Tangle Teezer Vs Denman Brush **Shook** Hair Loss Comparison|4C Natural Hair

Hey beautiful! Originally this was just suppose to be a video of my first experience with a tangle teezer, but it ended up being a comparison video instead. I am so shook at the results I got and I am so glad that I took the time out to compare the tangle teezer to the denman brush because I had no idea I was losing so much hair. What do you use to detangle your hair?

Thank you so much for your endless support! Be sure to subscribe to my channel and become apart of the family! Xoxo

What'S up y'all, so I know I look crazy, but I just got this package in the mail and it is my Tangle Teezer. I just ordered it the other day and I figured I would try it out on camera. My client is the one who told me about this little tool, maybe a few weeks ago, and while she was talking I was like so I know exactly what you're talking about that. Little thing is not gon na. Do anything from me. My hair is too thick. It wouldn't work out for me and then I was like well I'll, try it anyway, because I think it was only like, maybe $ 11. My hair is not wet yet, but I have my water bottle right here and I have my moisturizer right here and today's. The day that I'm or let me show you it's my elastic QP moisturizer. This is like. Oh I've been using this for years and I absolutely love it, but today's the day that I'm going to style my hair for the weekend, because it's Friday and my hair needs to look good Sunday. So it comes in a package like this. This is actually really cute here. It is salon Ely, it says: salon, professional, detangling, hairbrush, wet and dry. I'M gon na use it on wet hair cuz. The tangle teezer is invented by Sean P. I invented tangle teezer from my experience, working as a leading hair colorist. I soon realized tangles were a nightmare at the backwash and styling station. I'M gon na I thought the tangle teezer was invented by a black person, more specifically a black woman. I guess I just thought like it sounds stupid when I, when I say it out loud but like I guess, I kind of thought. Unnatural was kind of going through issues brushing their hair with brushes that are out now for people who don't have a hair texture. So I figured that maybe this black woman in my head thought of the tangle teezer to kind of help, people in our community, our like black natural hair community. So I was wrong or maybe this is just what's this tank Caeser. So I was gon na say. Maybe this is just a knockoff, but I doubt it anyway: here's the brush! Well, you can clearly see that this is what it looks like from the side. I feel like it has a lot of bristles. Am I wrong? This is the back all. It says it's tangle teezer and they have different colors online. I chose the black one. Oh, this is like a book, so they have this little booklet that says the same thing in different languages. So French, maybe that's Dutch and I don't know what these two are. This one says: tangle teezer boosts a revolutionary teeth. Formation that delivers speedy and gentle results, helps minimize hair breakage caused by mistreatment when the detangling promotes healthy. Looking hereby noticeably increasing shine, leaving it looking, silk silky smooth after stylings I'm gon na zoom in and show you so I'm gon na start off with a small little section. I'M gon na be braiding these same sections, so I am detangling and braiding as I go. My hair isn't extremely tangled because I just did a hair mask and I detangle it for right before, but let's just try it out see what happens. Oh okay, maybes a little bit, so I'm going to spray with my little warm water bottle. Okay, here we go so here's a section. I need to cut my hair next week, so I'll probably be didn't doing that on camera next week, I'm gon na add a little bit of product all right. Here we go huh, it's it. Actually, this is not as bad as I thought. Oh wait, a minute: okay, okay, it hurts a little bit when I get to the rule. I don't know if it's, because it's not wet enough or what ouch? Okay, no, that hurts. Let me spray it a little bit more. Maybe I spoke too soon. Okay, let's try again yeah. Maybe it was because I I didn't wet it enough, but I mean it said: wet or dry. So, okay, the I've noticed that the closer I get to my roots, the harder it is for this brush to go all the way through gently. So that sucks, but I mean other than that. Oh okay, wait! Wait you going other than that for liking. It goes through like butter, fascinating, huh. Okay. Now I do want to show you how much hair I lost. What is black, so it'll probably be hard to see, but this is how much hair well. This is how much hair is lost. Um, that's not like! It'S! Not not normal, but it's more than I think I expected for this one section. Let me braid this section up and try one more section see if I have a better experience. If I drench my hair, maybe my hair anything well, I can't keep saying maybe my hair needs to be drenched because the the package clearly said wet or dry, which I would never brush my hair while it's dry, that's just insane but we'll see. So let me try one more section: I have something using these um hair scrunchies. I just be pulling my hair out. So this time, I'm going to spray my hair a little bit more to get a little more trying to see. If that'll help me, you can go with that canopy there, a little move, it move yeah smoother. What have come if anything, little bit back. It'S still doing really well no pain yet, and I'm literally at the root right now. I can't believe this is working that Wow, okay. That was a little rough, but it's still fine Wow all right. Let me do not think it'd. Be me okay, so maybe my client was right because, honestly, it's never okay. So when I use my diamond brush, I feel like it's never this smooth and then for this brush to be so small and have all these bristles. This was right Wow. I can't tell her. She was right, though cuz this she's, not me like, even though she's super sweet I just so like right here is when it gets pig boats, so I go ahead and brush through it again, and this will be the last time and it honestly feels like butter. That'S exciting, Wow, okay, so this is how much hair I lost. You probably can't see, which is fine, cuz. I'M about to show you, okay, I felt like I lost less hair, then so, okay, this is on the first try. This is on the second try yeah. I really feel like this is less hair. Maybe it's the same exactly I don't know. What do you think? This is the second time when I added more water, and this is the first time where I struggled a little bit but either way I feel like and maybe I'm wrong but hold on. I feel like when I use my Denman brush. I lose more hair and so that's, what's kind of like making me a little shook, because I feel like my Denman brush. Where is it? I think it's in the bathroom, but my Denman brush has more space I feel like, and I expect to lose less hair with the diamond brush because of the space that is between each bristle. But I don't know. If that's true, I don't feel like that's true. Actually, let me go grab it and let me detangle this with my diamond brush and see what the difference would be. Brb. Okay, so here is my diamond brush, and this is what I meant when I was saying that I think it there we go so it has, I feel like it has more space in between the bristles. I don't know if you can see that, but I feel like there is more space compared to the tangle, teezer yeah yeah cuz. I don't know if you can tell, but there are longer bristles on this tangle teezer and there are also short ones in here. I really don't know if you can tell yeah if you look at it this way you can see the shorter bristles so there's a lot of bristles in this tangle teezer versus this demin. I'M gon na do tangled this section with my diamond brush and we can kind of compare all got a crime on my leg: oh ah, okay, using the same amount of product. So already I'm kind of struggling with my ends, but it's not okay. I say it's not a bad struggle, but struggling just a little bit. Okay, we're getting a little better! Oh okay, that hurt Oh whoa, okay, so one thing's for sure this Denman brush versus the tangle teezer. I think the tangle teezer is way more gentle on my hair than this gosh. This hurts yo, I mean, and I've always used a Denman brush, and I mean so. I'M used to the pain and I I don't know man. I just feel like now that I've experienced the gentleness of the tangle teezer. I feel like the pain that comes from this Denman. You know all right, so I think we're good we already tangled, so I'm gon na braid this up and then I'll show you what's in my brush, but one thing I can say about this Denman brush, though, is that my curls pop more when I use my Ten burn Denman brush, like you, don't see these when I did my tangle teezer whoa, not that I'm brush peas falling you. Let me show you how much hair is in this diminish now and I think it's more obvious to see, because the background is pink. Okay, so is it blurry, so this is the amount of hair that I've lost, and I think that this is more yeah. This is definitely more. This is my tangle teezer I mean I'm sorry. This is my Denman brush. This is my tangle teezer. What no? In my palm, it's more obvious, let me try to show you. This is the diamond brush. This is the tangle teezer Wow, I'm Chuck, I'm Chuck. Why is this much hair coming out when I can only be losing this? What oh, I'm done, I'm dancing! That is the results. People I'm shook. Wait. Let me come closer. Come come here. Come here come here, so you mean to tell me that my Denman brush has been pulling more hair out. Okay, no, wait, look, listen, listen! Sis! Get you what's! Hangul teaser! You hear me because apparently, tangle teezer is out here: saving edges. Okay, save in here saving lives, so I did not have faith in this tangle teezer this itty-bitty brush, but guess what guess? What sis you saw? The results! You saw the results, I'm sure I got it. Oh yeah go, I know where I'm going, but I'm just so shook I need to lay down. I need to have a snack. Thank you guys for watching get you a tangle. Teezer cells like don't come well. No. I was gon na say: don't come back until you got yourself a tangle teezer come back, regardless of if you got it or not, come back. Okay, I am for sure detangling with the tangle teezer from now on. If I'm not gon na just finger detangle the Denman brush got ta stay on the side. I'M sorry like and I'm gon na finish, my hair off of camera. Cuz. There'S really nothing else to see here. So if you are not already subscribed to my channel, please be sure to click that subscribe button, and I will see you guys in my next video. I love you guys so much bye,

mon amour janae: girl, let me even think about brushing my 4c hair dry... imma be bald by the next day.

MsHoneyFly11: Never brush or comb 4c hair unless wet and with product. I only use the brush with conditioner in my hair in the shower. When the package says dry they are talking about bone straight hair def not 4c hair

Keyais2Cute: Most people detangle wrong with the denman. The way she was detangling with is the way you smooth your hair after detangling. To detangle with the denman you're suppose to hold it vertically, the glamtwinz made a video about it. I started loosing less hair doing it that way.

MsNaturale Michelle: It probably hurt because section was too big. Half the section and try a quick finger detangling first.

Endraqus Range: The second you start struggling to detangle your hair, add more water and moisturizer for more slip. More slip = Less Breakage

hoosieraussis1: I always thought that the Denman brush was more of a styling brush, meant to be used after detangling anyway. As you mentioned, it's really good at clumping curls for wash-n-go.

Sharee Walls: Honey I bought 3 of those from Family Dollar at about $2 each. I got it from my daughter 4c Thick hair. Its amazing!!!! Plus she's NOT CRYING ANYMORE!!!

Loving Me: Girl I told my hair stylist, which was the first one I ever went to, I used a demman brush to detangle my dry hair. She almost passed out. She said that’s why I have hair loss. When I would detangle, I would lose so much hair. She showed me the proper way to do it which is soaking wet and being very gentle.

VSantiago718: Just wanted to let you know that you are the one that inspired me to go natural. I can honestly admit I always thought 4C hair was a mess and have spent my whole life relaxing and getting blowouts. I saw your video and I saw how gorgeous your hair was and I stopped straightening that month. I'm 6 months in and I love my texture and will never go back. Thanks, sis!

Lynn Charron: Because the bristles are closer together and at different lengths, it will pull or collect more of your fallen hair much easier while detangling... I love your hair! ❤️

Intentional Adulting: I've been using the tangle geezer on my 4c hair for about 6 years and it's been a godsend. I've never experienced damage or split ends with it. Just be reasonably gentle, finger detangle lightly first and do not use on completely dry hair. I recently made a video about how I modify my tangle teezer to make it even more gentler- check out my channel x

RaShonda Danielle: I LOVE my Tangle Teezer!!! Note for the Denman: when detangling, the brush should be held straight up and down vs sideways. Hope this helps someone

Ginger Snaps: I love the Denman brush for definition, but don't use it for detangling at all. I use the Felicia Leatherwood brush ,which is amazing. However, despite tool, hair has to be very moisturized.

Hannah Matheson: I've got the whitest hair ever but I love all these types of videos. I can't imagine the struggle. You guys are so strong and pretty.

SiennaSong: I've tried both. The tangle teaser is good but has been known to cause split ends. Try the Denman brush with fewer rows (like 5) or modify your Denman brush by removing every other row. Your skin looks lovely by the way.

Diba Lowen: 4C hair cannot be detangled by anything without moisturizing! LOL I don't care what the package says. Your hair is beautiful.

E G: I appreciate this. I've never liked the denman brush despite how much some seem to rave about it. I find the denman may only be good if your curl pattern is more lose or if you have straight hair. For years I've stuck with a good ol' pick. Not the cheap metal ones but investing in one is a better alternative to all these other combing products.

Silver Agatka: I loooove this brush. It makes detangling any texture hair so much easier. I thought it was an overpriced piece of plastic until a hairdresser used it on me. My friend with hair texture like yours thought it wouldn't work on her hair since it's for hair like mine (super straight, super long) and it went through her afro like butter. Fantastic invention.

Lily Raimey: Nooooo! Pre-combing with the Tangle Teezer is essential! After you get the big kinks out, it works best for finishing the job. Also, I recommend holding the base of your hair as you comb it so you won't feel pain as you work.

Lia Zamor: the Denman ripped out so much of my hair when i used it exclusively. I now use the Wet Brush Pro-- it's so gentle on my hair and does a really good job with minimizing breakage, and then i follow up with my Tangle Teezer before styling and the shed hairs are kept at a minimum.

Taylor Ware: You should try the one they designed specifically “thick and curly” hair! Aka us kinker textures lol. The brisltes are longer, so it makes detangling even easier.

Jeanniene Baker: Girl, you are the epitome of a beautiful black woman! Woman period! Lol. Hair goals!!!

Roslyn Griffin: Saving edges...saving hair...saving lives I’ve always stuck with my denman brush. Thanks so much for the demonstration. I’m definitely gonna get me one now❤️

Amy Jo Bernoski: This is my favorite video in a minute! !!! Absolutely ordering this TODAY from amazon for my daughter! Super pumped. So happy you found a product that worked:). Saving edges, saving hair, saving lives. ...lol

hoosieraussis1: I know girl! I'm 6 years into this natural hair journey, and I'm just trying the tangle teaser 2 washes ago. SMH! I actually bought one a couple of years ago. I looked at all those bristles, punked out, and gave it away without ever using it. All this time, I've been spending an hour finger detangling in the shower and suffocating in the steam! To experiment, I tried finger detangling 1 section. I stopped when I came across a really tangled area that would have taken me a long time to finger detangle strand-by-strand (very frequent with my 4b/c hair). I switched to the tangle teaser, and I never found that tangled area again. It was just gone. What had been an obstacle for my gentle fingers was a non-MFing factor for the tangle teaser! I've been a believer ever since. The only thing I still finger detangle are the very ends of my hair because I noticed a little snagging when I started at the very end with the tangle teaser.

Angelina Castellanos: Honestly, the deman brush has made my hair so soft! The deman brush is really good for my hair and it’s so easy to tangle.

Robyn Robinson: I tried the denman brush one time on a section of my hair and that was it. I could tell it was way to rough and pulling out my hair. I don’t use a brush period, even the most gentle brush in my opion will pull more hair out than what’s need to come out.

allegracj: My 9yo son has 4c grade hair and watching this has made me more sensitive to what he is dealing with when I wash his hair. I thought he was just being too tender headed and overly dramatic. I now see I don't know exactly what he's going through (I'm 3c/4aish) but I can see your pain. I'm getting a tangle teaser for us both. Thank you so much. I feel bad.

AmoreAmore: Okay sis you should detangle with the tangle teaser and define with the denman it’s what I do

Michelle Garcia: My hair is between a 3b/3c and I use the wet brush for thick hair. It works wonders. My hair is about 22 to 24 inches long and extremely thick and it works wonders very little hair lost in comparison to the denman brush and no pain at all. Using other brushes would take me an hour to detangle my hair to avoid as much breakage as possible. Using the wet brush I can detangle in 30 mins.

zourdoudaki: I've been using the tangle teezer for years in the shower to detangle after conditioning. It's great, it's the best and I take it with me wherever I travel!! Also, don't detangle with the Denman brush holding it horizontally, but vertically, always.

N.: I’ve been using the Tangle Teezer for years and it works really well for styling and detangling . I used the denman on my hair as a kid and ooo girl I can already feel my eyes watering from the pain. I think people forget the denman is no joke and you actually have to use it *properly* to get the best results. For me personally I just wanna detangle my hair and live my life. Ain’t nobody got time to *learn* how to use a brush lol. I’ll leave that to the stylists.

Michelle Ngozi: The denman is definitely more painful lol that thing straight rips out my hair (type 4b). The tangle teezer is pretty much the same as those cheap circular shampoo brushes and they work really well on smaller sections, less painful too if the section is thinner, and a lot less shedding.

Tre's Music: Your hair is beautiful. I recently switched from the denman to tangle teaser. It is definitely gentler on the hair and I get a more thorough detangle. One thing I noticed though is that if you dont have clean sections (parts) then you cld be brushing hairs frim sections that are already braided when you get to the roots which could be why it hurts at the roots. Idk if thats whats happening in your case, just something I used to experience.

Miniskirt: Evrery hair strand grows for a cycle of 3 to 7 years and then falls. And 3 months later a new hair strand replaces it. In average an afro hair strand grows for 3 years ( for women). Naturally fallen hair comes out with a white round head. Try to find it at one of the ends of the strand to see if it is a naturally fallen hair that has ended its growth cycle

Dareese Hinds: Hi Lynda I stopped using my Denman because it was taking out my hair. I was informed that a Denman brush is a styling brush not a detangling brush which is why the Denman pops your curls like that. The tangle teaser actually detangle- I know...mind blown :)

Janet H: Remove every other row in the denman brush for easier detangling and less breakage.

Jasmine: I finger detangle before I use any tool. I have a tangle teezer but I use that in smaller sections and while I'm in the shower. For the denman brush I make out every other column of bristle (learned that from naptrual85 in one of her older videos) but definitely when I use smaller sections (with either tool) I don't get as much shedding be or hair loss.

Abnormal Animations: What I usually do is softly pick out my hair with a medium sized pick so it can get most of the general tangles out. Then I go in with the den man brush so it can evenly distribute the product that I’m using in my hair. The den man brush will pull out your hair if you don’t use it correctly, and your hair has to be fully saturated

GEM: I had the same exact reaction . I was out here loosing hair for no reason

Marylin Cotton: You are absolutely gorgeous, and so is your hair. I’m praying my hair get as long as yours I’m a 4c I believe

Niecy Lee: Sis.. the tangle teezer brush is the EXACT same as one i got from dollar tree, it just has a handle. Its considered a shower brush and it works wonders for my curls. I use it when im conditioning my hair and twist outs pop afterwards

Lisa Scott: We gotta remember our curly - coily hair is def different! Use your fingers to detangle with conditioner or oil in it. I took my hair down yesterday DID NOT DETANGLE just used pre poo (coconut oil & peppermint oil). Then used my fingers after it sat on my hair for a bit. I then just detangled gently, washed with a detangling shampoo & conditioner and then and only then did I use the denman brush. I had little to no hair sedding or loss. Most of the products they do not make for afro centric hair so please keep that in mind. That is a lot of hair . Great video new subscribet

Oh'liv: I just used my denman brush for the first time and it was great, wayy less hair came out then I thought. My sections weren't as full as yours so that could've been why more hair came out for you. But too each their own ‍♀️do what works for you

FreedomWriter3: I have 4c hair too. I need to get me one of these! But I heard they'll kill your ends if you overuse them. And yes, if you're trying to detangle your hair while it's dry, you are in for a world of pain!

Michelle Dunn: I've been using the Tangle Teaser since 2009. It melts through your tangle like butter.

dreamfaller63: So interesting to watch videos like this with people with 4c hair. I have 3a/b hair and I bought the tangle teezer years ago. Initially I was quite impressed but after a while I started to really dislike it. I have quite thick hair and I felt that I never quite reached the roots of my hair with it. Been detangling with a wide toothed comb for the past years but I just bought a denman, mainly because I'm curious to try styling my hair with it and see if it adds definition. However, I can totally see why you would prefer the tangle teezer. Detangling 4c hair looks like a (painful) adventure for sure.

Nikki Marie: I’ve been using the denman brush for 4 years. I might have to go order me a tangle teaser and see how it goes. I lose quite a bit of hair with the denman brush but haven’t thought anything of it until now.

Valerie Jean-Pierre: Sis, your shedding problem will decrease after you get a good trim cause I notice a lot of split ends. I’m pretty sure after a trim you’ll see less shedding. Besides that, your doing everything right with saturating the hair before going through with the brush. Brush is amazing! I need to snag me one of those!

Jess: I used a tangle teaser for the first time yesterday and IM SHOOOOKEDT!!! It took me less than 15 minutes to detangle my entire head and it brushed out smooth asl!! I have ThICK armpit length hair [i cut it] damn the tangle teaser really is that girl

Nafatier Gray: Well first off I'd like to say thank for having this channel in the first place it helps a lot of people. I feel when I say this I am having an unbiased opinion because I have never used either. I personally have to say that from what I see I can't really decide which is better. 1. I don't think you wet your hair as much for the Denman brush as for the tangle teaser the second one. 2. You used a bigger section for the Denman brush which means more tangles which also means more hair is gonna come out. 3. I do not know how long you've had you Denman brush but if you have had it for a while it gets that natural wear and tear. So that means when you use it, it isn't going to be as good as when you first bought it compared to the tangle teaser which you literally just got.

Kristina Rousseau: Girl, I have been natural since 2009 and when I first started my journey, I was using the tangle teezer on wet hair without any kind of butter or detangling product and my hair was thriving. Then I started watching all those natural hair care videos saying that we should finger detangle and use the denman brush and I just stopped using the tangle teezer and even forgot I had it. Now a few years later, I realized that my hair was soooo better off when I was just using the tangle teezer and all this finger detangling did nothing for my hair but making it less detangled and thus proned to single strand knots etc. I'm going back to using the teezer now! (I'm a 4c natural)

Sydnie Hi: The denmen brush is used more to style after detangling, and supposed to ‘clump’ your curls together

angelyna brooks: so I’m a mixed girl so my hair is real curly and it tangles a lot, so my mom got me the tangle teaser and it’s sooo good! I just wet my hair, then put these hair milk products, and brush! it comes right out!

nya green: “4c girls can’t grow their hair” um what? This is just another example that uh YES THEY CAN. Your hair is gorgeous ugh❤️❤️

HiThereLove16: I definitely use the tangle teezer as an in shower brush. It needs to be really wet to work well, and also, you have to be taking the collected hair out to get a smooth detangle. The more hair in the brush, the less it detangles well.

Larissa H128: I love the Tangle Teezer! No matter how I try to detangle or style my hair with the Denman Brush it rips my hair out!

Chloe Lewis: what if you used the tangle teaser to de tangle and then used the denman brush to get your beautiful curls back. idk if it would work but worth a try for how gentle the tangle teaser was right?

Melissa Valdez-Drexler: I’m convinced!!!! Thank you!!! Hopefully this will save my daughter some tears on wash day!!!

Tziporah Yisra'El: I swear by mine! I use it to brush my hair in the shower spreading the shampoo and conditioner. I stretch my hair with it while wet and I even wrap my hair with it and use it for chase method. I lose NO hair ever( from combing with the teaser)!

MsNaturale Michelle: Try smaller sections with hair saturated with conditioner you loose less hair with Tangle Teezer. I don't use mine anymore too many split ends. I have 4c fine strands mid-back hair. I think the Tangle Teezer causes less damage on those with coarser strands. Usually the damage is apparent over time not after a few uses.

Wall Flower: Don’t pull through tangles, work through them. That will also help reduce hair loss not to mention less painful. I use the Denman brush. Haven’t tried the other yet.

Nobudy Nanim: I love this video I've been losing a lot of hair from the exact same brush. I'm definitely buying the Tangle Teezer

Leticia Yeboah: I use a tangle teaser with the deep conditioner in my hair and straight after. And girl you don’t have to comb through it as many times as you were trust me! When my hair is dry and I use a tangle teaser, my hair is straight only ha!

Ola Dunni: I just tested out the tangle teezer and it worked really well for me but I bought the one specifically made for Afro hair.

who's who who: I don't use any brushes on my natural hair. Brushes take out my hair. I use a wide tooth comb primarily. Sometimes I use a rattail comb for my edges and the very tips of my ends. I detangle dry to damp (spray) with apple cider vinegar and spring water mixture. Thereafter, 4 parts and detangle each section with widetooth comb.

Shay's Ways: I’m on my third denman brush and was thinking my hair isn’t feeling it anymore but was trying to convince myself I was trippen but this upload is great. I know what I’m getting next!

Dellice McElroy - 4PQ-C: Hey Love...for a more accurate review, you should have compared the the same sections on each side. When you used the Denman brush there was more hair and the length was longer, as well. I think it would have been different results if you would have done one brush on the left and the other on the right. Also how you hold the brush affects how it detangles.

Felisha: You can use the Red by Kiss Professional Easy Grip Detangle Brush. It's just like the Tangle Teezer but a lot bigger

Vanessa Noel: It’s so funny how I used to own one of these when I was younger. My mom(Haitian) used these on my hair. They always worked great. Never thought to buy one for my hair when I got older partly cuz I never knew what it was called

Moriah Russell: I haven't even been detangling my hair lately with the Denman brush but if I want to smooth product through detangled hair or Define My Curls and more then I will use it. It serves its purpose so I keep it around but I was thinking about getting a Tangle Teezer

Passi: Takes too long and it's painful so no use for me. Being 4c is so difficult, I think we should have a medal of honor

Angie Nwigwe: That’s a lot of length! I definitely would have parted in smaller sections though...

Nana Esi O. Nyarkoh: Thank you for sacrificing your scalp and edges for our education <3

Elle M Nop: Just a tip, denmans work better when you remove half of the teeth. Maybe it’s the rubber material in addition to the teeth, but taking out every other row of teeth helps make it easier to use while detangling and doesn’t rip the hair.

YT4Me57: I threw my Denman brush in the trash three years ago. Darn thing ripped my hair out! The Tangle Teaser is a DREAM COME TRUE!!! It's all I've been using ever since.

Or Selena Didi: Hi sisi. It's my first time on your channel. I want to suggest that you held the tangle teezer in the vertical direction vs the horizontal one, you'll be amazed at the difference. Watch +Zig Beswick for more details. She's the youtuber I learned this trick from. Xx

DelaCremeDela Greene: I love mine! It helps me teach my daughter how beautiful our Afrikan hair is painlessly.

Tatyanna Hayward: Deman brushes are meant to smooth the hair cuticle that’s why people like to define/clump their curls. Tangle teezers are detanglers, completely different. But I want to compare other curly hair detanglers to the Tangle Teezer like the Felicia brush or the Micheal Phillips (I think those are the names )

Rays: I haven’t used my den man brush in years. I switched to Brush with the best Felicia brush. But I usually finger detangle thoroughly, then I use the brush. But when I see that much hair it’s telling me it’s time for a protein treatment. TGIN Protein treatment followed with a hair mask, oh my then use Camille Rose Almond jai as the leave in OMGSH! And yes that’s on 4c low porosity hair. But I do that same technique, hold them strands till the very end with that teeter/brush

your virtual agent williams: i love using demin brushes because for the crul pop and how it detangles my 4c hair, make sure to start from the ends and move up slowly, its easier if you do small sections, just subscribe!!!!

A. Teacup: I identify with you and the detangling struggle. Your expression at 13:49 is me so much. Excellent video!

Judith Abbey: I have experienced more shedding with denman and now I know it’s not just me. I detangle before washing my hair and normally my routine is using water and conditioner to moisturize my hair as I’m detangling. So most times my hair is very very damp but not wet. I use my wide tooth comb to detangle first, starting at the bottom and working my way up, then I go in with the denman. I’m still shedding a lot even with this process compared to the comb alone and now I’m convinced my hair loss is from the denman. I guess my hair just don’t like it. I’m 4c btw.

OrdinaryOpulence: Sitting here detangling with my Denman brush right now watching your video... You got me ready to stop and go buy a tangle teaser thanks a lot lol no but for real thanks for the video !!

Square Peg: i ditched any type of comb/brush and stick to finger detailing. takes longer but definitely not ripping out any unnecessary hairs

Mia C: I use a wide tooth hair pick on my very natural thick curly kinky 4C hair, damp with Loreal 's conditioner for curly hair it seems to help prevent breakage & keeps my curls.Hope that helps somebody.

Lanie R.: I always detangle my hair with a wide-tooth detangling comb in the shower while my hair is saturated with conditioner. Then I go through with my detangling brush to define the curls.

Durail Colvin: Okay I will say this, with 4c hair like it looks like yours is you should really always be detangling with your hair pretty much soaking wet. I've learned this over the years and it makes a world of difference, now I only do my hair in the shower, period.

Luvenia Joyner: 1. Your eye lashes do look amazing, I kept thinking how cute they look on you! They look soo natural! Are they natural? I like them. 2. Your hair looks so thick and healthy, what do you use on your hair? I’m trying to get my hair to grow back to it’s natural fullness like yours. 3. I think the tangle teezer is more for thinner hair and the other is for thicker hair. That’s just my opinion. Also I think the teezer might be for a detangler.

The Carefree Natural: i use something similar, called a shower brush ($1 :) ) when i'm in the shower and my hair is full of conditioner. I'm glad i found it cuz it keeps me sane when I'm detangling

Pia Sharp: Denman have a paddle tangle tamer brush that is AMAZING. I use it on my wet hair after washing, and a few days after washing using a spray bottle and making it damp. It's the best brush i've ever found. It's called "Tangle Tamer".

Jasmine S: New subscriber here! Your lashes are just beautiful Sis!! I was considering trying the tangle teaser as well because my hair was not feeling the denman brush.

EmotionMasteryLLC: Love your hair! Beautiful curls

Breana Hayes: I've been using the tangle teezer or a version of it because I got mine from dollar tree, I like the tangle teezer wayyyyy more than a Denman brush.

TheWashAndGoChick: I love tangle teezer the original, when that one broke I got the one for curly hair, it is even better. I use it in the shower with my hair drenched with conditioner. I am done detangling in like 5 minutes.

Sidonia Daniella: The tangle teezer has been around for YEARS I have seen plenty a 1a/2a girl using this thing and raving about it. It definitely works, but probably better on those straighter finer hair types tbh. I also don't get why it doesn't have a handle?

T. Simpson: It looked like the Denman brush was ripping through your curls. Try the wet brush too, It's amazing!

Cashmere Kinks: Your hair is so beautuful. This is only the second video I watched of yours. But I subscribed during the first video -didn't even wait until the end. But anyway.... I used the tangle teezer when I first went natural. I stopped using it. Then I started using it again a few years later. Each time I found that this brush SHREDDED my ends. I had to trim so often. It was butter. Then I got to the ends and it just ripped through them. I just wanted to warn you so that you can watch for it and be aware as you use the brush. Maybe I was doing something wrong. That was years ago. So maybe I was. But I think that it's good to be aware of possible damage so that you can watch for it. Keep up the awesome work. I can't wait to watch more of your videos!

Mos At Large: I actually use my Denman brush to remove hair from my Tangle Teezer. LOL! But I think it's not the brush for my texture. I've never been able to comb my hair root to tip without pain and tugging with a Denman brush. My partner, on the other hand, prefers the Denman brush and she gets mad definition as well.

Stagnant Fox: A little tip girl, remove like 2-4 rows on your Denman brush. Just slide it out and remove a few rows (as many as you feel you need to) and slide it back in. I'm a hairdresser and I use this trick myself on my curly clients.
