MY BEST TIPS FOR DRYING YOUR WAVY/CURLY/COILY HAIR . Those of us with thick, long, &/ textured hair can go 6-56 hours waiting for their hair to air dry naturally. (which isn’t ideal for the hair or scalp) so the alternative is to: #HoverDiffuse — a way to dry without compromise

*the scrunching step can be completely omitted. Do what feels right for you and if you embrace shrinkage, go for it* but try to hit those roots first, and leave your ends till the end!

In my professional opinion, this is the best way to effectively dry the hair and prevent damage from air drying on your strands, and your scalp. That’s also according to the facts, because we like to learn things like that

To learn more about why you should avoid keeping your hair wet for a very long time, check out this weeks YouTube video! The link is in my bio and my stories

Save this post for your next #WashDay and if you’ve already been diffusing using these tips I’ve been sharing for years, say hi below ❤️

I also want to add a tremendous thank you for being here and believing in me to bring you the best information out there related to hair care. I love being your voice of curls, science and reasoning. As well as teasoning. Does that rhyme work? I’ll just let myself out

With this technique, you can use medium high heat when the hair starts to form a cast or crunch. You can start to scrunch hold for 7 to 10 seconds and move on make sure to sleep from right under control into the bowl. This will prevent our pins unless you're into that foreign means it's still damp, so keep drying. If you want hair 100 dry once hair is dried, make sure scalp is too final. Product defined and volumized

yameii: “This will prevent odd kinks, unless you’re into that”

J: Gorgeous results! Loving Texture Tip Thursdays!

Yasmin: My wavy hair takes SOO long to dry that sometimes my routine includes air drying for 2 hours, a quickish 20 minute blow dry (I hate blow drying), & then 2 more hours of air dry before scrunching ‍♀️ if I don’t do the blow dry it’ll take at least 6 hours to air dry at home.

Allie: Loving the new Thursday shorts! Can you do more videos on workout hairstyles? When I workout I always end up with odd kinks even if I don’t loop my elastics. I use the curly hair ones too

Exhausted pigeon: Thank you for the tips because I just got one for my hair and I didn’t want to do it wrong. Thank you

That's Chaos, Baby: Scrunching after the cast has been so helpful!

Lisa Donegan: Loving the back to basics!

Katie: So helpful! Thank you!!! ❤️☺️

Mel Rose: Can you make a in depth vid on how to style the crown area of curly hair ?

Juliette oscar alpha november november echo: I absolutely love curly hair! Unfortunately I have superstraight hair that doesn't even hold a curl for more than an hour or two

Juna: Sadly I could never get into diffusing on a regular basis because having an extended curly hair routine in the shower already sends me into sensory hell as a neurodivergent person and I also HATE vacuum sounds

Lazzy Queen: Thank you for this though I don’t use heat on my hair because of how dry it is and I’m still currently trying to bring back moisture there so thank u

Unprofessional Dummies: Do I have to have my hair somewhat dry while I diffuse ? Because I diffuse when my hair is around 90% wet and I feel like I don’t get the best results

ThugWife: Been doing this for 20 plus years

Honey Bunny: Beautiful curls!

cecillia: whenever i flip my hair over after doing this it gets all knotted up, could it be from not drying it enough?

The passionate Soul: Nope! Can't flip my hair! It gets crazy and weird

shrek obama: my scalp always dries first and goes frizzy :/

Lina Shahhal: Mellll! How long does this take you w the Dyson?

Myah Sykes: I have to try again. I tried this after seeing one of your videos a couple weeks ago and I ended up with an Afro

Rachelle P: You the best

M Rence: “Unless your into that…” WTF?!? ❤️❣️

DanDanDan: I'm honestly not exaggerating, but it takes me almost an hour and a half to diffuse or 10+ hours to air dry....am I doing something wrong or ????

Kendall Butcher: Can you please post how you part your hair and what haircut to get? I’m really struggling. I have very flat roots but I have very long hair that goes all the way down my back. It gets curlier the farther down it goes. I know layers help but I don’t know what to ask for. Could you give some tips on what styling brushes to use? I normally shampoo and condition. Then go in with a nym curl talk leave in conditioner, nym curl talk defining cream, nym curl talk frizz control gel, nym curl talk moose, and then I diffuse and scrunch out the crunch. I have problems with making the roots and the underneath part of my hair defined. The underneath is always tangled. I also have absolutely no idea what to do to refresh my hair. It always ends up looking like a mess. I need help finding a way to refresh my curls and make them last. My hair looks very oily only on day 2 hair! I live in a very very humid area and I am very limited with hair tools and products. But I am willing to try something new! I know these are a lot of questions but it you could help me I would really appreciate it!!!

Belinda Apo: Music and hairdryer sounds are louder than the voice instruction

Kar Vega: Can anybody explain why when I use a diffuser my hair flies around like if I was using a fan? lol I've never managed to keep it steady, specially on the scrunch

Darla Day: What if you don't use heat?

Merry Go Round: Thank youuuu

Lina Guido: Looking Fantastic

Denise Rosner: Thanks!

Penny Coleman: What kind of hairdryer and diffuser are you using?

Veronica Salas: You are adorable

Erin Altstadt: thankyou

reaquila scriven: She’s beautiful

salt and sugar: Pls share dryer link?

Nado PCD: Mell how to fix FAIRY KNOTS!

Nichole Hart: Nobody on utube iv seen defuse the correct way yet

Hoor Alawady: Speed???

Katherine Morelle: The computer generated voice has an Aussie accent. Huh.

Chahat Sharma: Hey! I'm a curly girl and I've never used a diffuser because I'm afraid the hot air will damage my already dry hair. Is that how it is? Do diffusers cause heat damage to hair?

Diane Belli: cannot view
