Hi guys welcome back to my channel or to my channel if you knew today's video is kind of weird, oh by the way I got my eyebrows done. So if I look different to you, if you've watched me before it, I look different. That'S why anyways um today I'm going to do box braids and I don't know I've been wanting to do that for a long time. I don't know I just got the wild idea to do it and I can do it. Hopefully I can do it. I don't really know it's gon na like work, though, because I kind of suck at braiding and I kind of suck out my hair, because my hair is pretty long watch I'll show you all later I'll explain more later, but yeah we're just doing box braids. I'M just doing the regular parting, the brick parting, but yeah. So hopefully it's like not hard. Hopefully it's probably gon na be difficult because, like I'm already struggling - and I haven't really started so yeah see you in the next clip hi guys. So I put like a mirror behind me so, like you can see what I'm doing but anyways um things that I got before I did this oh by the way this is my first time ever doing it. So, let's see how this goes no, but I got some braids and extension machine spray or whatever, and it's good for like anti itch and it's good for boys rising at condition softens. I listed your hair and scalp so yeah. I also have a detangling spray, a brush this comb, and then I have a bunch of rubber bands because I'm gon na do the rubber band method method. So I'm going to part my hair before just so it could be like neater and I'm gon na, and then I got this. Let'S jam, I don't even know Joe and then I just have my. I got to be glue job that I've had forever, but I'm gon na try to use this one because it says it's like not flaky cuz whenever, like I don't know like I mess with it, this one gets really flaky. So I'm gon na try to use this one okay, so first I'm gon na try to part my hair. I'M gon na put a picture right here of how like kind of try to part it um. I don't want my braids to be like too small or too big, because I'm not trying to like take a long time. Oh also, I have these on, like the long hair or whatever it doesn't. One stays that kind of hair, but it was in that section. So I'm just guessing at it like if there's no weren't, but it's like it, doesn't say anywhere that it's that kind of hair. But it says that on the section it was, I got this out Sally Sally, Sally beautify, whoever so yeah, it's just a jumbo hair. It'S like kind of Umbria and it kind of matches my hair in the middle, like I, my test run did and you could. I couldn't even tell what my hair was and what that was so yeah. We should be good. Oh also, I'm not trying to like offend anybody by doing these box braids, that's not my intention or whatever's. I just really like this hairstyle and I'm not trying to say that I created this hairstyle or whatever, but I just really think it's really pretty and I just want to try it to see what I could do and I don't know it's just something: different and New and it's protective hairstyle too, and I'm gon na go on vacation, I'm actually going to Hawaii and like in three days I'm gon na Hawaii. So that's why I'm doing this mainly because of that? Oh and also um. Yesterday, last night I did conditioned my hair cuz. You want to like, have your hair prepared or whatever moisturized, so I do conditioned it so yeah, it's pretty soft right now. Actually, it's like actually really soft. It'S kind of weird sorry, if I keep on looking at the viewfinder, but I'm just gon na detangle. This and I'll show you when I'm parting it okay. So this is the before of my hair. It'S really long! It'S up to! I thought pretty much so yeah. It'S like really long, it's like has highlights in it, but yeah. This is the before okay, so so far, I've only into two parts and like retired, so I'm just gon na come back one I'm halfway there and then all the way done finished parting. My hair, this is probably integral friggin hour, I'm just hoping I'm not gon na give it just just I don't know, I'm just prey from you guys. I just don't want to give up on this, but like pretty hard. Okay. Thank you! Okay! So I'm like halfway done. I know it's kind of at my party kind of sucks, but it's my first time and nice like it anything was hair, so not as bad as it could be, but the rubber bands keep on breaking. So I don't even know what I'm gon na do, because a bunch of them breaking so maybe I just need to put them like this tight. Like I don't know what I need to do, but um so yeah, I'm halfway there just and Jesus they were good. I started at like 11 something and it's already 30 point 45 and I'm not even done with parting, my hair, so this is gon na, be fun right. How I've been putting my hair is like making like a rough-draft kind of and just doing what I think is good and then putting it up and then just taking out more parts to make it straighter. But yeah. I don't know I'm not really like being a perfectionist like I I do. I am a perfectionist like with everything else, but this I just want to get it done. So that's why I'm just like kind of brushing it hi guys. So I'm done through the back and there is one big piece about. I split in two and um kind of annoying because the rubber bands are breaking and I don't know why they're breaking so you don't have to use broad bands if you don't want to so I think I'm just gon na take them out, but it's good. So I have just already having parted, because if I didn't use the rubber bands and thought the hard top like I'm pretty good, so I think I'm just gon na take them out and do the regular method. But the thing is, I don't know what method I'm gon na use, so I'm not going YouTube and um try to find the best one for straight hair. So yeah we'll come I'll. Come back to you when I'm feathering hair, I don't even know what I'm gon na do, but this is already pretty much better, because I've had this pact first and I'll just like laying around this so yeah. Okay. So I did the first braid and I don't like it cuz look how loose it is. Cuz I take off the rubber band, but I'm probably gon na redo it, but I'm just gon na do the other ones, because I'm like target so yeah, okay guys. So I don't even know what method this is called a little stress right now, because the hair - this is not a tutorial because um. Obviously, I can't do this, so the mess that that I'm using is word put a demon, 20 % and then you just grab put over I release. I got this honestly. How did I actually think I can do this yeah so right here like I was really stressing, so I just asked my mom for help because I don't know like I was about to quit, so I was like. Can you help me and luckily she did and like if she didn't help me? I don't know how I would have done this, but she started the braid and I ended it so yeah. I still took a long time, though it took like ten hours, but I mean I guess it was worth it we'll get into that later, but um she would take a break and I would like pretty part the hair, but before I did that, I feathered the Hair out, so I just stretched out and then I just pulled the ends just to make it look more natural. I guess I don't know that's what you're supposed to do by split the hair into six sections, because I only had five packs of hair and I needed 30 braids. So you know quick maths but yeah. I just did that equally, so it could have the same amount of hair for each braid and my mom use that same spray to spray it, so it didn't get as tangley, because this hair was really hard to work with. I do not recommend do not get this hair, it was bad, very tingly, but anyways. I showed my mom a couple: YouTube videos on how to do the braids, so I just showed her that and she did that and she tried to get it really tight, but it was really hard to do it. I should have use a different rubberband or something but yeah how she tightened. It was just to pull my natural hair and that really helped and made a lot tighter, hey guys. So I'm finally done we're finally done, but I don't know how I feel about it. Like I like it, but then I'm just like it's kind of different. I don't know it's like, so it's big and my hasn't even fit around it. So I don't even know how I'm gon na like comb it back. Okay, so, like I started at like 11 in straight 10:38, so um, that's like 12 hours, right or 11 hours. How did I can't really do much almost 12 hours yeah? So I don't know what I would do if my mom didn't help me, because she really that she started the braid and then I ended it so yeah, I'm a boil me! No me, no me bellow, I, oh my god. Who is she? Who is she? I don't know nobody yeah, I felt like I was doing this wrong because I left the hair in the water for quite a bit because I felt like the hairs weren't straining out, but I looked at the pictures and I think it did make a difference. But I know I shouldn't be putting the hair directly in the pot. I know my rod, I kind of suck honestly. I think these braids are worth it, but my mom is kind of mad cuz. These took 10 hours and they only lasted 3 days, and usually these last like a month, but I did use your bonnet. So I don't really know what's wrong because they started to get loose and frizzy and I just didn't like how they look. So I had to take them out in Hawaii and I just got all my Kanekalon hair out and it was a lot but yeah. I would get this done professionally again because they obviously braid tighter and they actually know what they're doing but yeah. Thank you guys for staying to the end of the video. Hopefully it helped you and there's not that many videos with people with straight hair in box braids so yeah. This is just my experience and I hope you do this better than I could, because I kind of sucked but yeah. Thank you guys for watching and I'll see you in my next vid bye. You

alayna jade: They probably didn’t last very long because of your hair texture or your hair is very fine and soft but they look really good

M E L: I love all these black queens and their tips in the comment section girl this is SO HARD. Have to have mad respect for the women who braid hair and handle this themselves! I tried once and they came out shitty. Your mom is talented! Lol

꧁༺Lo Ve ༻꧂: Moisturize your hair with Palmer’s coconut milk smoothie. It’ll keep the braids from frizzing and it’s a perfect leave in moisturizer for this particular hair type. It didn’t last very long because your parts were too big. Looked really good for the first time though. Thank God your mom is awesome!!!

Malaysia Jones: Next time you should use the (RUBBER BAND) method it helps you grip your hair better and keeps it tight and it’s protection for your natural hair & you could also go to the beauty supply store and get the pre- stretched hair they have different brands and they’re really good but for a first timer you did really good

Joyce Marie: I want to try this hair style but I’m scared of offending African American culture. I’m Latina (Puertorican) and I have straight hair :( btw you look bomb ❤️❤️

Acire Simpson: I appreciate how you respect the culture. I see this as culture appreciation

Stephanie Perry Music: You look so cute with the box braids! You should totally do them again and in that color because it fits your so skin well; it brings out the warm tone in your skin

MzInDependant_Tisha: shout out to mom dukes!! learning how to box braid like a pro! i think everyone has a drastic 1st time doing braids experience. kudos to you for stepping out of comfort zone and doing what you liked. it takes practice and patience but they looked great on you.

Faith: it looks great! I feel like people always misinterpret what black people mean when we say people without curly hair shouldn’t do box braids. We ain’t being racist y’all it’s just that your hair isn’t made for it. Box braids are a protective style for curly hair and usually straight hair isn’t strong enough or thick enough to go through the amount of stress the braids put on your scalp. Straight hair that is thin WILL fall out when people do box braids on it but you’ll prolly be fine if you hair is thick enough

Shayna Brandon: I honestly think they turned out amazing for doing them at home! Props to you guys! Too bad they didn’t last a little longer tho for all the effort your guys put into it!

Stephanie Roberts: This looks very good on you! Super cute, nice job for your first time! :)

Sherlyn Garcia: I love love love love black culture or African-American culture and if I ever did this hairstyle you better bet I’m going to give a whole 10 minutes to the black queens for creating this hairstyle

lilly marcarini: You look so happy when you were done. I loved how it looked on you

It’s Chayce: There isn’t any need to bring her down!! They cute! Ima say it. They look good:) better then I can do

Ale Talamantes Casas: Giiirl your braids look beautiful!! I love the fact that a lot of black people are leaving really nice comments in here, I'm Mexican and I will do my box braids in a couple of weeks because I shaved my hair so short and I was a little worried that some people may think I was being rude or something but I totally respect them and the history behind the braids so I feel a little more calm seeing so many nice people, send you all lots of love! We all are beautiful♥️

Pamela Shelton: I thought your braids were too big at first but it looked awesome when you finished!

MsBridget: Thank you for sharing your experience we have the same hair texture and length. I think they look great on you. They did not look bad at all. I hope when i decide to do mine they look at least like this

Aight Sis: You look so pretty! I love those braids u did a good job

Caitlin Snyder: You rlly make me wanna try to do these!! There pretty good, and your so gorgeous

Chu•es: 10 hours? My hair is thicker than yours and it takes 5-6 hours damnn. They look pretty good tho.

Avery Prince: girl this looks SO PRETTY OMG!!!

iEatRags: It looks really nice! Idk why people are getting mad, like for what? She has a choice to do what she wants with her hair and she wants to braid it.

zZE1RaeXx: They didnt last long because of your hair texture, you don't just braid it in, you have to use certain types of braids for certain hair types.

Inspired: You look cute with box braids! They really suit you xox

croyance nakirindo: They look so good on you ❤️

GlossyVmimi: Personally I braid my own hair so I understand not knowing what to do at first. I recommend to do the non- rubber band method and take a strand split it into three sections (still do the 80 /20% thing ) and braid with the added in hair . Hope this helped a little bit Also splitting the strand into three and braiding with the added in hair personally makes it tighter for me also this helps me get it done in 2-5 hours but I do it without weave

Tanya Renaissance: You and your Mom did good. I always wear braids. But I think it's probably the type of hair you bought. and the thicker braids you do-the messier it gets!

Ashelyn Pacheco: So pretty Jaz, I love it!

Typical Pixel: Ahhh they look amazing!

camdendavis: girl seeing you struggle just makes me want to help you I’m really good at box braids

Sam Medina: Girl ur braids look so pretty. I can’t even do that myself girl. Good job

Ms Allure: Your braids were cute especially for a first time try. Hand clap for your mom for helping. Anyone wanting to try braids should go to a professional braider regardless of hair texture because the health of your hair is most important.

PeachesToLit: These are actually cute nxt time keep the rubber bands in they help the hair stay tighter and bigger box braids sometimes dont last as long

Raegan Reed: It looks so good!!

Jessie for Jesus: So pretty, great job.

Maritza Olmo: Them braids looked great on you!!!

Paislee Rhodes: I'm part Indonesian and braids are also part of the culture in Indonesia and I see this as appreciation not appropriation. Thank you for respecting the culture.

Typical Pixel: They look amazingg!!!

bxyleexbooker: they look really good on you !

Okie Dokie: 3:20 the hairstyle isn’t good for your hair type. Your hair type doesn’t need protective styling and if anything box braids are bad for it. Just a few tips too! - Soak your rubber band in oil so that they don’t break easily - Try using a gel/ edge control in your roots so that you can grip better - also maybe try Knottless box braids because you start off braiding with your natural hair and start adding extensions - also maybe try smaller sections for your braids, I’ve found with braids that smaller quantities of hair looks neater and is easier to grip and braid They’re really nice tho

Mariah Gil: #1 rule never respond to the hate just shine on baby girl. Ppl should take it as a compliment and pass any tips or tricks over to you before they pass judgment. I grew up with all black friends and they always braided my hair and I was pretty much like their sister always at their house and I loved their family as if they were my own and they felt the same about me. I learned a lot about their culture and I adopted to my own life. That’s the beauty of life and the purpose of sharing our life experiences and culture with one another. And for Gods sake ppl need to get over the fact that this is a free world and if you get mad over something like this you probably need to check in with yourself and why it makes you so mad? Maybe someone hurt you in a way and you have to try and do it to the next person or maybe you were raised to think this certain way. Jazzy G you’re adorable your personality is lovely you will go far in life. Spread love and enjoy life.. life is too short

emily vega: Personally me I love the braids but you should’ve had done jumbo braids with bigger parts

Monita Alvarez: AAAAH! I LOVED IT!!! GIRL I BEEN WANTING BRAIDS FOR THE LONGEST TIME AND MY HUSBAND HAS BEEN TELLING ME I SHOULD GO FOR IT BUT I ALSO AM VERY RESPECTFUL WHEN IT COMES TO AFRICAN CULTURE AND AFRICAN WOMEN IM TOO SCARED TO OFFEND ANYBODY AS A MEXICAN WOMAN GROWING UP WITH RACISM AND PREJUDICE TOWARDS ME I ALWAYS THINK ABOUT OTHERS FEELINGS FIRST I HELLA LOVE THEM THO THAT IS TRULY A BEAUTIFUL HAIR STYLE!

Licia S: I want to do some like this cause they look so natural and my hair is so short now but im afraid people will come for me when i grew up getting my hair braided by a black woman she told me every girl can have braids but not dreads and kinky twists and stuff like poofy wigs and all that i also listened to that and never once tried to disrespect anyone or the culture but as i got older people was attacking me

Kairalho: Looks really cute! I’m pretty sure they didn’t last long bc of the technique and your hair type tho. I did mine with crochet string and a different technique and they stayed for quite a while (plus my hair is loose curls)

Kingg Jennifer: I wanna try this because having a child your hair gets in the way and I don't have time to style it so I feel like braiding it will save me so much time

Mel H: I love how your hair came out.

Shabana Daryoush: Your long hair is very pretty ❤

Francisca's Fun Space: I'm African and I'm surprised seeing African Americans showing much love on the comment section. Most of the time they're offended by poeple of other races getting box braids.

Ada: It looks really good!!!!

browncowluver: Looks great! I am getting no braids for back to school!

Christine Abegail Castillo: 12:55 this pic is everything, suits you sm!

- Hana: i dont even care bc she’s pretty

brianna: i don't recommend using extensions because it can cut your hair texture very easily but other then that you slayed

kat white: I felt the struggle. I have straight and thin hair and did my box braids twice. Lemme just tell u I struggled and it took forever.

Simplyyy Mixmi: LOVE IT just need some decoration on the braids that’s what I do with mine

Diamond: Next time do the 2 strand method and add hair from each strand as yu go, your hair is already long enough and it will hold way better sis . Anyway you sized them out perfectly and they looked good while they lasted.

NaturalGee: The braids are really nice.

Kamryn Olivia: 10 hours????? My hair is soooo much thicker than your hair is. But they look good !❤️

It’s Brittany Bihhh: they were cute and don’t listen to people with the rubber band method that will make your hair fall out because of the texture

Marlo Marinakis: You are a DOLL! <3

Baby Lalita: You look so cute !!

Lex LaFever: I'm 12 and I did my own for the first time yesterday and they weren't that hard and I did all the parting myself

Nyesa Mosely: Next time , do them smaller & tighter . That will prolly make a difference.

Jailin Damon: They look great

Angelica Martinez: How tf do you not have more subscribers loved it.!!

night owl: I really want to do this on my hair, it just looks so pretty but I don't want to offend anyone since I'm white

Amelia avocado: To sucure the ends I do twist and rip until it’s sucured

Lexi James: I want to do this soooo bad.

Lizaaa: U look super cute I love these on u

Daisy Steph: You should do what’s In the box challenge!

nicole gonzalez: I see myself doing this my hair textured is the same

Mo: Damn they look good on you

kee simone: “Idk how I’m gonna comb it back”

JAZMYN: What length hair did you buy, how many inches was it?❤️

Jasmine: How long did it last?

M: Girlll those look bombb

Kristin Legs: How did you tuck your ends into the braid so they wouldn’t stick out?

Mary-Jane Harris: Moms. U show them how to do it for a couple minutes and they could literally do braids

FeeFee 86: Girl you look so cute with box braids but they are not made for straight silky hair❤❤❤

metro boomin make it boom: its nice but dont do it please..people will attack you for doing it + dont keep it for all that long because your natural hair will fall out

: At 3:00 in the video I liked what she she is super respectful and I love that please sub to her and like the video ❤️

lana: this is cute

Nisha Nicolee: knotless box braids are better for finer hair I wanna see another videoo ngl

Annika Toguchi: cutee hunn !!!

Lucy Mo: What braids and colour did you use?

Siddy 💕: HONESTLY, mom's just save us all

It’s Chayce: Oh yes you might wanna out the ends in hot water

Mija Sky: So cute on you

William Afton: I’ve been trying to do my own box braids but for one I’m Irish (white) and I don’t want to offend anyone since I have black cousins who might make fun of me for it and I have thick hair so I think it would be harder I dunno

Brandi Anderson: I use pre stretch and pre feather prevents the tangles

Angel Roak: I really wanna do box braids too I don’t know if they gonna look good on me lol let’s see

Ma la: You don't lose more hair when use rubber band methods?

Kayy Mulani: U should try knot less braids so they’ll stay in since ur hair is straight. You looked great tho

jiime_bbyy: Mines lasted like...4 weeks looking good but then my hair was coming out and they were kinda frizzy I really wanna get them done again but I want them to last more...and is really expensive so Idk what to do.

Raisa Carey: How many packs did you use??

Jamie Alvarez: Mine took 12 hours because my hair was so long

Kay Amor: Maybe you should try the rubber band method then braid it may last longer in the roots I think idk

Cynthia Waters: why didnt u just braid ur natural hair? that would've been soo cute too and wouldve stayed and been free

H Q: I need these
