Hey you guys welcome back to my channel, so today's video that I have to share with you is kind of a two-part video. So, first of all, I am going to be doing a review for this product here. This is a scalp massager. It is by the brand by to good - and I actually got this from vanity planet and through the site Oxley, which I've talked about. Octel eat a lot of times before. So I'm sure you guys are familiar with that, but basically vanity planet carries a whole bunch of different like gadgety type of products, and this is something that they sent me. It'S a scalp massager it vibrates and all of that so I will link everything down below. But before I get into the actual review of this product, I want to talk to you guys a little bit about scalp psoriasis. So if you have been watching my channel for a while, you guys know that I've always been very vocal about the fact that I have scalp psoriasis. It is a big factor for me in determining products that I use on my scalp in particular. So, whenever I'm considering a new, shampoo or conditioner or really any hair product, I kind of have to factor in the in. I have to factor in my scalp psoriasis, because there are a lot of products that just don't work for me because of my psoriasis. I'Ve really been wanting to share a video with you guys for a long time about things that work for scalp psoriasis. But I've been kind of holding off because I've been wanting to find some like the magic cure. But but as all of you who, with scalp psoriasis know, there is no cure for scalp psoriasis and the frustrating thing about psoriasis. Is that something a treatment that you're using might work for a while and then it will just stop working. So I've had things in the past that works for me for a you know, for a few months or even a few years, and then eventually my psoriasis becomes immune to those treatments and then it just stops working for me. So it's a very frustrating condition to have so I really wanted to start this series to share with you guys. I want to talk to you a little bit more about my history with scalp psoriasis, and you know how it's affected me and how I, when I first had it in all of that, and then what I want to start doing is a kind like a trial Run with these different products that are supposed to help with relieving the symptoms of scalp psoriasis, because there is no cure, but there are definitely things that you can do in steps that you can take to help to relieve the symptoms. So they're not a severe and not as painful and not as embarrassing. So that's what I'm going to be doing about once a month. You guys should expect to see one of these videos not sure. Yet what I'm going to title it, but I'm going to be doing these monthly kind of trials or tests on different products to see if they really help with psoriasis. So, every single time I post a video where I mention in any way that I have scalp psoriasis. I get a ton of comments from people saying that either they themselves have the psoriasis or they have a spouse or child or someone very close to them. That is also dealing with scalp psoriasis and that they would love to hear more feedback from me on what I'm doing to you know to maintain my psoriasis. So I think this is I'm really hoping that this series is helpful to you guys. I know I'm always searching the internet for new information on what can help me with my psoriasis and I'm constantly trying out these products. I have you know been doing that since I was very young. I'Ve been trying different treatments and products, and things like that to help much to help me with my psoriasis and sometimes they work and sometimes they're total sales. So I really want to share this information with you guys to hopefully save you some money and some time trying products that maybe won't work so also. I do want to do a little disclaimer, because everybody's skin reacts differently. If something works for me it doesn't necessarily mean that it will work for you, but hopefully it'll give you a little bit more direction on. You know what to try. I know I have tried things that other other content creators have watched have said. Oh that's healed. My psoriasis and I've tried it and it did nothing. So keep that in mind. Everybody'S scalp reacts differently to different products, so hopefully I am able to help you find some things out that will help you in your struggle with psoriasis. So again, before I get into as the we'll review of this, I want to tell you about a little bit more about my psoriasis and kind of how it's affected me, and all of that so psoriasis does run in my family and psoriasis is one of the Autoimmune diseases that is hereditary, so it's not contagious. It'S not something that you can catch from somebody you it's a gene that is passed down, that can be dormant and then it can be very active. So for me I didn't actually first have symptoms of psoriasis. Until I was about 12, and at that time I mean you guys, can all probably relate when you're at that age you're going through puberty. Things are very stressful. At that moment, in my life I was actually being bullied very significantly and it was a very stressful and painful time in my life. So during that time, because of the high stress and the hormone changes, my scalp went from being completely clear and never having any psoriasis to completely covered. My entire scalp was covered to the point where my I had a ring all the way around my hairline. That was showing a red flaky skin. I had severe scaling from the psoriasis um, basically right here on this whole side and on this whole side, so like the size of my head, is where I usually get scaling. So it was right here on these sides. I would get the scaling. I had the ring all the way around my hairline and then I would have, and then I actually had places on my scalp that were so raw and inflamed that they would bleed and it was painful and it was embarrassing. I was already being bullied and I was already not very confident because I was going through puberty and I wasn't, you know not ready for all the changes that were coming on on. You know happening with my body and then I had the psoriasis break out and it was debilitating. It really was. I mean it was a very, very challenging time, and so my parents were great about it because I, my mom, was very very concerned. She took me to a dermatologist and she is the one that diagnosed me with psoriasis. I mostly get it on my scalp and even at that time, when it was the worst, it was mostly contained to my scalp. However, I was getting breakouts on my knees and elbows and certain areas of my arms as well. I don't get usually I don't get breakouts of my psoriasis on my torso at all. It'S usually on my limbs and my scalp, and mostly like 90 % of it is usually my scalp, so I mean I am that way. I feel like I'm a little bit lucky because my hair does cover, or at least help to cover a lot of that um. But you know when you're 12, if you look like the end of the world when you're dealing with something like that, and not only is it embarrassing, it was extremely embarrassing, but it was also extremely painful. It was bleeding and cracking and just extremely painful, but at the time that I was diagnosed with the psoriasis, my pete-r, my dermatologist at the time, suggested to my parents to do oil treatments and then to use combs to kind of remove the scales and the build-up On my scalp, which was pretty painful because you they would apply the oils, but some of the scales would be really stuck to the scalp. Still there were some that were just stuck to the actual hair, but not to the scalp anymore, but they would gently try to kind of remove it. Everything from the scalp and I feel like it, helped to a certain degree. But it definitely I lost a lot of hair during that time and it was definitely frustrating and painful. So that's kind of where my psoriasis began and I, after a while I got really um. I went to several dermatologists got lots of topical type types of treatments that, by the way, those topical treat creams that they prescribed to you are extremely difficult to apply to a scalp underneath your hair. They work great for embody psoriasis, but for scalp psoriasis. Try applying a cream to your scalp to your full scalp. It is impossible, it takes hours, your arms get tired, and it's just and it's not that effective. Your hair soaks up a lot of the ointment, so your actual scalp is not getting as much of the treatment. So so I after a while, I just got really fed up with going to doctors, and I stopped, I haven't seen a dermatologist in years yeah. So I I started getting this right since when I was 12, I'm now 36, so I've been dealing with with it for 24 years and as I've mentioned, there are certain treatments that have worked for a time and then stopped working. But I have found in general that treatments that are more holistic in nature have been way more effective for my scalp than anything that I was ever prescribed or any sort of over-the-counter medications or like any of the scalp shampoos that are specifically for psoriasis are the Worst, they sting and they irritate my scalp so so bad and they never really work for a very long period of time. So I have definitely found that the more holistic herbal types of remedies that I've found continue to work for a longer period of time. So that's definitely something I could suggest to you. Guys is looking into more holistic types of treatment. There definitely been, for me at least far more effective, so anyway, that's a lot of story time, but I just basically wanted to give you guys a history on how my psoriasis has kind of evolved over the years and there's definitely been times where it's almost completely Gone away, and then it will come back in full force and I definitely feel like stress is a huge, huge contributor to psoriasis. I do notice it in the times where I am more stressed out. That is when my flare-ups get really really bad. So if you guys have any more questions about my history with psoriasis or anything like that, that I didn't cover, leave those questions down below and be happy to answer it. But I really want to get into the review of this product today. So the reason that I ordered this when I saw this on my oculi store is obviously because of my psoriasis. I felt like a scalp massager might be a good tool to help with my psoriasis treatment, so they specifically, I mean they don't market this to be a thrives of treatment in any way they basically just market it as a massager to help you really stimulate your Scalp a lot of times the build-up that is on the scout from scalp psoriasis is: it needs to be exfoliated away, but you want to do it in a gentle way. You don't want to you, don't want to coat your hair and oil and pick out it with a comb. Trust me, you don't want to do that. I'Ve done it. Just irritates your scalp more! You don't want to do that. What you want to do is to gently exfoliate, especially when you're in the shower, that's a great time to do it, and this is a good tool for that, because it does have the vibration which I already mentioned, and then it has these silicone. The silicone spikes kind of but they're very soft - they don't feel too sharp or pokey. They feel very gentle. So what I use this for I've used it quite a few times now. I'Ve had this for about two weeks that I've been using it daily in the shower, and I've also used it when I did an oil treatment. So what I do is I get in the shower. I get my hair wet and I apply my shampoo and rub it in the way. I would normally rub in my shampoo and then before I rinse away my shampoo. I turn this on and I give myself a scout Mushaf, massage I'm going to show you guys kind of how I do it. It'S a lot easier when your hair is wet, then when it's dry it doesn't work as good on dry hair, but I will show you how how it works. So you turn it on and then you're just going to gently massage in little circular motions - and I just do what I do is I kind of go around my ear and I'll just do stripes with my head and then I work my way across kind of Like when you vacuum - and you know you go over one area - that's what I'm doing I'm going kind of like this all the way around and then I do it a second time around and I've been using that daily, as I mentioned in the shower - and I'm Definitely noticing a difference with my hair. What I'm noticing so far is. I do still have some scales on this side. None on this side at all, but I had a lot more when I started using this, I feel like this is helping to really loosen those scales up, loosen their grip on my hair and on my scalp, so that they can then kind of fall away, and Then also I have, as I mentioned, use this with an oil treatment. So for that, usually I try to my oil treatments once a week, but honestly, I've been so busy recently I've only been doing them about once a month, but what I do is I take a mixture of oils which I can show you guys that in a Different video, if you're interested - and I spray it on to my scalp and I try to cover my full scalp. So I you know section off areas and spray it on directly to the scalp and then once I've completely applied to my scalp, and I feel like it's pretty saturated, then what I did is I took this and did the same kind of stimulation with this, that I do in the shower, but I did it a few more times like I really took the time to really massage my entire scalp very very thoroughly when I had the oils on. The reason is because, when you stimulate your scalp with massage, it does bring blood flow to your scalp, and when you have those oils on your scalp, that's a good time to stimulate your scalp. It will help with the regrowth of your hair and just help your hair follicles be more healthy and psoriasis definitely damages your hair follicles, and I feel like anything I can do to help them to be healthier is really important, so I definitely feel like that has Helped with that, oh and I did start to say, I do feel like it's making a difference in my actual health of my hair, I feel like my hair is a little stronger than it used to be. It'S just feeling a lot healthier, so I definitely feel like this is not a cure for psoriasis, but I feel like this is a really good tool to help manage the psoriasis. I feel like, if you add this into your regiment with some other products that you're using you will notice a difference now also, this is not, as I mentioned just for psoriasis sufferers, if you don't have psoriasis. I still think this is a really nice product. It will help your grow, hair grow, healthier and stronger and quicker because it is stimulating the scalp, like I mentioned, and bringing that blood flow to your follicles, which will help them then to grow your hair faster. So I feel like this is just a really really good idea. I really like the idea of this product and I definitely recommend trying it, especially if you do have psoriasis and you're looking for something to help with that, and I've been really really happy with mine. Also, one more thing that I've been using this for one of the problems with psoriasis is that your scalp gets very dry and very itchy, so I'm constantly scratching my scalp, I'm sure you guys have noticed that in my videos, I'm always like always all day long. I can't help it. It'S just irritated all the time so sometimes when it mic it genus gets really really bad. If I'm at home I'll come into my room and grab this and on my dry hair, I will go ahead and massage my scalp a little bit with this, I'm just careful not to step on my dry hair at all, and that takes a way to achieve. If it's just like it brings the blood flow back, and I don't know what it is, but it definitely helps it to not be as a G and it's far better than scratching at my scalp with my nails, because that damages my scalp even more, which will Cause more inflammation and more dandruff and more you know it just exaggerated the problem. So that's what I've been doing when it gets really if it's like, where I can't stop scratching it. I come up to my room and I grab this and give myself a quick massage. That is what I wanted to share with you guys today. I really wanted to talk to you guys about this product, but also I want to start this series. Please give me some feedback. Let me know if you guys are interested in this series. I definitely have some other products that I am trying out right now that I could share with you guys in the next round, but if you guys want to see that give this video a thumbs up, leave me those comments down below and let me know - and I hope you guys enjoyed watching have a wonderful day I'll see you guys in my next video bye, guys

MsCookie1981: I also suffer from scalp psoriasis so I'm really looking forward to this being a series. Thank you so much for discussing this topic and helping those of us with the same condition.

Riata Mason: Are you still planning on doing this as a series?? I am totally interested! I have scalp psoriasis and would love to watch your reviews and see how products worked for you

Tansiaa: Psoriasis is very new to me, I recently got it after taking some medicines , And I seriously hate myself so much because of this:( you are so strong . I'm really looking forward to this being a series. Thank you so much for discussing this topic and helping those of us with the same condition.

Brittany Converse: I have scalp psoriasis and my mom has it too. I had a similar story with itching and scratching my scalp at a younger age and getting bullied about it. We've both tried a few treatments, but we have never been able to find good reviews on products and end up spending lots of money. I would love to hear about your oil treatments also. Thank you so much for this video! This will be a great series for my mom and I to watch together.

Karen Brown: Thank you so much Lisa it is a very difficult thing to discuss I really respect you for bringing this topic to the beauty community there are a lot of us who do have it and stress does make it worse breathing and just relaxing feeling the stress coming in and stopping before it starts helped a lot too and I did get that first aid Cream that you recommended and it's really helping on my legs a lot thank you so much for your courage this is a difficult topic

Shannon-Lee Beshara: THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I would love a regular series on this issue. I kept nodding my head to everything you were saying. I despise my psoriasis. The constant itching and flaking is just a nightmare.

Marisa Jane: Thanks for sharing what has been working for you. It’s funny because my scalp psoriasis first became a problem when I was 12 and I’m going to be 36 in May. 7th grade was by far the hardest year of my adolescence because the two girls I thought were my best friends turned on me for no apparent reason and relentlessly bullied me. It was so hard as I was also going through all of the hormone changes and my psoriasis became a major issue. My mom took me into a doctor but the doctor didn’t know what it was. She tested me for ring worm which came back negative of course and she kind of shrugged her shoulders and sent me on my way. For years I went untreated. Using medicated selsun blue was the only treatment the doctor had recommended to me and that did absolutely nothing. I noticed that my flare ups got worse during times of stress. A couple of years ago my fiancé passed away unexpectedly. My flare ups were the worst they had ever been in my entire life and would even bleed. I’ve since been to a dermatologist and have been doing the hot oil treatments but they are such a hassle to do. Thanks for sharing what’s been working for you. I’m definitely going to get one of those massagers!

Carlene T: Love this video. I was diagnosed with psoriasis about a year ago on my hands and I have it on the behind my neck where it meets my hairline and it's been a pain, especially when the dry, winter air completely dries out my dry, sensitive, eczema skin. It's been under control with medication but I would love to know more holistic ways to keep the flaring at a minimum. I love that you're educating with what you learned, it helps with the stigma that having psoriasis comes with and anyone else with psoriasis knows how helpful it is to get new insight. Thank you! Love your other videos too!

Betty Ann Cardinal: Yes would love to learn more and some of the natural remedies that you've tried... I can feel the the struggle and pain that you have gone through as I do have a daughter that struggles through this condition... thank you and yes to the whole series...

Lindy Frigard: Thank you so much for this video. Even just you mentioning it in videos in general is so helpful. I have so much shame and embarrassment around it and I don't know anyone else with it. It is so nice to feel like I'm not the only one who is constantly looking for something to relieve my scaly scalp.

Angela Foreman-Bobier: I had my first flare up at age 37 all on my scalp. I then progressed to psioratic arthritis. I've been on a weekly injection of methotrexate for the past few months. It cleared both the arthrits and the scalp psoriasis. My hair is growing back too. The only drawback is the drug causes me to feel sick for 1-2 days each week. Keep doing this series. Its important we share what works for us.

EJ Granville: I have psoriasis and I was diagnosed at 16. I was told when I went down the doctors when my scales on my head were very noticeable and made me really self-conscious. I wanted to know what oils you use on your scalp to see if any of those would work for me because I have only had to deal with this for nearly a year. I started getting psoriasis not long after my mum was diagnosed with breast cancer and I was in the middle of important exams. I hope you can reply so I can see if any of those products may help my scalp

engelneen: thank you for doing this! i have seborrheic dermatitis which I know is different but this will be helpful. thank you so so much. I hope you find relief.

Nay Smith: Thank you SO much , I have psoriasis of the scalp. So embarrassing the flaking then if i sweat the dead skin makes a weird smell. Thanks for building the courage to share your story . I have scoriatic arthritis my scalp is the worst part I have started humira skin in hope for improvement , along with using the brush but mine doesn't vibrate its manual.

DanaW: Thank you!!! My hair is trying to grow back after chemo and I'm totally interested in natural ways to improve the health of my scalp. I want one of those massagers!!!❤

squirrly001: Hi Lisa, thanks for this... I bought one and started using it. Also can you let us know what oils you use for your hot oil treatments and of course holistic shampoos and conditioners that you have found.

B: Absolutely, please more of these videos!

Ali Slater: I had the same issues, later in life I learned I have several autoimmune diseases, which is common if you have one. last year a dermatologist finally healed it for me. it's a topical liquid in a pointed nose squeeze nozzle, fluocinonide. 05%. you apply to affected areas and within hours, those areas peel off. after that I'm good till the next flare and I'll go through the same process again. I love scalp massages! I'm definitely looking into this!

AllieMama2.0: Great video! I absolutely love your channel! Keep the videos coming! :)

Amanda L: yes please do more scalp psoriasis videos! thank you!

Elsie Dyer: Thanks for the tip. My daughter send me this product video this morning and looking forward to trying it. Would love to know the oils you use for you scalp as well.

TarasSoCalledLife 621: I think this video will be extremely helpful for people who are going through the same thing that you are. I also think that you are a very brave, beautiful person, and a wonderful mother. Keep up the fantastic work and keep your stress level down. ❤️

BeachyBlonde614: I didn't know about psoriasis at all. I don't suffer from it, but it was still interesting to hear about it. Sorry you had to go through that crap when you were younger. Love your vids!

Amanda L: Yes please continue this series!!

Dogcatmom: Thank you for sharing this, I think this may help my daughter too I'm going to look into it- love your lip color

MissCaz: if you have it to try in the states, Lush 'soak and float' shampoo bar has really worked for me recently, and doesn't strip my hair like medicated shampoos. for anyone suffering with it on other areas Lush Dream Cream moisturiser is also ace. Great video, thanks for sharing your story x

lalalaCaribe: wow ! this was very informative!! thank you !

Slashed Beauty: Holy crap girl.. you do NOT look 36. On that note, I have a very itchy scalp and had to look up pictures to see if maybe I had psoriasis. It doesn't look like I do, though I do get eczema on other parts of my body. This gadget in general looks like it still would help clear up build up and dandruff that I experience. Great video and new sub!

R Crotty: The best way to help us understand YOUR scalp psoriasis would be to show us YOUR condition with each video !

Loraine Mcgillivray: I have eczema and often get it on my scalp. Even if it's not in an active flare up my scalp is always really dry. I have really thick hair and the itch can be maddening. I don't have dandruff just a dry/itchy scalp, so treatments for dandruff don't work for me. I'm allergic to coal tar shampoos as I found to my cost. Having thick course textured wavy hair I can get away with using masks right up to my scalp, without weighing my hair down too much, but I appreciate that would be difficult for finer hair. I use a really gentle shampoo with mask or a cleansing conditioner to wash my hair as harsh sulphates are a no go. There are liquids now you can get from your doctor especially formulated for the scalp area (including mild steroid treatments), just to make you aware if you haven't seen anybody in a while. I do use oil treatments from scalp to ends of my hair as well, but I also take omegas internally to try to moisturise from the inside out. The scalp massager looks interesting but I usually use my fingers to massage product etc in. I like the ojon oil as well as coconut oil, jojoba, avocado etc etc, but olive oil will do in a pinch. I think bringing attention to skin problems can only be a good thing as it may help younger viewers who are struggling, or even finding something new for older viewers. I would encourage anyone who is really struggling though to speak to a doctor. Dermatology products are improving all the time and they may be able to prescribe something to help. Best wishes.

s4andy63: I would love for you to do a series on this.

Cynthia Glunt: Love you Lisa! You are amazing :)

Trudy: This was great. My daughter has it and its exactly as you say. Terrible problem and I beleive it does get worse with stress. She also had it on her nails its gone now as she is now 21. She is using a product from the doctor that seems to work but you have to be consistant with it. I will very interested to hear what other products you try. The massager and the oils seems to be a great idea I will need to find one for her. Thanks

NUR DHANIAH Zainul Ikram: I've been facing scalp psoriasis my whole life.

iampeoning: Hi. So what do you use or put on your scalp everyday to help with the dryness? Thanks.

Psoriasis Warrior: I had scalp psoriasis for over 20 years. Dietary changes can also help with clearing it long term. I had it for 20 years and now I am completely clear and staying clear. I'll have to try the massager.

Carolyn R: My husband got psoriasis after being bit by a tick and got Lyme Disease. I think it trigger autoimmune disease.. We cut gluten and meat.. Cleaned up diet and it helped his body heal.. Also used oregano essential oil for the lyme and other supplements.

Sandy Fox: Thank you for educating us, I found this interesting to learn about. Also you have perfect eyebrows

Sherry Gonzalez: The left arm of my mother has a decade-old psoriasis. It`s dark red colored and is huge. She used this psoriasis treatment methods for about Two weeks as well as found that there`s no more redness and also scaling on that area. Got this tip thanks to Google, name calls Kαyden Molonduz best wishes

Linda Viljoen: Hi hope you will still read this coz i'm commenting on your video in 2021,having the worst flare up for many months almost a full year now.You seem to be able to color your hair and i'm jealous coz im unable to dye my hair fully even with the more"natural" type hair dyes, like free of certain ingredients sigh:/ seems to be one of my triggers, anyway have u ever had to use any severe type medications for this? Been prescribed some recently and tbh it makes me nervous coz ive never had to used it before and from what ive researched on it made me even more concerned. Hope to hear from you soon<3

Irina Tsay: This is a great and helpful video because my husband does have scalp psoriasis, and I am doing my research about the products that might help him a bit at least.

Allison Sulouff: Does anyone have tips for getting the oil out of your roots after an oil treatment?

Tina Roon: Thanks for sharing your scalp psoriasis story. I have it to & im looking for a diy way to deal with it without using chemicals. Please share other ways you have used to treat it. Currently using organic coconut oil is helping.

Tori Holtman: I would love more on this I'm 23 and have been dealing with this since I was 10 I need help with scalp psoriasis and skin psoriasis plz help thx

sue cathcart: trauma set mine off on my body when I was 16 - and now it's manageable(ish) on my body but my scalp I am now starting wearing hats and scarves to try and hide the fact that I am actually losing some of my hair - it's so awful but we do need more publicity

Tracy Saywell: My daughter is 13 and we were advised by a dermatologist to do a tar/oil treatment and combing and stopped because it was too painful for both of us. She has had it since she was 6 and has went the last 3 years with no treatment. I want to help her but am lost where to start. I've bought he psoriasis shampoos etc and she won't use them. I was looking up this scalp massager when I found your video and your description is identical to what she is going through now, as when you were 12. I am going to order the massager and would love to know what oils you use to help her. (desperate mom)

Beth’s Makeup Diary: I've had it for the same amount of time but not as bad...I would get it concentrated in the back of my head towards the nape... it spread the more I itched it... I only itch now when I'm nervous driving... I wash my hair almost every day and dry my hair... I used to air dry my hair all the time and use mousse because it's curly... but when I started to blow drying and straightening it it seemed to reduce the psoriasis down to the originating area... I'm trying to go curly again but if it comes back I'll go back to wearing my hair straight...thanks for sharing!

Dilaram Abdurazak: Do you have a particular diet for scalp psoriasis? Or what should be avoid? Pls, I need your advice...

Michael Johnson: You are so gorgeous

Deme Rock: Lenghty introduction, I fell asleep

Laura Cashin-Kane: No wonder your psoriasis is still bad - you should NOT, I repeat NOT be washing your hair everyday!!!! Constantly irritating your scalp and not letting it rest is just exasperating the situation. I've, like you, had scalp psoriasis since I was 12 (31 now) and you just have to commit to only washing your hair once a week. It's truly the only thing that works, your head needs those natural oils it produces and washing everyday strips them completely. TRUST ME!
