Hey guys, you guys are asking for updated favorite products for you. There are a couple significant changes, but I'm still pretty much using the same process. I was using before with maybe a tweak here or an addition there. So I'm just going to really quickly get into what I'm using, and you know that when I make a favorite products video, what follows that is how I wash my hair video updated. So a lot has changed and how I wash my hair. It'S just longer. Now a lot going on is dry, so I'm going to upload that next, but for now, of course I have to introduce you to what you'll be seeing in that video. Alright. So let's get right into it! First, I've got a still a staple. My regimen is my apple cider, vinegar, it's great for adding shine to your hair, but my main reason for using this is clarifying. I wash my hair with a product to get rid of buildup. Once a month I mean I'm, I'm co-washing between, but once a month to get rid of build-up, and I need some help. So this is a really great for clarifying. I mix it. One part apple, cider, vinegar into three parts - water and I just basically put it in the hair and just go to town and get rid of all that shea butter and stuff that was in my hair, previously so apple, cider, vinegar, I'm still loving for deep conditioning To this day I am still using my DIY Mayo, deep conditioner and Greek yogurt deep conditioners. I have both of those recipes on my channel I'll put a link, so you guys to find those recipes of Beyonce on before, but they're really great. I still use both women people are like well. Why are you using both which one do you like, but I use the Greek yogurt deep conditioner if my hair is like extremely weak, if I feel like for some reason, my hair has been snapping very easily lately. If it just looks, you know like it's weak, it needs some strength because the tons and tons and tons of protein - it's also a really great deep tangler. So that's what I'll go for the Greek yogurt and now I use a male. If I need some moisture to my hair, if it's extremely dry parched saying you know it's not weak, but it's really dry. I want it to be nice and soft. Then I'll go for the Mayo, deep conditioner. It also does a little bit of detangling and there's also a little bit of protein because of the egg in there. So just depends on one. You know how my hair is feeling and what it needs like. What would I need to fix on my hair at that point? It also kinds on my laziness levels like if I'm tired. What do I want to make? Do I really want to mix up an egg? Don'T just grab some Greek yogurt or what I want to do and then it also depends on you. What'S in my fridge, if I had both items in my fridge, then I can make that decision. If I just have mail - or I just have Greek - then I'm doing one or the other, so that's pretty much how I decide which one I'm going to use but they're still both in my rotation and I love them so much. I will use those DIY for my deep conditioners and, like I said I wash once per month, and I did condition on the off weeks that I will be using one of these or I have also added to my regimen, and this is new - the Trader Joe's Tea tree tingle conditioner, you can get this at Trader Joe's, obviously, and I love Trader Joe's products for hair. I was using a nourish bob previous to using the mud wash on my hair and then friend I had parabens a frico whatever this has no parabens. It'S pretty, you know it's natural, there's some stuff here that I'm questioning, but you know what these days I'm a little bit more leaning on myself and it's all good. I really enjoy this conditioner. It gives really great split, really great detangler, and sometimes, if I'm really lazy, I don't have the mail, I don't the Greek. Maybe I have both. I just don't feel like mixing it I'll run to this. This is so fast literally throw this in my hair part rinse out and go on with my business. So I love this conditioner. It'S a pretty big staple in my hair care routine now and, as you can see, I use a lot of it now. These are all pretty much empty, which is totally fine, because it's super cheap I try to do is, I believe, they're like three four dollars each. So you just stock up, and you know no money is lost and D away. It really is an awesome product for an awesome price, Hey biggest change ever ah yeah. I didn't know how I feel like I'm breaking up with somebody right now, but ok, this is biggest change. I used to love my organic hair. Wash you guys know that. I still do, but I've made it myself. Oh my god! Yes, I did. I made it myself. No, this is a long time coming. You guys, like I make everything else um I just have been so busy. I haven't had time to sit down and just you know make it and I've been playing around for a really long time and I kind of got a basic. You know a basic recipe that really works well really smells great, and I love it. I'Ll show you that recipe tutorial, obviously a lot later, but that is probably the biggest change in my hair care is that I'm now waking making my own organic my hair, wash, though save a little cash money. Oh yeah, I will put a link for that video. I guess right here: it's not going to be clickable until I actually put it on my uploads um, but I'm gon na put that like here, just anticipation for it, you guys all know, I'm still using my hair and body oil, which I love stuff is amazing Rate for so many reasons, lubrication moisturization nutrients, detail, um sealing, I mean so many things. The stuff is great for I use it on my hair and my body, this bottle is almost empty, I'm still in love with my aloe vera juice. I put this on my hair, just that 100 % I don't dilute it or anything like that. This is stored in my fridge. Get the question a lot on everything that I use is stored in my cabinet, with the exception of my aloe vera juice and my flaxseed gel, but um yeah. This is stored in my fridge and I don't take it out until I'm absolutely ready to use excited to stay nice and cold well, first of all, it's cold and it shocks the system, it shocks my hair and closes my cuticles, which is awesome, aloe vera juice. Naturally helps close your cuticles, which brings more shine to your hair and then also just tailing properties, are really great for your hair. You know, I don't pay too much attention to. You know, figuring out, pH balance and all that which you know it's still. It'S a great thing, I just don't do it, but I do know that this is great at neutralizing pH. So that's cool. I mean that's an added bonus right, so aloe vera juice is awesome for your hair and don't dilute it and it's stored in the fridge. Of course, you guys know shea butter, yes empty. Those finger marks in the back this so embarrassing see that scrape in the drawer people. This guy was totally full, but it's totally empty. I have a recipe for the shea butter for both types of schaberg have a sticky shea butter and a silky shape and recipe in this case kind of the best of both worlds. I kind of made it and in between, so I really don't use only the sticky and I don't use only the silky shea butter anymore. I kind of just make a kind of a Frankenstein of both, so it's nice and smooth and yeah really good. I love this stuff. I had to put my hair up way too hot last but not least, the flaxseed gel. I don't really use that a lot anymore and the main reason is because I don't wear wash and gos as often as I used to and that's pretty much it it's just so much easier to manage and a stretched-out stay. And so you know sometimes like see Jill for some certain Styles. Maybe if I want to set it but um, it's really not as big of a staple in my haircare as it used to be. If you're a wash, you go to a person, it's great, but I'm just I've been using it less and less and less and less so flax seed. Gel on occasion, I can't say that I use it all the time. Where'S my biggest favorite product is water. It'S not really a product, but neither is shea butter. I didn't buy it anywhere, but I use it on my hair daily and it's very important to my hair care, routine, all right moisturizers, most importantly, but it also helps if I am going between styles and I need to detangle, it's really great and loosening up those Tangles, even just with a little spritz and adding a little bit of shea butter on there, so those are basically all of my favorite products staples in my haircare, like I said, a couple of things have been tweaked and some things have been totally overhauled changed as Your hair grows and changes, you know, so do you, you have to change with your hair and what may have worked for it before? Maybe it doesn't work now and you got to fix it and figure out a way to you know, give it what it needs, and I hope this video helps you guys - and I hope I've answered all of your questions regarding my favorite products and yeah stay tuned For my updated watch, video and also the recipe for my new favorite hair, wash, I love doing recipe videos guys it's been a while. So I'm really excited about this today. I will see you guys in my next video, ah click here for the latest from my second channel. You

FDRstar: My little girl that is not so little anymore (9th grader) is learning to love her hair and she enjoy telling others(Here in the South) if ask why her hair looks the way that it look because Its natural she will quietly say. Her hair is growing (About 12inches now) but we spent the Summer in the pool and all kind of issues came about. Saying all of that I would like to say thank you for your advice and honesty. You have restored my little girls faith in who she is and this is something my money couldn't buy and I say again thank you for helping me show my little girl her natural beauty.I am sure that one day my daughter will pass along what she has learned here to another.

Aaliyah J.: I've been watching your videos now for years now and I just wanted to say thank you for being the inspiration that I needed to be proactive in my life. After overcoming the initial hesitation and going natural, I felt more empowered to be the person I've always wanted to be. I'm sure you already know this, but I needed to make sure that you know exactly how helpful you are.

black.and.nerdy: Yay more recipe videos! Love the shea butter recipe. Finally decided to make it on a whim one day and it was super easy and has been ah-may-zing for my hair :)

ACIN05: Thanks for the update. Absolutely love the shea butter mix. Easy to make and convenient. I was using all these products before, but never thought about mixing them together with shea butter. I even get my five year old son to help:) It's a good way to teach about measurements-added bonus.

alejasb1: I just wanna say that I watched one of your videos from 2010 and then one from 2013 and I'm so shocked at how long your hair grew over three years! I've been natural for about 4 1/2 years and my hair is finally doing it's thing. Your hair growth inspires me and also you videos are so fun and friendly. I just want to say thank you, and that I will definitely keep watching! Also how often do you cut your hair? (For the first time in my life it's been almost a year since I've cut mine haha.)

I’m Chianta: Your videos alone has helped me on my transitioning journey. I have made a few of your items but tweaked them to make them my own. My hair is bra strap length now and my goal is waist. Thank you so much for sharing your tips. They have helped me so much!

booempressnc: Ohhh my God, I made it myself! *Insert smug little kid smile face* lol. I love and look forward to all your vids girl. You inspired me before my big chop and still do with all of these amazing vids that you still manage to find time to make, even being a new Mum. Thank you :)

Makaiisa: Whitney, thanks for all you do - sharing, advising, etc. I have made all of your DIY recipes except for the flax seed gel. I can't wait for the new DIY mud wash. For the hair/body oil, I used your exact recipe but topped it off with a few drops of pure lavender oil for some fragrance. I LOVE it! Thanks!!!

Maya Keita: Thank you very much Whitney for changing our lives for inspiring us to love our natural hair which defines our whole sense of cultural & self identity God bless u & your family

LolasCurls: I am SO proud of you for making your own mud wash! In UK we all tended to make our own because we couldn't get it across. I'm glad you love the Trader Joe's Tea Tree Tingle too (I somehow got given that at a product swap and loved it too!) Thanks for sharing, hon!

Linda Savage: You are such an inspiration, by the way. I'm 1 year and 3 months natural and your hair journey vids motivated me to get off the "creamy crack". There are tons of natural hair gurus on youtube with gorgeous hair and helpful tips, but you are my favorite by far! I just love your personality. You seem so down to earth and humble. You are absolutely beautiful inside and out!

nashwajonae: Also i wanted to say that i love you!!!! and u have inspired me to go full on natural and stop pressing my hair and i am so glad my mom never gave me a perm or relaxer so now i can embrace my real texture and love my natural hair! and Naptural85 you have helped me so much cause i would be so lost with out you!!!

doggettall: Cool. I've been making my own mud for about a year now. Biggest mistake I see ppl make us using water (pH 7) rather than the aloe juice. Lily of the Desert is low pH (around 4.5 ish) & makes the perfect mud. Works best warm w/toning herbs steeped in. Can't wait for the video!! - @Raqueldog or IG - @KinkyCurlfriend

Khadysha Moore: Your hair is absolutely amazing and I'm enjoying following you on your journey! I am using the shea butter, the DIY flaxseed because my length is NO WHERE near yours at this present time, but seeing your hair means it's possible! Keep up the great work

Leeda James: Thank you beautiful lady for taking the time out of your life and busy schedule to help us!! I appreciate you!!

vj nana: Thank you so much for sharing your wealth of information. It is truly an inspiration to those of us who have decided to step away from the creamy crack and embrace the natural beauty we have been blessed with!

Sarrina B: Hi. Just wanted to say your videos and info are great! I am currently transitioning to natural. About 6 months in. My relaxed hair was past my shoulders in length. I've been all over Youtube and Pinterest scouting for tools, tips, and ideas to help me through this process, because I am just not ready for the BC! I just started following you today, and its safe to say I've found a home! THANKS!!

Fatima Siad: Thanks for this. Super Lightbulb moment. Early in the summer I would have basically minimum to no breakage, but rencently(since Sep) I've been having major breakage to my hair all around. What you said just spark something in me. I used to use a aloe vera juice concuction on my hair. I believe this was before I knew the awesomeness of aloe. My hair was soft and silky-even when my regime was filled with cones!!!!! The aloe vera juice I used was literally a drink that I was experimenting with.

20pearlsNcurls: Great to hear that you're making your own mud wash. I make my own too! Looking forward to seeing your recipe :)

Neen Bean: Thank you for all of the great info. I am currently transitioning and have learned so much from you. I absolutely love your hair!!!

Charmain Johnson: Hey Whitney! Thanks so much for your educational and inspirational videos throughout the years. Please continue to post your upcoming events as it would be nice to meet you in person. :) Btw, do you think whole leaf aloe vera juice is better than inner fillet? I bought inner fillet but I've read some articles that say whole leaf is better. Thoughts anyone?

heyyyannieeee: You're very inspiring I love your videos I've already been natural for some time but your maintains and strategies help me keep my hair healthy and growing!

Piscesgirl03: Just used the TJ's tea tree tingle on my box braids. Love that stuff!

gratiamop: Yay I can't wait for that hair wash vid! I've been thinking about making my own mud wash for a while, but I've been to afraid to randomly buy mud and try something since its so expensive!

Ryn: I love your hair, it's getting so long! Very nice eye shadow, too :) Thanks for all the help with natural hair, I was kind of at a loss as to how to maintain it before I stumbled across your vids. Mine doesn't seem to grow very fast, but I guess I shouldn't worry so long as it's not breaking off!

Coco Shea: I'm so excited about the new videos :-D You're hair is waaayy longer than mine but I have been "semi-copying" (I have 4c low-porosity hair) your routine with great results. I'm not much of a braider/twister so I love your low manipulation techniques.

sapmolina: I love that your so simple in everything your doing. Can't wait for the mud wash video. Q: What's another natural clarifying product other than acv?

Rostand Reads: Yeah for the upcoming clay wash! I've been doing this since I watched your video on washing. Pretty sure I got it close if not better than the pricey stuff! :-)

Tri Pri: Shout out to Glamour Magazine for doing a feature section of you on page 152. Title: Natural Hair Pro- "I am blown away by how Whitney of Naptural85 documented the whole four-plus year process of growing out her chemically straightened hair. She has amazing tips for natural curls--her DIY hair-oil recipes are especially brilliant." This was an unexpected great surprise. Congrats!

Jasmin: Trader Joes Tea Tree Tingle Conditioner really does work! It makes your hair soft and gives nice slip like what she said. Whitney is great! I started washing my hair the way she does, and following her tips and my hair has gotten SO much healthier, even though I have 3b hair. I love Naptural85, so inspiring!

beverly darkwah: I adore your tutorials and everything you do! My hair is growing natural however my ends still contain permed ends. What products should I use since I have a mixture of both hair types? Should I also do the big chop? Thank you!

kmnewell3: Looking forward to the mud wash recipe!! Thnx for the updates and I also love love that trader joes conditioner. Keep the blogs coming...one a day hurray!!!

sweetstarbabyy: You prove that it does not have to be expensive to be natural. Thank you so much!

extoflove: Hi, I have been following your channel for a while and I have finally stop wearing wigs and am now wearing my natural hair most of the time due to learning to adapt your suggested hair styles etc. However, I am also playing around with the greenhouse effect technique, please give me your opinion on this technique. I would love to know what you think. Thank you for updating and your daughter is so beautiful, congrats to you and your husband Filipe! I am a subscriber!!!

5amStarr: IDK how she tweaked it but I have it. And I LOVE it. Great on sensitive skin & in hair. I put it everywhere: 1tbsp coconut oil , 1tsp olive oil, 1tsp castor oil, 1 tbsp jojoba oil, 1/2 tsp vitamin E oil. (Most you can get at natural food store, but Castor Oil is pretty cheap @ walmart.) Then you can put in essential oils for what you either want it to smell like or what you want it to do. I also got that at natural food store. Mix it to your heart's content. It's AMAZING!

Hermione Ware: Yeah!!!! Glad to hear you make your own clay wash!!! Of course i tried the Terressentials Left Coast Lemon-Love it! However, lost my job, so I started making my own as well. Can't wait to compare

Esthetically Pleasing: I can't wait to see the new video for the mud wash. I just wanted to add that I'm sorry another poster had difficulties with aloe, but it is not acidic, rather it balances Ph levels and is an anti inflammatory and often used to treat ulcers. Acid cannot be used to treat ulcers. It also contains an enzyme (often mistaken for an acid) that stimulates new hair growth and is used in the treatment of Alopecia. Info came from a professional and was backed by a doctor.

sodacream03: Thanks a bunches. I was just thinking this week about your hair regime. I did your mayo DC and used the silky smooth for my Bantu knot out. It was nice and soft.

Lanisha Stevens: Love your vids!! I'm going to middle school and have the same type of hair. My mom wants me to use your products to get long hair as yours. Keep being you and make more vids!

Lj Swain: I went natural 1 year ago with help from ladies like yourself and then I discovered a book recently released by Crystal Bates, "How to Go Natural Without Going Broke". I am still having problems retaining length and I think because my hair is partly gray so it does not retain moisture very well. Any suggestions? Thx

RockThat SodaPop: How long does homemade aloe Vera juice (straight from the plant) last in the fridge for hair usage? I just made my own juice about a week ago, and have been storing it in the fridge since. LOVE your vids by the way!

AGrlCanMAC: It's very easy to make. I make my own mud wash and cleanses my hair so well and leaves it feeling amazing. It is basically bentonite clay, aloe vera juice, water, apple cider vinegar, a little oil of choice and (optional) honey. It will be interesting to see how she makes hers.

Lametria Mosley: I am diggin that shirt lady!!! I told myself I'm gonna try and make my own products and your DIY videos really do provide guidance!!! Thanks for the upload :) xoxo

LivingHealthyLove: Thanks for making this video! Love all of your tips and DIYs! Quick question for you. Do you use the mud-wash in between washes? If not, are you only using your DIY conditioners or TJ TTT conditioner?

Amar: I have been looking all over the internet trying to find a good DIY hair cleanser and I haven't been satisfied yet. Your stuff always works for me so I will definitely be anticipating your video for it. Thanks again! You are one of my favorite natural hair icons out there! Much love :)

Kiana Owens: OMG thanks so much my natural hair friend, I am so loving the DIY hair cremes that are like manna for my middle daughters hair I've tried so many products on her hair and finally this is the one for her and the rest of us forevermore and I also added aloe Vera water to our routine thanks again I love you and a forever fan of yours keep up the great work and bless you

Iasha Gaines: I love your hair and how you simplify styles. Great for busy gals like my self . Thanks mucho xoxo

lifeguard007: I LOVE your beautiful long nautural hair. And I love all the hair care advice using natural products that most people have in their fridge.

Marcline St-G: Thanks for the video! Great information and products! Question what do you do to maintain the moisture in your hair days after washing or co-washing. I have been transitioning for 10 months now and when I wash my hair its nice and soft but days after it is bone dry but I cannot seem to find a way to keep it moisturized. What do you recommend I do? Thanks in advance!

abcmissme2: Right in time for my natural hair journey!

DAnna: Love that Trader Joe's shampoo and conditioner tried it this week for the first time. They work well on my dry scalp.

Minerva Joy: It's so amazing to re-watch these videos years later. I feel like the Melanin haircare products make sense as it really does feel like you were working on them for years. I am definitely looking forward to a Melanin Haircare Cleanser!! I will keep supporting!

niqui36: Great video! Can't wait for the diy on the mud wash. I bought 1 bottle of the terresentials and have been making my own since I ran out.

Michelle X: I Knew you would eventually make your own hair wash!!!, as you have been my inspiration to make my own hair /body product too. I cant wait for your shampoo vid. Thank you sooooooo much for all your videos, ive been natural for 20 months now and loving it.

Renee Curtis: DIY mud wash OMG I LOVE YOU!!! Can't wait for the recipe :+> Your channel is the bomb! I couldn't have gone natural without you. I wish you all the best.

Mel O Elle: @Naptural85, Do you think there's a difference between the "whole leaf" aloe vera juice and the "inner fillet?" I have the inner fillet version because they don't sell the whole leaf kind around here. I figure the nutrients come from the inside of the plant anyway...

Lifeisagift1990: Nice! I will re-visit yogurt and mayo deep treatments and flax seed gel for my hair. I have to try Trader Joe's Tea Tree Tingle Conditioner as well. I'm looking forward to an updated hair care routine video and the DIY Mud Wash video.

neoblkgirlswirl: Just got my issue of Glamour mag in the mail and was so happy and surprised to see you in it. You look beautiful in the mag. Congrats and much success to you and your family.

Jana Spriggs: I am definitely looking forward to your DIY organic hair wash recipe. Don't take too long to put it up, Nap. :-)

Britt Britt: I LOVE THE ACV I USED IT ON MY DAUGHTER WHOSE 5 AND I'VE NEVER SEEN HER HAIR LOOK SO SHINY AND HEALTHY THANK YOU

shaiinuhxx: Can you do a video on your natural hair journey? For example, you talking about the ups and downs, mistakes you may have made along the way, pictures of progress, products you loved or hated, different styles you did as your hair grew, etc. I'd be really interested in seeing it all in one place, especially for inspiration.

Authan Johnson: Hey Whitney and family how are you? I love your channel its uber informative and awesome. Have you ever used aloe vera straight from the plant for moisturizing. If so can you do a tutorial on it. Thanks and thanks for all you do.

curlykiki: i feel the same way about becoming a bit more lenient regarding all-natural products. there are still ingredients i absolutely do not "fool" with, but the further i go into my journey, the more flexible i become. tfs!!

Galanda B: I agree, I went the entire winter with "wet hair" without getting sick once! :-)

graceloveandjoy: Your hair and skin look so healthy! Love the shirt too :-)

Yelhsamation: Great idea with the whole making your shampoo thing. Can't wait to see a video about it!

Sierra M: I freakin love your videos... Not only are you helpful and show exactly what you do, but your consistent and dedicated... Thank you so much

Uhdreamer: Cutesox yes keep your Gel refrigerated!! I keep mine in the fridge she said it will spoil if not! And Naptural85 the fact that you learned how to make you shampoo is so crazy! I can't wait for that upcoming Recipe!

shadesof brown: I love the fact that you are giving your knowledge away at no cost! I make all your product that you have shared. Keep them coming! They work great! I just don't want to spend hundreds of dollar trying product. At the beginning I did! I went to the hair show and there were so many glorified shea butters just because you jar up your shea butter and added some scents and oil NO you don't need to sell it for $20. Coastal Scents.com make your own.

jacquie Ealy: I have been wearing my hair natural for 2 years now, an I love it.  I am wearing the Marley crochet braids for my protective hair style.

always_keya💕: yay whitney!! love all your vids and cant wait for the mudwash! i made all my natural products using your recipies

Britt Britt: I LOVE THE ACV I USED IT ON MY DAUGHTER WHOSE 5 AND I'VE NEVER SEEN HER HAIR LOOK SO SHINY AND HEALTHY THANK YOU

Moni: Tip! If you live in Canada, Fresh Co and some other grocery stores sell Aloe Vera leaf, like 2 foot long huge leaf, for 2 dollars. It lasts weeks! I just scoop out some and blend it and use it for both skin and hair And my son's hair and skin mixes. Guess what--I am still one my leaf, after 3 weeks!!!

Iriss Delgadillo: Yaaaee! Sooo excited to sea a new hair viiid! And guess what!? I just added Trader Joes Tea Tree Tingle to my regimen too! Just this Wednesday! :D I was happy you like it too.... I looove the minty fresh scent 3

Jen A Daw: I actually grow the plant myself and didn't know how to make the juice for my hair, just for ingestion. This is helpful, never thought about adding a preservative.

HaiLuoYin: This is the best video ever!!! I can't wait for your new mud wash video, I've been using the TerrEssentials for about 6 months and it's causing some scalp dryness. I'm going to get the Trader Joes conditioner this week, I've only heard good things about it. Thanks so much for the AWESOME video :)

D E S T I N Y L O V E: Yes.... Finally I love the shea butter cream!!!! Best wishes to you, Felipe, and Olivia!

Lexine Bandie: Absolutely love your videos (and your hair). Such an inspiration!

colorpurple86: I hope that sometime during my life time my hair looks this beautiful. this is my third time going natural. my hubby not crazy about it but i'm hanging in there

EZclusively_Blu: Great Update! Is there anyway you could do a tutorial on the "new" recipe for your "in-between" shea butter? I love the sticky, but sometimes I want a little of both in one jar. Thanks in advance!

Julia Lenoir: I love your videos. Your hair is beautiful. I have been natural now for 4 years. Keep the information coming.

twweety9: I just got terressentials shampoo today. I used it it made my hair so so soft can't wait to use it more thanks for the recommendation

NatashaCooked: So excited to see this new recipe! Love your channel so much :)

Melodie Lacora: Do your thing missy! I love your lemongrass leave in conditioning spray.

JustMeJMarie: Sooooo excited for you mud wash recipe!!! Can't wait! *sits in front of laptop patiently*

Allison M: Do you use your shea butter mixture on your skin? Your skin looks great!
