Hey everyone In today's video I'm going to give you a mini masterclass on color, so you can understand what color is the level system and why all the attempts that you've done at home haven't worked.. So what this video is for is really to help. You understand and maybe help you make better decisions on which colors to choose. But also kind of demystifying and finally explaining why box color never really works.. So the first thing you need to know is understand. Color levels. So neutral is where the middle is and that's what where the numbers are, but then there's a warm version of each number and there's a cool version of each number.. Basically, a one is black, so this is the dark. Side. Ten is blonde. So the lightest it gets. Most brunettes that we see with really really dark hair they're at about a level 5.. The most important thing that you need to determine is where you fall on this scale and where you want to be., So pretend that someone is a brunette level, five, whether they're, warm or cool right now, we're just focusing on the number. Pretend she wants to go Blonde in one day so that she wants to go all the way to a ten. So if you see from here to there that is five levels, and this is where it gets tricky, and this is where most hairdressers would say. That is not possible because you cannot jump five levels in one day without breakage.. The level you want is basically really simple, because you just point ten-blondes, that's what I want.. The most important thing is knowing, where you're starting so the problem with box colors. Is they don't know where you're starting and even though they have that little index where they'll show you if you're dark? You know use this, and if you are medium use this, but basically you know, there's still only three choices.. Now, let's focus on developer.. So there's ten volume, 20, 30 and 40.. Forty is the strongest.. Basically, if you mix a ten volume with any one of these levels, it's just kind of going to stain the hair a little bit.. Basically, it just sits on top of the hair.. So basically, what these do is basically they strength on how much it opens up the hair.. So if you imagine a 40 that has a lot of strength, that's really gon na just rip open the hair so that you can put any color you want in or if you're, just using bleach, you're just stripping, basically the hair.. So for most people that want to just go up one level, pretend that she's a brunette and she only wants to go up to six.. If you want to go just one, you would use ten volumes.. So basically, ten volume will move you one level, but keep in mind that that's only on virgin hair.. So the problem with box color is that sometimes say someone is at level five and they want to be a beautiful golden blonde in a level seven. So they're, like ``, Okay, two levels - I will just take 20 volumes, so I'm going to mix 20 volume with a seven warm and I'm going to get the perfect color that I want.'' Well. Imagine that their hair is virgin only at the root, and then they have box color on the rest of their hair.. What'S going to end up happening, is the roots are going to go orange and the rest of the color is going to be not even budge? It'S going to be the exact same color it was.. Along with that, I still understand that people still want to be able to have a solution at home, and not everyone has the time or the money to keep going into a salon.. So what this video is about is a solution for that.. I heard about eSalon on the Rachael Ray Show a while back and ever since it was always kind of in the back of my mind, and then I saw it again on Cosmopolitan magazine and that's when I started to finally research on it and find out what This really was about., So basically I reached out to them.. I got a sample and I was absolutely in love.. Basically, you know when you hear about something and it's kind of like it, you you need a solution for something and then you finally find your product and then sometimes you end up trying it out and you're still somehow a little bit disappointed. Well. This was a complete opposite.. I was beyond impressed that the service actually delivers.. So basically, what eSalon is. Is you tell them the color that you have and the color that you want? Then you upload a picture., So the website is run by salon, experts that actually know and understand color like the way a colorist in a salon would.. So basically they formulate something super specific to you. So you don't get generic instructions where it's mixed one and two and apply it's not going to be like that, because even where to get beautiful, hair color, sometimes you need to add something different to the root, as you do to the ends and all of that.. So basically, that's what this is. Is they it's really formulated to you.? So it's basically, you know like you're, going to the doctor and you're exactly telling him what the problem is and what you want to achieve, and now he can give you a prescription to fix all of that.. So this is individually blended, matched color for each client. So you know no two boxes or no two formulas will be the same because it's absolutely unique to you., So I had to order and see for myself.. Obviously, I'm not going to recommend anything to anyone without me, seeing how it really works.. So here is the you know their little kind of booklet, and here are my specific instructions to me and it says `` Elle'', So it says: ``, Here's your custom, color in the lightest, blonde.'' And the instructions come with pictures and all that so super easy to Follow. Next, what I realized is that it really comes with absolutely everything you need, and now, if any of you have ever used box color, if anything, it might come with a really cheap brush and that's about it., You get a brush, you get the specific developer. So it it tells you what it is, so this just says that it's 15 of volume so super specific that you could never. You can't really get 15 volume in a box, color ever., And there is my specific color blended for me and it tells you you know that it's really like a prescription, it's adorable and it says `` For Elle Bangs'' and then it says made on you know The date., The amazing thing about this too, is that it comes to you in like three days so, if you're like, I really want to get on this, and I want to change my hair color. It gets to you that quick so and it comes with the heart: locket color, safe shampoo.. So again I don't know about any box color that you've ever gotten. That comes with an actual real shampoo and not just some weird tube of stuff.. So, just everything everything really is high-quality. It'S everything it's just a smaller version, but if anything that I personally would use in the salon., So everything included there is the bowl. There is the brush the clips and even timer, with the with a battery.. I mean it's just it's there's nothing that you can extra need from this. It'S really everything that you need for your perfect color.. So now that I've shown you everything, obviously you're like thinking ,''. Oh, my gosh, it's probably going to be super expensive and it's like going to be salon prices and I was floored when I looked at the price. So for all blended and formulated colors for you it's 19.95, I think about $ 20. But for the first time you get it for $ 10, so I will definitely leave the link down below.. I'M such a fan of like startup companies or companies that you just know that are going to be amazing, but they're, just not really well-known yet. And when I found out about this and did a little bit more research, there's no way that I could not. You know go without sharing this with you.. I really truly am so passionate about this company and their products. And for me to say that as a stylist and as a colorist for me to find a product that is a take-home product that I totally believe in trust me. It'S really hard for me to recommend something: that's not high-quality and especially anything. That'S here.. You know once you've gone to school and you've gotten the training and you are color certified and you really understand the chemistry of color and to see you know a company. Do something that's so awesome? It really just makes me think. Why didn't I think of this? This is a brilliant idea., So I'm more than happy and excited to to talk about this company and to give it awareness and basically just tell everyone.. I hope you have absolutely learned something about color and the levels and all of that., And I hope you do give this a try.. Thank you so much for watching. Please subscribe if you haven't. And as always, I will see you in the next video. Bye.

BitterSwt02: Noooo what just happened - please continue the chalkboard explanation in a different video. I was like yes yes yes this is what I need and then it switched to an ESalon testimonial lol . I'd love to see more of the chalkboard explanation if you're able. You are incredibly knowledgeable and have such an amazing positive aura thank you for all you videos.

Susan Crome: I have just used esalon for the first time after box dyes seemed to go brassy quickly. Asked for dark blonde all over. I am pleased with the result. Having watched many videos about hair colouring now it looks like even permanent hair colours fade over time. The answer is to use neutralisers to lessen the fading between re-colouring.

Micheal Monty: Speaking of boxed dyes, I have to compliment and recommend Loreal Feria Absolute Platinum for someone trying to go blonde. Had to do my hair twice, but after toning with Wella T10 after 1st dye, then T18 after saturating second time with bleach, my hair is white with slight amt of color. Very thick bleach so subbed some of my clear 20 vol. Dev, but still helps to use filler b4 as well as coconut oil to help it from drying out too much. Thank you so much for all your help and great posts. You helped me to get my hair right for about $40-$50. Have 5 kids, so not much $ goes to the salon. Also thanks to somegirljess, who is a great "product tester" for people that can't go to the salon.

Linda Zaffke: I don't have much hair left so I wear wigs full time but there was a salon in my hometown who did something similar. You went in once for a consultation. They developed the formula for you, applied it the first time (at salon prices) but then you could order the color after that for about $30. It was really great! Glad to hear there is a company doing something nationwide!

MsLisaparsons: I have in the last 2 days created my own hair disaster. Thank God for you & e-salon, it just may save my sanity!! Definitely trying this! (At this point, it can't get much worse)

beautysnobonadime: I have used this product. The concept is great but they fail at really giving you the color you want. I didn't have the best experience with them. And seemed to go around in circles with them understanding the color I wanted. And I wasn't looking for anything drastic either.

LD Freeman: Thanks Elle! I've been a "bathroom beautician" for 30+ years and really appreciate you sharing this. I will definitely try them out.

Melissa Barrett: Thank you so much for this! I definitely will be trying this. you are going to save us so much money with your tutorials! last week I cut my hair and both of my daughter's hair. We look great. Thank you thank you thank you!!!

melinda wilson: Don't forget to tell everyone you have to keep buying this stuff on auto ship. I took your advice and tried the hair care and it's awful. My hair is like straw when I use it. Now I can't find a way to cancel products. Very dissatisfied.

Hey, I'mValarie: You should include when you buy a box initiall with the Esalon, it's actually a subscription, 20$ plus 5 for shipping for up to every 12 weeks. And that the set of the gloves and clips and timer and such is an extra 12$... Still a great deal! But I feel like it should be included? Not like it's your responsibility at all =] I just think it's nice information to include.

Candice Beaman: I love using eSalon!!  Have been using them for a couple years now, and they make it so fool-proof.  I recently changed my color from a blonde color to a light to medium brown, and they were great with making sure that I didn't go too dark too fast. You can also tweek the undertones of your color to make it perfect!

Bernie: Your hair looks nice already, I am excited to see how it looks after you use the new box, and I've seen the advertisement, and was wondering about it but you have answered some of the questions that I did not get answered for myself. Again, looking forward to your transformation!

RobinOrzo: Man this was exactly the problem I had with boxed dye recently...my virgin hair was lighter, the ends were dark and now I have a weird reverse ombre going on where my roots are lighter red and the ends are daaark red almost brown. Not cute. You would think I'd learn not to mess with boxed dyes! Kinda scared to touch my hair but KNOW I need to do something...will see if this service can help me out, thank you for the video!

Chelby Monroe: I am already signed up just waiting. I wanted to enjoy my ombre for a while longer than I will go back to the dark side in the fall. I'm more stoked to use these products now that you have given them your stamp of approval XOXO

MTZ: I know this is an old video but I wanted to caution anyone who DOESN'T want to go darker using Esalon. I have level 4 hair & just needed to touch up my slightly (10-15%) gray roots.... I ended up with a level 2 root, super opaque, awful looking result. Your better off going to a beauty supply store or using Redkin you order online!

M Hines: Hi Ellebangs, Thanks so much for your videos. I've learned a lot. I am really tired of paying $150 everytime I go into a salon. I'm trying to get the color I want on my own and it's a bumpy road. I'm pretty warm 5 or 6 and I'd love to get to your Ash blonde color. More like highlights. I used Splat Platnum foiled and I guess I didn't leave it on long enough, I'm more strawberry blond. Eh, not real happy with it. I went to Sally's and got toner - 10A Lightest Ash Blonde Permanent Creme Hair Color from Ion. It seemed to blend it with the already old tips of highlighted hair but It's just tolerable now. Can I try again in 6 weeks to lift it again? I was looking at this video and you mentioned esalon. Will they help me even if I've already bleached my hair?

Sandra Glodowski: Elle, I'm curious how you received a match from ESalon. I have the same natural color as you - except that my hair has a more reddish tone. ESalon was not able to help me because the strongest developer they will send is a 20 volume. I appreciate ESalon's honesty and customer service. I guess I have to stick to the salon....

Nancy Gurish Behind The Scenes: Thank you ElleBangs! Love learning about hair color! It's good to ask your stylist - don't take a chance on box colors! ~~~Nancy

Tommy’s Mommy: Disappointed after checking the website. They didn't provide any option for toning up the hair, for instance brown to blonde. Simply changing the color without lightening the hair was not what I looked for. I assume that was probably why the website sent you 15 volume.

Christy Blithe: Thank you so much! I really learn more from you, than I was taught at como school. Lol Oh what shade is your lip color. I love it! You & I seem to have the same, blonde hair color on our level 6 natural color. Thanks to your educational videos. I'm also have neutral skin tone & Amber brown eye's. So you've really helped me not only understand my beauty care needs but my clients as well. I'll definitely keep sharing your video & ideas.

Kellyluvskolors: Thank you for this information about this product service. I'm definitely going to try it instead of my normal box color Clairol Natural Instincts ammonia free exotic shades 6R Bright Auburn Brown with Aloe, Vitamin E, & Coconut oil. It's been my PERFECT COLOR for 5 years. But I miss my colorist since I'm on a fixed income and can no longer afford her. This option however may be a GREAT alternative change and chance at a healthier hair coloring option. Especially since I have aging natural silver highlighting now. Which is the reason for my need for color. Please keep us informed about inexpensive alternatives that you come across that you have tried yourself and have worked with good results. Thank you again.

Tara Swain: This is amazing! Thanks for all the information you give us it really helps :) can I just ask I have the same level hair colour that you have to start off with. I put on an 8n with 20vol and my hair has gone a little gingery. Is this because I left it on a little too long or do I need an 8ash instead? Thank you. Also did you use to use a 9n or 8n

Armida Johnson: You have explained this so well and detailed. I was on the fence about trying this company, but now I am going to try it. Thanks so much! I have subscribed.

Tiffany: YAY! This is awesome! I usually get my products at beauty alliance but I might have to try this out! You explain stuff soo very well! Better than my cosmetology teacher did!! Hahaha!! Anyways HAPPY EASTER SILVIA AND ADAM!! Can't wait for the next video! See ya then! Xoxoxoxo Ps. I can't wait to wear my NYX blue and purple eyeshadows, to match my easter dress today!!! Lol! I can't thank u enough for the stuff you gave me! I will never forget it!! Xoxoxoxo

Carmen Molino: Hi Elle, I will try the E salon and I will let you know. Your videos are very informative. I do not have time to run to the beauty salon all the time. Right now I corrected a yellow with a formula that my hairstylist provided, however, the color looks too hashy. So that I need to correct it again.

Cyco Eva: The company that sells this "custom" hair dye spams facebook and several websites with strange enticing titles and pictures. pictures such as an avacado with an egg inside it that says "the secret to healthy hair", that always made me apprehensive.

Let's Talk Beauty: Girl I thought you were going to tell us how to achieve that level 9 from a level 3 in one day ... I'm tired of going to salons ,spending $300 for it to still be messed up and them having a manager "correct" it, only it's never corrected but only to find out my hair is melted off ... I need YOUR advice!

Jim H.: Whenever you are talking about color you are talking about TWO Different Actions - LIFT & DEPOSIT. The TYPE and LEVEL of Colorant determines PART of the Equation and the Developer determines PART of the equation and the STARTING LEVEL determines PART of the equation as well as TIMING and if the Hair is already colored or chemically processed. With COLOR: You get one level of lift with 10 Volume as long as the shade used is AT LEAST TWO LEVELS LIGHTER than the starting color - Otherwise the amount of LIFT is CANCELLED - OUT by the amount of DEPOSIT. EXAMPLE: A level 5 Brown colored with a Level 6 Haircolor and 10 Vol. Developer, the hair is Lifted ONE LEVEL from 5 to 6 then, it is colored back down to level 5 by color deposit - It may look BRIGHTER but, not significantly LIGHTER than the starting level until it begins to fade. High -Lift Blonde Shades and 40 Volume can lighten up to 5 Levels and tone correctly but they work best on hair Level 4 /5 or Lighter. ALSO: The first three levels (1, 2 & 3 ) require TWICE as much lifting power as the next three levels to reach the next level - EXAMPLE: Level 1 Black needs Twice As Much LIFT to reach Level 2 as a Level 4 would need to reach Level 5, this is why it is so difficult to get Levels 1, 2 & 3 to the lighter shades even with bleaching.

Elaine S: Esalon screwed my hair bad! After speaking with them and telling them I wanted ash blonde to my already medium blonde hair.. They sent me what they said would work.. My hair turned freakin orange! I have been dying my hair for years and this was a nightmare! I was so pissed off. From the looks of these comments I see other people have had the same problems.

michelle rivera: Im learning alot with your videos im starting to do my hair at home because im tired of paying alot of money to salons that ruin my hair..thanks for the videos please keep uploading.

Lyndsee Schwartz: So I was VERY excited about this! I want to go a few shades lighter for the summer but when I went to choose my desired color it wouldn't let me pick ANYA light shades :(

Texas KatWoman: I hope it works for others, but that company totally messed my hair up. They gave me something that darkened my naturally blonde hair three levels. Total disaster for the middle of summer.

M. Sheridan: Hi Silvia, I saw your video and ordered my first kit. I just received it and will use it today. Im really impressed with the kit.

Alex K: I have beautiful wavy brown hair and its already turning white in my late twenties! I haven't colored my hair in a couple of years and so, I'm really nervous about choosing a color. I don't know whether to hide the white hair or flaunt it. Any suggestions?

Suzette Smith: My hardest problem is figuring out my start color. I also have highlights , lowlights and something really dark I don't like. . But I will look and see how they do this. Thank you for sharing!I did learn more about developers!

ppitstop38: I know this vid is over a year old, but I just came across your channel yesterday while researching how to fix my orangey roots from a bleach job by someone who sent me home without toning... Anyway, I cannot afford salon visits. So I am excited to hear about eSalon, and will definitely try them out! P.S. I love your videos; I've learned a lot!

User 168: There's absolutely no way you can formulate without seeing the hair and pigment with satisfactory results. This is even more so with blonde tones. Unless you want to spend hundreds of dollars removing your undesired results from your possibly broken orange hair, I would not recommend this process.

shawna rocks her feathers with hoops: I did an at home ombre a few months ago and I LOVED IT!! then had to do a touch up, it didn't lighten the ends enough so I asked a Sally's beauty "hair specialist" to help. she gave me wella toner in 118 and my hair went this horrible orange color, I was so upset! NEVER AGAIN will I go to that store for advice!

Miss Ellie: My drugstore colors work just perfectly. It’s about trail and error. I’ve had one mess up and many successes. Just about knowing your hair.

Lindsay Chaple: This was great girl! Thanks so much!

Marsha H: Sylvia, you've changed my life! Well, part of my life. Thank you so much for your vids! I'm a huge fan!

Tina Brown: I love YOUTUBE, all these video's you are sharing with a totally clueless woman (ME) from someone like YOU who is about educating all of us...Thank you so much and Namaste!!

Cinthya Amaya: Thank you for sharing all this helpful information! I'm a visual learner so the white board definitely helped! And ESalon! Omg! Unbelievable! Thanks again!

BV: I LOVE your mini master class idea.. DO MORE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!  Not that I would try to do my own hair necessarily (I'm a light blonde with highlights, a few lowlight pieces here and there and very picky about the color) but so I understand more how to communicate with my stylist and know what I and he are talking about.  And it's actually really interesting to me, but I'm not going to go to beauty school. About the product: I'm surprised gloves don't come with it, but I'm shocked (in a good way) that all the other extras do.  As I was watching the video, I was thinking, 'No way is she going to do her hair with this', so it doesn't surprise me that you didn't.  I can understand why you wouldn't, being a hairstylist, but I agree with some other comments regarding how you would know how good it is if you don't try it.  The concept is amazing though I think.

Danielle (6Hypnone): Just know the ratio of bleach to developer, usually recommend 20 or 30, usually 1:1. Can lift about 5 levels in 1 go. Then tone. Assuming your hair is very dark and in good condition. Why this is so hard to tell ppl and find beats the hell out of me. So there you go. Have fun and you're welcome.

Dressage Spirit: I haven't yet had a colour at home fail (fingers crossed!) although I have never tried to go blonde or much lighter at home. I have done various brunette shades, reds, coppers, purples and black at home but always go to my salon to go blonde. I would say box colour is great for any of those but not for going much lighter or blonde.

Gina Reynolds: Ha!! I can't even get perfect color in a salon. I decided to get away from the very pale blond that I wore for so many years...have tried at least five times to just do a neutral dark blond. It is real dark on me and I don't mind that. What I do mind is that is has REDDISH TONES!!! Everyone says No, it looks brown to me. NO IT LOOKS RED TO ME. PLEASE TELL ME WHAT I NEED TO DO!! I have some people who have told me to put a diluted Titanium/gray cover on hair and it will turn a beautiful color, minus the red/brassy tones. If I have to pay at the salon, they need to deliver the color I want. I mean it can't be that hard???

FazTheSass: I'm allergic to hair colour and going to hair salons is too damn expensive! The last time I went to a hair salon to cut my fringe it cost me £12 pounds only for a cut of very small amount of hair!

Rockysmom: Sounds interesting. I would have loved to see a before and after

travellingfemme: Thank you for this video. I am looking for an at home semi permanent color. I have a balyage that is too light and copper and have been getting it fixed at the salon with semi permanent/toners but it fades within 2 wks even though I wash my hair every few days since it's curly. Any recommendations ? Thank you!!!

Jennifer Moreau: I was so excited! Until I checked the site and realized there's no way to get where I want to be without hitting the salon. Kind of a fail :(

Jo: Oh wow this is amazing. I wish they had this here in Australia, then again it would probably cost 4 times the amount, such a great idea

Sigaliot Designs: You explain everything beautifully, but can you explain how to lighten a dark brown *non virgin* hair? If you could make a video with a model with a colored dark brown hair and show how to lighten the ends a little to a lighter brown, it will be great!

Sarah White: I just ordered from eSalon... cost me $20 CAD including express shipping. That doesn't come with all the extra's, but that's okay. I hope it works as well as you say. I'm nervous because my hair is finicky when it comes to its blonde!

Marilyn monroe: omg! these people kept driving me nuts to buy there color. but I was to scared ... you have given me the confidence to buy it. thanks Elle x

Brenda B: Ok so this service really is legit. I decided to really complicate the process with my yellow toned blonde hair and mousey roots with a little pink at the ends and requested an even all over color mixed for me. I gave pictures of my typical everyday styled hair, a close up of the ends to see the yellowish tone and pink ends, as well as a snap of my grown out roots. I was contacted within 2 hours via email to make recommendations, ask further questions, and really go back and forth with me to ensure I would be satisfied with the outcome of what was sent to me. We decided on a shade darker, cooler, and 15 volume developer with some added instructions on a few things to do the day before I color. Mind you, this is the $10 start up deal and in no way shape or form would I expect this level of thorough here!

Bri A: I colored my hair black about 10 months ago & I tried to see what this company would recommend & they gave me only the option of getting a violet or ash tone but still black.. I would like to change it to a light brown though..

Gia *diva* Kenzo: Thank you so much for this, very helpful video.I'm so glad that you shared, all the important info with us❣Cheers beautiful =)

Brooke Reeder: Just did this. THANK YOU for this information. I’m so excited to try it.

Andrea E: THANK you! This was very informative. In regard to the developer info, I just got my hair colored at a salon. What I left with: my virgin roots were brassy while the previously colored hair was ok. I suppose she used a weaker strength developer? She should have used something stronger? I have never had this issue before. I think she was a new graduate or something? Thanks for the information and ESalon seems like a GREAT service!! .....I usually color with highlights and low lights but need a root touch-up in between (I get gray at my temples and roots). This sounds like it could be a solution?

Julie Diana: I had a question. I've tried doing lowlights on my blonde hair with demi permanent hair color. And it never stays! It washes out after a few days. Should I try a darker color or a permanent color?

J Galena: BEWARE! eSalon hair colour is HARSH and I didn't like the colour. I asked for a chocolate brown and I got a horrible, muddy red colour. Yeah they're cheap - because they can't even give the crap away.ALSO, they put you on AUTO delivery!!

Katherine P: My original hair is level 3.5 and then I color my hair to 4.5. And then 7 months later I wanted to go one shade lighter and I bought *schwarzkopf perfect mousse* the color is called *dark chocolate* (the box showed you could go from the darkest brown to reddish light brown), and instead of going lighter it went 2 shades darker!!:"( damn it my 4.5 shade became a 2.5 instead! Please help I want lighter color preferably level 5-6.

Jeannine Marie: Any recommendations for at home Glazing? Does it keep your hair shiny in between? Thanks.

1_Supercell: Very awesome video. One of the best on coloring I have seen. Thank you for making this video!

Utube03: Hi, there I love all your videos and you're soooo beautiful. I have natural dark brown hair, but I recently colored my hair to a brown box color but it looks dull and ashy and now my old old highlights are trying to come out so I need your help lol. I unfortunately can't afford going to get my hair done at the salon, but I would like a very light dirty blond like a golden blonde so what do you suggest for box color products ? Thank you

Laura's Life Dog Training & Dog Vlogs: Very well explained :) Good job.

Ody M: Omg !! You are so right !! That happened to me I did my hair at home and the bottom part stayed the same color !! I was like ! What ! This did not change ! And it looks a littler green ! How do I get a nice blonde !! Omg ! It’s hard with regular box hair colors from the store

erica vigil: What! I need to try this out myself! I been using jet black box dye for years and my hair is lifeless and I want to go lighter. Amazing idea!

Megan Schultz: This is soo cool!! Thank you for the mini class in the beginning too ☺️

Deirdre Reen: I've used eSalon and love it! I do have a question for you. What's the truth about coloring your hair when it's dirty . . . not just a day old clean several days. Will the color take?

The Strongest Nerd at The Gym: My natural colour is cool blonde, a level between 7 and 8 (really:) ) and I wanted only to cover my grey hair - about 3% but all in the front - and asked my hairdresser to do it. Unfortunately she used number 6 (6SB Goldwell). I want to go back to my natural colour - will bleaching bath and toning with Majirel CC8 after the bath help? Of course I made a typical mistake - I used number 8 (Majirel Cool Cover) at home but it only covered the newly grown hair, the coloured remained the same 6 dark :(

GreenPearsareDelicious: I just did the eSalon profile quiz using medium brown hair and it blocked out any blonde shade!!! How did Sylvia get a box of blonde color since her nat hair is med/dark brown? Hmm.

Carmelita: I just ordered my color and can't wait to try it.  Good video!

Headless Eyes: I did a review a long while back I thought it was great. Then someone was like uh really? It seemed negative. If it was crappy I would say. I still have the purple shampoo. I was wondering if anyone used that on top of their blonde? I haven't changed back yet.

Finnezze: I first heard about this on another youtubers channel and I like you,.. was really impressed. Ty for the lesson although I'm a hair stylist but color is something im branching out on. I really apprecitae your knowlegde. xx

Amber Morgan: Thanks for sharing! Do you know if they cater to balayage or ombre styles?

Meredith Yuskiw: Oh man. I tried eSalon because of your recommendation. Big mistake. It seems like redheads and brunettes have better luck with their color. They're experts? Ok, so why do they seem to send everyone 15v developer? I just watched another youtube reviewer and read a totally separate blog review, all had 15v developer. (ok so 3 people is not definitive proof.) I talked to someone at eSalon and said I need ASH blonde. Maybe I wasn't adamant enough about it. My hair is orange now. I've never had results like this with box color from the store. I was not trying to go from brown to blonde, I was actually trying to go slightly darker, from light-medium blonde (warm) to medium ash blonde upon their recommendation!!! Don't fall for the gimmicks, people! If you've had success with box color in the past, just stick with it!

Isobel Sky Walker: OMG thankyou so much, I died my hair with box colour and it weant a weird ginger when I wanted blonde, I used this website it was so easy and fun and the colour is absolutely gorgeous and exactly what I wanted l, highly recommended!!!

Brittany Ronchetti: This sounds AMAZING I can't wait to try this!!!!

meganmil21: I used this system the other day. I ordered a Demi permanent level 10 ash blonde. It didn't come out ash though, it came out strawberry blonde. Could I use the wella t18 to tone it? And if so, should I use 10 developer or 20? And on wet or dry hair? Please let me know if you can! Thank you :))

Maria del Carmen Garcia Lingo: Can you a tutorial or recommendations about how to keep your hair shiny or add shine? I've heard about glazing and seen several products at the drugstore and at Sally Beauty but I am not sure if they really work. Thanks in advance!

Shannon Benedick: Hello, Love this.... However what I have the most trouble with are covering my greys.. I'm 44yrs young  color my greys every three weeks but the color fades so quickly whether I home color or have it done at the salon. Do I need to use a stonger developer? Or is this just what I have to live with.  Thank you so much for taking the time to make all these videos, I love watching..and look forward to them.

theneighbordowntheblock: I'm always hesitant about stuff like this but I trust you. I'll definitely check it out :)

dbarcon: I went to order the custom color and it was 10.00 for the first time but an additional12.00 for the brush clips timer bowl etc. So that was something I think you should mention in the future not your fault just misleading

Sunny A Segura: I looked up ESalon and my hair is about your color shade and I naturally have dark brown hair and I am light not olive skinned have 60% gray. In this video you mentioned that ESalon offers the 50 volume developer. I did the questionnaire and at the end they said they could only do 20 volume and like warm shades of light brown. Obviously I am not starting out to go lighter, I already am the shade I want but I wanted to try their product. What do you recommend? I can send you a pic so you can tell me what you think. Thank you in advance

Daniela Pinto: I'm so happy to have find your channel, i've been watching all of your videos. Your great!! Sending you a hug from Portugal.. Obrigada pelos teus videos, és fantástica! beijinho Dani

Ginger V: Box color does work perfectly fine if it’s used right and on the recommended natural levels

shelley wilson: Thank you from My Heart !! I needed to come up from Dreading he Ugliness of FLAT ,un-natural looking Hair . I So Apreciate This Video

Mich H: If you don't like the dye cancel the plan after you receive the order. I found I could use half of the mixtures and save the rest for another time as they gave a generous amount. I wanted blue black but my ends were still red/ orange . They offered me a free one if I stayed on the plan.

Melissa 918: Thank you for sharing! I would love to try it. Are you going to do a tutorial using this new product? I would love to see the results.

Beverly K,D: Thanks for the home colour sight. Looks great. Will use it.

Jennie Baez: Sometimes using hair color by itself is not enough to achieve the right color. Especially when your hair is dark and trying to go light. It usually comes out gold or too yellow. You need highlights and sometimes lowlights.

Sissi the German: Well explained Silvia. I understand which color to use but the developer still is confusing! Had to giggle about how often you said "basically" ☺️ Kisses, Sissi

MsCavalier01: Thank you so much for this video, Elle! HUGS! Colleen xox :-)

dazee mae: wish you would do a video for us beginners for understanding the papers inside the boxes of professional colors in mixing colors with toners. the amount of this color mixed with a toner
