a 360 of my hair. Don'T buy my back guys it's going through some things so yeah. This is a side view of my hair, even like right here that i always kind of suffer from breakage growing in really healthy and really nice, because i've been taking care of it a lot better. I'M just really really excited to see where my hair goes from here, just because i have not seen my full natural 4c texture literally since i got heat damage back at the end of 2018. So i really have such a greater appreciation for my hair and my hair texture. Now more than ever like i know i've always you know preached for the love and just loving your hair texture, no matter what it is, but when something is taken away from you, you realize how much you love it, and i was just like, although you know, When i first got heat damaged and yes, it was easier to comb through my hair and all that stuff. There is just nothing like having just tightly coiled. It'S just amazing. I think it's magic and i'm just so happy that i have my magic back so yeah. So, in terms of you know what i plan on doing with my hair now i mean y'all know i've never really been very attached to length. I genuinely have no interest in growing hair to my butt, like that's not a goal for me, but you know i just honestly right now. My goal is to be able to incorporate a lot more moisture sessions like with myself, like actually just try to just maintain the health of your hair. Like that's all i want to do. I just want to maintain the health of my hair yeah, like that's really it. I just want to figure out how to moisturize it better how to um. You know seal my ends a bit more and just not let it get to the point where it gets. Really really dry, because that's something that i tend to do. I just believe in my hair i just just i just leave it and i know i'm leaving it and it just be dry, like dry dry, like dry, dried right like right now, it's it's definitely like. I need to moisturize my in fact, i need to moisturize my hair tonight, because this is enough like it's been it's been like. Is it like a week? Why are you doing this, but this is my personal struggle. This is what i'm struggling with, don't be like me, but yeah. So that's pretty much. What'S going on with my hair, i just wanted to update you guys and do my final kind of like heat damage update. We are back. We are better, we know more. So we gon na do better, because when you know better, you do better right anyway. I hope you guys all continue to love your hair. Take care of it moisturize it do what you got to do and um yes, that is it for today's video guys. If you enjoyed this little hair update, make sure you give me a thumbs up, make sure you're subscribed. If you aren't already, i will catch you in my next video bye y'all. You

AfterChrist Ndunge: The intro...Chizi is ALWAYS an entire mooood!!!arghh!!! I love you!❤️

Njideka: I had to deal with heat damage a couple years ago too and it’s so annoying to deal with when you don’t know when your hair will fully come back (especially 4c hair) and you won’t have damaged ends anymore ooff!! But I’m really happy your hair is healthy again, I hadn’t even noticed your damage because your hair so beautiful and full!! God bless❤️

Drea Inspired: My hair was thriving before this pandemic. I recently went in to get a trim and had to cut 3 or 4 inches off to get rid of breakage and restore my shape as well. My hair also grows slower in the front. I'm back on top of my routine because that setback hurt my feelings.

Embrace with Christina: First, let's talk about how gorgeous you look! This whole ensemble with your afro is beautiful. The jewelry gives it a royal vibe.

Lulekwa Khanyile: I love your hair❤️. My hair is the complete opposite it grows faster at the front and middle and slower at the back so when I cut ends I cut more at the front than I do at the back.

EverythingLife with Oris: You are so real,I hope I finally get to loosen up in front of my camera so I can vlog freely, been hooked up here with you for years,I love your channel

dorcas glaydor: The necklace is super gorgeous. I wouldn't cut my hair this much( I been doing a lot of work on it), but, this cut frames you really really good. I love the look. Looks like a wig. It's so beautiful.

Selina James: Sis get you some rose water and glycerin mix spray! Its super hydrating and the glycerin helps draw out extra moisture from the environment! Its a quick easy way to keep your strands hydrated through the week

Cheshire Dj: I'm the opposite, my hair grows faster in the front. And I've been less lazy with my hair in the pandemic. What else to I have to do - I can't go anywhere... Might as well deep condition.

Guiliane Vanessa: I LOVEEE your natural hair style! You are looking Gorgeous dear!

Rachael Michael: Chizi is a VIBE!! LOVE YOU SIS

Divineservent s: Literally just started my natural journey with s big chop... I appreciate your content

Miss4C: Yep, mine too. Back grows a lot faster than the front. Hair right around my ears is very brittle and dry and though it grows at least as fast as the front, it is always stringy and see through. I think it mostly breaks off as it grows

TA: I guess I'm wondering why its so difficult for you to consistently take care of your hair. Is it because you find moisturizing and deep conditioning tedious? I've enjoyed your channel for some time now but i have to admit its been a little sad to see you still struggling to give your hair the TLC it deserves after all these years. I know you always encourage us to love our 4c hair but that message loses some of its power when your actions say otherwise. I mean you said it, you neglect your hair all the time. Maybe its just not a priority to you which is fine I suppose. I just see that you are very ambivalent about it. I'm not trying to be negative or anything I just want you to reflect on why after going through all that last year to get your hair back in shape you still couldn't find the motivation to take care of your hair during the pandemic. I mean we were in lockdown for months and had a bunch of time on our hands and no where to go. It was a perfect time to moisturize and deep condition more regularly. Anyways I will end there. Wish you the best and hope you can avoid making the same mistakes in the future.

Puli The South African: To think I cut my hair in March when I saw the heat damage I don't understand why I didn't see your earlier posts earlier or why didn't this happen to you earlier then I would have seen this sooner Your hair looks amazing. You're effing gorgeous. Your make up. Personality. That jewelry, your skin, your background, dem plants. Top tier content. Love to see it

Gabby Fletcher: FELT with the front of my hair growing the slowest, i’ll never understand why

Aquarian Goddess: I Love the shape of YOUR hair & the Beautiful texture !!!

Sandra: You’re glowing I love it

Jordyn C: awww Chizi!! you’ve worked so hard to get ur hair healthy, so happy for u luv
