Hey guys, so today's video is going to be how I earn my hair. I never thought I would ever do this video, because I always thought that straightening, your hair was something that was so easy, but the more requests I got to film this video, the more realize like wow. Maybe I should film that video my mom is a hairstylist like she's a hairdresser. She has her license for it. She'S done like her since I was a little girl, so she told me a lot about hair growing up how to style it, how to iron it - and I realized that not everybody has a hair. Stylist does another. So I'm going to show you exactly how I earn it. It'S gon na be kind of like a voiceover. It was when I was ironing my hair the other day, and since I was already making this video, I thought I would share with you my favorite hair products. When I straightened my hair, I just recently uploaded my natural curly, hair, routine and all the products. I love using when I leave my hair natural, but these specifically are products I love using whenever I Flatiron my hair, so first off, I want to introduce blue to you. This is my baby. This is my holy grail flat iron. This is the original light Chee. I used to have a black one. This is the only flat iron I will use and I know a lot of people fight me on it. A lot of people don't like this, but it's the only one that straightens my hair and it doesn't leave it frizzy. I can tell a huge difference when I my hair, with a different flat iron, since my mom's does have like her license for hair. I got this at salon centric and it was like more affordable there. I'Ve had this flat iron for 6 or 7 years. I mean, can you tell can't you tell this thing looks Toa from the flow up and alright look at that. I remember the day purchased this I feels like forever ago, and it's still going strong. It still works just as great as it did the day. I bought it the one I had before this one was black and I had that one for a million years as well word on the street is that they've changed this since I haven't bought a cheat iron in seven years. I hear that it's not as good anymore. What why? I hope, that's a lie. I hope that was just a rumor. I heard because I love me some cheek, so I just want to show you the gunky flat iron that I use it's my favorite and even though I have to like run this through my hair a couple of times cuz, my hair can be a little frizzy. It just does the best job in my personal opinion, so I know I spoke about eight French shampoo in my natural hair video, but when I know I'm gon na iron, my hair, this is the shampoo I will always use. I love this. This is the bumble and bumble bee bee hairdressers, invisible oil, sulfate, free shampoo. I bought this because I heard Casey Holmes raving about it and I was like I need to get that if she loves it, I think I'm gon na love it, and I do it's like a huge favorite of mine. I love this because it cleans my hair. So well sometimes, if I use a different shampoo when I'm flat ironing my hair, I can see that it already looks greasy and I don't know if you guys have this experience or not, but I can get away with greasy hair when my hair is curly. But when it's straight, you can see like you can see the grease and I feel like this - shampoo works miracles with that because it cleans my hair to the point where it doesn't look greasy. But it doesn't strip my hair either. It'S very hydrating, but in a super squeaky, clean kind of way, but not like squeaky clean, like like hydrating clean. It says it has six feather light oils to help soften soakin, tame D, frizz detangle and protect seriously an amazing amazing shampoo, and I highly recommend it. So after I shampoo my hair, I go in with my hair masque. This is the same hair masque I already spoke about in my other video. I will link it below. I don't want to stress too much about it because I already spoke about it, but this is the living proof restore masque treatment. I love this hair masque. No matter what I'm gon na do to my hair, it hydrates my hair so well. It really makes my hair feel nice and silky like if it actually is doing something so love love this mask and then, when I get out of the shower, even if I'm going to style my hair, naturally or iron it I always use the Brio. Gio rose. Arco, milk: this is just a leave-in conditioner, but it's very milky and very light. So I like applying this everywhere. It doesn't make my hair grey, see it doesn't weigh down my hair or leave a film. It soaks right into the hair, but it leaves your hair really nice and soft. So I really really love this and then what I'll do is I'll just let my hair air dry since I'm already flat ironing it. I don't want to add extra heat so I'll. Just do other things, while I wait for my hair to dry and then, when it's completely dry, I will go in with a heat protectant. This one is definitely my favorite. This is a new bottle. This is the caviar Repair multivitamin heat protection spray by the brand alterna I bought. This at Sephora has vitamin A b6 b12 vitamin C vitamin E and biotin, and it's basically that it's a heat protecting spray. Nothing too special, but I like this one specifically because it doesn't leave my hair hard. Sometimes I would notice that if I used a different heat protector - and I would like start flat ironing my hair, it would kind of skip and get stuck on. My hair, like it would do one of these, and I would have to like pull that my hair to get the iron to keep going, and I never understood what that was. I thought that was just my hair texture, but once I started using this heat protectant spray that stops happening, so I really really love this one. I mean your hair is still getting damaged, it's getting flat iron, but it helps and then the last product I want to talk about before. I show you guys how I actually flat iron. My hair is this product right here, and this is actually new to me. I just recently got this a few weeks ago. This is the bumble and bumble bee bee hairdressers, invisible oil, dry oil, finishing spray, lightweight mist for a subtle, shine and softness, and it's for dry hair. This really caught my attention since I'm such a big fan of the shampoo, I thought I'm gon na give that a try. I have dry hair. I might like that, and I really really really like this when I Flatiron my hair. Sometimes I notice that it loses a little bit of its shine versus when it's curly, so this really has been helping. Let'S see if you can tell the difference now, you bought it Kendall. I love using this spritz. All this smells amazing. It smells so good and it leaves your hair feeling and looking so silky without it looking greasy or feeling greasy or weighing it down. I really really like this. I think even those of you with oily hair would like this because it's a way to add the shine to the tips of your hair without it being an actual oil, so I have really really been liking this, which is why I wanted to include it in This video, because I see myself using it all up so without further ado, I'm going to get into the actual flat-ironing of this video, let's get into it. Okay, so I always start out with a heat protectant. As I said earlier, excu Barents, it's like 1:00 in the morning when I'm filming this and I'm sitting at my vanity talking to Amelia while iron, my hair she's, like sitting in front of me on the couch okay. So when it comes to flat ironing my hair, I really like to work in sections. I mean you guys see what I'm doing so, it's kind of stupid and pointless to explain because I'm sure you can see what's going on, but I part my hair into like fatter sections and then I take tiny sections within those sections and then I iron them Little by little, I do have to pass the iron like three or four times, sometimes even five times, one of ironing, my hair, because my hair can stay a little bit frizzy. If I don't, you know, pass the iron a couple of times. I don't leave it on my hair for too long either like I'm, not they're, slowly bringing it down. I do it pretty quickly, so that I don't put too much heat on it for too long. I also try to get as close to my scalp as possible. You don't want to burn your head or anything so just be careful with that. Working in smaller sections does help you get really really close, so I guess because I'm left-handed, I always start ironing on my right side, but once I can't reach that way, I just take my hair and put it on the left side of my body, and I Start ironing like that, like how you see me doing now, because I personally can't do anything with my right hand. I can't even iron my hair, like I can't switch the iron back and forth in my hands because that would never work. I can't do anything at all with my right hand, it's pretty useless, but anyway, so I'm just gon na. Let you watch the rest of this video and watch me doing my hair, because it's pretty it's pretty self-explanatory, know what I'm saying alright. Here we go. Okay, so that is how I fought iron, my hair, I'm sorry! I look crazy in that in those clips, but yeah that completes this video. Thank you guys so much for watching. Please subscribe! If you haven't already - and I will see you in my next video bye. Ah, it just does the it just it's just a man. I love my thighs. Oh, I always use my favorite this huh. It says it has six feather light. Huh

Klaudia M: You look so flawless with both straight and curly hair how is that possible?! x

Nathalie Bermond: Helpful Flat Ironing Tip: Use a fine-toothed comb to guide your iron through. Separate your hair in pieces (like Kathleen did in this video) but comb through with your free hand and follow it with the iron. This helps separate all the hair strands to get a better straightening. Hope that makes sense. I've been ironing my hair for over 15 years now with a CHI as well and this is how I do it.

Olivia Zhang: Hi Kathleen! I just want to let you know that I bought 4 of what you recommended for us right after watching this video. They are AMAZING. I absolutely love them! Thank you so much for doing this for us.

Erica Dh: Thank you so much for this!!! I have curly hair like you and when i straighten it, it tends to look greasy. Definitely going to try these products! Love you Kat! :D

Michelle Feeney: Thank you so much for sharing your recommendations and it’s always great to hear about how other people do their hair especially from someone who has a mom who is a hairdresser that’s so amazing

fashion chalet: When I asked my hairstylist at the salon what the best flat iron to buy was she said CHI. But when I told her I had a ghd iron that was sent to me, she said "girl, don't buy a CHI then. Ghd is top of the line." I tried it it. And it IS. When your blue finally conks out- get a ghd (from England) :) Xx

Kristin Streams: Omg we basically have the exact same hair. I hardly ever straighten my hair because I've never really known how to do it properly. This video helped me so much! Thanks girl! Love you

Samantha Jones: I have that straightener in red! I've had it for 4 or 5 years and it still works like the day I bought it. In my opinion they work the best! Love you girl ❤️❤️

lindseykealohilani: LOL. This is EXACTLY how I iron my hair! Get close to the scalp and do small sections! I feel the curly/wavy hair struggle girl!

Ruby Roman: You're make up looks amazing!! Please do a tutorial on this look!

Namita: Thankyou for making my day so much better by uploading! I love you so much Kathleen! you're my fav youtuber, you go girl! xo

farea27: You look sooooo gorgeous in this video! I can't stop staring! And your makeup looks bomb! ❤️ thank you for all the amazing hair tips!

Trista Vargas: Hi Kathleen❤️I have extremely curly hair and the flat iron I use the Nume flat iron it's amazing. You only need to do one pass over your hair and it completely straightens it! So when your flat iron gives out, you should try this one! Love you❤️❤️❤️

Dina Elzanaty: *sigh* if only we could straighten our hair that fast. Love you Kathleen

Danny Contreras: whenever I'm sad and need somebody I always find myself coming to your videos. you help me through so much I love you Kathleen keep being you and posting great videos❤️

BetsyBoat: I love this makeup look! It's so pretty and peachy

Tati Liz: Hey Kathleen great video I was wondering how long it takes you to straighten your hair?

Erin Hoyt: Found you this spring when I searched for a colourpop tutorial and have watched as many as I can! Got the YouTube app just to follow you (and have added a couple more but you're my fav). You have revamped and updated my make-up routine! Thanks for teaching this old dog new tricks - lol!

Sabrina Leung: Love your makeup in this video! It's so natural and the pinks really compliment your skin! <3

Hailey Echevarria: When you have short, already straight hair but you watch it anyways bc it's kathleen

Dayna Cline: I have this exact straightener!! It's such an OG for me haha. I've had it since high school and it's never failed me ❤️

Vir Martinez: Hi Kathleen I love your videos sooo much <3 I was wondering how long does it take you to flatten your hair?Ilysm

in-the-anomaly: A surprisingly useful video! I use many of the same brands and products as you, but I learned quite a lot as well. Nice to see someone show the entire process as well and not just skip through it. I've never flat ironed my hair before so it helped!

Anna Jensen: Immense props to you for continuing to straighten your hair with how long that takes and how much effort it looks like! Lol, mine just has a slight wave to it so it only takes me a couple minutes and even that annoys me.. Love you<3

Julia Hildebrand: Can you do an updated makeup collection/room tour? Also you should do the full face of makeup using products I hate challenge! Love yah! <3

Angela Litterio: Since I process my hair so much, I too have dry dry hair. I need to try those BB products! The Dry Oil Spray looks fab on you, K! xo

Londonevann: KATHLEENNNNN omg I love u so much! U have helped me with so much with anxiety and makeup! Friday (September 16) is my 14th bday and that means I have been watching u for 3 years!! Love u girl, keep shining❤️❤️❤️

Yesenia: I always use a fine-toothed comb as I'm straightening my hair. It leaves my hair even more straight and smooth as opposed to when I don't use it.

Farhana Syed: I love u Kathleen ur so nice to show us what u do to ur hair! And omg ur mom is a hair stylist, this video was meant to be

Brittany Hudson: I know this has nothing to do with this video, but I really love your eyebrows! They're always so perfect!

Phuong Thanh: can you do a tutorial on this look? it's so pretty <3 <3

Rossel's life321: Love your hair either natural or straighten! It looks great on you!

BrittanyP3: Without having to run the iron through each section multiple times, try to follow your flat iron with a typical comb right behind the iron as you go down the hair shaft but move down your hair a little slower than you usually would, hope this helps :)

Joslyn Villegas: I have the chi G2 iron and it works so good!! My hair is normally super frizzy but this straightener makes my hair so soft and not frizzy at all!! I love it

Adasa Montano: wow youre so lucky you can flat iron your hair so fast! it takes me almost 2 hours to flat iron mine. thats why i did the keratin treatment, so it can take me less time lol

Diana Dumitrescu: Kathleen I love your makeup in this video! can you please do a tutorial? love you *hugs*

Lysa Grajales: You should make a tutorial on this look! I love the eyes!! Especially how you did the lower part of the eye!

samanthaleaa: I love the Hairdressers oil on its own when I'm leaving my hair naturally curly. It makes it shiny and takes away the frizz without leaving my hair greasy or heavy at all. I am really wanting to try the rest of the line now!

KT Hays: Thanks for doing this video!! So useful, since my hair is wavy and thick and I always flat iron my hair too

Kayla Balleste: I used to use a Chi and LOVED it, but it broke, so I bought a new one and the quality was nowhere near as good sadly. I switched over to a GHD flat iron and hair dryer, and although they're very expensive they work great!! I have the same hair as you, curly and sometimes frizzy/lacking shine so I highly recommend :) I use the same heat protectant from alterna as well and I love it! You should try out the Kiehl's heat protectant straightening cream, I think it might be my new fave haha

Taely Lee: I already have naturally straight hair, but I just had to watch it for Kathleen! Lol. Love you! ❤

Rebeka Guerrero: I used to love the chi. It was the only one that would straighten my hair really good but then I purchased the Paul Mitchell and hands down that is the best flat iron. I noticed how your ends weren't completely straight and that's how my hair was when I used the chi but with the Paul Mitchell it doesn't have that problem. You should look into it, maybe you will like it (: .. Also big fan of you!

Dallas Shrawder: Kathleen I know I already requested it once, but I would love to see a tutorial and talk-through about how you do your nails! Not many youtubers do their own nails, most just get them done at a salon. I sometimes prefer doing them at home but I can NEVER get them to last and not chip or to look super shiny. Yours always look awesome though so hopefully you could share some tips and tricks! ❤️

Justina Sam: I love the straight hair look on you and I LOVE your eye makeup!

Beth Hamilton: PLEASE DO A MAKEUP TUTORIAL ON THAT LOOK

Kelly Rangel: I love how therapeutic it is to watch someone do hair lol Thats exactly how i do my own, with the bottom to the top and the little part where you straighten to the front at the crown lol

lovelypriscila: My mom has the Chi Air and I seriously love it! My hair is thick and really poofy and when I straighten my hair with it, it leaves my hair shiny (not oily) and so flat and beautiful (not trying to toot my own horn) I love it so much!!!!

Gabrielle Lopez: Finally! A YouTuber who has the same hair type and struggles I go through..going to try all these products now! ❤️

Kara Nicole: Ugh I love how Emilia is just hanging out with Kathleen in this scenario. I just think their friendship is cute

Trinh Tran: I need a makeup tutorial on this look!!!

Carina Espinoza: I love this makeup look !!! Please do a tutorial

Gabriella Sanchez: I had my first chi for like 6 years too when the cord broke! Lol. Great investment and more on the affordable side of hair tools! Then I bought a Nume bc of the hype! Also really really great and affordable! :)

Cassandra Garza: Living proof also makes a straightening spray that works to straighten hair faster, is a heat protectant, and fights frizz. Just don't use too much on the scalp because it can look oily but overall the best straightening product I've used because it combats frizz

Carli Dellanno: this look is so pretty! you should do a tutorial :)

pout: anyone else's hair oily on the scalp and super dry on the ends???

shayla from brindle.: I love CHI flat irons! I had one for many years, but then it fell on the floor and broke. I got a new one about two years ago and it's just as good. Anyways, thanks for all the tips! I definitely need to try that shampoo because my hair is oily as hell.

Michaela Thompson: I've had my CHI for about 6 years now too and I wouldn't trade it for any other professional grade flat iron! Mine smooths my curly, frizzy hair and keeps it straight for days!

Sena C.: Could you pleaaaase film a makeup tutorial on this look? It looks sooo pretty! <3

Deedee Megadoodoo: I don't know why but it makes me so so so happy when I hear that someone I love like Kathleen is left-handed like me!!!

Laura M: Could you film an updated Haircareroutine - How did you grow your hair so long and healthy? Love your Videos! xx

Melissa Celone: Can you please film a tutorial on this makeup look!? It's gorgeous!!

Natalie Cline: I'm so jealous of her beautiful hair. I have super straight baby-fine hair (that doesn't do anything) and I still watched her natural hair routine and how she straightens it.

Genevieve Jordan: I get the same thing with heat protectant sprays! It makes my hair stick in the flatiron so badly , to the point where I've stopped using them even though I KNOW I shouldn't. Going to try yours - fingers crossed!

Rachel Reilly: I've been a hardcore CHI fan since high school went through 2 in like a 5 year period but I have transitioned to Hot Tools in the past few months. Amazing hairstyling products! I have very very thick hair that gets just a bit wavy. Price point is a little less than CHI if anyone is interested!

Jade Ball: How long does it take you to flat iron your hair?

Mandy Hansbury: My CHI was like 5 years before it finally quit on me. I got a new one and it lasted about a week before the cord shorted out. Sally beauty has their own version of a CHI that I absolutely love, and it's around $50

Patricia Gudino: My sister got a chi flat iron 2 years ago and she let me use it and I loved it! I personally love using a comb while I straighten my hair. It makes it super straight a regular hairbrush leaves mine frizzy

ella ari: I love this video and the one with your natural hair routine as well! I have curly heat damaged hair and I just don't know what to do with it to wear it curly and not look crazy messy XD I cannot wait to try the products you recommended both for curls and straight hair so thank you! I am curious though... how long does it take you to straighten your hair?

Karlee Ulrich: I have SUPER frizzy, wavy/curly hair and I use the straightener from the brand sutra and it's awesome my hair is so soft and friz free! I also use beyond the heat, heat protectant (idk it's an orange bottle) but it leaves my hair soft and shiny after and not oily! And it definitely protects my hair!

Mia Maya: Please, please: How do your CURL your hair? So not you natural curls but how you actually do them when you curl them. Thanks if you do decide to do this video. Keep up the great work! Lots of appreciation and love ❤

Mialeigh Lyon: Girl trust me I know what you mean about crusty flat ironing sprays!!!!! So many of them do it and I HATE IT!!!! I LOVE the AG firewall it is so amazing and smells good and always leaves my super natural curly hair smooth when straightening and takes out frizz . Love you Kathleen !!

Jocelyn S: Anyone else love how she always says "hey guys" the exact same way at the beginning of every video!

ADRIANA MIREYA GOMEZ GUTIERREZ: Kathleeeennn por favor haz un tutorial para este look!!!

kelseyoliva: I use the Tresseme heat protectant spray and it works soo good! And my hair is naturally SUPER curly.

Taylor Llerena: Kathleen's playing with us "nails: I can't tell you yet"

Lisa Edwards: I used to have a CHI and I loved it until it died on me. Believe me, I loved that straightener so much. After reading the reviews about how it is no longer the same, I switched it up and got the T3 Single Pass X (1.5in) and holy amaze balls batman, I will never switch to another flat iron. EVER! It is specifically designed for long coarse curly thick hair. I used to have to use a serum with my CHI to get my hair smooth and shiny. I don't use anything with this. It constantly adjusts the plates temperature so it won't burn your hair. If your CHI finally goes out, I suggest the T3. The only shampoo and conditioner I use is the Redken Frizz dismiss line. I don't have to add anything else to my hair. The only downside to the Single Pass X is the price: $230. Yes, it's expensive, but I planned ahead for it. I saved up my Ulta points till I had $30 and I used a 20% off coupon so I paid 150 for it (it was my anniversary gift), but it is soo worth it. I let my hair air dry too before I straighten it.

kinney 83: If you love the B&B Hairdresser's Oil line you should try their primer spray. I use it on soaking wet hair when I get out of the shower and it detangles and makes my hair so soft. Then if I decided to iron my hair or not, it protects it from the heat. It also helps keeps my hair strong and healthy. I love it!

Angela Burger: I totally agree about the chi iron! I bought mine (like 4 years) ago and it's the only one that gives me a smooth finish and not frizzy! I remember like high school freshman year in college I was so bummed because my hair wasn't looking like i wanted it!

Mia: Wow Kathleen I like your makeup look in this video so much! Hope you will have a tutorial of this look❤️❤️

LynnetteNadine: I love your makeup! Please make a tutorial .

Helena DM ❤🐝: I also love the Alterna heat protection. It's such a fine mist and so clean.

Sophie: I have two CHI irons but I got the bio ionic one pass iron and I LOVE IT SO MUCH MORE. It has grippys on it that hold your hair down so it's nice frizzy!

Anon __: Girl, you are too beautiful. This makeup look is gorgeous!!! And your hair is so so so pretty, natural or straight, Goals <3

Kate Pelletier: I've literally had my Chi for 10 years now and it still works too!

Victoria Lyn: Your hair gives me life - seriously hair goals <3

heidiellen.97: You are so stunning! Love this makeup look!

Mikala Ann: I have a CHI iron (bought it last year) and I have the same hair type as you and it works great on me!

Kathleen Jones: I know it's probably so simple but I want a makeup tutorial on this look

Aurora: we have such a similar hair type and I can never get mine so straight! thankyou so much for this video!!

Kaytie Myers: Literally the prettiest and only person that can rock a middle part

alex: I will never get over how incredible your skin is. Ugh so jealous.

Brittany Gancarz: I had such a different experience with that bumble and bumble shampoo!  I didn't like it and thought it made my hair feel greasy and heavy!  You have such beautiful hair!

marthaoxo: i never straighten my hair and i have a completely different hair type but i'm watching this because watching your videos is so relaxing :D

Denah: Kathleen! I used to be a die hard Chi fan too, trust me. But I decided to venture out because YES, it's true the new chi's aren't as good. So I bought a Paul Mitchell straightener and oh my lord it's the best. The steel plates they use make my hair silkier than the chi ever had. AlSO, (I used to work at a hair salon as a receptionist) and we sold two product lines: Bumble & bumble, and Phyto. I was told to not recommend BB because it contains a ridiculous amount of wax that when you use heat on your hair, the wax binds with your follicle ultimately causing damage. The Phyto line on the other hand was our natural line (cost the same) and uses nothing but plants. I've never used anything since. It's amazing!

Ambers Vice: I literally opened YouTube like 'maybe Kathleen's uploaded" and clicked on this so quickly. #earlysquadwaddup also how the eff do you get your hair to grow that long? do you get regular cuts or like HOW.

Tonya Jones: Instead of using a towel to rest your flat iron on, try a silicone baking mat! It has been great for me and there's no worry about something accidentally catching fire! Loved this video. I want to try that Bumble and Bumble spray!

Jade Thoe: This make-up look looks sooo good on you wow

Erika Brooks: Your hair is so beautiful! Long hair is such a blessing and a curse. My hair has been shedding like crazy

Vianey Chavez: I need this makeup look in my life

Yaham Yellow: "Quien me esta mandando mensajes ahora" jaja me encanta cuando hablas español, deberías hacerte un canal en español.
