my goal is to LIFT some of the BLACK out of mali’s hair. i previously colored mali's hair BLACK, but she made sure that she left about 2 months between the change of color. i'm going to create a stunning BALAYAGE to LIGHTEN some of the BLACK. i'm going to get mali’s hair to the lightest shade of BROWN that she can WITHOUT DAMAGING the hair.

the key is to keep the hair very HEALTHY.

Hey guys, who are here with Mellie today, I'm Ellie hi. So today what we're gon na be doing with her hair is we're actually going to be lifting out some of the slack. So what we did the last time is color for their black and I made sure to check in like okay. Are we not making this lighter any time soon, because black is very permanent? That was maybe a month ago, yeah yeah yeah two months ago and now guess what we're going lighter. So this does happen. Sometimes people change their minds. We'Re gon na be doing a balayage in the hair, so we're gon na have to be lightening the color out and we're gon na get her to the lightest Brown. We can good thing is that we're not going for a blonde, so we're not gon na have to lift too far. The key is to keep Mellie's hair very healthy, and so in a month or two we might actually add some lighter extension pieces in there. So we don't have to do too much processing and all in all her hair is gon na look awesome. We are ready to get started and we have her hair sectioned out into four quadrants. We are going to be taking sections about this wide and we're going to be splitting that section into two. So we're going to be leaving out the bottom portion of this section, because we do want to keep black her natural color into the final result. We aren't going to be doing an ombre. We want it to be a baleog where the lighter color is mixing in with her natural. We are going to be doing a finer weave into the hair like so, and we're going to be painting on the lightener into the hair, making sure to saturate the hair, fully making sure to feather the lightener into the dark root so that it creates a very Diffuse deny and turn your brush to the side and lightly feather into the hair, make sure you're staggering the amount of dark you leave in each foil as you go through that's going to ensure that we have a very diffused blending line from dark to light. Now, on the third foil, you're gon na see how much start we're gon na be leaving we're mainly focusing lower on the strand for the lightener and we're going to be rotating and alternating between these three staggered amounts. As we work through the head, you can see how the foils are sitting from how far they're staggered from the root of the hair. We are now working around the front of the head around the face, and this is going to be a very visual process. We can see exactly where we want the color to lie and visualize how we want to paint it on to the hair. You can see that we're wanting to have a little bit more lightness around the face, so we have it angled backwards where we have more light in the front and less in the back. We are going to continue staggering how much dark we leave in the hair. Like we did before alternating between the three different amounts for each foil as we go here, are her foils all applied. You can really see the staggering pattern of the foils once they're. All in let's take a peek into the foils here we can see that it's lifting out very nicely and that the remaining pig net is is exactly where we want it to be, because we're doing a rich brown color. This color underneath is really gon na. Add a great foundation so that it's gon na hold the color. Well, we have all the foils washed out now and you can take a look at how this color looks. It'S perfect for our last stage, where we're going to be coloring. The hair here is the color all applied. Alright, we're all done here and look how nice this looks here. We have this beautiful color coming through here this nice, like caramely, honey, tippet. Oh, how do you like it Mele? Oh, I know it so. Well, probably we're gon na work it out. We might be doing extensions as well to add some lightness into it, but other than that we're good to go. Our hair still looks really nice and healthy and strong. So if you guys have any questions, leave a comment below we're going to be doing product giveaways so check out the link in the description as well to Anna Wintour. Three products other do not subscribe to the channel and we'll see you guys next time. Thank you.

Anjel Meyer: Beautiful. It gives her hair a lot of dimension. She looks super happy too.

Rain 79: I love her hair. I would like to get a look like this as well. My hair natural hair color is dark brown/black with natural red highlights from the sun. Two months ago I dyed it at home a dark red shade. I honestly can't remember what the actual name was called. I would love to have someone help me with my color.

Lovelyliv007: Love the results!

Sophia Mc Namara: Wow the shine from her natural hair ,beautiful result love it ❤

Ashendoll: How easy is it to lift black hair that's been dyed for years? I think it's making me look really harsh and older (especially as I'm pale as milk), bur I'm also worried about the cost/damage of trying to get some warm highlights in my hair...

Jessica Liz: hiii, love this look. Wondering what color brown did you dye it ? after bleaching. thanks ;)

Skye: I am Asian and have really black hair like your customer. About 2 days ago, I tried to lighten it, and it looks OK, but it’s just the slightest bit orange. In about late august to September, is it okay to get my hair highlighted or baylaged again? Or will it be too soon?? I want brown highlights everywhere!!

xofam: Hey, love the look, just wanted to know how long did you leave the bleach in? Also can you help me with a toner? We don't get toners in my country and I don't want a orange Brassy look. I have black virgin hair, and i am looking for the exact same colour balayage. I cant afford salons

Lilly Bomb: I wonder what volume of developer you have used. And i love, love the result !

Rachel Freeland: Looks awesome!

Traci Cybulski: Looks beautiful but What color did u use to tone the highlights?

robert björnesjö: Looks so good on her and to her skin what color was it that u layed over?

Annaliese: Could I do a high lift instead of lightener if my hair is naturally black or more level 2? Since there is no dye to remove

Maria_Veronica_SE_ETH COTIGA: if you would want to do this look but instead of honey brown , you would want grey , you use the same process but just leave the hair bleach more , than add violet pigment and grey pigment ? sorry if that sounds stupid

Amanda A: Which colour dye did you use?

Nasrin Hasan: Can we do like balayage only with bleach but no color in black hair? Is there a possible way to not use color but get highlights?

Lady Knockout CEO: It was good, coulda gone a little higher up, no need for extensions

Muhammad Haider Ali: My hair is also black and what color you use for highlights. And plz tell the product.

Claire blessing: What colour did you use

zeni 786: Is this permanent x

Kay-leigh Walker: Is lightener the same as bleach

Diana Rosas: What did you use for toner?

KMichelle: Veronica is back!

Sukanya Jaiswal: heyy, i have naturally black hair, so it is possible to get a brown balayage only by the lightener or am i supposed to use some colors? also for how long should i keep the lightener for? one last question - what is the use of a toner? what if i omit this step?
