Make sure to check out my previous video for the wash you can click the screen or look down in the About section below this video for the link, so the first step is to start off with clean hair. So in the previous video we left off with me prepping my hair, with an old t-shirt so that I could get my hair at least 50 % dry. So the first thing I'm going to do is start off with dividing my hair into four sections. This way, it'll make it a little faster. When I am applying the product to my hair in this video, I am going to be using the eco styler gel. So I always get a lot of comments about the washing go and how applying the product seems to be the most tedious part. So I'm going to show you the time that I start and the time that I finished applying the product to my hair shingling is definitely a great method for achieving a great wash and go, but I prefer to just apply the product in smaller sections, because the Important part is getting a product on all of the strands. I find that when I do that, I get less tangles when it's time to wash my hair see they didn't take very long. Did it usually the most time-consuming part? For me, it's a defusing I like to go ahead and dry, my hair, instead of just letting my hair air dry, because I don't like to leave with wet hair, and I don't really like to walk around with wet hair. Now, if I was to just let my hair completely air dry, it takes over 24 hours from my hair to dry. If I go to bed with even hair, that is 80 to 90 % dry I'll wake up with curls and kinks just smush down to my head frizz, it never works out. For me, my hair has to be completely dry and also another thing would have a completely dry hair. I can get the 3 to 5 and sometimes the seven-day hair, so usually the setting I use is a high heat and I use the low air pressure. This process usually takes anywhere from 30 to 45 minutes for my hair, so we've watched we diffused and now it's time to go. You want to put on some sexy makeup and you want to put on a sexy outfit, so you can go. What'S the point of doing your hair, so fabulously you can't go, it's all got ta go! Thank you guys for watching. I hope you enjoyed the video seven part, one on iTunes, Amazon and also physical CDs, available at Alicia, James Van Camp, calm brown, skin hair and the thick derriere. It shakes when out.

Babooqueen1: Alicia!!! OMG! Thank you for telling me about your site and you are an inspiration for us all who are transitioning from processed to natural hair! Your hair is simply beautiful! I send you positive energy and encouragement. Keep it up!!!

Number1ArmyDiva: I did this style yesterday. Thanks. The next morning my hair is style looking fab. I got so many compliments on this version of a wash n go than any others that I've done.

MsCain2you: I just wanted to say I love your videos and you are one of my inspirations that made me decide to go natural. I've been natural for almost a year now and loving my hair. Thank you for inspiring me.

opplanner: Love your hair! I, too, prefer to heat dry my hair. Once my product is in my hair, I wrap it in a tee shirt for 5 minutes, then sit under the dryer for 10 - 12 minutes. My last step is to diffuse & stretch for 5 minutes. Currently, I'm using Camille Rose Naturals Curlmaker Gel, but struggle to get multiple day hair. I'm lucky if I can get more than 2 days of somewhat defined hair. I'm looking forward to trying your technique. Hopefully, it will make a difference. Thanks!

A Atkins: i love your videos. you are my "hairspiration". I can't wait until i'm 100% natural and my hair looks half as good and healthy as yours. Thank you for sharing your hair journey with us!! you're greatly appreciated.

LexieLouL: Hey Alicia! I am almost positive that you and I have almost the EXACT hair type. How long did it take your hair to get to this length? Ive been natural for almost three years, and I mean my hair is growing pretty consistently, but I'm zoo ready for it to be longer and fuller like yours! lol

Adeanz: You are definitely my hair inspiration/motivation!!! I am so glad I found a natural on YouTube with VERY similar texture and hair density as me. Love love love your videos :)

Jasmine Sinclair: You're my favorite hair guru on YouTube! I'm only 16, and I have learned SO much from you. Thank you, and keep up the amazing work! <3

Kiss of Wellness: I love watching your videos. I do wash n go's as my staple style and the clear gel left my hair dry. I like the olive oil one but a little crunchy. I recently switched to the cream gel for design essentials. I would love to see how that works for you.

Carolyn Smith: I REALLY appreciate you posting this video and the co-washing one. I have only seen your hair in blown out states, so to see it in its curlier state before styling was great. I have 4A fine hair that's very soft that I feel like us never as full looking as others, but seeing how much our textures resemble in that wet, unsettled state gives me hope that as mine grows out more, I can make it look fuller as you did with yours. Again, thanks. These are my two favorite videos of yours.

GiftedCreativeArtist: I used your washing, oil rinse and diffusing method tonight and my hair is soooo bouncy and soft...Been wanting to try oil rinses on my hairl, but it works!! Love the results. Thanks!

lazygirl490: Yeah it does. I started using the garnier fructis leave in recently and I love it. It defines my curls also.

Piscesgirl03: I've been natural a few years and getting the perfect wash and go is still a struggle for me. So many tangles will try your method.

durotha ates: Hi Alicia, I just wanted to thank you for these 2 videos. I followed your routine almost to the tee - when I didi the oil sealing in the shower, I also added some of my hemp conditioner. I also made 1 mistake which was I left both in with the tshirt then re watched your video after about 20mins - so I deep conditioned by accident. LOL BUT WHAT I'M THANKING YOU FOR IS i've never had a wash and go that worked so incredibly awesomely!!!! OMG OMG OMG!!! I was so pleased. Thanks again.

Alicia James: Thank you! I haven't tried any of the other eco stylers. This one has always been pretty good for my hair, so I've just stuck with it. :) ❤

Alicia James: Yes, I've used it for so long so I've found little ways to prevent that. It does not mix well with anything. I always have to apply it to soaking wet hair. If my hair starts to dry it will leave residue. :) Hope this helps! ❤

lazygirl490: Okay, thank you. I'll definitely be picking those up. Do you recommend to use the Suave and Tresemme Naturals as a leave in, or just as a conditioner before I apply the Eco Styler Gel?

Alicia James: Hi! :) No, my curls and pattern have not changed. I have many wash and go videos my curls are the same. Diffusing and stretching makes a nice difference also. Diffusing minimizes the frizz, and then stretching out the hair elongates the curls. I personally wouldn't recommend using heat to alter the hair texture. :) ❤

Alicia James: That sounds fun. I showed my hubby and he actually thinks it is a fun idea! So we will put something together! ;)

naturalnicole: Love the hair and the soft makeup look!

mschris014: Your makeup was so soft and pretty. Loved it!

kell z: This video is everything right now!! I used the eco styler olive oil gel and had little flakes. I will have to try this new gel, your definition is so beautiful!! Did you use any oils after that? Such a fan I am of your videos and music!

Viki Mcdonald: Thank you dear Alicia, I've followed your tips and this is the best wash and go I have ever had.. love you loads honey xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Bedford41: Wow, looks beautiful. Have you tried any of the other Ego Stylers for this and were you able to achieve the same outcome?

Myesha: This is still lit in 2018⭐️ I would love to see your wash and go now that your hair grown from your cut. Thank you for being an OG lol

Alicia James: Thank you everyone for watching and commenting! I will be responding to more questions ASAP! :) ❤

Cris: I know this video is old, but thank you for embracing you texture the way that you do! it is helping me so much!!!

kerducky: GREAT VIDEO Alicia! You're FABULOUS from head 2 toe! I have never heard of a Diffuser until I watched your video from yesterday, it does look like a great method 4 dryin! I'll definitely try it n the future..as for now my hair is not at the length I want 2 wear a wash n go.(MAJOR SHRINKAAAGE!) I want mine 2 be FABULOUS just like yours! I've only tried Eco Styler Olive Oil gel 4 a flat twistout & I don't know if I should have used it alone but it left small flakes on my hair. THANKS for sharing!!

MzJay74: Loved it!! Great outfit & beautiful hair!! Love ur style!!

Alicia James: Hey pretty lady! Thank yoouu! ❤ Oh I never sleep on damp hair.....I tried that after seeing someone else's method, and my hair punished me that next day. It was so tangled and matted together. ugh!

BeLovely.Always: Hi Alicia! It appears that you don't really struggle with shrinkage when you do your wash and goes....what advice do you have on avoiding shrinkage? Or what would help with not experiencing a lot of shrinkage? ~Thanks! :-)

Alicia James: Yup for the summer! It just kind of happened! It's been over a month with nothing but a wash and go! :) Most of the problem was with detangling afterwards, but now detangling has been a breeze. I just had to be patient with my coils until I found what worked. It has been so easy and my hair has been enjoying it! :)

Ralphanee’ Love: Very cute... I was afraid of using heat due to the damage I put on my hair all these years with a perm... However I see what it can do when done right. Going to get me one ;-)) thx for sharing... And GO lol

ThatNYNaturalista: I love it! I'm wondering if your hair is tacky to the touch or a little crispy from the gel though. How does it feel? I have never done a proper wash and go because I still have a little relaxer on the front of my hair!

aneshiamarie_: looks so moisturized and defined...pretty!!!

mese1020: My hair takes forever to dry also. Its amazing... like it is holding on to the water.

Alicia James: Thank you! No, I didn't add any hello hydration. I had a little oil left over from my wash and then added the gel. :)

mjgarner123: Beautiful!!! Looks sooooo moisturized and healthy! In the comments you indicated detangling was a breeze. Will you do a detangling video after a wash n go? Have you noticed the change in detangling since using CG method? I also notice you used no leave-in, just the oil from the rinse. Does it dry crunchy? Thanks for sharing!

jess: Love this video! Did you already add hello hydration conditioner as your leave in?

NaturalsBest: Beautiful as always!

Ashley Smith: Hey Alicia, your hair is FABULOUS. Question, how does that gel feel on your hair after you defuse? It looks soft and bouncy, does it have a good hold? Does it leave the hair crunchy?

LeeLee141: Your hair is beyond Beautiful if that's possible. Thanks for your vids very helpful.

C Jay: My goodness I love your hair I hope to one day inspire someone the way you inspire me to take care of my hair <3

Lanee Wright: Omg! your hair is so beautiful. I should start doing that to my hair and maybe it won't look so shrunken.

shequira smith: i love her curl patterns!

BluEyedDiva1: Thank you 4 showing us how to wash our hair in the shower. I have always washed my hair in the tub with my hair upside down which I attribute to so many tangles that I deal with.

thesonganalyst: Hi Alicia. Thank you for this video. I was just wondering how you maintain your wash and go? Thanks

Noemi Antonio: omg your hair is so beautiful and it look very healthy with so much shine

Alicia James: I've never used the one with olive oil. What product did you use with it. I know from experience you definitely have to be careful what you mix gel with. I usually just stick to my oil and that's it. I bet your wash and go would be fabulous now lady! Thanks for watchiiiing! :) ❤

Shantae Durden: I think I'm gonna love this, you r hair is beautiful. Thanks for the wonderful videos.

The Childfree Curly Girl: My hair twin!! We have the same texture and curls! This will be me in three years :D

msteemalicious: Your hair is beautiful and your stunning!!

Alicia James: Thank yooouuu! So glad the videos keep you motivated!!! :) ❤

VizzyB: Do you need to put a moisturizer before the gel? I feel so wrong putting gel on bare hair :(

mjgarner123: Opps. I just viewed the Detangling video you did in April after a wash n go. Good technique. Love your videos!!!

Alicia James: My strands are pretty fine. I always consider my hair to be pretty average or normal, but most people look at me like I'm crazy and say it is thick. :) ❤

OttokeItsOk: never thought to use that much gel. I'm new to eco styler gel, and I only use a tad on each section. I love that skirt.

Jameshia: I will have to try the olive oil in the shower. Your hair looks really moisturized and shiny.

Lana Bana: I love your hair. You are so gorgeous. :)

Alicia James: I used to use hair pins to pin the hair up loosely :) If that does not work, some people just sleep with the hair out and lay on a satin pillow, then refresh in the morning with a little water and styling product :)

Shantasha Ling: Hey, I also use the Cantu leave in and I've noticed that it leaves residue in my hair whenever I use it with something else. Does that happen to you too?

Krystle Graves: Beautiful Hair!

Summer Reign: Beautiful!

ananse77: That's unlikely if the gel is alcohol fee, which I believe Eco-Styler gel is. Regular alcohol-free gel has lots of protein, so it can have an effect similar to protein overload if it is applied to already weak or fragile strands, i.e it makes them stiff to the point where they just snap off. You see that effect often on relaxed hair edges. It's unlikely to damage healthy natural hair with occasional use. Now, if the gel contains alcohol, you also have the alcohol's drying effect to deal with.

Alicia James: You can use it as a leave in. :) ❤

prncssjayjay7: I just wanna say I absolutely LOVE those shoes!!

NaturallyInspired11: I really love ur make up in this vid..gorgeous hair too

Sasheika Tomlinson: Do you use a leave in before applying the gel?

essiegue: I love it!

keisha9504: beautiful! what leave in did you use?

Monique: Great video. Your so beautiful inside and out.

Alicia James: I do a little shake here and there and fluff out with fingers. :) Thank you for purchasing my CD, I really appreciate it! :)

Alicia James: I had oil on my hair from my wash when I did an oil rinse. :)

durotha ates: i'm trying to keep my hands OUT OF MY HAIR - it was always in it b4, but now it's like WOW

pamrosina: A husband and wife OOTD would be cool.

rachray83: I think its is slightly hard/crunchy, it gives good hold, Im sure the more you use the crunchier

Alicia James: I had oil on my hair from my wash. I don't like to add too many products on my hair, it just builds up. :) ❤

Sonie Toe: i love the curl definition plus what camera do you use?

Alicia James: Thank yooouu! Pineapple method (high ponytail) or a high bun :)

Alicia James: Thank you very much, happy you liked it! :) :) :)

Alicia James: Thank you so much! :) ❤

Shèkinah Murhula: Your hair is soo shinny. Very beautiful.

Number1ArmyDiva: Loving the vid. Thanks for posting

shondale71: Yes to everything! ❤

1960genius-Tina: Gosh amazing!! Beautiful

Shay Marie Taylor: Ur skin looks so good, what do you use or are you wearing makeup in this video?

DMORECURIOUSDMY: Why didn't you show the back Alicia? Beautiful! Great job.

ananse77: I've discovered that on the "internets" "wash and go" is a term of art. It doesn't mean what logically one would think it means. It's more of a product wet set on loose hair. I.e. you get your hair wet and then set it in a style using *product*, not by molding the hair using braids, twists, or knots or setting it around tools like rollers or rods.

Alicia James: I had oil in my hair from my wash and oil rinse. :)

Monica Johnson: i'm so glad you use the krystal ecostyler, because that's what i have.

durotha ates: It made my whole day.

Niki F: Do you feel that it is the heat stretching of your hair that has caused the change in your curl pattern and level of control? You have always been very curly but I only asked because your curls now are much more "separated" than in previous wash n' go videos and I am searching for a way to "release" my curls from the frizz as well. Anyway I love your results

Kenyse: I love your outfit!

Alicia James: Thank you! :) ❤

Alicia James: Thank you! :) ❤

GLENDA809: Beautiful hair

pineapple_coconut3768: love your demonstration videos and your camera work and editing how are you able to set the camera angels while demonstrating and do you use final cut 7 or 10

durotha ates: love those shoes - always love the hair BUT THE SHOES OMG!

Beauty Sunshine: I wish I could diffuse my hair! But, my curls don't like it at all:( I think I get beautiful curls when it air dries even though it takes long! Lol

Alicia James: The hair has a little crunch, but that usually wears off after day one or two. I like a little crunch for hold. :) ❤
