How To Maintain Braidless Sew-In|| Microlink Tightening & Maintenance

This is how I maintain and tighten my client's braidless sew-in.

Hey guys welcome back to my channel candy's hair diary. Thank you guys for tuning in today we are going to be doing um, maintenance and tightening of my clients, micro links, so she has the braidless sew in and these have been in her hair for about. I think eight weeks yeah this set has been in about eight weeks and it actually has been pretty good um, considering the amount of time that we usually tighten it up so between six to eight weeks is when i would tighten up um these links. Last time we actually went longer, but that was due to the um whole current virus and the shutdown and all of that so couldn't really get to her at that time. So we had to stretch that thing right on out, and that is what we did. It lasted a good good little while so um, i'm starting in the back. As you can see, this is um the first little track in the back, so that is where we're going to be starting and you can see where the looseness is and where the links are at now and it's not too bad. Actually, i thought it was gon na be a little worse, but it's actually not too bad. So i'm gon na go in with my handy little pliers and i squeeze them in the opposite direction so that now it goes back to a circular shape and i'm going to show you exactly what it looks like um a few minutes more into this video. So you can actually see but um, so i squeeze it and it opens the link back up and i push the link up at the same time grabbing her hair to make sure that her hair doesn't go up as well. And i yeah push the link right on up and re-close it, making sure that it is nice and flat, but not too tight to wear. It will be snagging and pulling her hair, because that is definitely not what we want to do and also when i am doing the tightening i like to do this before i actually wash and style her hair. Oh, i think some people like to do it afterwards, but i like to do it do the tightening before and also guys with doing it beforehand. Um like when you do push the links up, you'll see what the dirt had been trapped in the link. So that's. Why i like to excitement beforehand before i actually do the washing and whatnot so that i can get those dirt rings out of her hair completely. So, as y'all can see, we got that first layer in there nice and snug. It'S all the way back up and you can see, there's no tension when i'm pulling it up and it lays just as flat as ever so now i'm going to go ahead and continue moving on up to the rest of her head going track by track. I'M just checking to see how loose that one is so, as you guys can see where the little loop thing is. That'S where i squeeze the ring to get it back open. So i take it. I put it in that little ring thing as you can see, clamp it open. It opens the lid and then i take it and you see that dirt right there. I take it and i slide it right on up holding her hair in a pump position and slide it right on up and clamp. It back closed so and we are all done with the tightening and as you guys can see, she is back yes. So all the links and the tracks are all the way back up to her scalp, so almost like she just got a full set. So now all we have to do is brush it out and go through again make sure everything looks good. I'M gon na brush it out, i'm just showing you guys what the links look like all the way back up to her scalp and what the tracks look like all the way up to her scalp. Rather, everything looks so. What i like to do is do a pre-poo. Well, i'm not gon na. Take it pretty cool, because this is actually a pretty cool, um, shampoo or anything, but i'd like to take the shampoo and actually put it directly on to her scalp um. Before i put her under the sink, so i am using a deep cleansing shampoo made by geo bunny, you can get this this brand now it used to be only sold in a vitamin shop, but you can find it pretty much everywhere. Now you just supply stores. I'M not sure if walmart has it, i know target, has it um and places like that, so i'm going through her whole head and just with conditioner and i'm spraying her hair with just regular water, and i really want to get in there that way. I scratch really good in between the tracks and make sure that i'm able to saturate her hair really really well. So once we've shampooed and conditioned tower dry, her hair - and this is what it looks like so now - i'm just going to go in and detangle before. I blow dry and, as you can see it blends in even with her hair, really wet it blends in really good um. She got this hair from. I think she said, tresses hair boutique. They have some pretty good hair because we've been dealing with this hair for the past almost a year. I think she's had this hair. I think it's definitely been a year so right now, i'm just going to go in small sections and detangle, and that is just with a regular vintage brush that i'm using and generally when i detangle i do in four to five sections and if you guys didn't Know her, you would probably think that this was all her hair that i'm just brushing out, but it isn't, even though it looks like it even though really it is because she bought it, so it evens her hair. Now i'm blow drying it. I started just trying to go through to slightly dry it and now i'm taking my sections smaller sections blow drying it. That way. I can make sure that it's thoroughly dry before i go in with the ceramic irons and when i say y'all this hair blends in so well with her hair right. Even when it's blow dry, it still looks like her hair. Now they were all dry, i'm putting a little um heat serum on her hair just for a little heat protectant we're gon na go in and we're going to do. Um, like a soft press, because i don't really do hard presses, like with the straightening comb or whatnot, just not my thing, even though she does not wear her hair curly at all, which i still don't understand. I have tried and tried to get her to wear her hair, but she don't like to wear it curly, so we always straighten it or curl it, but um yeah. There'S no need for us to do any type of our place in her hair, so we're gon na do a um. Now, i'm just brushing it up making sure that she's still got that ponytail action going on because she wears her hair in a ponytail. Sometimes so, just making sure this you can easily go work, there's nothing poking through everything is flat, nice and flat. As you can see, it is i'm doing my normal four part sectioning starting at the nape anytime. I straightening straighten out. Where really you know, i always started to make any type of style that i always do. I'M using my favorite irons, my baptist irons, and usually it only takes me, maybe one to two passes and that's it measure i can see it's super shiny, i'm just going over her edges slightly and usually do um either barrel curls or some tight curls. But we've been straightening it just leaving it straight with a slight bump at the end, and so because i'm only doing a slight bump. You can do this in like bigger sections. It doesn't have to be small small sections like i would if i was actually going to go through her hair and curl it adding a little bit more serum just to kind of control the flyways a little bit, but not too much, because her hair is very Oily sometimes so it can get greasy quicker. So i just added just like a drop comb through and we are all done and i thank you guys so much for tuning in don't forget to comment and like and subscribe. I look forward to bringing you guys more videos thanks again for tuning in hope. You guys enjoy you.
