Making My 4C Hair Manageable And Curly With The Gina Curl!

If you’ve been following my hair journey from my other videos then this is just an extension of me finding more ways to learn to manage my hair. This is the second chemical curl I’ve tried. Good morning so y'all today is the day that i am going to get a gina curl, a gina curl for you guys, who don't know, is a curly farm and if you've been following my curly perm journey from my last videos, i got a wave nouveau. It was amazing and fluffy and bomb, and then all my hair fell out um because they mixed it with the keratin treatment, which i guess should have helped, and it just did the opposite. Over processed my hair, my hair came out in balls balls. Nothing was able to save it. Nothing was able to fix it um. So now i'm gon na go and get this gina curl. I have a. I have 4c hair it's under here for seeing itself look at that. That'S that horsey and honestly my hair is like it's so thick and and beautiful and i cut it. It'S it's been a year, so i cut it all off a year ago, no chores, it wasn't strings. But now it's um it's this. So this is how far it's come in a year, so i just pray that uh. This goes well and i pray that i have enough hair because i mean a year. You can't grow that much, but i just keep it braided up, because i don't ever know what to do with it. I don't know how to manage my hair or anything. I just try to moisturize and keep it braided up. So we're just gon na see how this um, how this goes, uh pray for me, hey nice, to meet you so so so i mean that'll grow. But i'm like look. I'M noticing that for the first time, but my whole experience with getting the gina curl was amazing, i have to wash it um on today is friday. She said i have to wash it on monday and she gave me some stuff to wash it um. It was just a great situation. Guys, like everything about it was wonderful. Gina was wonderful. Her daughter was wonderful. Her business woman was wonderful, it was, it was so much fun and yeah. I'M excited actually to need another one and i'm excited to see what it looks like once it grows out. You know see where it is. Oh the rods i used gray and pink rods to achieve this curl right here so when it grows out when my own hair starts growing out, it should not be horrible with blending, whereas if i've gotten a bigger rod, it would be like pretty uncomfortable with blending. I wanted to dye it but she's like no. You know it'll mess up the curls so song wherever we go, we're going to keep the curl, but look at that and it's still moving. It has so much like movement, it's like oh and it smells phenomenal. Like i think, that's one thing that they really don't talk about is how good it smells like. I'M ashamed that i'm here by myself, because this smell is it needs to be shared with somebody's son. I definitely recommend this. My hair is very manageable. I mean i can't style it for the next three days, but once i can, i hope once i can. I want to be having some half of these half downsies and all those fun things but yeah. Mimi G: I love your hair, I was a hair stylist in the 80’s and the 90’s I have done my share of curly perms this lady has figured out a way to do them with out killing your hair, I saw where she was giving a class on how to do her gina curl it would be great if black stylist would take her class and learn her technique, what she charges for the curly perm really depends on how long it takes to complete the process, when I did curls I figured out a way to do them where your hair would really grow and you wouldn’t lose your hair the curl would last about 5 months and you didn’t have to keep it wet all the time

Fin: I love my 4c hair because I took the time to get to know it and there’s a million things I can do with it, when I wanna be a little lazy I just get a protective style... whoever said 4c hair isn’t manageable lied
TIFFANYBUTTERFLY: Back in the 90’s we called this a curly perm or white girl perm. I really love how it turned out your hair is beautiful!
2343: If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, then IT'S A JHERI CURL!! This look can be easily achieved on relaxed, texturized or natural hair with mousse, foam wrap or old school lotta body and a few different size perm rods. I used to roller set my hair 2-3 times a week and let it air dry. Same look-different price!! If you can't roller set your own hair, I'm sure if you have a daughter/auntie/neighbor they can!! Now, this lady is drop dead gorgeous and can probably rock any hairstyle. I'm shocked that after a failed Wave Nouveau that she was brave enough to go the chemical route again. The irony of seek g this video tonight is that I planned on finally washing and rod setting my 8-year old baby girls hair tomorrow.

After my first wash it was even more gorgeous! Dragonne Fyre: This style obviously is making you super happy, and that's the most important thing. Plus you are gorgeous and it looks great on you! (Or course, 4c is beautiful, too, but it's your hair, your money, your time, and your choice.) Reminds me of a jheri curl, but it's a lot prettier and looks like you don't have to put the activator on it, so that's a huge plus lol.

If it makes you happy and your hair goal is long loose curled hair Then it’s for you. i ain’t mad at nobody who can afford the luxury of getting the exact style they want without the stank and grease of a wave nouvea/jerri curl. This plays on women’s desire for a change more so than insecurity imo. Everybody wants to change something. Hair dye, piercings tattoos , makeup, bbl and especially wigs and braids! From ancient times to now All of those changes were used to “enhance” your appearance or provide an illusion. If you wish to limit your appearance to please ppl you’ve never met then knock yourself out. Tbh if you was truly natural and confident you would not wear wigs and extensions in the name of “protective styles” you’d embrace your texture and what it does on the “bad” hair days. You would learn how to embrace your texture in any humidity and season of year, weather and length. not tuck it away. I wish ppl would get off their high horses. Your not superior for having natural hair♀️ Issa choice you had the right to make. Give the next person the save right and Move along.

I want to start out with sorry, even though I grew up in the same world as y’all but I’m sorry we all cant be comfortable with our own natural selves. I’m just going to be honest and say yes it’s problematic. First off the price of one of these just blows my mind and then it’s going into another community, if it’s not going to the Asian/Indian community, then it’s going to the white community. Shall we get on how our dollar can’t stay in our community no more than 6 hours while others weeks and even months??? Also the only reason I speak on this bc I am a black women and I know this feeling, it’s deeply rooted into us badly, and it takes unlocking your brain of this conformed society of beauty standards to realize this. And even then it’s still hard bc this type of stuff is always shoved in the black girls face. It’s going to take a while to actually LOVE your 4c hair and that’s okay, we still got to keep pushing away from this ideology that if you have 4 type hair you just don’t have good hair. It’s okay you did this I’m not hating or dragging bc I understand it. I really do. I’ve been there and there’s been times that I’m actually like shoot well maybe I do want one, but my love for my God given naturally 4 hair over shines everything and I understand the mental trauma against ourselves so it won’t ever happen. And for those saying let her do her, we’ll she already did it and she only got one mama so nobody can tell her nothing plus she already did it and she looks happy so good for her but don’t down play or gaslight those that say we do have an issue with our natural selves and we’re just pointing that out and this is definitely an example.
