Hello, everyone i am conique parker, executive, master, educator and creative artist for farooq systems. Thank you guys for joining me today, so on today, what i'm going to do is share with you my foolproof technique for a guaranteed flawless, silky, silk press today on my beautiful model. Asia, which is also my clients, we're going to perform a silk press out, i'm going to go through the techniques with you, the tools that we use and the products asia is actually a 3b uh texture. This technique that we're going to do with the silk press. Today you can actually use it on all hair, textures and types. So, let's get started. First, we're going to do is section. Her hair asia has already been pre-prepped, so we've already shampooed her we've deep conditioned her we've added a silk, of course, because you cannot do a silk press unless you actually use silk and we are the creators of silk okay. So what i did was shampoo her first, i of course deep conditioned. I brought her under the dryer with the silk press in along with the deep conditioning treatment. I allowed her to be on the dryer for about 10 minutes and then i allowed her to cool down for five with a processing cap. I took her back to the shampoo bowl rinsed her out and then sectioned the hair in four sections. Our keratin mist is an excellent product for detangling natural hair. It'S also a porosity equalizer, it's an excellent product to use on all your naturals. So when i brought her back from the shampoo bowl, i detangled her with the keratin mist and i put the silk back in she's under a cool dryer for about five minutes. Five to ten minutes. I'D say you want the hair to at least be about 70 dry okay. So when i bring her back from under the dryer i'll section, the hair in four sections today, i'm going to use our chi lava dryer, our lava dryer actually has a comb attachment. That'S excellent for natural hair because it allows this dryer comb to lock on so no worrying about the tool getting too hot or warping the comb attachment where it keeps falling off. That'S not going to be our concern today. Okay, so i've already sectioned her into four quadrants, i'm going to take sub-sections now and use my chi lava, dryer, okay. So let's get started okay. So what we've done is completely dried. All four quadrants of our hair with our chi lava dryer. The thing that we love about the dryer, of course, is the comb, because the comb attachment has two different teeth: i'm able to get really close around the hairline and the nape and be able to pull all the way through her hair. One of the great things also about doing it so press with our lava dryer is the fact that our tool, our lava dryer, does most of the work, so the dryer is going to do 70 of the work. Actually, we want to make sure we have a lot of tension on the hair, especially textured hair, so that it can actually really get bone straight. Our next step is to use our lava or our g2 flat irons, one of the things that you're going to notice, of course, with our lava for one. That is a patent, and the plates are infused with ceramic and volcanic ash on the lava and it actually comes in two different sizes and our g2. Our g2 is infused with ceramic and titanium plates, so both of these are going to give you two different looks the g2 works for me, in my opinion, better on textured hair, that's textured between a three and a four. Our lava will work better on textured hair patterns from one to two you'll get a more silky finish with the lava and with the g2 iron you're going to get a fullness and still a silky finish just two different ways, and i'm actually going to show you That so, let's get started. What i'm going to do first is use our silk. Our chi silk shine infusion and you can't do a silk press again without using silk, i'm going to use a dime size, i'll emulsify it in my hands and i'm going to go through her hair with it. Look how shiny it already looks and make sure i get it all the way through all right. So we're going to use two of my favorite stylers, the first one is the chief 44 iron guard style and stay. This gives a firm, yet buildable hole on the hair and the second one is the chi black seed. Flexible, hold spray. I love this combination of these two stylers. It gives me again a buildable hold on the hair without flaking up making their hair hard and still have a lot of movement in it. The very first one, the styling stay, i'm gon na just take the uh, can and mist over the hair with it very lightly. You see that i'm also kind of a distance back, so i'm not getting any type of product build up directly. On top of the hair, okay and i'll, take my comb i'll comb through that section. Also, a key to any of the silk presses is the sectioning we're gon na do thin section parting, okay, so bring your hand down for me, asia, please, i'm gon na start at the nape of the neck. I love to start these in a v section working on both sides at the same time, but first i'm going to show you what the g2 flat iron would look like once we pass it through her hair. So right before i use my tool, i'm going to take the black seed and i'm going to go on top of her hair top and bottom again very lightly. So i'm going to actually set my tool for 4 15.. One of the cool things about this g2 iron is the fact that once you cut it on, you can control the heat settings by doing automatic adjustment. It has one for fine, medium and coarse hair. The coarse hair will always show once you press through it. It will show actually red and then you can go and control the heat settings by either adding more to it or decreasing it. Okay. So what i'll do now? You want to make sure you're using a heat resistant cone you'll apply tension with the g2 iron that you're gon na. Let the tool do most of the work, so i'm actually just getting as close to the hairline as i possibly can. I'M closing my iron and i'm taking my comb and pressing through and guiding it. Let'S do another section for you same thing again, taking my i'll take my tool again notice too. Each of the sub sections are very thin. I'M going to again take my tool. I do not close it until i have it as close to the nape area, as i possibly can, and then i close it in a glide so again underneath as close as we can pull down using our comb. I'M sorry using our comb as a guide and pulling out okay, so this is actually the g2 we're gon na. Let it cool one of the key things also with your silk press is to make sure you allow the hair to cool before you comb through it. That'S what i notice a lot of stylists do as soon as they flat iron. You want to run your comb through. It don't do that, allow the hair to cool the same way you would with. If you were curling it okay, so we're gon na. Let it cool and we're gon na move to the very front quadrant, so you can actually see what the lava looks like so again for the front. Quadrant we're gon na do a dime to a quarter size of our silk shine infusion, i'm gon na emulsify. It we're gon na make sure that we start at the ends go around to the top of the hairline around. The edges, of course, just really make sure that we get the silk all the way through the hair, because why you know why? Because we're not doing a still press unless you're using silicon, okay comb through it again, one of my favorites, the chi 44 iron guard styling stay we're going to actually just miss the hair, and then i comb through when i'm starting around the front. I love to also work in beads again going around the hairline first small section and then right above the ear, always guys. Remember the key to your silk press again is a smoothing technique that you want to make sure you're doing thin sections. Our heat on our lava tool is at 420 degrees. Before i do that, i'm going to take my tea black seed, flexible hold and i'm going to miss the hair again also notice how far back i was because i don't want the product just to sit on top of the hair okay comb through. So this is going to be the comb out on the g2 iron, so you can actually see - and this will be the comb out with the lava okay. So if i want to put them side by side, you can, if you can see really good you'll, see that there is a more silky finish with the lava and the g2 has a different type of texture and finish. So it's really up to you and preference. Okay, all right, so, let's finish hi guys we're back we're finishing up. The last two passes on her hair. I'Ve been using our g2 iron, the one and one-fourth inch when i use the top section of her head when i'm getting ready to do my iron pass. I want to pull up and out so up over directing and then pulling straight down, remember to let it just fall and cool by itself and the very last one same thing again: the very top section i'm gon na pull up and then straight down i'll, allow It to cool and then what i'll do is take each of these sections and marry them together. So i'll comb, the hair down. So i'm going to take it again, mid shaft, close the iron and pull it all the way down. I'M mirroring that whole section together and then one more time here in the front again mid, shaft close my iron and keep it moving marrying that whole section together see how that nicely seals the cuticle off and let it cool off i'll. Do that. For the remaining section of the hair, then i'll go back in okay, guys, that's going to be your technique for a flawless silky, silk press on behalf of rook systems. I am conique parker! missnicolemarley: I like the silk before pressing, then adding the finishing spray after I’m done pressing. Adding too many products beforehand makes my hair too oily and flaky the next day.

Briana M: My theory is: I think the producer or owner asked the stylist to use each product on the hair again at then end to get more shots (because why else would she continue to layer product on like that?) Causing this silk press to take longer and the model was tired af, that smile says it all. She was OVER IT! And she knew her hair was fried at this point. The stylist and model seemed irritated and uncomfortable in the last bit. I’m in shock that she layered so much product on over and over for a silk press.

Nicole B: I love this model. She is giving us her best smile. Go ahead girl!

Lexi ImaWriter: I would have liked to see Type 4. Beautiful tho.

Rose Jackson: I love weighed down hair because it stays straighter longer! But this model's hair looks sticky. Her hair looked clumped together with no movement. The hair was already straight from the blow dryer, but then you used a 415 degree flat iron to burn it straight. No wonder her hair is heat damaged!

Chantel.Cuts.Up: Great video! Can you provide links to the tools & products used? Thank you

Marion Logan: I wonder if people realize not everyone likes their hair the exact same way. I prefer the "weighed down" look. I get tired of having perfect hair then opening the door to the salon and my hair is blown everywhere. Or walking out into the humidity and the puffy challenging my gangsta.

Whitney Hodge: Lovely power point presentation with educational notes . The speaker as well has a good strong & clear voice. Awesome job & sending blessings from Texas.

ISHTAR: Her hair was practically straight before the blow dry. Came out nice!

Summertime Sadness: The point of a silk press is for it to be silky and have movement, shine and flexibility. This is stiff, you can see the line of the straightener and it doesn’t look natural. I used the silk by Chi and never understood why my hair looked so weighed down and sticky and that’s exactly why. The products are way too heavy. Even if you use a drop your hair still is heavy and if you put it in a ponytail and remove the holder, it’ll stay that way until you wash your hair. I use a new product now and it looks like I was born with straight hair, it’s bouncy, flexible and shiny, plus there’s no residue left on my hands. To save money, if you enjoy your hair looking like this, buy a bottle of $3 blue magic from Walmart and it’ll do exactly the same.

Ebonie Page: I love this! I’m considering trying this for my presses instead of DE

Tracy C.: It looks weighed down, too many products. Hard pass for me.

Oh Keh: Can I use it on damp hair and letting it air dry?? Or should I wait for my hair to dry, then apply before straightening? Do I need a heat protector spray too while using this?

Alexis payne: Love it more videos like this please

NICOLE LEWIS: The model's hair is a fine texture. Too many products were used. Her hair looks oily and looks clumped together.

Takiela Langley: It's a no for me. The hair looks heavy and I'm not here for it. The idea of a silk press is movement.

Jennifer: Perfect ….thank you

victoria stewart: can u do a step by step for begginers like every step

KevinMphotography: Nicely done. I haven’t tried the black spray product yet. May try it out

Ocean Breeze: Sometimes I feel like hair dressers themselves don’t understand what the term “silk” means in a press. Silk moves fluidly, flawlessly, seamlessly. The hair is stiff, overly saturated and you can even see the flat iron lines when she goes half way up the hair shaft near the end. Heat was way to high for this hair type. That level of heat and that amount of product is for much tighter/kinkier.

Patricia Henry: great tutorial!

Life as Kerria ♍: Hands down the best silk press I've seen

Courtney Bee: She has heat damage towards her ends , it looks weighed down, has no movement

L Wind: What products do you suggest to use silk press for silver/gray natural hair. I don’t like the yellow tint the heat leaves in my beautiful gray hair

Kink Kurly Krazy Kayla: I'm excited to try this on my natural hair. Does Chi have any heavy hold pomade or Edge control?

Carlos Roman: Why would the hair need to be “married” mid shaft? You literally created a dent in the hair. And then it seemed like there was even more product build up. At the end the hair like just looked tired and really flat.

Aryanna Strickland: too many passes through the hair no wonder she has heat damage YIKES

ForevaLaTrelle: It really doesn’t look bad or super greasy. Idk what the comments are talking about. But what I will say is the texture of the hair matters. If this was a 4c head, this would surely be much stiffer from all of that extra product

Shanika Bradshaw: Those ends needed trimming a little but the end result was pretty

blkbeauti05: I'm sure it is easy for this hair to be straight. You can tell by the texture of her hair.

ASH&JU WHAT IT DO: It’s giving stiff and oily

Lisa B: ❤❤❤ thanks great

Oh Keh: What heat protectant spray do you use?? Can I use the chi on my dry hair then a heat protectant spray then straighten?

Dorothy Lisbon: A word of advice: check out fortified shampoo for fast hair growth.

Chloe Rayne: Way too greasy and bad straightener lines.

Je’love Music: Did a terrible job displaying Chi Products.. great line but this stylist know NOTHING about a silk press.. clarifying shampoo, conditioner, light heat protector, and serum is all you need.. not two different holding sprays not extra serum not even sheen spray because it’s too oily the hair should be naturally shiny and moveable.. less is more with a silk press and heating that holding spray onto the hair was an absolute NEGATIVE!!

janice etienne: That was a lot of product layering. Model is gorgeous but I’ll pass as well.

Nicky Daley: Beautiful model but that is a greasy weighed-down mess. The Chi silk infusion should be used minimally because it is heavy.

mymiracle79: Beautiful model and hair.

Eugenea Scott: Parker I forgot to ask what degree do the flat iron get how hot???

Cathy: She has a straightest grade of hair you don't have to do anything to it really just flat iron it

Desiree_Bakersjoy: Too much product. That's a no go for me. Hair is weighed down

sexyaries9: Absolutely not. Way to much product .

Pickle: your video

Santras Smith: Oh my I hope her hair gets over all that heat and etc. Lady where did you get you cosmetology liicense? Her hair is "FRIED" & waiting to break/fall out like right now.......OMG !

ChanelsRant: The blow dryer

Robinthicke Boyd: Cute. Thanks for the video.

Betty Millz: Too much products used on the hair.... A Silk press isn't supposed to look that oily and stiff with no mouvement.

Alexis Hollie: Too much product, too much heat.

Cee Ivy: I keep eyeing the Keratin line is it like a keratin Treatment?? Will it damage or loosen my curls ??

Cindy: There’s nothing silky about this.

Michelle Miller: Spraying it and using the silk, will it leave a burnt smell? Won't spraying every section burn your hair out? Arosol spray causes cancer!!!! N

JayJ Williams: Why is she holding the straightener like that?

Gods Beautiful Daughter: A greasy mess, all them straightening lines chile

prettynpink2035: This is not a silk press. Hair looks three weeks old. Too heavy from all the products.

Leanghiek Cheung: How long hair still straight

Maria Canada: Woyld be nice ti see excatly all steps...

chocolategirl〈3R: Her hair looked dry before u used the blow dryer

Melinda Milian: Why all of those products?!

_kay: She dont know wtf she doing .. they need to delete this video its 2022 not 1994 . Its way to much product and the hair dont have no bounce at all

Kay I: Not "on today"

Miss Love: That silk press is way to silky....... I'll pass! She used way to much product, This much be a colab

Mary Galarza: Where do I go to see you to do my hair

Cathy: This is crazy this is not the basic black girls hair come on now give us some nappy hair and straighten it

chocolategirl〈3R: Her hair looks so stiff

Kenisha Maxie: This looks really weighed down

Carlo Carnaje: Slay

Debra Grant: Too much heat

Retro Nostalgic: Oh no. That's way too much product. Oh no sis, this one is all yours.

T: Stiff where??? EVERYWHERE.! ‍♀️‍♀️ NO, NO, NO.

Shreena Williams: Too many products for me

Hijau Kertas: Chi are no longer sponsoring MU. No wonder this year girls hair are beautiful unlike past years. Horrible.

A D: her hair looks mad greasy

Albert Rainbow: Her hair is damaged damaged issa no

MRSOFFICER2012: Oh noooooooooo
