Hi, you guys welcome back to my channel Jamila here and today. I'M gon na be showing you guys my first time using flaxseed gel and also my process of making it and we're just gon na get right into the video, and I hope you enjoy. So I'm not even gon na front. This took me two times you know to try and make, and I feel like I still could have done it better, but this is what I did. I took two and a half cups of water brought that to a boil, and I added 1/4 cup of these flax seeds. Whole flax seeds and you're gon na want to make sure that you stir this often because the flax seeds they sort of like to stick to the bottom of the pan, so just make sure you're stirring it and you're staying next to the pot so that it Doesn'T boil over or the flax seeds don't get stuck to the pan, and so I pretty much let this boil for about 10 to 15 minutes, and my thing is: this is not really getting really thick like slimy. It was getting thicker than water, but it wasn't getting very slimy, like other people's flax seed gel seems to turn out too so anyways. I just continued to let it boil until I saw getting thick as you can see here, it is thicker, but it's not exactly like a big slimy kind of consistency like I was trying to get it to me and then, when it finally got to some kind Of thickness it was just too convinced Darrin and I was like once I take the gel out of this pot. It'S not gon na be enough product for me to work with not as much as I was hoping for. So I ended up adding a cup and a half of water into the pot and letting that boil again and then I just sat that aside and let it cool off. I probably just left it alone for like two hours or so, because I had some other stuff to do. Then, when I came back to check on the flaxseed gel, it was thick enough and something that I could work with. So this is a weight cap actually, but you can use a stocking if you want to or a cheesecloth, I'm sure you're going to want to put your cooled, flexi gel into the stocking or whatever you're, using to separate the gel from the seeds and then you're. Just gon na squeeze and separate it and I actually switch to putting it into the pot, because this is obviously it's not wide enough to catch the flax seed gel and it is very messy. So I ended up just putting it into the pot which worked a lot better, and so here is my flaxseed gel it's a little darker, I think than it needed to be, because it's probably because I kept it on the stove for so long, but either way It worked and yeah I'm definitely gon na. Try it again. So maybe next time it'll turn out a little better in color and from what I've looked up online, you can reuse your flax seeds to make another batch of flax seed gel. So I'm just gon na store these in the refrigerator for next time. All right. So I just washed my hair - and I have my aloe vera gel here. I'M gon na use this Ali cane naturals lemongrass leave-in conditioner from moisturizer today, and then I'm gon na use. This lemongrass oil by leaky naturals, and then I have the star of the day this flax seed gel and I have to say this - looks a little darker than the other flax seed gels that I've seen um. You know that Pete other people have made. So I don't know - maybe I just boiled it too much, but we're gon na work with it, so I'm gon na start with this side. First, oh my hairs, so soft put a little aloe just a little bit. Some moisturizer do like briefs raised. I guess so. I'M like, I can't be bothered to do a wash another day, so I'm going to just like do a nice Lake line, but I do plan to do like a wash and go with flaxseed gel. But today I just I was not trying to do that. Yeah. I just want to see how well this works. What'S the whole night, the curl definition. So that's my goal for today, but I definitely plan to come like in do a whole wash go with flaxseed gel for sure all right, yuck doesn't look too great, but it's just flaxseed gel. So it's okay, alright! So I'm just gon na get a bit on my hands can get a little more. I guess so it's going in really nice um. He has a nice little amount of slip goes in really easy and he's really giving a lot of curl definition and shine. I mean my hair is wet, so I don't know about that yet, but so this is what my hair is. Looking like and yeah, I'm really interested to see how my bun is gon na come out. Looks good gon na get a nice glob. So I think I'm gon na put some oil in this section right now, good, like four sprays in my palm, I'm just gon na lightly twist this, so I can tuck it away while I put the product in the rest of my hair all right, so I'm Just gon na finish putting this Balinese products in the rest of my hair and then I'm gon na put my hair into a bun and see what happens, see how it turns out all right. So I'm almost done comply my flaxseed gel the last section. So I have gel all in my hair and I just finished putting oil in it, so I'm just gon na show you guys what this is. Looking like, it's giving a lot of definition feels good ping in my hair. So now I'm just gon na try and get this in a bun. I do have some fresh steel like this hair is still frizzy and I used a lot of this. Like half the jars gone all right, bun time go, get a little more gel. So I'm just going to stop here and trying to smooth this here. That'S brushing really nicely should have a little curly piece, so I'm just gently brushing my hair to smooth it down. Little more chill, I'm just gon na take my dinner and brush just to smooth this out cuz. I don't really care about the rest of my ear being smooth, but I do want the front of my ear to be smooth. So now I'm going to alright. So just like, with any other gel I'm gon na, let this sit for a few minutes about three minutes and then I'm gon na come back and see how laid my hair is alright. So my hair has been setting for a couple of minutes, and hopefully you know this part is set and ready to go is what my hair is looking like. I think my hair is a little damp up here, but it's pretty much that in place - and I was gon na - do a button. But this is how you tell it actually looks sort of cute. So I guess I'll, just rock the ponytail and then I just popped out some pieces here and these definitely these curls definitely have hold like I'm filling them in there's a lot of hold on these curls and they're dry. All right, you guys, so that is it. That is my little. I don't know. Tryon of the Flexi gel that I made and, as you can see, my hair is laid. My curls are poppin and yeah. My ponytail even looks good. My hair is wet but yeah. My hair is looking really good, so I'm definitely going to try this again into a washing Doh and I'm definitely gon na try and make this again cuz. I don't know I feel, like I could've made this a better way. I had some difficulty making this the first time so yeah. That is it you guys. I really like this. I'M super fascinated by this gel. I'M really excited about this, because it's a natural product that you can use to do your hair and you know no crazy chemicals in it um that is it you guys, if you have any questions or comments, be sure to leave me down below I'll, be sure To reply comment like and subscribe, if you enjoyed this video and as always thank you so much for watching and I'll see you all next time, bye,

Kim Thevenin: Once the flax seeds cools, you can mix it with the aloe vera, to save time and you can keep it in the fridge for whatever you want to use it. Also next time boil the seeds with some cloves. And strain it like normal. The cloves is a extra power house for the hair.

New Life Tabernacle Bog Walk Jamaica: I realize most persons wait until the seeds cool before straining. However its best once you boil it you can strain it hot. It strains out better tgat way. You just let it cool and it will thinken up. When you boil flaxseed at times it doesn't seem to be thickning up after 15 min to 20 min but after straining hot as mentioned and then cooling it you'll see it. That how i do it works. Too much work to cool it and the try strain. It slips through strainer when hot.

Coco: I've been using flaxseed as a gel for many years including on all my children and I can't stress the benefits of this little beautiful seeds. My kids hair wan't stop growing. Its amazing..

Nicole: Your results are beautiful! I used to do flaxseed gel but I used to apply it to wet hair and so it would get very messy. I have a sensitive scalp and most gel I used causes itching after a couple of days. I think I'm going to try flaxseed gel again using this method

Nixf01: Hi, thanks for this vid! I had a similar experience first time I made flaxseed gel in that it came out much darker than I expected from the vids I'd seen previously. Turns out there's 2 types of flaxseeds, brown and golden... guess which ones I'd been using! Also, if you use the golden ones and add hibiscus it's comes out a lovely pink colour, unless you're heavy handed like me, in which case it comes out properly RED...

Coco Laní: You've now convinced me to buy some flaxseeds and make this gel! Your hair had sooooo much shine and definitiongirl your hair looks bomb

Abby Mit: The gel is watery when hot but it thickens as it cools....so you don't have to boil it as much....it would've made way more than you had

Ramira Hickerson: your hair is so healthy and curly, thanks for reminding me about flax seed and how great it works on natural hair.

LyricSis M: The flax seed will thicken naturally after a short boil. And it’s easier to strain on its thinner state. All the best to you - great video.

Abena: Most IMPORTANT question: How long did the curls stay in?

Whitney Kihara: I saw this Flaxseed thing over the weekend and got shocked. Here in Kenya I bought 100g at 0.75 dollars, divided the portion into two and now I have almost 300ml of the gel. I can't wait to try and show this powerful ingredient! Thanks for showing us how to apply it

Shay: I boil my flaxseeds in the stocking so it’s less messy

Kim Killett: Hair looks Beautiful!Flaxseed tutorial was very informative. Loved the whole video. Thank You! One Love

Adesuwa Kathy: The final look is so pretty!

cookiemum123 Chocolate Mondays: ❤ your transparency I had some of the same issues with getting the flaxseed to make enough. Your hair turned out really elegant. I'm thinking i can rock an up do similar to your slicked down ponytail. Thanks!

Sha Mirah: I made soooooo much of this reboiling the seeds plus i strained it while it was hot it makes it easier

Angela Pate: That low bun looks so beautiful on you!!!! ❤️❤️

Patricia Anderson: It also works if it's a bit watery. I generally get just enough for one application with 1c of water and 2tbs of flaxseeds. It stinks after awhile so I don't make to much at once

Look Up and Marvel: Actually it's better to boil until slightly thick. It can be poured into a metal strainer easily. Thick is not good as the cooling down process makes it thicker. Strain while hot and it works perfectly. It will continue to thicken In the container. No need to use cloth strainer. What a mess that can be!!!

Rhead Sparks: Jamila your hair looks great! Thank You for reminding me of flaxseed jel 's usage! I am going to make some Flaxseed Gel tommorow.

Yvonne Staub: I like how you prep your hair ahead of the gel. Beautiful!!(*_*)

C&C: Your hair even before applying is sooo pretty! So much shine

Bizz: You let it cool after few minutes of pouring the flaxseed into the boiling water. Then set it aside to cool. As it cools off, the watery consistency of flaxseed begins to thicken up. Then you pour into a tight sieve or stocking to squeeze out more of the gel.

Sasha Jordan: I love how your hair came out. I guess nature is the way to go. Flaxseed is way better than the regular gel they sell. With Flaxseeds you don’t have to worry about chemicals.

Alisha Wilson: I tried this and it gives me the best definition it’s absolutely way better than the other gels I’ve tried.

Rf B: Your hair is literally AMAZING thanks for the video

Talks With Valencia: Heey ur flaxseed gel turned out fine, that's what makes your video stand out being different from the crowd ❤ your hair turned out beautiful hun curls are poppin

Tracy Lee-Garshong: I don’t know much about the gel thingy but I read you can use 1/4 cup of the seeds and 3 cups of water and when it begins to foam, you take it off the stove while it’s watery. After it cools, it gets thick and slimy.

CJaguar AHEAD Mission Possible: Thanks a ton! Prayerfully, my daughters-in-law and granddaughters will use this great info. God blessings to you.

Great choice in using Lemon Grass. May I ask, How or what product did you use to clean your hair ? And what products to hydrate it ? Where I live I pay attention to hair. The damage that I see or the Dullness color. My experience is " The Science of The Living Hair " What's inside the Scalp and what Lives on Top. Thanks for demonstrating part of your Curriculum.
