Ashleii asked this question because her braider is telling her that the only way she will have a neat install is to relax her hair first.

Tip #1: No you do not have to relax your hair!

Go to a braider that specializes in natural hair or at least had prior experience with braiding natural hair.

Tip #2: Learn to do them yourself, I did them on myself with natural 4c hair!

Hello, everyone. This is Breanna Rutter, author of the book, the natural hair Bible and founder of howtoblackhair.com for the special videos. I love to answer the questions you all send me via email. So if you have any questions that you would like for me to answer be sure to check out the description box below for additional information, so without further ado was to get right on into the video in this video is inspired by email. I received from Ashley Ashley emailed me and she asked me if she has to relax her natural hair in order to get micro braid, the very neat and beautiful. So I'm glad you sent me this email, because a lot of people that you have to relax to get braids and I'm going to debunk that in is video and give you some tips of what you want to do. As far as it goes with getting your micro braids done, so of course you do not have to relax your hair to get micro braids. I do all of my styles on my natural hair and they come out just as beautiful as it was when I even used to have my hair relaxed. So you do not need to relax your hair to get braids done. The number one tip that I want. You to follow is if you are letting someone else do your micro braids is that you go to someone who specializes in natural hair. Now this person doesn't necessarily have to only do natural hair, but if you do decide to seek a braider in your area, you want to make sure that they are comfortable with doing your natural hair or they even have clients that have natural hair. That day do braids on most times a lot of people will just tell you yeah I've done natural before I know what I'm doing, and I can do your braids for you want beware of those kind braiders, because a lot of people are out there turn a Quick money and they will tell you anything to get you in there chair or to do in. Do your hair to get your money and go so make sure you do your research and you search in your area for braid shops or salons, and then go in and try to talk to someone who specializes in natural hair or who has much experience with natural Hair to the second tip that I'm going to give you is, when all else fails, it super useful to do micro, braids yourself. I'Ve taught how to do micro braids on a DVD tutorial for YouTube, as well as for other people want to know how to do their own micro braids. Well so course anything I'm mentioning in this video. You can check the description box for more information, but I will highly suggest that you learn how to do your own micro braids, because who knows your hair better than you and who knows what spots are sensitive on your head or what things bother you when you're Getting your hair braided other than yourself, so I've taught myself how to do my own hair as well as plenty other hairstyles as well. So those are two things I really want to keep in mind is that, of course, you do not have to relax your hair to get braids done. Neat beautiful, just go to someone who specializes in natural hair or even learn how to do them yourself, so Ashley. I hope this helps you and I you send me the email, because I really wanted to get on it and help you out before you go home to relax your hair thinking. That'S what you have to do when it that you don't, but everyone else is watching. I hope this video has helped you as well and before you go make sure to sign up for my email list to automatically be entered for any giveaways that do and to receive exclusive content. So until then I'll see you all in my next video
